FULLY LOADED At Naperville's Poke Bros, your order can be as simple and straightforward as you like, or absolutely loaded with extras. When my wife and I are craving sushi but don't want traditional maki rolls, we'll pickup carryout from this place on Route 59 & Hassert in Naperville. Poke Bros is near a Melting Pot fondue joint and a Warhammer nerd rendezvous (sorry, it's the truth). I'd venture a guess we order poke bowls once a month or so, that's how much we enjoy them. I usually get a custom poke bowl with spicy tuna ($11.50), but you can also get regular ahi or marinated tuna. Preset choices include "the Hula" ($12) with shrimp & crab stick, or the "Johnny Utah" ($12.50) with salmon & avocado. I *have to* believe the owners of Poke Bros were fans of the 1991 action movie Point Break, as Keanu Reeves' character is named....Johnny Utah. There's no other explanation, or Google result! If you're feeling bold, you can opt for squid salad in a poke bowl. For those not interested in sea creatures, there's an option for chicken ($10). They even offer kids bowls ($7), which is the exact same thing albeit a smaller portion. Miso soup is available for $3. When making your own poke bowl, you first select a base (sushi rice, brown rice, or salad), then pick a protein, main ingredients (corn, tofu, ginger, carrots, pineapple, edamame, cucumber, scallion, sweet onion, jalapeno), sauce (ponzu, gochujang, wasabi aioli, coconut ginger, sweet chili), and toppings (sesame seeds, crunchy onion, wonton chips, tempura flakes, crushed cashews). You can add mango, avocado, seaweed salad, or fish roe for $1 extra. Their listing of mochi (Japanese ice cream) gets longer every time we visit. You can get 2 for $4, or 3 for $5.50. I've counted over TWENTY flavors so far: vanilla choc chip, red bean, strawberry, espresso, salted caramel, purple ube, coconut, earl grey, passion fruit, belgian chocolate, lychee, green tea, mango, black sesame, hazelnut, cake batter, banana pudding, açaí, and something called 'hojica'. That's a hell of a selection! * TL;DR * When the mood strikes us, Poke Bros has been a reliable choice. As much as we love these guys, I'd put them a tick below the Bolingbrook Poke Bros (on Boughton near I-355). That location has slightly nicer folks and gives "frequent eater" stamps towards a free poke bowl after 10 purchases. This one doesn't offer that perk, and most of the time the staff just hands over my bag of fish without any pleasantries. Come for the customizable poke bowls, stay for the impressive (and delicious) assortment of mochi. We'll be back. read more

Very clean and cute place. Like a subway for poke bowls. You choose your base from kinds of rice or salad and then pick your toppings. I go with the recommendations on the menu and got the hula. Very yummy and fresh ingredients. The sauces bring it all together. The service was friendly and fast. There is a ton of rice in the bowl compared to the other ingredients, so that is why I did 4 stars. But one of my favorite, go to fast food places. FOOD POISONING! I had previously left a raving review about this place, I have been going here for years. I have literally ordered it so many times and gotten friends and family to do the same. I want to give them 5 stars so bad... but this place has given me food poisoning twice now (once in 2021 once in 2025). It has also given several people I know food poisoning. If you're going to run this type of business, you NEED to have STRICT food quality control. They do not. I have a strong stomach and their crab sticks nearly sent me to the hospital. I needed a quick late night dinner in the area and found Poke Bros. They close at 9pm and when I walked in at 8:45pm, I was happy to see all their ingredients still available. I decided to build my own bowl with sushi rice, spicy salmon, tofu, and lots of veggies! My entire experience from building my bowl to paying took less than 5 minutes - fantastic! I love poke so I was intrigued to try this place after I saw some ads for it on Facebook. We ordered two bowls for pick up - one build your own and one of Da Kine. It was a quick wait and the pickup was easy. I really enjoyed my poke bowl. I got half ahi tuna and half spicy tuna and I loved being able to pick so many add ins and toppings. My boyfriend ordered Da Kine and although he ate most of it, he said next time he'd like to try to build his own as this one just tasted like it was missing something. I'd come back to try more combinations. The ingredients were definitely fresh. I think the only reason not to give it 5 stars is the overall poke bowl is small compared to other places and the protein serving was also quite small. read more

I really liked this place early on during the pandemic- very tasty food. Really like the measures they took to protect their customers and employees. The portion size has gotten so small that I cannot justify going to this place anymore. The bowl itself is not even close to filling enough to be a standalone meal. Been here probably 10+ times now, pretty much all takeout. After COVID, they really have the place locked down, as in a giant plastic sheet between food/servers and customers. They even have a little dual-door to hand food off, pretty tight ship. Anyway, the sushi and bowls are solid. Obviously I've been back here a lot so have been happy. Pricing is fair to pricier but cost of everything has gone up. I've tried all the sushi but would say my fave bowl is a 50/50 with spicy salmon and marinated tuna. Built my own poke bowl (half brown rice/salad, spicy salmon + marinated tuna (extra $3.5), edamame, cucumber, masago (+$0.50), tempura flakes, fried onions, OG sauce, wasabi aioli). Their wasabi aioli was over powering - maybe because he drenched my whole bowl in it, couldn't taste anything but the aioli & was struggling to eat it bc of the wasabi. Fish freshness was good. Veggies looked a bit wilted & old from sitting out. Some of their veggies could've been cut smaller but that's just preference. Portion sizes are definitely smaller than other poke places, about - little less than a 1/4 cup scoop for protein & a tbsp sized scoop for toppings. Seems skimpy for the price you're paying. ($11-$15/bowl depending on protein/toppings) Definitely wouldn't come back again any time soon, I'll make the extra drive to grab Aloha in DT Naperville - fresher ingredients & better portions in my experiences. Grabbed a bowl to go for the first time yesterday. Great idea for a unique fast food experience. As expected a little pricy but thats not a complaint. It was 14 dollars for a bowl and a soda. The bowl was loaded so again no complaints, just not an everyday lunch spot. I had HULA which is one of their pre-crafted bowls but next time I think I'll try a make your own version. I used to LOVE getting poke bowls from here, but they started getting super rude employees who give out TINY portions (compared to when they first opened and had actual size portions) and they are now charging for substitutions for their signature bowls even if you have an allergy (I'm severely allergic to shrimp, and my favorite bowl has shrimp in it, so I sub for salmon). They charged me $5 for using salmon rather than the shrimp because it was now a "create your own bowl" type thing and they charged me like I created my own bowl (which I didn't). Not even close to how generous other local competitors scoop. Good mochi selection. I was disappointed that everything is packaged in plastic to-go containers. Even when you eat in. They have Eat Clean all over. With as clean conscious they are about food, I would have hoped they'd also care more about the environment. I didn't want to order more due to all of the plastic waste.
