Like many I post about they have the open ceiling so once they get busy it can be a bit noisy, but not over bearing. My favorite place to enjoy breakfast when we decide to grab some child free breakfast. The seating is ample and there's plenty of space here. It is quiet and very clean with a nice aesthetic. The food is tasty and everyone is very friendly. The only thing that keeps us from visiting more (or even with our 3 year old) is that the portions aren't actually that big and it's just not a great value for a family breakfast compared to other places we go. Noisy! Seriously, really noisy! Before I go into details on the noise, everything else was good. Good food, service, and décor. But if you're at all sensitive to noise, I would go elsewhere on a weekend morning. It is probably not so bad on a weekday. The décor is nice, but there is something about the acoustics. Noise seems to carry and even get amplified. It was really aggravating to me, it felt like I was in a crowded station or even a large theater before a concert. It felt like crowd noise was even being amplified somehow, like an annoying echo of a talking crowd. It didn't even make any sense why it was was loud. Seemed only about 20-30 tables, it was baffling to me. High ceilings? An echo? Something about the building material? The shape? It was insane! I couldn't enjoy the meal. But hey that's me. If you don't care about that stuff then you'll probably enjoy the place. The food was plenty good and the menu was very creative. It would be cool to try one of their drinks sometime. I took away one star for the noise, and a second star for not having cappuccino or latte. And they tried to sit me near the kitchen. Was even louder back there, I had to ask to get moved. It was my first time at First Watch and it will not be my last! I went there for brunch with some friends and I thought it was such a cute brunch spot. FOOD: we all order rounds of the Purple Haze. Not only was it good but was such a fun drink. For my main meal, I ordered biscuits and Turkey gravy with seasoned potatoes and scrambled eggs. The biscuits and gravy were amazing! I love that the biscuits were fluffy and smother in this delicious gravy. The season potatoes were good but I'm more of a crispy hash brown kind of girl. They're good but nothing special. It was my first experience having breakfast at First Watch. While the food was tasty and the coffee was rich and hot, I walked away scratching my head, unsure about the service. We had a few different servers coming and going at our table, but we had to flag someone down to place our order and get one more set of silverware. Our food arrived pretty quickly, but on a week day morning that didn't appear real busy, I'm not sure why the service for our table was a little challenging. I had to ask someone if I could pay for our check too. Interesting morning. Value wise, I felt other nearby places in Schaumburg, like Egg Harbor and Maxfield's, have many more breakfast options, slightly better prices, better service, and bigger portions. If you're someone who loves fresh, wholesome food, then this spot is definitely up your alley. It's got a wonderful focus on healthier options, which I really appreciate, though it's not quite the traditional greasy spoon diner experience where you expect pancakes or toast with everything. It's more about thoughtfully prepared, lighter fare. I tried a few things on the menu. The AM Super Bowl was fantastic seriously, super healthy and so satisfying. The Chickichanga also caught my eye, and while it was good, I found the sauce had a really pronounced lemony kick, which might be a bit much for some, but definitely made it unique. I also went for the Farmhouse Hash, which was pretty tasty. I was secretly hoping for a side of toast with it, but it didn't come with any. Their coffee was perfectly decent, though I'm a bit of a creature of habit and usually prefer a flavored creamer to jazz it up a bit. Oh, and I was lucky enough to snag their seasonal dragon fruit drink it was absolutely delicious. My husband and I went to a First Watch location in WI and LOVED it, so when this location opened up right down the street from home, we were excited to try it. When we came to this location, it was a spontaneous decision. We checked the wait list on Yelp to see if it was crazy and it said there was no one in line. When we got to the restaurant, we checked in with the hostess and a few people were waiting in front of us; although we ended up being on the waitlist when we came, the 15-minute wait the hostess said we had turned to a 5-minute wait. We were SO lucky! The ambiance of this location fits the ambiance of the other location we visited. It has an extremely aesthetic atmosphere with beautiful modern and lively decor. They also have the cutest little bar area in the middle of the restaurant and the comfiest dining chairs at some of the tables (we were lucky enough to get a table with them, too!). When we sat down, we had a nice waiter who came to us right away, and we had great service the entire time with him as our waiter. I ordered the Million Dollar Bloody Mary ($8.79) that came in a cute glass with a mini carafe. It had delicious bacon sticking out, as well. The drink was delicious and I was shocked it wasn't too expensive since many places overcharge for Bloodys. When it came to food, I ordered the Market Veggie sandwich ($11.99) with a side of Cheddar Broccoli soup, and both were heavenly. The veggie sandwich had delicious and fresh veggies like mushrooms, zucchini, and spinach, as well as mozzarella cheese, mayo, and basil pesto on whole-grain bread. The