Love dining here especially when my blood sugars are high because it is virtually no carbs when you eat the sub in a bowl without the bread! Love these! Got to come here and give them a try! Fast and friendly service and the dining room is always clean!

Jersey Mike subs are tasty, just not as stacked with meats and veggies as I remember. It's not like I've been going to Jersey Mike's for years...like most people, we went to Subway since they were everywhere, and if you connected with a willing 'sandwich artist', you could really stack your sub with a vast variety of veggies. The meat quality was meh...but c'mon...a foot long cost $5. Then Jersey Mike's came to town, and the first time I ate a sub, it kinda blew my mind. Yes, it took a long time to make, but they put so much meat on it...stacking it like a local sub shop would for a loyal customer. And so much lettuce was put on without asking, and drenched away with Mike's way (oil, vinegar, and spices). And the first few times, we went it was consistently this way. Something's changed. They still slice the meat and cheese when you place the order. But the quantity is so much less. They do have a double meat option...maybe that's what has taken the place of a standard now. It's still a good sandwich, but subway is more filling and has more toppings. One good thing is that they are way faster than before in preparing (not as freaky fast as Jimmy John's). But I would take the slowness if I could get the meat quantity like before.

I ordered online and it was easy and user friendly. They do have a rewards program - I recommend signing up for it if you plan on getting jersey mike's often. They provide an estimated ready time and it was accurate! The inside is a small sandwich spot, there are a few seats to dine in and also a 'to go shelf' if you order online. As far as the sandwich it was too oily for me and pretty bland. I do like how thin their deli meats are cut and the portions are pretty generous.

Once again bad sandwich I ordered chipotle turkey and nothing tasted like chipotle just a bland sandwich not even mayo. All 3 sandwiches had no mayo

I've been to Jersey Mike's a few times now and I'm not a huge fan or a huge hater either. The workers are always very friendly and nice...but they won't let me get a kid's meal! I realize I'm not 12 or under but most quick service places usually don't have an issue with me ordering the kids meal. Like Meatheads which is right around the corner from Jersey Mike's. Their subs are good but I don't see anything outstandingly amazing about them. I usually get the ham & cheese which never disappoints. Their menu is a little confusing as they have all these different sizes of subs and way too many options. Honestly, I'd rather get my standard sub from Subway or more delicious subs from Rammy's. I'm sure I'll be back though as it's close to work for my lunch crew and I.

So, I'm going to open this update review up with a little positive thought. You know how sometimes you may wonder "Hmm, I wonder if the owners of the businesses I Yelp about ACTUALLY listen/read my Yelps and actually do something about it or at least address them? Are my yelps falling on deaf ears(blind eyes?)" Well, flashback to yesterday where my husband and I were wondering about a dinner option on Sunday and I off-handedly mentioned Jersey Mike's.....(yes, again! Please note past update review a few days ago...) Since I am the type of Yelper that likes to try EVERYTHING about a new store/restaurant out to give it a thorough review for those who actually read the Yelps and know what they are in for...I figure, eh, why not? I wanted to try their Albacore Tuna Salad sub and my husband wanted the Italian sub that I had the last time. Soooo...I walk in at about 7:45pm....I see that a employee is working on a catering order of about four large sandwich boxes with at least a dozen or so subs being cut and wrapped into neat little hand-sized sandwiches for party type consumption. I was wondering if I was going to wait a bit since it looked like they were working dilligently on the order as it looked to be due to be picked-up soon. It only took less than a few minutes when a smiling helpful employee greeted me(twice!) and asked for my order. :) I gave him my order and he started to fervishly make my husband and my subs. As he was making the subs, he asked me "Ok, this is going to sound kind of weird, but.....do you go on Yelp?" (!!!!) I said "Yes, I do!" :) I was actually surprised he acknowledged me because apparently he recognized me from my profile and my Yelps of the shop. His name was Dan(Hi Dan! *wavewave*) and he was the Assistant Manager on-duty that night. He was very enthusiastic about Yelp and thanked me for my positive Yelps for Jersey Mike's. I also found out that his co-worker, the employee on the catering order was named Ryan. :) So, to those Yelpers who mentioned the employees not caring or somesuch(I forget). I say to you, NAY! That is not true in this case. From the three, separate times I've been in Jersey Mike's Subs, at opening, lunchtime, and evening, I've always been served promptly. Anyway.....as for my subs....the Albacore Tuna Sub was very yummy and not as "oniony" as the OTHER sub shop (*cough* Jimmy Johns *cough*) I enjoyed it, but I will have to try it again to get a better view of it as I am not sure if it is me or the tuna salad. Ahem, I'll just leave it at that. :) As far as taste, it was great! :) (sorry for the TMI there!) Overall, third time's a charm! :) Great, enthusiastic employees...hmm, maybe next time I will check out the bathroom....the hallway looked inviting. :) They say the cleanliness of the shop's bathroom is a sign of how much the owners care. (HInt hint, Dan... ;)) Ok, so, until next time....I think I'll go the hot sub route yet or maybe one of their wraps....so many choices...O_o

