Ambience- might as well start here - we showed up at prime dinner time- just after 6pm on a Sunday night. We waited in a somewhat unkempt restaurant while the cashier finished up the order of the person we were waiting behind. But then we waited a couple minutes for her to finish up.....sigh. Ok - when we finally started the order (2 smashburgers; hold the red onions on both; one with tots; the other with sweet potato fries..... I wanted a beer. The menu board had beers (Coors light, Dos Equis, and - I think another one) - but they only had a couple beers on tap instead- so i got a Sam Adams Seasonal. We paid up, got our number....hubby got a water cup, and I left to sit down, bereft of beer. Sigh. Ok- while I went to the loo to do my BIZness, I noted it was dirty and hadn't been cleaned for hours. Not a good sign- if the loo's dirty? Yikes. Likely the kitchen isn't too clean. But still - we waited. Finally, 18 minutes after we ordered (and it wasn't like it was an extremely busy restaurant), the food arrived. The Smashburgers were good. Yay. The tots? Not so hot. I mean, at all. Lukewarm at best. OOH. Not good. Taters hold heat. But these tots were not hot. At all. The sweet potato fries were- thank goodness - fantastic! Ok- but what was wrong? the beer, when it arrived at the table with the food? Was not in a glass (and they had glasses available). Instead, it was in two paper cups. Worse, the rim of the cup tasted like a bit of a deli stand- meaning the person who poured the beer held the cup w/o washing up first. Yuck. Yuck. YUCK. So here's the thing- dirty loo and restaurant - that's a concern. Slow service- another concern. Worse to me? The beer after-taste on the cup and the tots that weren't hot. Not a good thing. Ok, Smashburger. Not sure who your franchisee is here, but the team there was "not" well-organized. There was no sense of "hustle". And I should have been served the beer at the time of the order, right? When hub-hub got his water then, and I didn't get my beer? Oh my. My husband and I got the double original smashburger and our kids got the truffle smashburger. All burgers were great but the fries were cold and stale. In town for the holidays and my SO wanted to try Smashburger. That was a huge mistake! He ordered a burger and tots and they were quickly served. However, the onion, tomato and pickle were not on the burger as indicated. Also there was no ketchup or mustard on the sandwiches. Thankfully they were both on the table. I was forced to wait for my burger and fries which were not delivered until he had finished his meal. My burger, once it was delivered, was lukewarm and no longer tender. Likewise for my fries which were soggy. That's what 15-20 minutes on the counter under the warming lights will do. My burger was served with no onion or tomato and was less than desirable. I tried to eat it but couldn't. Obviously we won't be back. We live in Florida and had our meals been delivered on a timely basis, we would visit your Florida locations. I heard great things about @smashburger from several people so I decided to try them for myself. Took a ride out to the Schaumburg location on Golf Road. We had the following:  A smoked cheddar brisket burger with one patty. A smoked cheddar brisket burger with double patties. A truffle Mushroom Swiss burger. A spicy Baja with black burger. Sweet potato fries. The single patty burgers are huge, you need to be extra hungry if you order a double patty burger. Although they classify smash Burgers as "fast food", I would prefer to call them fast, deliciously satisfying food. Awesome signature Smash Burgers! Their burgers are made with certified Angus beef and there are many choices on the menu. Sweet potato fries are delicious and a large order is enough for two people to share. Service moved surprisingly fast for the amount of people that were ordering that day. The location was very clean and all employees were wearing gloves and masks. It's been awhile since I had a burger so I thought it was a good time to finally try Smashburger. I was told it was almost ready when I went to pick it up and my alert said it was ready. However I ended up waiting another 20 minutes for the food to be ready. I kinda lost my appetite by then and decided to eat it for dinner rather than lunch. Food was great! I love that they were quick and had healthier options! Vegan, vegetarian, GF, and lower carb options were available- love it. Burgers are smash like meaning no temps! I had been to a Smashburger in Schaumburg a while back when there was one on Golf Road by Plum Grove Road. I didn't know Smashburger