I walked in because i was getting an ice cream cake next door…read more I'm pretty familiar with filipino cuisine and saw they have halo halo, which is one of my favorite childhood desserts. It was $7.99 and it was delicious! I've never had one with frosted flakes and I was pleasantly surprised. It never got soggy. It's always such a fun dessert to eat. I'll need come back and try some of their other foods as well! Also, the workers seemed very sweet.

So I regularly come here for the turo-turo (point-point) food (basically means take-out). Always…read moregood. My go-to for Pinoy food. The family that owns it are lovely people. Today we came in for pastries and halo-halo (mix-mix). Have had them before and always good. The halo-halo today was a re-imagined version. Still had all the same ingredients - shave ice, milk, ice cream, ube, various fruits, sweet beans, etc). I don't know if how it was served today is how they make it now or just how this young lady makes it. She took her time with it. I wasn't much paying attention to it. But when we got in the car and I really looked at it, there are layers of ube in between layers of shaved ice (see pic). Those layers and the fine texture of the ice - magical!! I normally would have to take this home, dump whole thing in a bowl to mix it all up (just my thing). Not her version. She cracked the code on this one. We slurped it up right there in the car. Girl, simply amazing!!

Checked out this pretty new Asian fusion restaurant that opened up in Aurora. It has kind of a…read moreclassy feel but it's casual. Leilani has a pretty good variety of Chinese and Japanese inspired appetizers and entrees. Has some good drinks that go well with it basically. The food is high quality at pretty good prices. A lot of things to get here. It's not a very big menu but that makes it easier to choose obviously. This is Asian fusion so it's not like it's authentic but this is good for what it is though. A few things can get pricy but prices aren't that bad. The service is also great which helps. It's about $12 for the cheapest cocktails. They often have some rotating seasonal specials. It's about $15 for an entree. There's only a few that are vegetarian so that made it easy to pick something. I got the Truffle Shuffle, which is a maki roll. This has avocado, caramelized shallots, pickled daikon, and roasted shiitake mushrooms, and is topped with a tempura crunch with kimchi and wasabi. Full of flavor. This is a good choice if wanting light meals. For sure it's not authentic but it's not trying to be. It's a good mixture for American palates. There's a few things okay for vegans and vegetarians.

I originally came across this place a few weeks ago, but at the time I was with a large group and…read morethe wait time for dinner was a bit too long for our liking. I finally came back with a smaller group on a Friday afternoon and the place was pretty empty. Our server, Tariq, was the BEST! He did a great job introducing us to Leilani, offering menu suggestions, refilling drinks, etc. Everything on the menu sounded so good. I tried the chicken katsu sando. The Japanese milk bread was so fluffy and fresh, the chicken added a nice crunch, and the toppings were a nice punch of flavor. On the menu, it said it came with yam chips or edamame so I asked for edamame. I think there was some confusion though cause my sandwich came with chips and I was charged for a side of edamame. The edamame had a lot of flavor. I never thought I would write this in a review but I almost wish it was more bland. Edamame aside, this place is great! Service was some of the best experiences I've had, I loved the decor, and most importantly, the food was delicious!
