Visited this restaurant because they started following my food page on instagram. There food looked very appealing and i love Chinese food so i just had to go check them out. It's a small place right on the main road so there's street parking. They have a fee tables and they are always busy which is a great sign. We sat down right away and ordered a few of their items that i've seen on their instagram page that caught my eye. The only feedback that i have in regards to something they can change is their Rangoon dip should be warm and soft so that it is easy to grab with the fried chips. When we tried it, the cream cheese was hard and not warm so it made it difficult to scoop. Other than that everything was delicious and the service was great and very friendly. We loved dining here! The ambiance reminded me of eating with my family back home. We were craving Asian food in Geneva and stumbled upon this fairly new restaurant. It had excellent reviews, so that already drew us in. I ordered the well-known Jia Jia's beef noodle soup and my SO got the fried chicken steak over rice. Our server was very friendly and nice. I liked how she asked how spicy I wanted my soup which I said mild because I usually can't handle too spicy soups. It's a great option to have to be able to customize the spice level. Both our dishes came out delicious. My noodles were still a bit spicy but I was able to devour the entire thing because it was that good. I was so surprised I had eaten all of the noodles and still had beef pieces left! They don't skimp on the meat. We also ordered a side of Chinese broccoli for additional veggies. The garlic sauce that came with that was super tasty. We had to get take-out boxes for our leftovers but I definitely want to come back to try out more items on their menu. Two people can only eat so much! Wished there were more places like this near us in Wheaton, but we will gladly make the drive out again if we ever want to get Cravings again! read more

I recently found this little gem of a Chinese restaurant in downtown Geneva. I really like their fried noodles (lo mein) with whatever protein you prefer. And their vegetable fried rice is a great side dish (when I cook Asian main courses I like to pick up their vegetable fried rice; guests are always impressed and think I made it myself). We found the restaurant on Yelp though we would it. One review said they had a salty spice that made your mouth numb Szechuan Peppercorns. We went on Sunday late lunch. All I can say is Wow. We ordered the Szechuan potstickers, Dan Dan noodles with pork and Red curry with chicken. The flavors were amazing m meal sizes are large you will be taking some home. Came here on a whim and was not disappointed - spicy sauce uses actual Szechuan peppercorns. Had mapo tofu, cold spicy noodles, shrimp dumplings, steamed BBQ buns and all were excellent. Staff were very nice and were lucky to have beat the rush. Will def come back! read more

There are not a lot of places in the suburbs that do steamed buns, and usually if they are available, they're not vegetarian. This place has several options (OK, only one is savory) so I was super excited about that. The menu online is very exciting and is more extensive than what I remember at the restaurant; I'll have to write down ahead of time what I want and see if I can get it. It's also fantastic to see Taiwanese food included. We ate in, and got the vegetable steamed buns; red bean buns to go; and the fried Taiwanese buns with sweetened condensed milk, in addition to an order of General Tso's tofu and some taro bubble tea. I'd been trying to get the Taiwanese breakfast doughnuts for ages at another place that only does them for breakfast; they're simple but good (a knife would help; they were HOT). The vegetable buns were tasty; rather mild, and the red bean buns made a good breakfast later. The General Tso's Tofu was ok for sweet and sour (our fault: we didn't realize what we were getting). I ordered Cravings via Uber eats. I had been wanting to try it for the past several weeks. I had the BBQ Pork Bun and the Pork Belly Steam Buns. The bun quality was not good. They were almost flavorless. They tasted like they were frozen buns just heated up in the steamer. The stuff in the BBQ Bun was ok. There was not much stuffing compared to the size of the giant bun. It was all bun. Very little Stuffing. The Pork belly buns..... I took 1 bite and threw them in the trash. I had never had them with the raw veggies on top before. I wasn't a huge fan so I took the veggies off. The pork belly was absolutely gross. It was slimy and chewy. I haven't had anything as gross as that. I couldn't tell you much more about if the fat had or had not rendered out. I know I took a bite, hated it, and threw it in the trash. This place was incredible! My mom and I came here after dress shopping at the Crystal Bride and were not disappointed. We split the crab rangoons as an app, which we agreed were the best we have ever had anywhere. She got beef fried rice, I got the bbq pork bao buns, both of which were absolutely divine. Sorry to say I was disappointed. Maybe I ordered wrong, I wanted shrimp and I had not tried noodles so I went with rice noodles with shrimp. The description listed a bunch of veggies so in my head I would get a pile of veggies and shrimp on top of rice noodles for $15. In reality I got about a half pound of noodles about 6 small shrimp and some shredded carrots onion and a small amount of Napa cabbage. The taste was ok but I wanted some substantial veggies! Mad at myself for not taking a photo. Also I felt like crap the next day found out they use MSG from another review which they did not deny. Not sure if that's why I feel bad. read more

Tonight my hubby & I checked out new local restaurant Cravings (located at 113 W. State St.) for dinner. The beef noodle soup (ask for it spicy) is AMAZING- from the noodles to the beef, so flavorful! The BBQ Pork Buns are delicious (also ask for a small side dish of their house hot sauce to dip- if you can handle a little heat trust me on this tip). They have Boba, we got the traditional milk tea with tapioca balls. I believe they just opened two days ago so word has clearly been traveling of them opening- because they were slammed tonight. I overheard I believe they were on Grubhub so those orders kept flying in + on top of having a full dining room of guests & more guests kept coming in. It appears to be family run & everyone that was working kept genuinely apologizing for the back up on the food orders & I think they just need a little extra help to keep them rockin' and rollin' during future dinner rushes. I even saw they posted this evening on their FB page apologizing about the back up on orders tonight. I think that speaks high volume of how they operate as owners. I definitely will be back & want to see them succeed- downtown Geneva needs a restaurant like this. Everything I had tonight was delicious & you can tell how fresh the ingredients are. My wife was craving ramen and it was a beautiful fall day, so we decided to give this spot a try followed by a walk in downtown Geneva. What a good choice! The ramen was excellent, no complaints whatsoever, but for me the "flat wide noodles" were a HUGE win. This style of noodle is always my go-to when I'm craving Asian food, so I've tried it a lot of places. I honestly think these were the best I've ever had. They were perfectly chewy in a very flavorful sauce. The service was also beyond friendly, and though the kitchen seemed a smidge on the slow side the food was well worth the wait. LM sauce was savory, the egg cooked nicely, two slices of Spam (it's a Hawaiian dish so it MUST have Spam) and two hamburger patties, sticky rice. All would have been fine, but I'm sure I've had those hamburgers before and they weren't fresh. I believe these were frozen and came out of a pre-made box of cook-out hamburgers much like one can get at Walmart. Not so good. Actually they spoiled the meal, and for the price paid, my wife and I agreed this was not good value. Proprietress was very kind and the establishment clean. I honestly hate to write anything negative because the food is SO good. Like way better than most of the Asian cuisine in the area. But, on the negative side, whenever they give us a pick up time, we need to add an additional 45 minutes. Last night we ordered and they told us 45 minutes. We know from ordering previously it probably wouldn't be ready in 45 minutes, so my husband left our house an hour after we had called. When he arrived he waited an additional 45 minutes before the food was ready. Waiting another 5-10 minutes is understandable but almost an hour is a bit excessive. And I want to be so angry, but the lady at the front is the nicest, sweetest person alive and you just can't be mad ‍. Then I had ordered Thai green curry and we're not sure what happened but I got Thai red curry instead. And I wanted to be upset about that too, but wouldn't you know the red curry was delicious? I think I liked it better than the green! We have ordered multiple times and it's the same every time. But we'll keep going back because the food is just that good.
