We ordered from the touch screen and none of the drinks could be customized for sweetness and the coffee could not have boba added so I had to physically give extra cash to the employee after I finished my transaction on the touchpad. Really love this place! The inside is super cute and modern. Came here with my niece as she loves their smoothies. I've got to say I was not disappointed! The guy who took our order was very knowledgeable on their menu items and gave us the run down on everything. I love bubble tea and what I like about this place is that they also have little boba flavor "poppers." They seriously have so many flavors to choose from, including dragon fruit, strawberry, and lychee, just to name a few. They're a lot thinner than the tapioca balls and pop in your mouth. It was very entertaining for my niece lol. They also have Vietnamese teas and coffees on their menu. I'm sure they're great - our smoothies were nice and refreshing and tasted very good. I am very impressed. The minute I walked in I got a sense of a comfortable environment filled with family vibes. The colors of the wall are white and nice decorations that enlighten the room. I ordered the jasmine milk tea with boba. The size is a healthy serving. I like the design of the cups and the amount that you get. The boba was soft and chewy and made for a great taste alone too. Cute little place that reminds me of the options along Milwaukee avenue. This restaurant has a nice assortment of milk teas, Hong Kong style waffles, and smoothies. Service isn't the fastest, but this isn't too surprising given the restaurant's focus on making items from higher quality ingredients (instead of powders) and the willingness to serve Hong Kong style waffles. The dining room is nice and spacious, with a fairly low noise level so it's easy to carry on a conversation or work on your laptop while casually enjoying some drinks. Parking is pretty easy in a lot that isn't typically too busy. The drinks aren't too different from what you'll find at other boba tea options nearby, somewhat similar to the options available at Fresh International Market. The bubble waffle is a bit more unique as I think Hangout Cafe is the only other place nearby to find something similar (or Japanese style at Mitsuwa). It's a bit "Americanized" for me, with toppings, syrups, and flavor combinations that remind me of what you'd find at a breakfast restaurant nearby instead. I would have liked options such as mango, dragonfruit, matcha, or other Asian inspired flavors. With that said, I enjoyed the waffle, but it wasn't amazingly good. Delicious, refreshing and friendly. I haven't had fruit teas in awhile since I feel tea bars are often in malls. Super convenient location wise since it's next to the nail shop I'm a regular at. I wanted something different from coffee as a pick me up and this quenched my thirst. The majority of the fruits they have are fresh which made a difference in flavor. There wasn't a gross artificial/fake taste. I got the mango tea which also had real mango pieces nice perk. Service was great, really nice efficient staff. We stopped by on a Friday night around 8:30, and the place was still bumping by the time we finished our drinks and waffles. We ordered the strawberry cheesecake speciality waffle and the Oreo speciality waffle. It did take some time for the waffles to come out, but it's because they were made fresh! The bubble waffles had a really fun texture and it was a lot simpler to eat because the bubbles are easier to cut than a traditional waffle with ice cream. The blend of brown sugar with the coffee was a perfect pairing. We also had Peach Tea with Mango Boba. The peach tea tasted like perfectly ripe peaches, sweet with a slight tartness. Their boba was fresh , smooth and perfectly chewy. Their prices are reasonable, especially since the drinks are larger than most. If I could give zero stars I would. I've been here twice now, the first time I gave them the benefit of the doubt. There was one girl working and there was a line. Both times took forever. Definitely in my top 3 when it comes to Bubble Tea places in Illinois. Yep you heard me, not just Schaumburg, not just Elk Grove, not just the suburbs but all of Illinois. I'm pretty picky when it comes to my bubble tea. I like places that can do actual fruit teas and at BoBar you can order one with 2 different flavors of your choosing. My go to drink is the Passion Fruit and Dragon Fruit tea with rainbow jelly and mango popping boba with 50% sweetness. If you're not huge on sweet stuff, get a different flavor. They have so many different varieties of drinks including Hot Chocolate, there should be something on the menu that you or someone you bring would like. On top of the drinks they have some small appetizers as well like mozzarela sticks, egg rolls and much more to list. One of these days I'll want to try one of their speciality waffles because those sound pretty dang good as well. They have 2 locations as well not too far from each other and both are great. Phenomenal staff and drinks at both. There's 3 places I really like Bubble Tea in Illinois and its in no specific order: Bobar, a place in Niles, and a place in Chinatown. I took my brother here. We both had the classic milk tea. We both loved it. The cups are really nice, I'm going to wash them and reuse them lol. My brother also ordered Nutella waffle with bananas. It was really good however they served it with cheap plastic fork and knife so bad that he had a very hard time eating the waffle (waffle was cruncy crispy)his icecream melted he was still trying to cut it while they were bending in his hand. When I came inside I wasn't greeted or acknowledged by the staff, who were busy looking at their iPhones with their backs to the entrance and register. Eventually one of the staff glanced and noticed I was waiting. I was spitefully greeted and he took my order. I noticed after they were done ignoring me, they did not wash hands or wear gloves after touching their iPhones! Not only that, but they handled my cash and then did not even sanitize their hands afterwards when making the drink! BIG RED FLAG! Drink tasted OK. Matcha was more of a soapy, floral taste rather than an earthy, matcha taste. He only filled the cup 3/4 (probably due to no ice request, signs of cutting corners). I've come here about 4-5 times since this place opened and have tried out quite a few different drinks. So far all the smoothies have been great as well as the classic milk tea and thai milk tea. The other milk teas have had very little flavor which is sad, my husband and I tried the coconut milk tea, taro milk tea, and matcha milk tea, and they were terrible, we didn't even want to finish them. The boba has both good texture and flavor, lychee jelly and aloe as well. It's a new place and I'm sure they will improve. It would help if they had a dress code and were all on the same page, because I've had a drink twice and it didn't taste the same at all.