ingredients work extremely well together, and as I am writing this review, I am salivating just thinking about how amazing it was. I even dipped in the soup a few times, and it made it even more amazing because the soup was SO creamy and cheesy. YUM! My husband ordered the Bacado ($12.99) and loved it. I have to say, for a Sunday morning, before the rush, the service wasn't great. I was greeted at the door and the staff were friendly. Got to my table and the waiter came by with the menu. I'm so glad that FirstWatch opened up a location near my home! The next closest location is 25 minutes away, which I'm fine with, but it's still nice to be able to drive 5 minutes down the road and get to such a nice breakfast place. FirstWatch has some of the best breakfast dishes around. One thing I really appreciate is that you can tell each dish has a specific recipe that's followed. There's some restaurants I've been to where my favorite dish changes from location to location, and certain locations have noticeably worse versions. FirstWatch isn't like that. One thing I wish my experience had was shorter wait times. I was standing up front for a while before being given a table. I understand if there's a rush, but on the day I went, it wasn't very crowded at all so I'm not sure why I had to wait so long (especially when I could see numerous empty tables were available). I ordered the Elevated Egg Sandwich and my mother ordered the Floridian French Toast. We also ordered the Morning Meditation Fresh Juice and the Purple Haze. My potatoes were cooked to perfection and my mom's french toast was also very obviously freshly-made. My Purple Haze drink had lavender (which is why I ordered it), but not enough that it was overpowering, which I really appreciate. A lot of drinks that use lavender go way overboard to the point where you can't taste anything else, so I'm glad the Purple Haze didn't do that. The price was good too. For two people eating full breakfasts, I didn't feel like we spent a fortune. The quality of the food was worth the price. Overall, I give this location five stars (despite the initial slow service). Just pull into the Michaels' parking lot, and keep going south and you'll finally see it. The service was very good. Everything about the breakfast was great (super flavorful) except the black beans on the side, which were not properly warmed. Despite the room temperature beans, this a 4.3 breakfast for me. First watch waffle never disappoints on the light airy and fluffiness. I never feel heavy after eating their waffles which is an amazing feeling but I do feel satisfied if that makes sense. Decided to stop by for the soft opening. I was able to try a few of the dishes but was not impressed. The chickichanga was okay, I think they forgot to put the chorizo in it. The Vera Cruz sauce just seemed to be hollandaise sauce. I was not impressed. The lemon ricotta pancakes were not too bad. The pancakes were fluffy and they gave us warm syrup to put on the side. Some one got the chile chorizo omelet but it was not spicy. We also had the healthy turkey but it was okay. Overall everything seemed bland. There's only so much that hot sauce can do. I recently visited First Watch 3 times in 2 weeks after having been a regular at Wildberry, and while the food and atmosphere were nice, I felt extremely rushed during my last visit. The male server kept coming by to ask if we needed anything, around 10 times!! It started to feel like we were being encouraged to leave, even though we were still enjoying our time. I was meeting friends that I haven't seen in ages. Absolutely perfect with nice, modern, and (importantly) clean vibes. Good going. 3- The food. Ok, now this is really the key, right? Hubby chose the breakfast Burrito, which was HUGE. 1/2 was spicy; the other 1/2 had a hollandaise-like sauce on it (a bit odd for a burrito but it was good). Hubby was amazed - the flavor was just right; and 1/2 of this burrito ended up making its way home as it was simply too much to eat! I had the traditional breakfast - 2 scrambled eggs, chicken sausage (which had a really unique and tasty flavor!); two pieces of (the only sore spot) cold toast, albeit with a nice strawberry jam accompaniment. And the coffee, which came with a little insulated pot on the table for instant warm-ups? Nice indeed! So what's the verdict? We've found ourselves a breakfast spot that we'll definitely come back to again! We love First Watch. Every one we have been to. This new one opened in Schaumburg and our favorite server Jackie notified us she was transferring from the Bloomingdale location and we had to come see her. Amazing as always. They have only been open a week and a half but they seem to have things running pretty smoothly. The coffee is the best so don't skip it. Today I tried the Fritata Rustica. I really like veggie omlettes and this was kind of an italian spin on that. Fresh flavorful mushrooms, sweet carmelized onions, tangy tomato, little bites of al dente asparagus and a little kale for color and texture. Fantastic. My kids say they have the best French Toast and I can't disagree. Soft, almost custardy inside, perfectly browned with a little cinnamon. My wife ordered a banana granola crunchy pancake. They are huge and a perfect blend of the ingredient and not too sweet. You could do without syrup, but I like a little anyway. My daughter got the bacado omlette which is bacon and avocado and made with love. One thing I love here is you can get a mixed green salad with your omlette instead of potato and it comes with a vinagrette that pairs well with most things. When you stop in, ask for Jackie.
