Love paletas and decided to stop by this location. I have not been to a La Michoacana Premium location but have been to the various La Michoacanas in the northwest suburbs. I can only comment as to the paletas as that is all I have tried at any of the locations. Ordering was a bit difficult as they did not have labels for the paletas and I can barely speak any Spanish. The staff was extremely kind and helpful so I was still able to order my usual, cream based mixed fruit. It was ok, had more ice texture to it and flavor and wasn't as creamy as I was expecting. Of all the La Michoacana locations I still find the Mt. Prospect location to be the best. read more

The same great flavors that I've come to expect from La Michoacana but with more than ice cream and paletas, including banana splits, milkshakes, crepes, yogurts, mangonadas, aguas, and more! As usual, the thing that really makes this stand out for me is how they use so much fresh fruit in their preparations with such reasonable prices, and how there's so many unique flavors available that are pretty hard to find anywhere else (like dragonfruit). The lines here are long, but they do manage to serve people fairly quickly and the space is pretty spacious so people don't feel cramped. I also like how there's a good amount of parking and it's not right off the main road so there's plenty of space to hangout outside as well. The inside of the store is clean and attractively decorated as well. The only downside I really experienced was not having the flavors labeled for the ice creams and sorbets. Fortunately, everything I tried was delicious, but it would've been nice to be able to check out all the flavors while waiting in line so that I would've been able to also save time in asking the staff while being served (that may have also made the line move even faster). Overall, delicious and worth a visit if you're looking to enjoy some sweet treats. read more

La Michoacana Premium - Palatine is the second La Michoacana location that I've been to. This location is much busier than the Des Plaines location and has a much wider selection. I guess that's why it's called Premium. We went with a group of friends and there was much confusion when we entered. There were no signs telling you where to go to order. We finally figured out that there was one line for ice cream and and a separate line for popsicles and fruit creations. There were no menu boards to tell you the prices. There were no signs on the ice cream cases labelling the ice cream flavors. There were QR codes posted on the walls. One QR code took you to their Instagram page and another one took you to their menu website. I tried ordering using their online menu, only to find out that they were out of much of what was advertised online. Once you get past the confusing layout and order food, you'll find a premium experience. The ice cream is very creamy and rich with flavor. The aquas are very fruity and bright. The banana split is a great deal for the price. At La Michoacana Premium - Palatine you will find the food and experience are premium, even if it is very frustrating to be able to order food. read more

I love this location of La Michoacana. The mangonada was the perfect combination of sweet and savory. The selection of pelatas were numerous here. I decided to go with the pistachio flavor paleta since it's my go to and has never let me down. The service was really quick and there's a a decent amount of space to eat your sweet treats inside. Went here for some Guanábana ice creme & when I tried the taster it seemed it was good. Decided to take a whole container, maybe container fits a liter and a half ., well once home we didn't enjoy it. It was more like eating sugary white gooey with some guanabana flavor . And NO it's not the fruit (it does have the fruit seeds). Well I had a bad feeling about it and decided to leave the container out to melt so that I could just toss it in the sink.. we'll 2 days later the So Called ice creme was still in the container and had NOT melted .... It became like jiggly white jello with bubbles.... Seems like it's juggle with sugar. There is no way this is ice creme. This seems like the fake food they're making nowadays. I can't speak for the other ice creme flavors. I don't foresee going back to check if other flavors are the same. Too bad there is no video option to upload. read more

