We stopped in for lunch. It's a beautifully decorated establishment. Service was quick and friendly. What we ordered: El Paso burger- burger was good, a bit under cooked- side of sweet potato fries- they were soggy and limp. Build your own burger- the burger was good and slightly under cooked. The potato salad was very "soupy". There was more egg and "sauce" in my potato salad than there was potatoes. The location in Hoffman Estates is much better when it comes to the food. read more

My wife and I ordered nachos and fish tacos. We waited around 28 min for the nacho appetizer and the tacos came out just minutes behind. Seemed to be a problem with either the kitchen or server but either way that's a loooong time for nachos. And when we ate the food it was cold to the touch. Just ridiculous! read more

My husband and I have been here twice for our monthly date night dinner. We were super excited to eat here as we enjoy the other Assembly. The first time we dined at The Assembly, our food was so salty. I mean, so salty, I drank more water at dinner than I ever drink. I usually don't give places a second chance; however, since I never had a bad meal at the other Assembly, I decided we needed to give it a second chance. The second time we went, the food was wonderful. We started with the zucchini app. So good! I had The Rachel with tots and my husband had a burger. Both were very good. The Assembly is your pretty standard bar/restaurant but that isn't to say it isn't worth a meal. They have a friendly staff, menu with lots of options, and the place is neat, tidy, and inviting. Our lunch was the pretty standard fare, chicken and noodles for the kids and wings for me. The kids enjoyed their meal and I found the wings to be tasty. I ordered them "well done" (because I like my wings really dry) and they didn't quite get them there. However, I can understand as it's an unusual request. Everything else about our meal was on par and the portions are generous! The dining room and bathrooms are all well looked after and their patio space looks like a great spot for a nice day. All of this was courtesy of the nice staff, our waitress especially. She was friendly and welcoming, accommodating any questions/requests we had. We found our visit to be on point but nothing to write home about. They do a good job here. read more

This was a disappointing experience. We ordered the pretzels & fried pickles. Pretzels were good. Pickles were soggy and had no flavor . Do not bother with them. The burgers were good. The chicken noodle soup was inedible. Skip this item . The food was a 7/10 . The SERVICE was horrible!!! Took 20 minutes to get a drink , no refill the entire time. Our server was nowhere to be found. Zero personality & how she gets a way with this ? Because they apply a 20% fee on the bill After tax which is illegal! $250 bill + 20% charge That's why the service sucked. Unfortunately, we did not have an excellent experience at this Dundee location. From the moment we walked in the door to the food poisoning I got at 3:00am. We were meeting some friends and the hostess didn't really know what to do to help us find them. She was just a kid, nice enough, but inexperienced. Our server, though friendly, was also inexperienced, which made it difficult to order the things we wanted. The cocktail order really threw her for a loop. Then when the food finally arrived, it took a while, we didn't have everything brought to our table at one time, with one person having to wait several minutes for their food. It's a shame too because the place was not busy even though it was Saturday night. It's a cute place with lots of potential. We had high hopes as several of the members of our party had been to the Hoffman location years ago and had good memories of their experience. My only hope for them is this isn't how they run things all the time. My husband and I were the only ones who got sick we believe it was possibly the onions on the burger that only we got. We were the only ones who ordered that particular burger and we shared it. Luckily, nobody else got sick. Wish this review could be better. read more

On a Friday in March we went to The Assembly in Dundee. We got fast attentive service at the bar, ordering a couple of the new-to-this-area beers, the Yuengling lager. Being a Friday in Lent we ordered the fish fry and a tuna melt. Both arrived in pretty short order. The fish in this perch fish fry was cooked perfectly and served piping hot. The tuna melt looked great too. I'd been to the location in Hoffman Estates many times. Seems like this one is consistently good too. read more