was still around. I recently checked out this location. I ordered a single cheeseburger, a single turkey burger and haystack onions to go. I received good service. The restaurant layout was good and the signs for where to go order and where to go for deliver/ pick-up were clearly placed. The detailed menu was on the board above the cashier counter. The staff members at the ordering counter were knowledgeable and helpful. Their menu has a good variety of items to choose from. They offer single patty and double patty Beef burgers (w/ varieties) as well as Black Bean, Chicken and Turkey burgers. They have sides and salads options as well as a Kids Meal menu. They also have a variety of beverages, Haagen Daas ice cream milkshakes and even, breakfast items, on the menu. And as for the food, the cheeseburger and the turkey burger were tasty; however, the haystack onions left me wanting for something better. They were cooked okay but the flavor was a miss. Parts of the haystack had no flavor (in terms of the seasoning) and other parts were a bit salty. I also had their single spicy baja with guac burger and smash tots which were complimentary as a part of a Yelp Elite perk event. The smash tots were super oily and salty. My wife and I both agreed on that so it wasn't just I that felt that way. And mind you, I am not salt sensitive or anything like that. My burger was cooked properly and it had a nice kick to it as well; however, in occasional bites, it tasted a bit salty as well. I wasn't really impressed by the food, I had. It was so-so at the best. Overall, I decided to give it four stars based on the menu variety, pricing, the service and food. If rating just based on the food then I would give only three stars. New location in Schaumburg! When we walked in the staff was so attentive! Everyone was taking safety precautions and had on masks and gloves. They had sanitizer on the table as you walked in also. I ordered the Avocado Club Burger with Smashfries. My fiance ordered the Breakfast Burger with tots. The Avocado Burger was really tasty, I would get it again! The fries and tots had a little too much salt for our liking. Overall things were good and we had a wonderful quick lunch. I dined here for the 2nd time today, this past afternoon! What brought me here was an email that offered a 50% off discount on any burger! So, I ordered online, the Double Truffle Mushroom Burger (which I customized by adding bacon, extra Truffle Mayo, jalapeños, and grilled onions)! I also had a side of Smash Tots and a side of Crispy Brussel Sprouts, plus 2 bottles of Coke! My order was accurate and ready on time! I ate my order in the restaurant, which was (like last time), nice and clean and relaxing to dine in, since they also played cool tunes overhead! Ordered from there yesterday (placed order online and went to pick up) received a text message saying your order is ready so to my surprise when I got there it wasn't even started I gave the cashier (a big man) my name for the order and he said it would be right out. I sit down and wait thinking no big deal - 25 minutes pass by and I go up to him again and ask how much longer as I had to be somewhere he then asked well what did you order- ummm did we not just have this conversation a HALF HOUR AGO!!!! I told him he then proceeds to point to bags that are sitting on the counter for maybe 10 minutes I said don't you think you could have let me know it was ready. Based on that I got a Classic Black Bean Burger with fried egg and Regular Smashfries. They had plenty of outdoor seating which was vacant. I had to wait for 15+ minutes for my order to arrive. First, the burger presentation was tempting but the size was a little small for the price I was paying. The burger seemed fresh and was very tasty. Adding egg to it made it taste amazing. It had black bean patties, cheese, and lettuce. All the ingredients were sealed nicely between the patties. Then, as I was eating the burger, on the side I had the smash fries. The quantity was satisfactory, and the taste was good. The fries were crispy, not too oily. It was made from rosemary, garlic, and olive oil tossed together. Overall, the experience was good. The customer service people were nice and knowledgeable. The restaurant was clean and organized very well. The food was tasty, and the presentation was good. The location is so busy that sometimes it's difficult to find a parking spot closer to the restaurant. When I go next time, I will check out their combo and other vegetarian options. Dined here last night (Wed. 8/14) for the first time ever! In brief, I loved the