Cracked Egg Burger a winner!
Raymond K.

Greetings! If you are looking for a SOLID choice for breakfast or lunch, point your car to Randhurst Mall and get ready to be impressed by the food, service, and ambiance you'll find at Grade A Cafe. Today I was there for lunch and decided that the Cracked Egg Burger was the way to go. Fresh patty, excellent house sauce (with quite a zip!), crisp pickles, and a quality bun. Solid effort! They also make a killer chilllaquilles with a great salsa verde...my go-to for breakfast...yum! Other menu items served at other tables always looks on point. They pour a great cup of coffee...better than most! Bathrooms are clean and fresh visit after visit. Service is attentive and focused. I hope you will see for yourself why Grade A Cafe is one of my regular haunts! Until next time...tk

This is your average american breakfast place. There are a lot of different food and drink options so there's something for everyone. I came on a Saturday and was seated right away. Our waitress was attentive and overall nice. The food order ended up being 2 smoothies (one banana, one pomegranate), french toast, and the farm stand frittata. The smoothies were good since they use frozen yogurt. The french toast had plenty of berries however they forgot the mascarpone so I had to mention that. Flavor was fine. The quiche frittata had way too much cheese and I had requested to go easy on it but they did the complete opposite. It was still good but I would probably try something different next time. The pancakes were standard. All in all, the food was pretty regular. The ambiance is clean and minimalist so it's a pretty casual atmosphere. This is a good place for a cheap american breakfast.

Solid option for breakfast if you're shopping at Randhurst. The prices are on average a little lower than other similar options in the area, but they don't compromise on portion size or quality. The menu is quite varied with everything from pancakes to waffles to omelets to skillets to sandwiches. The food is cooked pretty well here, fresh and hot. The flavors are solid, pretty similar to what you get at other similar restaurants -- maybe a bit less seasoned and less salty. Textures could be improved up on a little bit as there wasn't as much contrast on the crispy and fluffy items as I would've liked. With that said , for the price -- I don't have any complaints as it met all my brunch needs well. The dining room is also quite large and spacious with fast and friendly service. Overall, worth a visit if you're shopping in the area for a hot and delicious breakfast.

A good quality breakfast after a good pickleball session! Can go wrong with any of the food here. The service was kind of slow. The ambiance is great very open and welcoming for sure.

Came here on a Mother's Day so I expected it to be super busy and it sure was. Waited about 20 min to be seated which wasn't bad but the wait for the food was worse, about 40 minutes. I have to say the the breakfast skillets, I had the corned beef skillet was delicious! Service was a little spotty and they def needed more help and preparation for busy holiday. I'd probably come back for breakfast but it's really not a destination place to go. This place used to be the Eggsperience and it's pretty much the same stuff.

Grease A Cafe is a new and familiar restaurant at the same time. I have been to this restaurant before when it was under a different name. After having a delightful conversation with the manager, I learned that the chef changed the name of the restaurant in order to cook more to his personal style. I could taste the difference. I had the French toast waffle, which intrigued me when I saw it on the menu. This is their Belgian waffle dipped in their French toast batter. This was light and fluffy with a great taste. I highly recommend Grade A Cafe and can't wait to come back to try more!

I used to visit this particular location when it was Eggsperience. We used to really enjoy visiting that establishment. Looks like they basically repainted and sprayed everything for a fresh makeover. We arrived and sat down immediately. Service was good and our waitress checked on us several times. Food was passable but coffee was just a tad on the bland side of things. Eggs were OK. Hashbrowns were decent. But bacon seemed like it may have been sitting out for several hours. All in all I've had much worse, but I've also had much better. I think we're gonna take a break from this place. There are far too many breakfast joints in the region that are more impressive.

I LOVED IT HERE!! Me and my family got seated pretty quick and we were a party of 6! I met the owners of the restaurant and they both have such an uplifting personality so sweet and kind! I ended up getting the strawberry waffles with a Carmel frappe 10/10 combination. Overall 1000/10 would come again.