The food was good. The experience was the worst. After a long day we wanted to order burgers for delivery. I went to the Assembly website and chose delivery for the order option. A drop down menu appeared with a list of delivery services. On the top, marked business preference, was Toast. Ordering was easy enough it said the delivery would be in 25 minutes. 40 minutes went by so I called the restaurant. The order was there, FOR PICKUP! I drove to the restaurant to get our food. I asked to speak to a manager. She was defensive and no help at all. No, I'm sorry. No discount. Nothing. She said they use Door Dash - then why the heck did the website list Toast as preferred??? The Assembly is an excellent addition to Dundee. With the mall closed and the potential for the restaurants in the loop to be affected, head to The Assembly. They are known for their burgers, they aren't cheap, but they are quality and quantity at the same time. There is a cool center bar, sometimes the bartenders are also cooks, cooking up burgers and sides right in front of the U shaped bar. They have Bingo on Mondays, at 6. Prizes are often free for vouchers to The Assembly to be used within the month. They also have gaming. The staff is very friendly! Give them a try! read more

I have been to their location in South Barrington a couple times so I wanted to try this location as well. I found this location to be quaint, nicely decorated and they have friendly staff :) The potato skins that were on the happy hour special was one of the best I have ever had! There was of cheese and bacon bits and I will definitely get this again! I have not tried the hamburgers at this particular location which is what they are known for but they were very good in South Barrington. I will definitely be back next time I am in the area. read more

FOOD I had the "El Paso" burger and it lived up to the hype! Billy (the bartender and burger maker extraordinaire for the bar) said it was spicy and it was. My wife "built her own burger." She said it was excellent too! The draft beer was very cold. The water did not taste right to me but, my wife said hers was fine. The fries were very good (hot) too. SERVICE We sat at the bar and Billy was our bartender. He did a great job with the burger's and drinks. He was very helpful and knowledgeable with the menu. AMBIANCE If you have been to the old Assembly in Hoffman Estates the West Dundee one is quite a step up decor wise. It was 84° outside but, inside was perfect. I'm a long time customer of both locations. I was in Dundee this past Saturday & was extremely disappointed. Prices raised & portions cut in half. I spoke to the manager & said there is nothing that can be done. I guess the owners came in on on Friday, dropped off new menus & that's pretty much it. The service staff is truly amazing ....but if this keeps up you may start losing customers. Hopefully there will be some redemption! I sent an email & haven't received a response yet. At this point I'm pretty sure no one will respond. I'm ok for price increases & I totally am on board for paying a little more, but don't skimp on the food or cut portions directly in half! We stopped in on a Saturday night because we wanted to try the newer location. We have been to the other location in Hoffman Estates and have been meaning to come over here. My boyfriend ordered a regular cheeseburger, but I ordered the seasonal (turkey) burger. We were there for my boyfriend's birthday so we took a dessert to go. We used to go to the original location regularly but haven't been back in 20ish years. The new location is nice inside, and looks like they have a great patio. The menu is very burger centric as you would expect. We started with a very large order of fried pickles, they seemed to be homemade, they were very good. We ended up taking some home because there were so many. My wife got talked into the Parmesan burger and I went back to an old favorite, the Bionic burger with bacon, sauteed onions and cheddar. We both also got tots on the side. They were out of almost every beer we picked...kinda weird. The burgers came out perfectly cooked as requested. I remember the wine sauce being more prominent and now you just get a tiny cup on the side. That could just be 20+ years of forgetting reality. The biggest issue was the bad bun, by the time I got my burger the button bun had completely disintegrated. They did have an option of a pretzel bun, but often I find them distracting and overly bready. Both burgers tasted good and were more than enough to take home. it was also like $80 for the 2 of us, for Pickles, 2 beers and 2 burgerts....that was a bit much. The service was excellent. What a great place when it comes to atmosphere compared to the other location in Hoffman Estate. (Bonus, the staff is super friendly and made the experience great.) This one is up to date and nice inside. I know it's a new location so that's to be expected. As for food, I was in the mood for a char-broiled cheeseburger and thought this would be the place...Sadly, no. I started with an order of fried pickles and the plate was filled! They were good and crispy like they should be. I hoped there was promise when i saw there was a grill behind the bar. That was a pretty great feature. Our service was horrible. It was very slow. Then the burger was mediocre at best. Greasy, not very flavorful, a bit overcooked. It's like the server didn't want a tip and the restaurant didn't want repeat customers. The bun fell apart on the burger just a few bites into it. The burger was not medium. The wait for way too long. Too long before they came to take the order, too long after the order waiting for the food, and too long after finishing to get the bill. The ambience I liked, but we sat off in the all season section which was cute and decorated for valentines with hints left over of Xmas.. the tables felt small four our party of four and the chairs are outdoors chairs so comfy meh not so much for my senior momma and they needed some heat. Weird we were sat there since there was room inside. Moving on, the drinks were fine they have some good specials. I give a 3 star because they push the surcharge for the credit card on to you for 3% assumed when they give you the bill. I dunno how I feel about that. In addition they forgot our side salad and instead of giving a small discount they said we can box that for you. That doesn't go home well and not the point so apologize and do what's right for the customer. Thats the last customer experience touchpoint so end on a good note. read more

