Great place for seafood boil! I was craving a spot that does seafood boils/ seafood by the pound. A long time ago, in my mid to late 20s era, we would order seafood boil for Father's Day so this was very nostalgic for me. I've seen the sign for Sea Shack from Route 59 and finally got to try it when my sister was visiting Naperville. I called in an order and it was ready in 15 minutes. What we ordered for 3 adults: 1 lb peeled shrimp, mild, + corn + potatoes 1 lb black mussels, mild, + corn + potatoes 1 lb clams, mild 1 corn on the side 1 sausage on the side onion rings chicken tenders and fries 2 orders of rice We had plenty of food and enough for leftovers. My favorite part might be the cajun butter sauce with white rice... even more than the seafood. I love white rice with basically any sauce. The food was fresh, the sauce was mild as requested, still flavorful and not too salty. If you order the clams on its own, no sides, the bag might seem a little small but that's just because the clam meat is so small. For takeout, your seafood will come double bagged so it was leak proof. We decided to empty the bags into bowls since we were doing family style, and it was a hearty meal. I can't comment on the ambiance since it was a takeout order, but we enjoyed our food. We'll be back! read more

Went out for a birthday dinner for a sibling. The service was quick although it was an empty dining room. I had some of their cajun pasta and calamari, both were quite small serving sizes for their price. What put me off was adding shrimp to the pasta for 5.99 only to be given exactly five pieces of shrimp. The pasta had nothing cajun about it and served on a big plate to look bigger than it is, far too big for the small table! The pasta itself was nice, however it tasted like grocery store jar alfredo sauce. And the restaurant had far too loud music for so little people there, couldn't even talk properly to the server or family despite sitting so close on a tiny table. Would not recommend read more

The food we ordered came out after waiting for like 30 minutes, also took another 15 minutes to just get a Cajun fry that was ordered with the entrees. Family got the seafood, they enjoyed the boil but man. It was so tiny. You can add shrimp to the rice/pasta for 5.99, it is 5 tiny, miniature shrimps for that. Great first experience for a seafood boil with my nieces who have been wanting to give it a try for a while now. We arrived around 7pm on a Wednesday and they have a big dining room with plenty of tables, a couple of TVs and it what looks like a stage area too. There were a few other occupied tables and some recently empty ones that were cleaned up quickly after we sat down. The staff were all very friendly, knowledgeable and able to answer questions and our waitress even asked if we would like her to pour our boil out for us when she brought it to the table which was appreciated. It was hard to decide between everything on the menu while also trying to avoid going overboard but since it was just me and my two tween nieces I ended up choosing the Seashack Shareable combo #3 which comes with a pound each of snow crab, Dungeness crab and shelled shrimp along with 2 corn cobs and potatoes. I was a bit worried that my younger niece might not like the food so I ordered some fries and garlic bread to go along with the boil and both of these tasted good. My niece had had her heart set on trying king crab so it was a letdown to learn they were out for the day but the generous size of the dungeness and snow crab legs we received and the tasty cajun garlic flavor made her quickly forget all about it as she happily cracked and devoured from the big bowl in front of us. I ordered the mild option for spice level as the girls were afraid that any spice would be too much for them to enjoy but they ended up wishing we had at least got a little bit. Ended up with a bill of around $150 with tip included so it's a bit up there in terms of price point but I left with a good impression as it was a very good value for the quality and the size of the servings. I actually had to have about a 1/4 pound wrapped up to go. Needless to say we will be coming back to Sea Shack again soon. read more

My seafood boil flavor was good but everything was miniature sized. Really minature, potato the size of a cherry tomato, 1 egg and 2 half sizes of corn. Your entire boil can fit into that tiny wooden bowl so you can imagine the size. read more

