Came here yesterday for my mom's birthday and off the bat, the first thing I noticed is how cool and large the building is. They have all sorts of neat decorations, I couldn't stop taking pictures. We had reservations for a party of 5, although it was not needed. The place wasn't crowded at all. I wasn't a big fan of their drink options. Instead of sprite they have starry, but the food more than makes up for it. This was my first time dinning here, so I wasn't aware of how huge the portions were. I got the crab Rangoon which I found to be very tasty, I got the sweet potato rolls. Got the most part they were good but some pieces I thought were slightly overcooked. For my entree I got the steak hibachi and it included fried rice, miso soup, and a small side salad. I don't know what type of dressing they put on the salad but it was delicious. Our hibachi chef was pretty funny. He did all his cool tricks. Our waitress was also very friendly. Right before our food was served I did notice my plate was dirty. It had left over food, which I circled in the picture. Not a big deal though since my waitress got me a new plate immediately. Overall, the portions were huge and the food was delicious. Wu's house in Naperville is probably the better Wu's house in suburbs of Chicago. My husband and I took our children and parents to celebrate our birthdays and their 40th wedding anniversary. The entrance is beautiful on the inside and out. The landscaping is done regularly and the small pond with Koi fish was clean! We made a reservation for 6pm on a Saturday night. It was busy so we had to wait about 15 minutes. It wasn't bad, as we sat and talked amongst ourselves. The process to alert parties is great as you are handed a buzzer so that they aren't screaming your name over the crowd. Once we arrived at our table and settled. Our hostess, Wayan (Why-un) arrived asking for our drink orders. Wayan was attentive and sooooo kind. He handled the stress of a busy restaurant floor with ease. He was not afraid to clarify or correct an issue before it became an issue. He was wonderful! Our chef was soooo entertaining. He cooked well and made sure we felt as if his performance was just for us. He was great!! The only reason I gave 4 stars was because the floors were slippery. Before you even walk into the building, there is a beautiful bridge and giant teapot fountain outside. Once you walk in, an open space full of reds lanterns and pink sakura trees present a stunning visual treat to digest, definitely Instagram/TikTok worthy. Service is incredibly fast and friendly. Hibachi seating is communal. If you're a group of 2, you will get seated with other parties, an excellent way to make new friends. Unfortunately for us, when we sat down, after a 15 minute wait, no additional parties joined us. So it was just our duo, which in hindsight, was a private chef experience! In terms of food, you get huge portions for the price point. There is soup and salad as an appetizer and a sweet finish with a scoop of ice cream at the end of your meal. Dinner and a show. You get your choice of protein. Vegetables. 2 options of carbs, a fried rice/ or plain white rice AND noodles. So here I am raving about the service, the ambiance, and the portions. So why 3 stars instead of 5. It comes down to the actual taste of the food. It tastes good. You get a lot for the price. The issue is that everything kind of tastes the same? Monotonous. The fried rice, vegetables, noodles, and protein.... They're all cooked in the same homemade garlic butter. There's a dash of salt & pepper here, a splash of secret house sauce there, and a spritz of cola to dazzle. The overall flavor profile of everything was sweet and paired with the only condiment offered is the yum yum sauce and it too, is tasty, but fell flat after a few bites. In terms of taste, it's missing the remaining 4 out of the 5 basic fundamentals of taste( salty, sour, bitter, & umami). Like for example, yes. I probably could add some salt to the food on my own, but that was not provided on the table. I could have asked. Yes. But again. Shouldn't s dish be properly salted? Or is it salt to taste? For sour components, I ordered scallops, it could use a dash of lemon to brighten the dish. For bitter, not necessarily looking for bitter flavor, but a clove of garlic would have really elevated the vegetables. And lastly umami, a savory component that could have deepen the flavor profile of everything. Overall, definitely worth a try. A great visual experience. An opportunity to sit at the chef's table. The lobby is incredibly spacious, perfect for accommodating large crowds without feeling cramped. We've dined here on separate occasions for both hibachi and regular dining, and we've enjoyed both experiences. Some of our family favorites include the orange chicken, pineapple chicken, sesame chicken, sushi, and of course, the hibachi. The mango smoothie is always a hit whenever we get it. The hibachi area is roomy and has a fun, lively atmosphere, making it a great choice for both casual dinners and celebrations. I didn't get the 2 pieces of shrimp and the chef have forgotten and gave them to someone else at our table. Honestly with all the food and being really salted, I didn't bother to ask for those 2 shrimps. Had the white peach sangria was really good. The grand entrance, complete with a bridge and koi