This location had some mixed reviews, so we waited a bit to try it out since it's opening. We really enjoyed our visit! We came in for the Happy Hours specials but also enjoyed a burger. Service at the bar was swift, with 2 staff members being very attentive. We ordered up some nicely priced draft beers at $3 each. We then had to put in an order of chicken fingers which we spotted being enjoyed nearby. Did not disappoint! Very generous portion, came out quickly, freshly made and served with a solid ranch dressing and we requested Bbq sauce as well. We decided to share a burger and I also ordered a cup of chili. The bartender proceeded to ladle up a cup, add the onions and jalapeños and then blanket it with cheese, put it on the grill to get it bubbling hot! Very nice touch that I appreciated. He then prepared the burger exactly to our liking. I was impressed with cooking skills combined with the bartending duties. It came out a perfectly medium, served on a nice brioche bun. A giant plate of fries came out from the kitchen to accompany the burger. Anyone who had a rough experience in the past needs to revisit. Was hoping for great food, some was good, some just ok, some bad. Son had ribs and enjoyed them. Fries were good. Daughter had a burger, it was just ok. I had sampler platter which we all shared. Potato skins were not cooked enough, potatoes were a bit hard. Chicken fingers were good. Cheese curds were awful, they were exploded, in a messy big heap, and sitting in a pool of grease. The manager asked how everything was and I said it was good except the cheese curds. He asked if I wanted a box, I said yes, for everything but the cheese curds. Wow! We grew up that n Hoffman Estates and the Assembly was always a favorite of ours! This place reminded us so much of coming back home to have a great dinner and food but the ambience was awesome! Mario was our server and he was exceptional! He was very kind and friendly, and very attentive, and made us feel at home! Tricia is the General Manager and she came over to our table and chatted with us a couple times, and made sure that our meal was exactly what we had ordered. Food was delicious! Disappointed. Service was slow, from seating us, to taking our drink order, to taking our order. It wasn't that busy on a Sunday afternoon. Food was mediocre, clearly it was sitting under the salamander waiting to be brought to our table. Bun/Bread was hard, cold on the edges, dry chips, warm coleslaw. The burger lacked the char crust, bacon was so hard it was almost impossible to chew. We had stopped going to the Hoffman Estates location for similar reasons and were hopeful the new location would bring back the good food we remember, not to be. Went there the other night with another couple, the Long Island drinks were on special so we ordered a round , they were bad didn't taste like anything resembling a Long Island, sent them back got two more little better but whoever was making them didn't have any idea what they were doing. My friend then ordered a cheeseburger with extra cheese, when it came it was just a plain hamburger no cheese, sent that back . I had the steak medallions salad wich was decent . Service was ok .
