Going to First Watch on a weekday is much better than going on the weekend. Weekends, First Watch is very crowded and there is usually a wait. I checked the app before we went for Friday lunch to get on the waitlist and there was no wait. We arrived and were seated right away - no wait. Service was very good this time. Our server was pleasant and attentive. I ordered the Power Bowl - quinoa, kale, Italian sausage, basted eggs, no cheese. (There is probably something I'm missing.) The portion size was good - I was able to finish the whole thing and not walk out uncomfortable. All in all, this was a very good experience. read more

Service can definitely be improved. Hire servers that will actually check on you after the food is served. Isnt that the bare minimum or have we lost that these days? Ambiance is wonderful. Clean. Food is delicious. Service just killed it for me. Will definitely not be going back. Wasn't even in the mood to take photos of anything to promote this place. read more

The menu here is just awful. How do you not have a single omelet that doesn't have meat in it ? Or at least a build your own option? Also- the iced coffee on the menu doesn't mention that it's sweetened. I sent it back. Will never be back. read more

Greetings, When I try to share the best of the best, I often find that one-off locations tend to make the most impact on me. The latter is what makes First Watch's Kildeer location even more impressive...a growing chain stakes its claim on my best of the best list for BOTH breakfast and lunch. I knew of First Watch in Florida...and I eyed their expansion into Illinois with some skepticism. I love being wrong...especially when a territory expansion seems to be so successful. Judging by the bustling buzz that seems to be the norm in the Kildeer location, I think the local fan base turnout indicates that First Watch earned respectable street cred within the community. Their outlot location just off Rand Road sits in a comfortably proud manner. Exterior decor and landscape tell you that a lot of thought went into design. The wonderful aromas of cooking that might greet you walking up to the front door tell you that you're approaching a serious contender for great eating. Inside decor continues the trend. Smart, clean, cozy, and inviting...all vibes I think are a treat to feel in a restaurant. Coffee= superb...every time. A HUGE bonus for me to enjoy. I bet you'll appreciate the mini thermos left on the table so you can self-medicate at your own pace... Menu offers impressive recipes with rotating seasonal options that are creative, not overdone, and tantalizing. The basics all look great, I tend to focus on the hash which is always Outstanding! This five star spot shines in flavor development. Each bite a medley of well orchestrated flavors. The seasonal SoCal hash I ordered was off the chart great but arrived at the table a touch cool...a very rare gaffe. Even the flatware and the service pieces impart a feeling of stepped up quality. The oatmeal and million dollar potatoes were wonderful. Service is among the best...staff hustle and get things right the first time. I appreciate the level of care given to cleanliness throughout, especially the bathrooms. I have a ten minute plus drive to get to First Watch...it's worth the trip every time...May you find it to be so for you when you decide to check out this bustling hotspot for yourself. If there is a First Watch location closer to you than Kildeer, go them a try as I bet it's great, too! Until next time...tk read more

First Watch - Socal Breakfast Hash...with amazing coffee in the background. - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Kildeer, Illinois

It is a family friendly restaurant was packed on the weekend. The wait time was about 10 minutes. The service was as fast as they can be considering the amount of people pouring in, yet the order taken and food received was accurate so no complains here. The portion size of food is good enough and options of fruit drinks were very new n trendy. A refreshing change if you don't want to opt to have your coffee and I chose not to have coffee today! Always enjoy the open floor plan so people are always around, for families with lil kids kids menu has cute options like chocolate chip pancakes :) Bill has to be paid at the cash register on the way out though but the feel is lovely and hustle n bustle is good for people who like to socialize. But , please make sure if you have kids then you must be sitting with a segregated table as the bench seats get connected o other family seating and some people might not be too comfortable but over all had a great experience very healthy option on the menu , food quality is great. read more

My Fiancé and I made an appointment to check out a wedding venue nearby, and decided to get some breakfast before our appointment. Our first time at a first watch, and I thought the restaurant looked very nice inside, very clean as well. Our server was great and helped show me the menu, and I ended up ordering an alcoholic beverage that sounded interesting, the cinnamon toast cereal milk, which was actually really good! (RumHaven Coconut Rum, cold brew coffee, oat milk and agave nectar) I do recommend! For food I ordered the chickichanga which was a popular item highlighted in their menu,it had chicken chorizo, green chilies, onions, avocado, so great if you like Mexican breakfast flavors. It also had a unique sauce which to me almost had a lemony flavor or limey, which did pair well. My fiancé got the asada hash which she enjoyed! And we shared a plain pancake since we were both craving a good ole pancake and syrup. Overall we enjoyed our breakfast and had some leftovers to take home, we would definitely come back to another first watch the next time we are craving some brunch.. read more

Return visit early on a Sunday morning. Service was excellent. Food I would rate as only so-so but okay. Presentation was very nice. Restaurant is clean and there's a lot of close in parking. I've been here several times and probably will return but it's not my top choice. read more

The place was clean and the food was really good. Fast service. The server did not offer us any drinks. I got the purple haze which was delicious and my husband got the sprite. The sprite was disgusting!!! It tasted dirty. I really think they need to clean their tap water machine and coke machine. Other than that, everything was perfect. read more