pond, creates an inviting first impression. Inside, the décor is equally impressive, featuring cherry blossom trees, lanterns, and elegant Asian-inspired design elements. The spacious dining areas and hibachi seating add to the restaurant's appeal. The extensive menu includes Japanese, Chinese, and other Asian dishes. We chose several Chinese-style dishes and ordered them family-style for sharing. Due to dietary restrictions, we requested that the sweet sauces be served separately, and our waitress graciously accommodated the request. Although we did not try the hibachi or sushi, many other diners appeared to be enjoying those popular options. The service was excellent throughout our visit. Our waitress, Lucy, was especially courteous, attentive, and welcoming, contributing greatly to the overall dining experience. One point worth noting is the automatic service charge/gratuity. Went there for the very first time. It's a small chain and Naperville is their newest location. There located right next to Walmart and Xsport fitness and share the parking lot with them. Plenty of parking, no issues there. Interior of the building is beautiful and excellent ambiance setting. They have the hibachi area separate from the sushi sitting area. Nice and organized. I felt like food quality for the price you pay is not justified. It was oily and tasted subpar. Both me and my friend felt sick after the food. They are significantly pricey compared to the similar or better Japanese restaurants. The thing the annoyed me the most was a mandatory 18% service charge for and one using their sit down service, regardless of the party size (picture attached). I always tip over 20% but seeing this that they are forcing people with a 18% service was very disappointing. On a positive note their customer service was excellent. Based on the lack of food quality and mandatory service fee I will not recommend this place. There are several better options locally that you should try before going here. We really thought WU's was an authentic Chinese restaurant but it turn out to be a Japanese restaurant. overall, they did have a couple Chinese dishes, but we were looking for clams with black bean sauce, salt and pepper fish, and steam fish. They did not offer either one of these. It was more like a Chinese American menu. The things that we did order the Kung Pau chicken and the Mongolian beef did have the Chinese Wok Mei flavor. Im back! Been a while since i wrote a review.. gotta start somewhere! I will start with ambiance, it was very lively and colorful. Everyone was very nice and responsive. We had the hibachi experience and it was fun. Drinks were priced right, as always.. I had my signature drink, Gin Martini, shaken and not stirred. My wife had a very sweet Sandgria that led to a hangover. As for the food, we partook in a combination of sushi and chicken hibachi. Red Dragon sushi was excellent, better than other spots where I have had the same dish. As for the chicken hibachi, it was not what I expected. Combined with fried rice, vegetables and chicken itself, the dish was prepared with an over abudnace of garlic butter.. yes.. garlic butter. We also had noodles that tasted like... yes.. more garlic butter with a hint of ginger. See where I'm going with this? Now this restaurant is classified as a Japanese style hibachi, but unfortunately the prep of the food, its lack of spices and sauces were not well balanced. As all our food tasted very similar. Garlic butter. In addition you are required to pay an automatic gratuity in the form of a service charge. I would go back to give it another go, with a different choice of meat. The waiter asked if we wanted boxes at the end. I said, "no, we did not like it". He said, "ok" and walked away. I had to ask him three times for a drink. As a recent city-dweller-turned-suburbanite, I'll say that I LIVE for places like Wu's House that you won't be able to find in Chicago. Restaurants like these are one of the joys of the suburbs. Some will hate to love it. Others like myself will love to love it. Here is what we ordered between two people: Icy Pear Cocktail Passionfruit Tea Vegetable Tempura Sashimi Lunch Special (his) Sashimi and Sushi Lunch Special (mine) General Tsao's Chicken Lunch Special (shared) We went all out for lunch. The food was really fresh and the sushi/sashimi was high quality. The service was also quick and friendly. They will automatically add an 18% service fee, so keep that in mind when you get the bill. They have signs about this on the credit card holder and also posted by the front entrance of the restaurant. I am a first timer at Wu's and they've got themselves a new fan! This is the type of restaurant where I'd love to bring my parents (spacious, clean, quick service, well-priced items, and pan-Asian options, and plenty of parking) and I think they'll really enjoy it. This place is perfect for bringing large groups because they can accommodate with all of their space and their logistics/customer service was top notch. Five stars. We did an early hibachi birthday dinner for my daughter at Wu House and it was a hit. Plenty of parking, and the outside ambiance sets the tone with a koi pond and little bridge very cool touch. Inside, the decor is impressive and the place is super clean. Service was great from start to finish. The hibachi chefs made it fun each one sang