Frequent visits to Ensenada MX have spoiled me when it comes to paletas- think fresh fruit blended and frozen into sweet sublime cream. La Michoacana is a chain which I've only seen in south Los Angeles and a couple cities in Baja California. So this long intro is basically to tell you... people of Palatine (and surrounding areas) please go here for amazing frozen ice cream and paletas. The other night I sampled the Oreo, fresa (strawberry), coffee, vanilla, and my all-time favorite nuez (pecan) paletas and they were all amazing. The fam bam was pleased and I wish I had more nights in the NW suburbs so I could try more of these tasty paletas. Highly, highly recommend this dessert spot to anyone passing through. There is never anything wrong with the popsicle bars at La Michoacana Premium. They are always fresh and delicious. I don't think they've ever had a freezer-burn taste EVER, and I have bought a lot of bars there. Their bars are even better than anything you'll find at a grocery store because they use fresh ingredients. That really makes the difference. Lol so i went back inside and i was like aww my fruit fell with a sad little face lol. This is my favorite Mexican ice cream shop. The ladies and gents are always so nice and helpful. It's right around the corner from home so I'm sure going to be coming here during the summer time if we get to see any hot sunny days lol. They remodeled the inside so it looks as if they just opened the store. It's always super clean and to top it off the mangoneadas are the best. I love this Michoacana and even drive 15 minutes from my home even though their is 2 other closer to me. TONIGHT! I had terrible service from one of the employees. Her name is GUADALUPE! She was so rude when I was ordering; even making snarky comments to the other employees about my order just simply asking for a chicharon prepared with all the toppings to be put in a small bag aside since im not going to eat in the car and dont want it soggy when i get home. I also asked for a regular elote and it seemed like she did not comprehend what a regular elote was... a regular elote does not come with hot cheetohs Guadalupe; even her co-worker told her that so she just made herself look dumb. It was taking everything in me to not snap at this person or just leave without paying. Very disrespectful. La Michoacana is a refreshingly fun new stop on my family's rotation of weekend snack joints. The homemade ice cream is both insanely delicious and a little challenging. The pine-nut ice cream, for example, is an acquired taste, as are the spiced-pineapple popsicles. No worries, as the friendly staff allows generous sampling. My kid is nuts for the strawberry ice cream. Most of the staff speaks English, but it's no real hassle even if your service person doesn't--for ice cream, pointing works. The joint is clean, bright, and friendly, the prices reasonable, and the frozen treats tasty. Note: Parking is a hassle warm weekend afternoons and early evenings. Just found this place! We've been in BG for 3 years and i couldn't find a decent ice cream parlor. Decent ice cream shop= sweet clerks + amazing & unique options + plenty of seating + venue. I guess you could call me a thirty-something foodie/hipster. But i really get excited for unique foods. You gotta try the ice cream (paletas) bars. They are in the front two ice cases by the door. These cases hold my new treasures. Unique bars like cappuccino filled with chocolate syrup, or pina colada with an actual cherry attached to the bar. My favorite, i know it sounds weird, is the pine nut bar. They have about 30 more options to please anyone. I know my mother would die to try to Cheesecake flavor. And if you are a boring, mid-west dude like my husband, there are another 3 ice cases full of self serve. These include his favorite chocolate and cookie dough. But they have other flavors that even this white girl hadn't a clue about. I will be coming here weekly this summer to try each and every flavor. You wont' be bored here. So this place is 2 doors down from a good taco place, if you want to grab dinner before dessert. The ice cream shop has benches in front for people watching. This is my favorite La Michoacana location ever! Ive visted many other locations closer to the city since Ive moved but nothing compares to the prices at this location. You can get a double scoop waffle cone here for $2.50! And you can mix and match different kinds. And they big you really big scoops, unlike other locations where you get tiny scoops and they charge $5 for double scoop. Ice cream flavors are better than what you can find at the store. I absolutely love the strawberry cream cheese flavor, I get it everytime. I also like the coconut cream and mango flavors. Their Elotes is also very good, although it takes some time to make. It can get very busy at certain times, but not as bad at locations near the city. read more

I've been going to this place since it opened up. It's always been a somewhat pleasant experience going into the shop because the employees range from young teens to adults and so do their moods, the portions used to be great but today I went in and my ice cream cup was missing almost an inch from the top I obviously pointed this out and before getting a reply the manager(a kid that looked 17) came out and said the correct portion was at the rim of the cup, anything above the actual cup-not the dome lid-was their generosity. This place has just been ridiculous since COVID-19 started. They have stayed opened and have been horrible, they don't care about customer service at all!! They understandably only allow a certain amount of people inside, but create a huge line outside with a minimum wait of 20 minutes. Tonight they didn't have the decency to come out and say "we will be closing in 7 minutes, so those in line that have been waiting will be the last to be served", instead they had someone come to the door and say they are no longer allowing anyone in. It was 7 minutes before closing and about 5 people waiting outside 20 minutes. They take extremely long to serve the people inside although they have about 5-6 women working there. It seems they only care about the phone orders, every time I've gone you have 3 of them working on phone orders and 1 on the register. That only leaves 1-2 at most to help the people present. There is two specific workers that (might be in charge) are extremely rude and don't care about customer. I guess this business is worried about closing before closing time and turning away customers! I wish I could have given them zero stars after a few horrible encounters with them. Most of them are natural flavors and are made on a daily basis. They also have them in a form of a popsicle stick. It can be broken down into two categories- milk based flavors and water based. The milk based flavors are a bit pricier but not by much. They do let you sample the flavors so it's worth a shot! It is in the Latino community so you will see this place swarming with families in the afternoon. I usually try to go on the "off" hours since I take forever to order and decide a flavor.
