What a peaceful and delicious experience. I came to Egg House looking for a place to enjoy a solo breakfast and a good read, but I think I found my new favorite breakfast place! I'm quite picky about my chicken and waffles but it is a must try here!! My picture does it no justice! Service was friendly and food was ready quick. I have no complaints. I can't wait to come back!

Greetings! When a neighborhood standby calls it quits after years of being a fixture, all eyes will certainly be on the replacement...enter the Arlington Heights' The Egg House location. After a comprehensive, and impressive, renovation The Egg House basically took downtown Arlington Heights by storm. In the time since their open, The Egg House successfully grabbed the baton from The Uptown Cafe and is running on all cylinders. You walk in the door and the decor is fresh, fun, and inventive. Tasteful touches and smart seating layout make the space a great place to be! Service is exceptional. I appreciate the poise and polish of the staff training...Management knows their business well. The Egg House has a great menu for breakfast and lunch. Traditional offerings and creative choices are likely to please guests again and again. Recipes and presentation tell me that getting the details right sit at the core of The Egg House philosophy. Coffee, a critical component of my morning (life), is a great cup time and time again! Bathrooms are great...which is a huge W in my mind. My hope is that you find this recent addition to downtown Arlington Heights a worthy choice in your repertoire for solid local eating. So, with everything going so well for The Egg House, why only four stars? It's a Five Star experience in menu choices, ambiance, service, presentation and recipes...no question. However, in my humble opinion, it comes up a touch short in flavor development. I certainly acknowledge that favor impact is a subjective quality. That said, any Five Stars reviews provided by other reviewers are well-worth your consideration. A Five Star from me means I would eat the flowers off the plate and eat the dish all over again because it blew my mind right then and there. The Egg House has won over an adoring audience...let's see if they can elevate from their proven success down the road! Until next time...tk

The food and service was amazing! Christine took great care of us and we all enjoyed our brunch so much! We were in town for a ball tournament and we wouldn't hesitate to come back to Egg House. It was delicious!

So disappointed with my experience at Egg House. They have two locations: Arlington Heights and Lombard. I have had this on my list to visit for a while after seeing rave reviews by others. The inside is very cute in its decor to appeal to all generations but the service style definitely aligns with a classic diner. We only waited about 5-10 minutes for a table to open up which is great for a Sunday! It took a bit before our server greeted us so we decided to order our food right away. The food didn't take long but items were not prepared as requested. Also, the house potatoes were smothered in onions which was not alluded to on menu. We ended up having 4 different staff members service us between ordering, filling waters, bringing our check, and getting a box. It felt a bit confusing and disconnected from a patron standpoint. Lastly, while the menu items come with a lot of sides, nothing left us feeling blown away. The food was ok at best lacking a sense of seasoning and flavor. Hoping my experience is not the norm and we just didn't order right!

New owners running a great breakfast spot in downtown Arlington Heights. Highly recommend. I got the Denver omelet with the potatoes and biscuits and gravy. The biscuits and gravy was some of the best I've had in a while. You are missing out if you don't try it. The portions are huge so prepare to share! I was the only one sitting outside to enjoy the beautiful weather and service was amazing. Most of the time they forget about you but not here.

Service, food and ambiance were all fine. Pesto Chicken Panini was good. The only disappointment was that I asked if the fries were battered (which I don't like) and was told no, but they were. However they replaced them with a cup of soup without an issue.

Pros: I would highly recommend this place for their brunch menu! We got the mini waffles and the Avocado Benedict. The Avocado Benedict was really tasty but there was one egg in mine that didn't have that runny yolk consistency which I was kinda sad about. The mini waffles are AMAZING! Honestly I wish I had gotten the mini waffles with the fruits on top as my actual meal because having a bit from my son's plate, it was fantastic! The service was quick and the servers were extremely nice. The ambiance was nice, nothing over the top. They had fake leaves that were on the ceiling but that's pretty much it for the ambience. Cons: The house potatoes I received weren't as good as I hoped them to be. There were some burnt ones and honestly the onion pairing with it didn't go together. The bacon I felt could have been cooked a little bit more. Overall: It's a great brunch spot and I would highly recommend the waffles!

My friend got a scrambler and chose biscuits and gravy on top. There are several options for sides and she loved this one.

I don't know why it took me so long to visit Egg House but I went twice in 2 weeks because it was so good. The interior is totally redone and looks great. Booths against the walls and tables in the middle. Service was fast and friendly and they have a HUGE menu full of breakfast and lunch options. The servings were big and the prices were very reasonable for what you got. I'll keep coming back for more.

