Came here on a random Sunday during peak brunch hours at around 11:30 AM. Luckily we found some street parking but there is a parking lot in the back as well. That is also free. When we checked in, they told us the wait was 40 minutes. I have no idea what happened but they actually seated us in 14 minutes. The place was totally packed. It's very cute and it's decor and ambience. However, something really weird is happening with the ceiling tiles so not sure if that needs any type of attention or repair. The place is pretty expensive as well. The menu is decent for choices with lots of different choices frankly. What I don't like about the menu is that with some of the orders it literally only comes with one sausage link, which I thought was weird and it doesn't even give you the option for Patty or an option for more sausage links in the order you have to order it on the side. When the dishes came, it was also weird was that the bacon was as thin as paper so that was really a letdown hence part of the four stars. Our waitress though was absolutely fantastic very attentive. She did forget a couple things but that's OK. It was a hectic morning. I don't mind that and it doesn't bother me. The pancakes are delicious. Definitely do not taste like overly floured, which is great. I would come back, however I will also say that the Arlington Heights area has a lot of brunch breakfast places, and in order to stay relevant you have to be competitive and really up your game whether it's on the food quality the location the service something that really makes you stand out ahead above the rest. read more

Another strong option in a crowded Arlington Heights brunch market. This spot has some street parking outside the restaurant, but there's parking garages nearby that make it easy to park by here even if you have to walk a little bit. The decor is breakfast appropriate, not most decorated spot -- but good enough. Furniture is fairly comfortable as well, and the inside is not too loud even when fairly busy. Service is fairly frequent, and friendly. The menu prices here are very competitive, especially considering their location. Portion sizes are fairly large, though not enormous - but you can get sides such as biscuits and gravy, or fruit for the same price that you'd normally get toast. You can also get specialty pancakes for a small upcharge. The food here is prepared fairly well -- I enjoyed my corned beef hash skillet which wasn't too salty and wasn't overly oily. It was probably a bit simple in terms of preparation, but the ingredient quality was pretty good and the mix of flavors was good. The biscuits are quite fluffy here, with a gravy that's not too thick and not overly salty or peppery. The tiramisu pancakes were decorated very nicely, though the toppings and sauce were not bad -- but not as special as some other preparations I've had. The pancakes themselves were fairly spongy, though slightly dry. Overall, I am a fan of the menu here with lots of different sweet and savory options to fit everyone, and prices that are very reasonable for this area. read more

The Egg House has a great menu for breakfast and lunch. Traditional offerings and creative choices are likely to please guests again and again. Recipes and presentation tell me that getting the details right sit at the core of The Egg House philosophy. Coffee, a critical component of my morning (life), is a great cup time and time again! Bathrooms are great...which is a huge W in my mind. My hope is that you find this recent addition to downtown Arlington Heights a worthy choice in your repertoire for solid local eating. So, with everything going so well for The Egg House, why only four stars? It's a Five Star experience in menu choices, ambiance, service, presentation and recipes...no question. So disappointed with my experience at Egg House. They have two locations: Arlington Heights and Lombard. I have had this on my list to visit for a while after seeing rave reviews by others. The inside is very cute in its decor to appeal to all generations but the service style definitely aligns with a classic diner. We only waited about 5-10 minutes for a table to open up which is great for a Sunday! It took a bit before our server greeted us so we decided to order our food right away. The food didn't take long but items were not prepared as requested. Also, the house potatoes were smothered in onions which was not alluded to on menu. We ended up having 4 different staff members service us between ordering, filling waters, bringing our check, and getting a box. It felt a bit confusing and disconnected from a patron standpoint. Lastly, while the menu items come with a lot of sides, nothing left us feeling blown away. The food was ok at best lacking a sense of seasoning and flavor. Pros: I would highly recommend this place for their brunch menu! We got the mini waffles and the Avocado Benedict. The Avocado Benedict was really tasty but there was one egg in mine that didn't have that runny yolk consistency which I was kinda sad about. The mini waffles are AMAZING! Honestly I wish I had gotten the mini waffles with the fruits on top as my actual meal because having a bit from my son's plate, it was fantastic! The service was quick and the servers were extremely nice. The ambiance was nice, nothing over the top. They had fake leaves that were on the ceiling but that's pretty much it for the ambience. Cons: The house potatoes I received weren't as good as I hoped them to be. There were some burnt ones and honestly the onion pairing with it didn't go together. I don't know why it took me so long to visit Egg House but I went twice in 2 weeks because it was so good. The interior is totally redone and looks great. Booths against the walls and tables in the middle. Service was fast and friendly and they have a HUGE menu full of breakfast and lunch options. I visited Egg House a week ago with a couple of friends. They sat us right away and while the place wasn't super busy when we arrived, by the time we left, they were packed. My friend mentioned the location used to be the old Uptown Cafe. They made this location very cute with an Instagrammable back wall of exposed red brick and decorations adorned every spare section marking the holidays to come. I