Nice place, your typical breakfast brunch menu. Modern interior. We were on a time crunch for a movie and were very pleased we were served quickly. All very tasty. I liked the iced shaken expresso.

Grade A Cafe replaced Eggsperience in Randhurst Village. The place largely looks the same, and has a similar, if not the same, menu. You can't go wrong with the chicken pesto panini, and their sides of fries are enormous. We snagged an outdoor table and enjoyed dining in the sun, with an umbrella to block the direct light. We were warned there were bees near the tables, but we only saw a couple and they didn't bother us at all. This place is a nice option for breakfast, brunch or lunch! Just note that it closes at 3:00.

We ordered some drinks (no one got alcohol) and some appetizers. We got the Low Carb Yuka Fries and while that is not my bag, they were good. I was pleasantly surprised. We also had the roasted red pepper spread, which everyone enjoyed. Two of us ordered the Ultimate Steak Sandwich. I opted to removed the caramelized onions. The other person let them on. I also removed the garlic herb sauce but replaced it with a chimichurri sauce. That really kicked it up a notch and was good for dipping the fries in. They're fresh cut fries, so they were good on their own, but the chimichurri again kicked it up a notch. We also ordered the chicken bowl, the avocado salad, and the Greek style lamb chops. We all loved our food and were too full for dessert. It's a quaint little place, cozy for intimate conversation or a night out with family and friends. I think the night was made a little more fun when a couple came in and was seated at a counter height table and were making out all night. It was a lot and gratuitous. The table next to them were visibly uncomfortable and that made it all the more enjoyable to witness. Dinner and a show. Who knew?

The bun was the first signal they knew what they were doing--lightly toasted, just enough structure to hold everything together without stealing attention. Then came the patty: thick, juicy, with that perfect sear that gives you a bit of crisp before it melts into richness. But the real centerpiece? The fried egg. Perfectly cooked--edges slightly crisp, yolk still runny. The moment you bite in, it breaks and seeps into the meat, turning each bite into something borderline indulgent. It doesn't overpower the burger; it elevates it, adding a creamy texture that balances the salt and char of the beef. The toppings were minimal but intentional--fresh lettuce for crunch, a slice of tomato for brightness, and just enough sauce to tie it all together without making a mess. It's the kind of burger that makes you slow down halfway through, not because you're full, but because you realize it deserves your full attention. Messy in the best way, rich without being overwhelming, and anchored by that fried egg that takes it from good to unforgettable.

For those who don't know, Small Cheval is the fast casual version of Au Cheval which I've had the opportunity to try in NYC. There's plenty of locations throughout Chicago so definitely make it a stop when you're in town. Now is it as good as Au Cheval? Definitely not but at one-third of the price point, it's hard to complain. The beef patties are well-seasoned with crispy edges and just the right amount of fattiness. My main complaint is that there wasn't nearly enough dijonnaise sauce or pickles, making this pretty dry. The bun was nicely buttered and toasted but almost took away from the contents inside the burger. The Famous Fried Chicken Tenders were also a good try. I could tell the chicken was clean & high quality but there was some flavor I couldn't quite place which made it a bit off-putting; thankfully it wasn't super noticeable especially with the sauces. The Golden Fries were delicious and paired well with the burger & tenders! Even the Cookies & Cream Milkshake was solid! Classic milkshake with a good balance of creaminess, sweetness, and texture from the cookie bits. The interior was also bright, spacious, and comfortable! All in all, really solid try!

It's like going to a burger place with a bar inside. I would also have to add with a side of a malt shop thrown in. The lady who took our order was very friendly. Both her and the guy making the shakes seemed competent and efficient. They were both just over worked. There was a rush when we came in so it put them behind. Everything was in good repair. There was no damage to the seats and tables and for the most part they were clean. The things that didn't work for me were the possible understaffing, and the lack of a good onion. I asked for raw onion on my burger. I inspected my burger for it and couldn't find it. So I asked for some more. She was very helpful and handed me a tiny container of minced onions. Apparently that's all they have. I do like a good slice of onion on my burger. If you're looking for a good quick bite to eat or a very tasty shake, this is a great choice! I would come back if the mood struck.
