For my first time trying Honu Poke, I went with another person and I built my own poke bowl while he got a pre made one. the food itself tasted really good -- there were plenty of protein options and toppings available to choose from, i loved the customization. Normally I go the BYOB route at poke places but decided to switch things up this time and try some of their classic bowls. I ended up trying a bit of the salmon lover bowl and the ocean feast and both were great! The salmon lover bowl had a bit of a kick to it but the ocean feast had a little bit of everything. The regular size was a very generous portion enough for two average meals (or one very filling meal). I came on a Friday evening and the place was pretty empty. The server was very helpful and assembled our bowls very quickly. We took our bowls to go but there were some clean tables to eat in if you prefer. The portions were also very generous and the fish was very fresh. We did the custom bowls but will try one of their menu bowls next time. I noticed this place just opened sometime ago when I went to Jefa Tacos. I'm glad that I was finally able to come and try one of there bowls. The place is very clean and the employees are very nice. They don't have a very large selection of choices but I was okay with what they had. The selections are very fresh and not to mention the bowls are loaded with protein and vegetables. For the price you can't beat it. Around $14.00 out the door compared to Poke Bros I would choose this place all day long. This will be my new Poke Bowl alternative from now on. Their prices are competitive, their rewards system is easy and benefits the consumer, and the owner/management/workers are the nicest people around. When the poke craze began, I thought Poke Brothers was the only place to go. I am so incredibly happy that I found Honu Poke. Quite simply, their food is INCREDIBLY fresh. In addition, the apparent owner (a lady) is one of the most genuine and friendly person I have met in a long, long time. My daughter is infatuated with this restaurant.