food and service and plan on coming back! Placed my order online for pickup then ate it inside! I ordered the Double Colorado Burger and added grilled onions and bacon to it! Loved that it came with Pepper Jack Cheese and chiles, since I'm huge into spicy food. The burger was tender, juicy, fresh and nicely big (I could barely get my mouth around it) - which was great! I also ordered the Smash Tots (which were flavorful, perfectly crispy and crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside! I also ordered the Crispy Brussels Sprouts which were flavorful and had a nice crunch to them! Last, I ordered the Tractor Strawberry Dragonfruit for my drink -- it was really good; I should've ordered 2! Anyway, this is my new favorite burger place! Always drive past here but never had stopped. I went inside with my family and they have everything you want. They have hamburgers, turkey burgers, salads, chicken wings,chicken sandwiches, beer, shakes, fries and tots and they have bean burgers as well for whoever likes them. I got the brisket burger and added the jalapeño peppers to it. It was a great burger with two big pieces of bacon, briskets and two patties and cheese. The taste was amazing. My son got the Mac and cheese burger and I tried a piece it was good. The classic hamburger is great if you not looking for anything different. The fries and tots have a different kick to them and they taste so good. I recommend which ever your favorite but the taste is great. The inside is super clean the staff is super nice and helpful they deserve a nice tip and I did tip them and it's nice too know they get the tip even if they have to split it between who ever working the shift. Thanks to Yelp and Smashburger for the Elite perk opportunity for my first visit to Smashburger in Schaumburg. I was a little surprised to see this site open since the last Schaumburg Smashburger that used to be on Golf road, not far from here, closed several years ago and never seemed that busy. But hopefully they will do well in a spot close Woodfield Mall and the busy intersection of Golf and Meacham roads. This is a tough area to compete with so many similar food options nearby, like Shake Shack, Wise Guys and Portillo's and more. But I think the taste of Smashburger and healthy portions make it a good contender. The food was very fresh and tasty. Service I experienced wasn't the fastest or the friendliest but the quality of food made up for it and it was worth the wait. I'd like to return and try other items and perhaps breakfast here too. I was so excited to hear they opened up a new Smashburger in Schaumburg via a Yelp event. We always loved the Smashburgers in Deer Park and Arlington Hts but both sadly closed down, so I was happy we had another Smashburger relatively close by. I came on Sunday around 6pm, it wasn't busy probably because of the Super Bowl and it was ridiculously cold outside! The workers were welcoming and I really appreciate the sign recommending all customers use the nearby hand sanitizer before and after using the credit card machine-wish most establishments did that! I ordered the brisket, bacon burger special per the recommendations of the employees and a side of the roasted Brussel sprouts-I couldn't wait to try them because I absolutely love roasted Brussel sprouts :-)  I also ordered my kid's favorite Smashburger classic burgers with cheddar cheese, their plain & Smash thin crispy fries and the kids chicken tenders with tater tots & chocolate milk. The brisket bacon burger on the brioche bun did not disappoint, it was very tasty and I highly recommend it.  The roasted Brussel sprouts were amazing, they were seasoned nicely and charred perfectly crisp just the way I like them! No surprises with the burgers, one of my boys' favorites in terms of fast food burgers! We just love how their burgers taste! Their thin fries were crispy and good, the Smash fries were tasty with the rosemary seasoning.  My daughter was thrilled with the tator tot sides with her tenders.  Smashburgers have the best sides!! This place was hopping for a Friday lunch! The food was delicious and fresh. The staff was clearly very busy keeping up with the orders but one particular employee stood out to me. She had glasses and chin length gray hair. The name on my receipt said her name may have been Kathleen? That woman is amazing. She was working as a cashier handling the line, she was working expo, she was wiping off tables... she seemed fully aware and in control of everything was happening in the dining room and in the kitchen and truthfully, she was ABSOLUTELY KILLING IT.
