My husband and I have been here twice for our monthly date night dinner. We were super excited to eat here as we enjoy the other Assembly. The first time we dined at The Assembly, our food was so salty. I mean, so salty, I drank more water at dinner than I ever drink. I usually don't give places a second chance; however, since I never had a bad meal at the other Assembly, I decided we needed to give it a second chance. The second time we went, the food was wonderful. We started with the zucchini app. So good! I had The Rachel with tots and my husband had a burger. Both were very good. I ate my sandwich for three days and it was great all three days. Service was great both times we visited and the restaurant and bathrooms are clean.

On a Friday in March we went to The Assembly in Dundee. We got fast attentive service at the bar, ordering a couple of the new-to-this-area beers, the Yuengling lager. Being a Friday in Lent we ordered the fish fry and a tuna melt. Both arrived in pretty short order. The fish in this perch fish fry was cooked perfectly and served piping hot. The tuna melt looked great too. I'd been to the location in Hoffman Estates many times. Seems like this one is consistently good too.

The Assembly is an excellent addition to Dundee. With the mall closed and the potential for the restaurants in the loop to be affected, head to The Assembly. They are known for their burgers, they aren't cheap, but they are quality and quantity at the same time. There is a cool center bar, sometimes the bartenders are also cooks, cooking up burgers and sides right in front of the U shaped bar. They have Bingo on Mondays, at 6. Prizes are often free for vouchers to The Assembly to be used within the month. They also have gaming. The staff is very friendly! Give them a try!

FOOD I had the "El Paso" burger and it lived up to the hype! Billy (the bartender and burger maker extraordinaire for the bar) said it was spicy and it was. My wife "built her own burger." She said it was excellent too! The draft beer was very cold. The water did not taste right to me but, my wife said hers was fine. The fries were very good (hot) too. SERVICE We sat at the bar and Billy was our bartender. He did a great job with the burger's and drinks. He was very helpful and knowledgeable with the menu. AMBIANCE If you have been to the old Assembly in Hoffman Estates the West Dundee one is quite a step up decor wise. It was 84° outside but, inside was perfect. I would definitely make another trip out here from South Elgin to eat and hang with Billy!

We used to go to the original location regularly but haven't been back in 20ish years. The new location is nice inside, and looks like they have a great patio. The menu is very burger centric as you would expect. We started with a very large order of fried pickles, they seemed to be homemade, they were very good. We ended up taking some home because there were so many. My wife got talked into the Parmesan burger and I went back to an old favorite, the Bionic burger with bacon, sauteed onions and cheddar. We both also got tots on the side. They were out of almost every beer we picked...kinda weird. The burgers came out perfectly cooked as requested. I remember the wine sauce being more prominent and now you just get a tiny cup on the side. That could just be 20+ years of forgetting reality. The biggest issue was the bad bun, by the time I got my burger the button bun had completely disintegrated. They did have an option of a pretzel bun, but often I find them distracting and overly bready. Both burgers tasted good and were more than enough to take home. it was also like $80 for the 2 of us, for Pickles, 2 beers and 2 burgerts....that was a bit much. The service was excellent. The waiter was attentive and nice. It was good, not great and the bill was a put off. But they still do have very good burgers.

Food was good! The drinks for Xmas were very cool and original. Especially the peppermint martini. The xmas bulb one was super fun!!! Service was amazing & the place is lovely inside. Outside, I really love the car murial. Very very cool. Can't wait to revisit. I hope they keep up the fun drinks!!

Doesn't have the atmosphere of the original. Drink prices seemed high. The burger was just average and the bun fell apart.

Overall the drinks were unique and fair priced to the quality and to other establishments in the neighborhood. Since it was early in the evening, the bar was a little bit quiet. As we were finishing our drinks, the staff informed us of the basement lounge seating. When we headed down, we were pleasantly surprised by the moody speakeasy feel and could see ourselves coming back on another day to relax in that space. Thank you to Foxy's Hideaway for opening and offering another great cocktail option in the neighborhood!!

Our bartender, Sarah, took great care of us, told us all about Foxy's, and made small talk as we enjoyed our drinks. I got the Dubai Chocolate Martini which wasn't listed on menu but she said has been a new guest favorite. I loved the sweet tones and presentation on the rim but it could have been a bit more spirit forward. My husband got the Passion Fruit Vanilla Elixir w Hibiscus Foam. It was refreshing but a bit tart; the foam had great flavor though! She also gave us some salt foam to try from another drink which tasted unlike anything else I've had before. I was happy we stopped into Foxy's to sample their cocktails and appreciate their sense of elevated cocktails for the area.

No accent lights or decorations, just a lot of tall plain walls. The items on the menu were very expensive, but since we had the gift card, we thought we'd indulge in a nice meal. Our server was polite, helpful and prompt in the beginning. I ordered a margarita and it came in an ice tea glass with 3/4 ice. For the price of it, I was disappointed it was so plain Jane and watered down. When it came time to order, I specifically asked for no pink to be seen on my prime rib. It arrived with a light pink throughout the entire serving. I didn't complain when she asked how our meal was. I simply asked for a take home container. I ate none of the prime rib. The potatoes were heavily over spiced. I could only take but a couple bites. Very disappointing. I thought I'd order dessert to pick my spirit up, but when the banana foster came, it looked like over ripe bananas in a bowl of liquid. They were slimy. I couldn't finish that either. The hefty bill came; for 2 entrees, 2 drinks and 2 desserts, it was $145. Wow!! At this point, our waitress Sarah never came back. She avoided us or any eye contact, so we had to take care of the bill at the bar. I stopped to use the restroom before heading home and half way down the stairs, there was an awful stench. Once I opened the door to the bathroom, the smell was overpowering. It smelled like backed up sewage. So, needless to say our first visit to Bleuroot was not a good one. My advice to you is save your money and find a less expensive restaurant with a cozy aura to it.

The food is consistently delicious made with fresh, quality ingredients. This past Saturday, I thought I would try something new & different. I usually order the skillets but this time, I ordered an omelette instead. I'm somewhat picky with omelettes because most places overcook the eggs but I thought I'd try one there. I got the Cali (Applewood smoked bacon, avocado, tomatoes, scallions and Havarti cheese) and I was blown away! All of the ingredients married very well together and the omelette was light and fluffy. I chose the herb roasted potatoes because I love them more than the hash browns. Sourdough toast dry because I prefer to spread my own butter and jam. It was cold out so my beverage of choice was hot tea. Our server asked if I wanted black tea. I asked what my options were and she brought out this beautiful arrangement of a brand called Tea Forte. I'd never even heard of them before but I fell in love with their signature pyramid infuser!! The ambiance is typical of a breakfast cafe. It was a busy morning so a bit loud but that's common for breakfast. The restaurant itself is cozy, bright & cheery. Comfortable seats in the booth. Service was outstanding. Our server was always available without being overbearing. He wasn't there when we arrived but as we were leaving, there was a pianist performing in the waiting area (which consisted of a fireplace (can't remember if it was real or not) & cozy chairs.
