Happy we tried this place. Angle Parking can be tricky in front on a busy street. Very friendly woman- the mom of the owner took my order and gave it to me when I got there. Ordered 2 noodle dishes and Shrimp fried rice. We all loved the shrimp fried rice. Nice and flavorful. 6 pieces of shrimp. Bigger shrimp but kind of wished there was more. Came here on a Sunday afternoon, after the lunch rush and before the dinner rush. As always, the food and service was fabulous! Sandy, Max and Mimi really run a great restaurant. My kids love the fresh fruit smoothies. It's great that they use fresh fruit and not flavored powders and syrups. The kids also love the kalbi here which has a nice sweetness to it. I cannot say enough about the chow fun. The beef is tender and it's not overly saucy.My favorite is the beef pancake. Not many places have this dish. I love the flakey pancake and the tender beef with the sauce. It also reheats nicely. The wings are also a must try! Such a nice place to go grab lunch or dinner in downtown Geneva. Service deserves 6*. So friendly and they even gave us spring rolls on the house! Every time we visit the Geneva area we come here and the menu is so big we can get something different every time. Incredible little spot. It definitely has a family feel inside. The food and service were outstanding. We ordered soup dumplings and bok choy for appetizers. Bother were outstanding. They brought us a complimentary scallion pancake. This was a little well done on the edges, which I appreciated. I had the Jia Jia beef noodle soup. I've had a lot of dim sum but never seen fried bbq pork buns, so naturally we had to try them. They were so good! Not greasy at all, nice crunch on the outside and that traditional soft steam bun texture on the inside. We also ordered their pork belly steamed buns and they were good as well. Let me just say how wonderful this restaurant is-- I am typing out this review in the middle of eating so that I don't forget to give this restaurant the rating it deserves. Firstly let me say, everything we got tasted SO GOOD. We got the wide flat noodles dish with beef, spicy pork dish, Chinese broccoli with oyster sauce, and sesame balls. Can't tell you how good it all is. I love this place! We finally tried it for takeout and it was amazing! They have limited seating inside if you so desire. My favorite was the Dan Dan Noodle. I've not had anything similar before. A little sweet and a little spicy, great flavor blend. We also tried the Chicken Steak over Rice - fried chicken breast in a slightly sweet sauce over rice with some pickled vegetables. We had an order of the BBQ Pork Bun - a steamed bun with some fun bbq pork inside. Everyone was super nice. I thought I lost my car keys while there and they practically turned the place upside down. I wouldnt actually call what they serve as Filipino food. I think they even advertise as Chinese or Pan asian food. Food is ok, not great. It's like one of those places you can go to locally when you are looking for some asian comfort food and you are lazy to make something at home so you just settle for the next best thing in the neighborhood. Went to the counter to pick up the food and the lady working there first told me that they don't have my order like it was my fault, then she told me that she found my name but that it was going to take another 15 mins. When I was waiting for my order by the pick up window, standing out of peoples way, the same lady kept telling me to sit down because she doesn't want the kitchen seeing me standing and "thinking that something is wrong." Craving Pork Cutlet - 4.5 stars Even though the aftertaste is similar to Japanese fried pork katsu, it was still different flavor. Sauce was sweet mayo based, but not strong, so it did not interfere the pork's natural flavor itself. It came with their own meat sauce over rice, which I could not stop going back to. Vinegar pickled vegetables were nice, gentle and refreshing between each items, and they matched with all items we ordered. It looks classic and nostalgic, but I was surprised at their originality of it. Dan Dan Noodle - 5 stars The strongly smoky noodle reminded me of Thai Drunken Noodle. It has a little spicy hot taste, so while you keep eating, heat started to pile up. But there were also some fruity flavor (maybe anise?) which helped me to enjoy the spiciness more. This was the meal of the day today and I recommend it to the first comers looking for new foods with Asian twist! Our waitress lady was so friendly and peaceful. Carry out only during Stage 4... We tried Cravings after seeing a FB post and cross referencing with the Yelp reviews. Our food was good. We tried the Chicken and Veggies over Rice and the Chicken Fries Noodles. Both come with a brown sauce. The Rice dish tastes like my mom's chop suey. It has a good flavor and a came as a pretty large portion. Make sure you stir it all up, I originally thought it was too saucy, but then I realized the sauce was just poured over the rice, it was better after stirring. The noodles dish was okay. It was bland, not bad, just not full of flavor. I would not make the drive to Cravings for take out Chinese, but if I was near Geneva and had a 'craving' for Chinese food, I'd give it another try. read more

Cravings has become our go to restaurant for asian food. Food is always delicious cooked just the way we like it.

Three stars is a-okay in my book and is not a negative review. It means a place is perfectly fine. Cravings has a bunch of labeled vegan items and serves above-average, fresh, light Chinese and Taiwanese food. It's similar in flavor and ingredients to Hot Pan in Batavia, but has a larger menu. The vegetable spring rolls ($4) failed to impress, with mushy, flavorless filling and a starchy wrapper. The scallion pancake ($8) was nicely done, though: crispy with a good amount of green onion. I wasn't impressed with the mixed vegetables with garlic ($8) which seemed like steamed vegetables in a watery sauce with diced garlic. They gave me this dish as they'd run out of their equivalent Chinese broccoli dish. The curry vegetable soup ($13) is vegan by default and had a good curry flavor, albeit a watery sauce and too much celery. I wish it had had fried tofu or seitan in it. If Cravings added a few substantial tofu dishes (it only has one tofu dish, mapo), I'd visit more often. If you're looking for good, but Americanized Chinese fare, check out East China Inn (specifically the Wilson Street location in Batavia, not the other ones) or Chamber Red Bistro in St. Charles. Hot Pan in Batavia, as mentioned earlier, is similar, but has less variety. read more