First watch is in a great location! Deer Park is an awesome area. The menu isn't too large which is nice as well. My husband and I arrived around 12 & had a 15 minute wait which wasn't bad. One thing to note though, is if someone joins the waitlist online they will be seated before you (which is frustrating). I ordered the traditional for brunch today what is offered is nice. However, the eggs were so oily I could only eat one of them. I wish they did not pre-butter the toast either because it was too much. I like the story behind their hot coffee. They support a great roasting company. However, I just don't think we enjoyed our breakfast enough to want to run back. read more

First Watch always delivers for a quick yet elevated breakfast experience. We were seated in under 10 minutes after jumping "in line" online. I've been eyeing the cereal milk cocktail for a while and finally ordered it. WOW! Wonderful balance of coffee, cinnamon and sweetness. The healthy turkey is my go to order and it never disappoints. The feta and caramelized onion really make this dish standout. Don't skip the wheat bread either, it's addicting. My husband enjoyed his farmhouse skillet too. Good portion on all ingredients. His bloody also included a HUGE bacon garnish which was a nice perk for him. read more

I met a friend at First Watch and we had an amazing experience. I love breakfast and order breakfast food every chance I get. Here I started with a hot chocolate. This was more than just a mix and water. It was rich any chocolatey. Big fan. I had the chocolate chip multigrain pancakes. These pancakes were huge. They only gave me two pancakes but I could only finish half of my meal. The syrup bottle came to the table warm. I like this touch. But they were delicious and hit the spot. Our sever was nice and friendly. I won't hesitate to come back and highly recommend First Watch! read more

The best thing about first watch is the drinks and the service but the food is always sub par. After receiving another burnt pancake and one slice of bacon ... I am done and won't be returning in person or online. Parsley doesn't make the food better guys. read more

We had visited a First Watch when we were staying with family in Florida, and very much enjoyed it - becoming one of our favorite places in the area. We found out there are several locations that aren't too far away from where we live, so we were excited to come and try the First Watch in Kildeer... This location absolutely lived up to our expectations! Service was fast and friendly, with our server paying attention to our needs without being overbearing. The restaurant is very well lit, has a nice open dining area, and seems meticulously maintained. Food was prepared quickly, but with no corners cut. My veggie sandwich was excellent, and I shared a fresh pressed juice cocktail with my wife. The prices were very reasonable for the quality of food and service we received. This location is pretty conveniently located, with lots of parking around the building. I have a feeling we'll be getting breakfast or lunch here much more often, before doing shopping in the plaza. read more

Very middle of the road breakfast restaurant in my opinion. Everything ordered came out as expected, however, nothing was memorable or impressive. There were plenty of open tables on a Sunday morning and service was good. I ordered the turkey gravy over a biscuit with potatoes and eggs. The gravy was very pepper heavy and the biscuit was more bready than flaky, but it was still tasty. The potatoes could be crisped up a bit more, but were seasoned very well. My friends enjoyed their orders and were satisfied. read more

Cute breakfast/brunch restaurant near Deer Park Town Center! We went pretty early (9am) on a Friday and there was no wait. I got The Trifecta, which is a fairly basic breakfast that includes eggs prepared your way, a breakfast meat, and a waffle or pancake. I opted for eggs over medium, bacon, and the Belgian waffle. Everything was prepared well and the food was tasty. The service was fine and our dishes came out pretty quickly. I enjoyed the whole experience, and I hope to come back and try more items on the menu. read more

Had brunch here two weeks ago and it was a very fun time! There will definitely be a wait on a weekend morning, but if you're prepared, it's not too bad. Our party of four all ordered differently, but I got the Traditional Breakfast, which was tasty, but I feel the portion was a little small. The atmosphere was pleasant in the dining room with lots of light and clean booths and tables. Nice place for a chill brunch. Great service, too! read more

Avocado toast with eggs and chicken mexican salad with Chipotle dressing were excellent. Eggs should have been served on top of the avocado toast. No biggie we put them on top. Price for salad was fair. $12.00 for avocado toast with eggs was a bit pricey. Service was good and seating was comfortable. Breakfast and lunch only. The restaurant closes at 230. Great selection of homemade fruit juice drinks. Parking o' plenty. read more

A very bright and cheery place to start your morning. The location was very busy, and there was a bit of a wait, but once we were seated, we were taken care of promptly. Our waitress was very nice. I asked her about a coffee drink and was on the fence about it, so she brought me a small sample. So sweet of her! The food came out quickly and was cooked just as Ai had asked. It was a very enjoyable experience and if I'm ever in the area, I'd go back. read more

This is one of my favorite brunch spots in the Chicago burbs. Love the spacious, family friendly, and welcoming vibe of this place. Open daily for breakfast and lunch this place is has something for everyone. We started with our favorite juices the morning meditation and purple haze. Both are so refreshing and is the perfect start to the day. We then ordered the smoke salmon and roasted vegetable frittata, eggs Benedict, veggie omelet and Chickichanga . Each of the dishes are a 10/10 and the portion sizes are great. Make sure to try the seasonal donut holes in the winter, they are delicious. Our server was friendly and super diligent in checking in and making sure everything was great. read more