different songs and got the table involved. The birthday drumming and singing really made it feel like a celebration. If you've done hibachi before, you know it can feel repetitive, but this place added energy and personality that made it memorable. We went to eat here today and it was such a disappointment. We have been coming here since they first opened. The floors were super greasy. They had all new staff. The food portions were much smaller. The waiter was barely around. They did not ask us what flavor ice cream we wanted. They no longer give you plastic to go containers. They are styrofoam. I appreciate separating the hibachi grill area from the more traditional kitchen/sushi bar prepared eating areas and this is quite a place in terms of size, architecture and decorating. Food was solid-sushi rolls were fresh and chicken pad thai was a good version of same. Service was also decent. I did notice and want to share a couple of odd things-first, they automatically add 18% to your bill for dining in. I don't know if their other restaurants had/have issues with diners not tipping, but something to know heading in. The other is in looking at the menu overall-hibachi in particular-there are so many upcharges, etc. for things from fried rice to chicken fried rice, brown rice. Tonight, we went back to celebrate our granddaughter's birthday with a party of 9 and it was a totally different experience. After taking our initial order and delivering drinks, we never saw anyone other than our entertainer/ cook again. No one came to take away salad or soup plates or ask us about drink refills. The cook's performance was totally lackluster compared to other tables around us and I had to go to the bar to get drink refills. We asked for the manager and a very young gentleman with a GM Badge came over to help but by then the damage was done and the food show was over. At no point did he apologize for their poor service or do anything to rectify the situation. I can no longer recommend Wu's House in Naperville. Food was okay but not as good as first visit since tuna and steak were overcooked and no options were given for shrimp prep. read more

Went here with my girlfriend as a birthday gift and both of us were totally blown away. Beautiful building with lush decorations, very attentive and friendly staff and the food was amazing! Unlike places like Benihana or Domo 77 the steak and shrimp were absolutely top-quality, something you would expect at a much higher end restaurant. Absolutely loved the garlic butter noodles which were phenomenal. People who complain about this place are probably cry babies. Had dinner here on a Saturday. Although the front of the restaurant looks busy with big groups, we got seated right away on the regular side. Maybe most of the people were at the hibachi side. We ordered 3 specialty rolls, Mongolian Beef, and Pad See Eew. The rolls are all amazing. I especially love the golden dragon roll. It's so beautiful. The seared white tuna on top has a nice smoky flavor. The beef in both Mongolian beef and pad see eew are tender. But the Mongolian beef is on the saltier side with too much soy sauce. My bestie and I visited on Valentine's Day and we had an absolute ball! The service was top tier all around! Everyone was helpful and friendly! We didn't even have to wait long to be seated! I made a reservation and arrived about 30 mins late yet we were still seated quickly! This spot was decorated well and clean! Went here to get some thai food. It was recommended to me by a friend. It's a beautiful looking place. The bathrooms look and actually smell good. I never comment on bathrooms but this one really had a good scent. As far as seating options they have 2 options. Hibachi or Regular. The difference is if you sit at hibachi you get the show that comes with the grill. You can order anything from the regular dining, so that's where we set. They give you these edamame as an appetizer. Nothing special, just salted. For my meal I got the combo pad thai. This was flavorful, with a decent amount of steak, chicken and shrimp. Overall it's a large portion. I would definitely order it again. My friend got the general tso chicken with fried rice. The general tso chicken was very good as well. The fried rice was OK. Overall i really liked this place. The items are reasonably priced until you get on the hibachi grill. read more

not sure why everyone loves this place so much! overpriced AND extra charge for service and dinner prices start at 2;30. food average at best. been here three times, tried three different meals, none were good. pad see ew just sweet soy sauce, no garlic or other flavor, no wok hei. sesame chicken overly sweet, too much breading. vegetable tempura was worst- raw soggy breading, onions and sweet potato raw, zucchini soggy and overcooked. also, all three visits, overpowering smell of disinfectant throughout dining room. also long time to get food, even at 2:30 on a weekday with only two other couples there. last but not least, on our final visit, we watched employees disassemble a mop, step outside, and walk through the dining room to the kitchen with a dead koi from the pond. will not return. read more

Wu's House is clearly a house, a very big house. We've all seen it in Naperville and besides great food and an extensive menu, it's the hospitality that will keep me coming back.