But today, hubby and I decided to try their protein bowls on a busy Friday late-afternoon! We brought the pupster with us, because, you know, he's family. So we sat out on the patio and I went in to order the bowls. I noted something that "probably" explained the relative "busy-ness" - 1/2 price beer and wine on Fridays! How could I not imbibe???? Hubby got the Beef and Sausage Bowl while I got the NEW! Chicken and Avocado Bowl (the latter just screamed "California"!). As a beer was 1/2 price I got a Bud Light on this warm and somewhat humid day. Now one thing you gotta appreciate- though you order at the counter, they give you a number and they bring the food to you- and they bus your table too - not bad! Alright- the food came out. And let me tell you, the Beef and Sausage Bowl looked - and tasted- fantastic. And that Chicken and Avocado Bowl? Baby. Where have you been all my life? That bowl was great! (and we shared a bit- and both of us liked each other's meal lots!). What was perfect? The portion sizes were perfect. - not overly large (as is the practice at way too many restaurants) and right- sized. Even better? The Chicken and Avocado Bowl had that terrific veneer of "health" that emanated all over it, which went a LONG way towards my enjoyment of it (despite the dressing, which- while tasty- was probably 200 calories too many). So- while I like their Italian Beef sandwiches? I fell for these bowls! And we'll be back! Buona - for god's sake. Expand outta Chicagoland! You've got a winning formula- it's time to let the country experience your food!

Their menu is loaded with all the popular items (kabobs, shawarmas, etc), so chose their chicken shawarma bowl. The lady helping ring me up explained how it was made and that sounded great, which was the garlic sauce (sort of like toom) was on the bottom with the rice on top, salad next and then the protein on top. So, this is what I ordered. It was made fresh and came out piping hot. The rice in the dish was bland and the chicken was slightly more flavorful, which means it was basically bland as well. The garlic sauce and the salad were the best two flavors on this dish and I tried to grab some of that in each bite. I wasn't too impressed with the flavors of the chicken shawarma at all, but then again I prefer flavorful and authentic food and can't stand when ethnic restaurants cater to "Americans" by making their food less spicy/authentic. The place was rather busy when I went and the dining room was kept clean. Service was friendly. I'd recommend this place to those who don't have high expectations for spice, rather are looking for a nice experience.

It was empty when it arrived, but filled up on our way out, telling me it's a popular place for the younger crowd. Either way, you know you're in for a good meal when you see the huge doner rotisserie spinning. The owner (at least I'm pretty sure he was the owner) helpfully walked us through their sauce selection and even offered my MIL some sauce samples. She ended up getting the hot dog with veggies, while my wife and I got sandwich combos (17 for the sandwich + 3.50 for fries and a drink). I was going to share my combo with my preschooler since they don't have a kids meal, but the owner thoughtfully offered some fries with chicken for him. We definitely had to tip well for such nice service. So this is no ordinary sandwich, and the pictures don't do it justice. In pics it looks kind of like a pita pocket, but this thing has some HEFT. Filled with veggies, meat, and sauce, it got a little messy but was really tasty. The veggies were fresh, and it's hard to top meat sliced right off the log. My MIL said her unique hot dog was good as well. To me it looked like a Chicago dog from another dimension, but I also want to give it a try next time. Protip: Ask for your sauces on the side. They're almost too generous with it on the sandwich so it's nice to have a little more control with it. This will definitely enter the rotation and will be letting our friends know as well.