Walking in, you are greeted with white walls in that modern country kitchen style. It is welcoming and warm. It feels like someone converted their barn into a dining room and invited all their friends. The menu is a bit too fancy for me honestly. All I want is a ham and cheese omelette with potatoes... not some fancy "bacato" with a lot of condiments associated omelette. I asked the bartender (because this place serves alcohol and I was sitting at the bar) if I could just get a ham and cheese omelette, and she replied with affirmation. The food came out and the omelette was a bit anemic. The eggs weren't very fluffy and the omelette wasn't rolled as a flat egg omelet normally is. Other than that the omelette was fine. The potatoes are the saving grace though. Those seasoned potatoes were delicious. The toast was what you expect for whole grain toast. Nutty, with bits of stuff. Not my preference. read more

we walked in and didn't get a smile or hello she just asked us how many then sat us down. the server and food was okay nothing really to complain about other than the fact that the server messed up the checks a little but not a big deal. went up front to pay and explain what was messed up and the host with the red hair had the worst attitude ever she was just straight up rude and looked miserable. I understand people have bad days or something could've happened but we weren't even asking for anything big we were just confused about something. I'm a host myself and I know that no matter what the situation is (which this was a normal thing that a host would experience) you being respectful and do it with a smile on your face. Then another host with shorter hair came up and helped us like any normal host would do. read more

This was a decent spot, good portions for some of the dishes. It gets really crowded inside, so you are sitting very close to the people next to you. Nice kids breakfast meals. The only thing that was off was my breakfast wrap, the picture on their site menu shows layers of turkey, but when you get the wrap I sent it back bc I could see no turkey in it. Turns out they place small pieces into the egg. It was okay but a little misleading as to what I thought I should be getting. They were nice and remade it for me anyway. Overall nice spot, good portions on most items. Can get loud if you are trying to have a conversation. read more

We stopped by for brunch on a Sunday afternoon and the restaurant was packed. The parking lot was super busy, but because it's in a strip mall area. When we walked in we were fortunate enough to be seated right away. We had a specials menu, and a regular menu. A lot of the menu items have a texmex spin to it. For my drink, I got the purple haze which has a beautiful shade of purple. It has butterfly tea and was the perfect refreshing drink. My husband and I decided to start with the million dollar bacon of which had a peppery and maple syrup flavor. It was delicious, and highly recommend trying if you've never had before. For my entree, I had the elevated egg sandwich. It was the egg version of a BLT, and it hit the spot! It came with their potatoes of which were super flavorful and hot! Our food came out pretty quickly considering how busy they were. They have tons of seasonal specials. Just a note that they drop the receipt and you take that to the counter to pay. At the cashier, I loved reading about their blue biodegradable straws. Super fun to see that blue is the new green! read more

This is a big, open, chain breakfast spot. They got great service and lots of menu options to choose from. They often fill up and have a waitlist. Quick tip - you can "sign up" for the waitlist on their website ahead of your arrival. I haven't done it, so I'm not totally sure how it works, but it's worth investigating to avoid a long wait. Here's the truth though - while I do like First Watch, there's nothing on the menu that I have to come back for. There are other options in the area that are far better at this price point and I'm genuinely always surprised how expensive this place is. Not worth another visit in my opinion. read more

unfortunately, we love the food and have lunch 2x per week at this location. However, today we joined the waitlist that said 20 to 25 minutes. Stood there for over 35 minutes watching people get seated and empty tables all over the restaurant. When I inquired at the 35 min mark, they said it would still be a while. however, people off the street went to check in and were told it would be about a 10 minute wait after we've been waiting over 30 minutes. Unacceptable And we will never return read more

Stopped in on Memorial Day Monday morning and there was no wait. We were warmly greeted by the hostess and our waitress. Atmosphere was so lively and warm, made for great ambiance. Food was very fresh and the portion sizes were great. Went with the classic Eggs Benedict. The hollandaise was creamy with a nice little burst of lemon. The egg was runny and added additional creaminess. The ciabatta was toasty on the outside with a nice little crisp to it and soft on the inside. Tomato was fresh and not soggy and the saltiness of the ham came thru. Overall every bite was. Seasoned potatoes were nicely seasoned and cooked well as good texture. The kids chocolate pancake was the same size as the adults, it was huge. Fresh squeezed orange juice was bursting with orange flavor. I always appreciate when they are mindful of kids and provide cups with lids and straws. Overall I love this place. Everything on the menu is superb. I unfortunately had a poor experience recently at the army trail location. Service was horrible. I was not greeted at my table for almost 15min until I finally flagged someone over. Thank YOU First Watch for sending us to Brunch Cafe (5 Star) It's unfortunate their management doesn't care about customers! Explained an issue experienced during our wait and even tried grabbing bar seats. Sat inside awaiting our name to be called OR a spot to open at the bar. While waiting, saw 2 couples take bar seats, prior to being able to get up there. Management explained, bar is first come first serve. When you have a 45 min wait, perhaps not everyone standing hovering over people at the bar is the best experience OR the fact you have to say excuse me to pay a bill! read more