ordered a hot chocolate with the Hungry Man's Breakfast. My companions ordered coffee and the Denver omelet. The hot chocolate was huge, perfectly whipped with a nice drizzle of chocolate sauce on top. It was hot, but not burn-the-roof-or-your-tongue-hot. I got the eggs scrambled and dry. They were the fluffiest eggs I've ever had. The bacon was crispy (just how I wanted them) and melt in your mouth. I got them with their house potatoes and instead of buttered toast or two small pancakes, I got them with biscuits and gravy. The whole meal was delicious. Very fresh, eggs fluffy and flavorful. The biscuit and gravy were wonderful too! My friends got the omelet and shared it. They noticed that it was missing the cheese and let the server know who immediately removed the omelet to remake it with the cheese. The omelet came back within minutes and and was made correctly. The owner, Tony, then came by and brought them this beautiful plate of strawberry french toast. It was ooey gooey and on the house. They had to bring it home, but it looked and smelled yummy. When we got the bill, we weren't charged for their omelet or the french toast. It was a very nice gesture that they surely didn't need to do and we didn't ask them to remove the omelet. They were happy to have us there and we were happy to be there. And with all the breakfast places in the northwest suburbs existing and popping up, Egg House is a bright beacon amongst them all. This location was the former Uptown Cafe (most known to area residents). Egg House transformed the inside to a bright and lively restaurant for breakfast, brunch, and lunch. There's a free parking lot across the street when spaces off the street are full. Walking in we were welcomed warmly and seated immediately. They just had their soft opening on Wednesday 2/7. We were given some time to look over the menu. Hubby ordered the Strip Steak and Eggs with toast. I ordered the Country Fried Steak with Eggs and pancakes. The steak was food, it seems to be seasoned with Montreal seasoning which we can do without. We are salt and pepper, natural tasting steak people. It was cooked to a perfect medium rare! The eggs were good and the shredded potatoes were good as well, just a little overly cooked. My country fried steak was crispy and tender. Covered with delicious white gravy, just enough to keep it all tasty. Maybe a tad bit too salty but not offensive. What I will RAVE about are the pancakes! They are so light and fluffy with a slight hint of sweetness. They are so good! Served with butter and warm syrup! I will be back for the pancakes!!! I also want to try to Belgium waffles and the French toast! Our server, Maggie, was so attentive and sweet. I have been to Egg House restaurants in other locations and I wanted to try their newest restaurant in Arlington Heights. This new location did not disappoint. The new owners made some major renovations including hanging vegetation and a bright new coat of paint. They even brightened up the bathroom, which sorely needed it. I especially enjoyed the heater under the sink. Our server was nice and friendly and checked on us often. I had the chocolate chip bacon pancakes. The pancakes were malty and the bacon was crispy. My parents had tried this place over the weekend. It's brand new, tomorrow they will be open for a week. Safe to say we will all be going back! I went with one of my best friends this morning instead of going to our usual place. We were not disappointed! From the adorable decor to the super friendly staff and the delicious food I will definitely, as I said be going back! As the pictures will show you I decided to just go with the basic options for my first visit. They were done pretty perfectly. I have to say I think my favorite thing is that should you want something other than your traditional toast or pancake option with your eggs and sides, you can indeed get a biscuit and gravy. Which just happens to be one of my favorite breakfast foods and I usually have to choose between that and something else. The fact that I don't have to make that choice is pretty amazing! Now my only complaint, literally my only complaint, was that I wasn't offered cream with my coffee. That being said, it is a true testament to the quality of a product that they're providing , because this coffee diva was able to happily drink not one, but two cups of black coffee! Our server I believe her name was Lana was so sweet and I will definitely ask to be in her Section again next time! We had a great brunch here! I ordered the chilaquiles and my partner got the breakfast burrito. They were both really tasty! My chilaquiles were so flavorful, but there was so much salsa and toppings that there was no crispiness left to the chips underneath. The service was great and I really appreciate that our server had recommendations when I asked. The ambiance was nice, too (lots of wood and hanging plants). Just found this place by accident and wow, what a great! First and foremost, they gave FRESH SQUEEZED OJ. That's major for me. Second, they were playing 50s and 60s music. Another major plus. It was not busy and at least 3-4 servers were just standing near the front. I remained polite even though I was still receiving poor service when a four top was seated near me had multiple servers helping them pretty much immediately. Located in the former Uptown Cafe, Egg House is the newest addition to the Arlington Heights downtown area. On a Sunday morning at 9, it was quite busy, but we were seated immediately. The inside decor is clean and fresh. Our party of four tried a variety of dishes. I had the Egg Florentine Benedict with a side of fresh fruit. The benedicts were very good, and included three eggs. The tomato was fresh and flavorful, and the spinach was also fresh. Others had the Chocolate Chip Banana Swedish pancakes, three beautiful pancakes with lots of bananas and drizzled with chocolate. The steak skillet was in a large skillet topped with several eggs. I ordered tea and was presented with several teas in glass tubes , a nice way to present the selections available. Service was outstanding. Our server was very attentive and coffee refills were offered often. The manager stopped by to check in on us! By the time we left, the line was out the door!