This location was the former Uptown Cafe (most known to area residents). Egg House transformed the inside to a bright and lively restaurant for breakfast, brunch, and lunch. There's a free parking lot across the street when spaces off the street are full. Walking in we were welcomed warmly and seated immediately. They just had their soft opening on Wednesday 2/7. We were given some time to look over the menu. Hubby ordered the Strip Steak and Eggs with toast. I ordered the Country Fried Steak with Eggs and pancakes. The steak was food, it seems to be seasoned with Montreal seasoning which we can do without. We are salt and pepper, natural tasting steak people. It was cooked to a perfect medium rare! The eggs were good and the shredded potatoes were good as well, just a little overly cooked. My country fried steak was crispy and tender. Covered with delicious white gravy, just enough to keep it all tasty. Maybe a tad bit too salty but not offensive. What I will RAVE about are the pancakes! They are so light and fluffy with a slight hint of sweetness. They are so good! Served with butter and warm syrup! I will be back for the pancakes!!! I also want to try to Belgium waffles and the French toast! Our server, Maggie, was so attentive and sweet. She checked back a few times to see if we needed anything and refilled our iced tea and coffee. I'm excited to try more items on their menu and look forward to their success!

This place is so cute! It's one of our favorite breakfast restaurants in downtown Arlington Heights. Major warning: when they say two eggs - it's actually four eggs!!! Double check with your waiter for a certain dish on this, but I would say this is awesome! They do not have oat milk for your coffee. Just a heads up. Everything else was good! Can't wait to come here again.

visited on a saturday morning before 9a and it was not busy so we were seated right away. right off the bat, the staff seemed very friendly. they asked if we wanted to sit at a booth or table and we opted for the booth. i ordered the corned beef skillet with scrambled eggs and pancakes. my husband ordered the steak skillet, sunny side up, with wheat toast. the food came out very quickly. the pancakes were smaller than other breakfast spots but they were good regardless. the skillet tasted good as well. my husband liked his steak skillet but his stomach took a turn shortly after and we're not sure why. overall, a solid breakfast place and we will be back!

My son chose Egg House for a special Mom/Son late lunch outing. He ordered the 2 + 4 Malted Pancakes and I ordered the Salmon Toast on gluten free bread with a side of hash browns. Everything was delicious and the service was perfect. Thanks for a special meal!

I have been to Egg House restaurants in other locations and I wanted to try their newest restaurant in Arlington Heights. This new location did not disappoint. The new owners made some major renovations including hanging vegetation and a bright new coat of paint. They even brightened up the bathroom, which sorely needed it. I especially enjoyed the heater under the sink. Our server was nice and friendly and checked on us often. I had the chocolate chip bacon pancakes. The pancakes were malty and the bacon was crispy. A win in my book. I highly recommend Egg House in Arlington Heights. I will be coming back to try of their menu.

I was not in the mood for a fancy breakfast so I went traditional, Two Eggs over medium, veggie patties (homemade), hash browns and pancakes with decaffeinated coffee with honey. The food came in a nice time, not too long and not too quick- enough to have a nice conversation while waiting. When the food came, everything was cooked to perfection. The eggs over medium, the hash browns were cooked and had that bit of crunch from the skillet. Pancakes were a nice size. And the veggie patties were tasty! The coffee with just honey hit the spot. It appears everyone else really liked their food as it was pretty quiet. Lol. I enjoy this place especially bringing family and friends from out of town. Good times and great memories.

Then Nevi appeared. Good God. Every civilization has one person capable of making you briefly forget your own name. Nevi was that person. She looked like the sort of woman who could convince a jury to acquit you of crimes you'd actually committed. As a waitress? Adequate. She took the order. She brought iced tea. She never once inspired me to write poetry about customer service. She wasn't bad, just operating under the unfortunate handicap of looking like she belonged in a magazine instead of carrying breakfast to hipsters with too much disposable income. The chicken and waffles arrived looking like they'd been designed by a committee of Southern grandmothers with a complete disregard for cholesterol or moderation. The chicken shattered under the fork with a glorious crunch that echoed across the room like a rifle shot at dawn. Juicy inside. Properly seasoned. No gimmicks. The waffles were exactly what waffles should be: sturdy enough to support a reckless amount of syrup without collapsing into emotional ruin. However... their syrup suuuuucked! I needed the godd**n jaws of life to get it out of the bottle as it limply drizzled in my waffle at the speed of molasses. The chicken & waffles though? Together they formed one of those rare culinary alliances... Just excellent fried chicken sitting confidently on an excellent waffle, as nature intended. Meanwhile, Nevi drifted through the dining room causing minor traffic accidents in the peripheral vision of every man under eighty. If she'd also been an exceptional waitress, there would've been riots. Five stars. Nevi was worth briefly reconsidering my life choices.