I came in with high hopes and was disappointed. We walked in and the dining room looks less than half decorated, and was less than half full on Father's Day. That should have been a bad sign, but I hoped based on the reviews that the food would make up for the lack of decor. We probably messed up by ordering the Cajun Rice dishes. Maybe the Boils would have been better, but we were were put off about those because they were bringing the seafood out to people's tables in clear plastic bags, shaking the bag, and dumping it in a bowl in front of the customer. I've had many a low country boil, and don't know how they mix it up in the kitchen, but plastic bag delivery to table doesn't seem right. The fried rice tasted like something you buy in the frozen section at the supermarket. The veggies in it were undeniably from a bag of frozen vegetables at the supermarket. (Peas, green beans, carrots, and corn... and the undeniable cut and texture of frozen vegetable medley.) The only thing Cajun about the dish was that the rice was over-seasoned with Cajun seasoning powder. It also didn't help that the fried mushroom appetizer squirted me with scalding oil when I bit into it, and that all 3 of our orders came out in 3 separate shifts. The food was pretty good. I would definitely recommend going up in spice level like other reviews say. Service was amazing, our waitress was so nice. Ambiance was pretty nice, the place was spacious and music was good. Some small things I noticed that did not deter from wanting to eating here again though, the crab cracker tool did not come until the majority of crab had already been eaten because all of their tools were still being sanitized when we first started eating. Additionally, my friend had only ordered sausage but ended up getting corn and potatoes too. It wasn't a big deal and we didn't get charged for it so it was just a nice bonus. I was craving some crab legs and had this restaurant on my to try list for awhile. When we walked in, we were the only ones there on a Thursday night. The staff was very attentive and seemed to keep busy. They entertained my daughter and engaged with her. The entrees can get kind of messy if you get the boils, so they give you a plastic bib and gloves so you can really get in there. While I do not expect to go super cheap for crab legs, I thought the cost was pretty expected. They have a 2 for $23 deal where you 1/2 lb of 2 meats and sides. I got 1/2 lb crab and 1/2 shrimp. Any sides you want to get were extra. I got potatoes for an additional $3. It felt like a lot of food, so I wasn't left feeling hungry. The price was what I expected. The food was really good though! There was so much flavor in the sauce and everything was cooked well. I was really pleased with my entree. They do have non-seafood options, although there weren't a ton of options since seafood is their specialty. My daughter got chicken nuggets and fries. Drinks are in the can, so no free refills. Overall, I was really pleased with this restaurant and it satisfied my craving for crab legs. read more

"Eh" would sum up this place for me. The portions were so small and the food wasn't as flavorful or as good as other seafood boil places I've been to. The scallops were the smaller ones as well. The sides are all add ons at $3 for two eggs and $6 for one small sausage. Small potatoes as well. The seating was also super small and metal uncomfortable chairs. I likely won't be back. read more

We came in at 9, we called ahead of time to make a reservation so we can come in and sit down, we came in the ladies were in the front they were obviously very stressed and we understand but when we called they said they were packed and they were going to call us back at 8:45 if they couldn't sit us at 9 which they didn't. They told us we needed to wait 15 i said we had a reservation but clearly they don't rlly care for reservations, if they don't take reservations seriously I just don't think you guys should be even taking reservations. Viet Cajun is such an underrated combo, and we are so happy that this restaurant has perfected it. We've came here three times already and have been blown away by the food, staff, and cleanliness of this restaurant. We are a family of four and get the family combo with some added sides, which is more than enough and leaves us with very yummy leftovers. The bold garlic Cajun flavors are unlike any other seafood boil we have been to around the area. The experience is so fun (don't be afraid to get a lil dirty and make sure to bring a hair tie to pull your hair back!). A lil pricey but definitely worth it considering the seafood is fresh and the portions are huge. The food came out way too fast making me think it was par cooked. The flavor of the sauce was mid at best. The quality of the seafood was a lil better than some places around here but we are far from an ocean so I get it. The snow crab fought us to come out if the shell. Went here for the first time. We do our grocery shopping at Park to Shop, never knew this place existed, glad to find this hidden gem. The decor probably needs to be finished by now haha but that doesn't take away from the delicious food and we had fun reading all the funny signs. Yes, the bathroom can be a little bit cleaner but honestly pretty clean compared to all the Asian run restaurants we've dined in. Got the "spicy" which had a little kick but wasn't spicy. My son lives in Naperville and he mentioned he wanted to try it. It's located in a little strip mall. It's tucked away but the sign lead the way. We walked into the restaurant and we were greeted by our waitress. She was so sweet and attentive. My son has never been to a boil. He said he wanted to try Cajun and Crawfish. My fiancé likes seafood but wasn't into the boils. He opted for the Shrimp with Linguine at a Medium Heat. My son and I got mini boil #3 at mild heat. My fiancé said his was really good, he said the heat was good. He couldn't imagine the next level as the medium had some kick. Our mini boil had crawfish, head on shrimp, and crab legs.
