I have been meaning to try this place for months. Grabbed a friend and stopped in one Saturday morning around 11:30. Busy but we got right in and seated. So cute inside! I got to see the tree but we sat in another room. Everything on the menu looked sooooo good. I settled on the Italiano and man, was I happy with that. The garlic bread made it really unique! Delicious. I also took a beignet to go. I wasn't going to try it in the car but was stuck waiting for a delivery and...I learned the hard way! Do not eat it in the car.

THANKS ERIC!!!

The food was great! Eric was a wonderful waiter and the atmosphere was excellent, I had the avocado toast and I have never had better! Will definitely go back. Thanks Eric!

Biscuits and Gravy with turkey sausage, House Potatoes, and eggs

I visited Benedict's in Dundee twice. The atmosphere here is nice, cozy, and homely. This unique restaurant has a living tree growing through it and out the roof. Service was cool. The great menu options for breakfast is what drew me here. The first go round I had scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, and blueberry pancakes. The eggs and turkey sausage were fine. The blueberry pancakes had plenty of blueberries mixed throughout the batter, but I really wasn't a fan of the batter flavor. I really wanted to try the biscuits and gravy because the gravy was made with turkey sausage instead of pork, so I came back. On my return visit I did not like the biscuits and gravy at all. The biscuits were savory and contained some extra ingredients. It looked like finely chopped carrots or something. This breakfast item was a no go for me. I think the gravy should be savory enough to use on good ole regular biscuits. I did like the house potatoes thought. They were seasoned well and cooked right. I really wanted to like Benedicts more than I did.

I love this place. It has character, great service, and good food. I can eat everything on menu! We had the apple beignets, portobello benedict, and crab & avocado omelette. So good that we didn't even need to go boxes. They say you shouldn't play with your food, but when you're with family at a fun place, you just can't help yourself (which explains the aftermath of pictures. Thank you for a fun time!

I was seated right away and everyone was very nice. The building gives homey vibes and feels like you just went to a friends house. The food not only looks amazing but tastes amazing. It's my new favorite place to eat.

Cozy, yummy, friendly, and attentive are just the baseline expectations at Benedict's. They go beyond that with the quality of food and beverages. It has been a LONG time since I have had the perfectly balanced Caramel Latte, and you betcha I ordered TWO. My three year old was craving a waffle, and he loved it (we all know how quickly toddler minds can be changed- but this was not one of those times)! My husband commented, "The worst part of this meal is that it is gone."

In the past we have tried burgers and the crab cake sliders which are favorites, but today we took it easy with a couple of cocktails and some candied bacon. He ordered the Stag Sour which is similar to a blackberry sour but with fresh blackberry puree which elevates the drink and mellows the whisky taste. I ordered the Bloody Mary with the RST skewer- amazing! Pro tip: you can order the skewer for $1.50 which would be a nice addition to any beer too! The candied bacon is peppery thick cut bacon slices with a sticky sweet glaze that is a perfect snack. And you can't beat the price at $7 for four of these big slices! Service was quick, the atmosphere seems busy but is quite chill, and we loved that they had sport on the tv to go with our drinks. This place is reliably great and so conveniently located so you are still in the Dundee atmosphere without feeling like you are in the middle of the "party zone". They have daily specials and we are looking forward to coming in on Wednesday for a $5 wine bottle with two entree purchase soon!

When we were it seemed as though the servers were not thrilled to have us there. Again, it was a busier afternoon. We sat ourselves on the outside patio that was popping off with lots of friendly banter across tables, good looking plates, and loved that it was a dog friendly patio!! Huge win for the area! We ordered a couple beers (Stella and the local Crystal Lake Beach Blonde Ale) as well as the October wing special- Blackberry bacon glazed wings. Wow! The charbroil on the wings gave an insane depth of Smokey flavor that was perfectly matched by the thick, sweet and salty syrup that coated each crispy wing. Killer! They did not skimp on the sauce was much appreciated! We loved the ranch too. If it's not homemade, they did a fantastic job selecting that type because I would have drank it if I could! Prices were more than fair and the service was quick once seated. A really cool spot for a quick afternoon bites and brew with friends! It was nice to see big parties there that were clearly regulars because it really set the townie feel. Would love to come back for St Patrick's Day! And luckily they have more bathrooms in the basement so even in a bustling day it is accommodating to us ladies!

The bartenders are fantastic, all of them. They are always quick to fill a drink or make conversation and have great recommendations. Get there early though, because it fills up quickly, even on weeknights. All the old fashioneds here are perfect, and that's my go-to here. If steak isn't your thing they have a tremendous Caesar salad here. It's quite large too, so I'd suggest splitting it with whoever you bring. The popover rolls are a must. Meaning, you must get them every time. The pasta I had once, it was good, but I love the risotto. The French onion soup looked phenomenal (I didn't get it) but 3 people next to me did, and all loved it. My favorite sandwich on the menu is the French Dip. We ordered the Pop Over Rolls to start off our meal and they were some of the best rolls I've ever had. I really liked that they had a hint of cheese and the butter was also delightful. To eat, I ordered the Summer Corn Ravioli and it was one of my favorite pasta dishes I've probably ever had. I did get it without the mushrooms as I typically am not a fan of mushrooms but the ravioli was perfectly cooked and the flavors were simply divine. My party also ordered various meat dishes that they all raved about as well. We did order the brussel sprouts and asparagus to share - I enjoyed the asparagus but did not try the brussel sprouts given they had bacon in them. We didn't order dessert BUT did get a fantastic vanilla cake with raspberry sauce for dessert that our server brought given it was my mom's birthday dinner. The cake was SO delicious and I was very happy we got it! To top it off, our service was amazing throughout and it was an overall wonderful experience. Thank you, The Greggory team, for a great first experience! We cannot wait to be back!
