This is the perfect location to go to after working out at vasa fitness when you need some protein fast! They are super nice and very generous with her portions. The prices are good and the desserts are great who doesn't like mochi ice cream the facility is super clean. You don't have to wait in line. They are quick and generous parking. Great location.

Chains are usually ruled by their finance departments, and everyone knows nothing kills a restaurant's menu like an accountant. The tolerance on sushi and ramen is dynamic. As long as the fish wasn't spoiled, I've never had really bad sushi or ramen. I've had both that were not great, but ultimately edible (meaning it was better than going to McDonalds). In 1964, Justice Potter Stewart famously said "I know porn when I see it". And I know a chain restaurant Sushi menu when I see it. Subsequently, Chain restaurant Sushi is recognizable. Better than "Supermarket" Sushi, but not the same as a serious Sushi joint. I had a non-interesting Maki roll, one order of run-of-the mill Gyoza, and a "Ramen" wot had shrimps in it. All decent, but not championship. Not cheap, either. The most distinctive thing (and not exactly a positive thing) was the square-ish soft drink glasses. Pretty to look at , but they didn't hold enough drink to last through the meal. As I was a solitary diner, I was seated in an empty section, thus not being in the normal path of the server who seemed more interested in chatting with the Sushi "Chef", than paying attention to my empty glass. Maybe the raison d'état of innocuous sushi/ramen joints like this is to initiate squirmy eaters to the joys of Japanese eats. You know, like "training wheels" for cuisine...

I believe I tasted chili oil in their spicy rolls (I had the crab) so the heat profile is more defined and it balanced well with the sweetness of the crab. The nigiri were rather large cuts of fish, easily over 1 oz. of fish, which was very surprising. The fish was still very cold when served, so I could not accurately describe quality of the nigiri outside of visual signs of freshness (which all of my served dishes were visually fresh), but the fish and crab within my rolls all tasted fresh, so I'm sure the nigiri was as well. My rating is probably closer to a 4.5, but we live in a whole number world on Yelp. And Im not rounding down on a meal that I enjoyed. While Im in the area Shu's will be a place I return to.

Our server, Katie, was amazing. She was attentive, funny, and gave great recommendations on both food and drinks. The menu has a wide variety of options, so her guidance definitely helped. We ordered hibachi, which was delicious and a fun experience. The chef put on a great show and even gave us cues for slow motion videos, which made it extra memorable. A few people in our group ordered sushi and said it was really good as well. I had the shrimp dinner and added calamari on the side. The shrimp portion was generous, and everything tasted great. My only complaint is the noodles. They were very thin, similar to Pad Thai noodles, and I personally prefer thicker hibachi noodles. The soup was one of the best I've tasted. The ambiance was cute and spacious, with a cool fish tank and the drinks were a highlight. I had a coconut sake drink that was so good I'd honestly go back just for that. Overall, great food, fun atmosphere, and excellent service. I would definitely return.

First, a standing ovation for the packaging. The broth and noodles arrived completely separate, clearly labeled, and perfectly intact. No soggy noodles, no sad collapsed toppings, no delivery regret. Someone in that kitchen actually thought about how this food travels and it shows. More restaurants take note please. The Hakata Tonkotsu Ramen itself was rich, creamy, deeply warming, and some of the best broth I have had anywhere. I genuinely did not expect to find this level of ramen quality outside of the city. And yet here we are, in the suburbs, slurping our way through a bowl that could hold its own against any ramen shop Chicago has to offer. The pork was beautifully charred and flavorful. The gyoza was excellent. But the Berkshire pork belly buns were the true standout of the night. Fatty, deeply seasoned, pure indulgent decadence in each bite. The kind of thing you think about the next day. Yoshi Ramen will now be our permanent go to ramen spot out here in the burbs and honestly that is a little dangerous given how close it is to home. Our wallets already know.

Safe to say we'll definitely be back (maybe next time with a little more self-control... maybe lol).
