We have been to Burnt Toast many times, and we know that on a Sunday morning, it can be busy. The quality seems to have declined. Today, we visited with 5 people total (one was a little kid). 3 of 5 arrived first, checked in with the hostess, and were told 5-10 minutes wait. The remaining two arrived shortly after check-in. So all party was there. After waiting for 20 minutes, we noticed a larger group the came after us got seated before. So we approached to ask about our turn, the unfriendly manager said that because there were specific table size, and a booth would not fit us. So we have to wait. A few minutes later, we saw a group of 5 was called, who also came after us. I went up to the hostess and asked again. At that point, the hostess seemed to not able to find our name on the list, and the same manager approached and used not so patience tone with me. I calmly explained that at this point, we have waited for almost 30 minutes (when we were told 5-10 minutes initially), and when many people (4 or more people) came after us got seated. At this point, the manager impatiently said we there was a booth, and we said we would take it as one of the five was a little kid. She grudgingly showed us to the booth, and along the way mumbling that the restaurant was full and all. Now, the food wasn't that great either. When our food arrived, they were lukewarm at best. It was as if they were sitting for a while. Again we understand when the restaurant gets busy, there is waiting. We also understand there could be a mix up during busy time. The manager never acknowledge anything, instead we were made to feel as if we were unreasonable. They just lost 5 customers today. read more

Been coming here ever since they opened many years ago. I would have to say that the experience is not what it used to be. Just had breakfast there today and we waited longer than normal to get seated, although there were plenty of empty booths and tables. Once we were seated we waited approximately 10 minutes to be acknowledged by a server. Food was decent, but this is the second time in a row that the over medium eggs I ordered came to the table considerably overcooked. Also disappointed that when you order sourdough toast with your breakfast entree that you get one slice instead of two. I requested a second slice and was charged an additional $3.25! Our future visits will be scaled back considerably, considering their current quality and value for the money. Their prices continue to go north while the overall experience goes south. They offer the usual breakfast options , along with a few different items. I had the Healthy Platter. The platter was egg whites, asparagus, spinach and broccoli. It was a healthy option for breakfast. The portion was very large. The vegetables needed some seasoning, ut overall it was good. Others ordered omelets and they came with hash browns and toast. Service was ok, but not great. We had to find out waiter to take out order and he did not check in with us throughout our meal. They have a nice large area, it is very family-friendly and you can get seated pretty The staff is efficient and kind, eager to give recommendations and you're treated like family. I was returning from Chicago airport, when I decided to have a breakfast here. This restaurant is big and lively. The place was almost full. Corned beef hash benedict was my favorite. The grand marnier french toast is good if you have a sweet tooth. It came nicely topped with banana and pecans. The kids chicken strips were fried crispy. For a few years now, we have been coming here for our Saturday or Sunday breakfast. Each and every time whatever we pick from the menu comes out delicious. The staff is very friendly and the owner has a great way about her by going to each table to see if everything is OK. This is a long lost trait and glad to see that she does this. We had a men's breakfast there,I live in Carillon at Cambridge Lakes us seniors and veterans was there last Friday of June. They had us wait in the lobby as they set up, which they lied to all of us. One veteran had a leg missing. It's a shame that the people working this restaurant were so that they treated seniors and veterans poorly. They shoved us in a back room, didn't set anything up or was ready for us. The eyes were all cooked the same. They waiter couldn't multi task anything, plus the food was COLD. It was like they thought we drink one more cup of his coffee, which is not very good. Plus you know they are not a good restaurant look for a price of coffee or drinks not on their menu. One thing is for sure they this restaurant disrespect seniors and veterans which I will not take. Do the math on an average 25/30 men at an average of $24.00 a person. They treated us wrongly pass the word this could be your grandfather or dad. It's ashamed that who ever was in charged that morning should be fired. The Mediterranean Avocado Toast was the best breakfast I have ever had in my life. The combination of hummus with cherry tomatoes and pesto on the avocados was spectacular. The over easy egg added an incredible flavor after cutting through the yolk. Perfect on sour dough toast. It was on the specials. I would add it to the menu because it's a winner. My wife had a cheeseburger . The sweet potato fries were fantastic. It is definitely the best cheeseburger in the area. Skip the fast food burger. I had a issue with the coffee being a bit too acidic but the owner took it away and came back with a replacement that was the great coffee that I am accustomed to. I have bought bags of coffee here due to the fact that I love their bold flavor that they serve here. Not the bland coffee served elsewhere. Pancakes were chewy... didn't think that was even a thing. Bacon was cold but edible. Coffee was good but it's coffee - even bad coffee can be sucked down. $2 share fee, slow service, food comes out 30 min after eating entree. Been here 10x in the last 3 years. Today we went for breakfast as we did last week. 2 adults, 2 teens. Order 2 skillets (hash, eggs, 3 pancakes), 3 coffees, 1 blended drink. Was informed by "Jenn" our server we would be charged $2 per plate "share" charge. Asked if this was new policy, told no, its always been there. Did not get blended drink until food arrived. Got the skillet, no pancakes. Finished skillet, asked where were pancakes. Reminded 2x, didn't receive pancakes until almost 30 mins after finishing the skillet. If we didn't have good experiences in the past, this would be our last visit. Next time we return, we will ask to not be seated in Jenn's section. If you are going to charge a fee to share, provide better service and split the plates. This would feel less like we are being punished for not over eating. read more

Breakfast is probably my favorite meal of the day and when I visit home, I'm always looking for new places to try. We stumbled upon this place and I was pleasantly surprised. It looked really small from the outside and it's actually quite large. They have different sized booths and tables which is great, so you have options. The thing I noticed the most was the decorations and the lighting. Very pretty and the lighting was very calming. Food- I got the potato pancakes with applesauce and my oh my, they were delicious! They were the perfect texture, minus the burnt pieces on the ends and the flavor was quite appealing. I enjoyed the apple sauce on them and that's actually it. Some use sour cream but I don't eat much dairy, so I opted for the healthier version (not that it's a super healthy meal, right?) There is also a good amount, so I wasn't leaving hungry by any means Service- The Service was pretty good. We were greeted right away and when we sat down, our waiter came about 30 seconds after. He was prompt, got our drinks out right away and was pretty friendly. Whenever there was a dirty plate or anything on the table, someone would come by and pick it up right away, so that was nice, having our table cleared quicker than usual. That's what really stood out to me! The only thing I would suggest would be to let people know you pay up front when you deliver the checks because we didn't know we had to do that until we had asked. Everything else was great though, even when we checked out, the lady was friendly. This place feels really "homey" and welcoming, which was perfect since it's cold and rainy today. I would definitely come back here and recommend to others! OH! One thing I absolutely loved was that they have ECO-FRIENDLY straws! I personally don't use plastic straws anymore for obvious reasons and it's very rare to find a breakfast place that has the eco-friendly ones, so I was pleasantly surprised and happy about that. read more
