We visited right after seeing a movie at the AMC theaters across the way. We took a chance as it was a new place (only open one week) and so there was only one 5 star review. That said I feel obligated to provide a thorough review for all of you Food: okay, let's start off by mentioning... free edamame appetizer when you are seated!! I hope that continues! The menu has a variety of sushi, rolls, hand rolls, teriyaki dishes, hibachi, and lots of other entrees. They have a separate beverage menu that includes boba/bubble tea. we ordered the pork katsu, a dragon roll and miso soup. 5 stars! All the food was presented nicely... the portions were plentiful and the taste... delicious! The pork katsu was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside as you would expect it to be. The sauce was a good consistency. I drizzled it over the white rice that came with it. The dragon roll pieces were perfect wrt their rice to non-rice ratio. The pieces were not overly large so I could eat each piece in its entirety. Yummy! Service: Lili, our server, was so sweet. She was friendly, attentive and professional. The food came out promptly. 5 stars. Thank you, Lili. Ambiance: very nice... Simple and tasteful. 5 booths that sit 4 people. 5 four tops that could be pushed together for larger parties. 2 tables in a partially enclosed section up front that would be ideal for a party of 8ish who might be celebrating a special occasion. 5 stars Other: - 2 unisex bathrooms. Each has a toilet and urinal. - lots of parking (in a large strip mall)

New Japanese sushi place near the AMc theater. The sushi was very well put together and fresh. We also tried their honey walnut shrimp and coconut curry with chicken. Both dishes are probably more Chinese influenced and tasted great. Service was friendly and prompt. The interior was clean with brand new furniture. Will definitely come back.

They have a great variety of rolls to choose from. The ones we had were all great. Service was great, and cute inside.

Ate here twice since it opened. Once for the lunch specials and once for dinner. Service was great and food was delicious. Will definitely be back soon.

Everything was really good quality and the restaurant was very clean, I will definitely be back, Lili was so nice and gave great suggestions, wonderful appetizers, sushi and meals, the boba was authentic flavors.

Staff members are extremely kind and accommodating. I have a shrimp allergy and they made sure to not have any type of cross contamination. The restaurant itself is pretty dated, however, this is exactly what I wanted. This is the perfect place to dress casual or even dress up, but I was in the mood to just chill and have some excellent sushi. A friend and I shared 4 rolls - mango tango, tuna lover, Ogden avenue roll, and the great Naperville roll. Everything was delicious and fresh. I would order all of these rolls again and I probably will! I'm also looking forward to trying their entire menu. It's that dang goooooood.

One standout for me was the spicy hamachi maki. You almost never see hamachi offered spicy (it's usually just tuna or salmon), and it was excellent, easily my favorite roll. On top of the food, the staff was beyond friendly and sweet. Everyone was welcoming and attentive without being overbearing, which made the experience even better. Definitely a spot I'll be coming back to.

Anyway, everything about the store is a win for me. I love the selection of produce, but sometimes they do run very low on things. They do offer a lot of products that are hard to find elsewhere and the quality is always really good . I don't go out of my way for organic, but they definitely have a really big selection Since Covid, I don't do hot bars, but they're premade meals are decent like the prime rib for like 10 bucks I found some of the best deals on really high-quality meat I've never been good at cooking steaks, but grabbed a Wagyu strip steak there for half off and it was easily the best thing I've ever made my family like their plates. Yes they're savages, but even they don't usually go that far. They have great selections of cheeses and ethnic spices that are hard to find in an actual supermarket so it's nice not to have to go to 20 different places. I love to cook, which means sometimes I need small amounts of spices if I'm trying something new so it's nice to be able to get most of them there. I think they originated in Ohio, so it's nice to see some of the Kroger offering since I lived there as a kid so it's nostalgic. The neighbor people that hanging out with the bar freaked me out a little bit not gonna lie. I don't get it. I can get behind one and have a drink as you walk through a grocery shopping but to go hang out at the grocery store for no reason, but to sit there and drink as people try to navigate their carts around you... yeah.... Weird. Sorry. Now here's what I definitely don't understand. Their cakes are so underrated unless I've just been walking through life with sunglasses in the AirPods. I have never heard anyone talk about how good their bakery is. They have a huge selection of premade stuff that isn't really their brand but the cupcakes that are made in the store and the cakes they make are incredible. The frosting for their buttercream, you can tell has actual butter in it most grocery stores around here for buttercream seem like they use shortening. I think Mariano's is fantastic and will definitely consider them when I need to order cakes in the future. The people there are also really helpful. My favorite is the woman that supervises the self checkout. She's incredibly friendly and helpful. She doesn't always come across that way initially because she doesn't seem outgoing but she really is great. I definitely say just throw this on your list of regular spots to shop.

The chefs signature rolls are so innovative, I've never had any rolls like them anywhere else! The flavors were surprising and delicious! With flavors like a truffle vinaigrette, garlic sauce and strawberry and mango featured in maki we were blown away with flavor! It was all so good. And it was beautifully plated. Also unique, Chef Soon has nigiri that also features unique flavor combinations an we had several that were so so tasty. I want to go back and try more! My favorite bite of the night is a tie between Chef Soon's Special Maki and the Zuke Salmon signature nigiri. The vibes of this restaurant are so hip for being in an unassuming location. If you're a cheesecake fan, it's a pretty sad way to end the meal. Thankfully my last sushi bite was the Zuke salmon, which is always excellent. We spent around $350, which normally isn't an issue because we've had great experiences here in the past. But this visit was frustrating. My sister-in-law has a serious allergy to seeds and peanuts, and we were crystal clear about needing no sesame. In the past, the staff has been extremely careful and accommodating. This time, two rolls came out with sesame. We were willing to let those slide and said it was fine. But then they brought out a third roll with sesame--and that's when we got agitated. At that point, it really ruined the shared meal we were hoping for. What was safe tasted great, but the repeated mistakes took the enjoyment out of the experience. We weren't in any rush, but it definitely felt like the kitchen was winding down for the night. Chef Soon also wasn't there, which was disappointing because it genuinely felt like the attention to detail wasn't the same without him. And not to sound cheap, but after that many allergy-related mistakes, there should have been some sort of acknowledgment of an apology, actions speak louder than words. In my opinion a small discount, a complimentary dessert or app, something should have been offered. Instead, nothing. Chef soon is my favorite sushi restaurant. I often tell anyone in Illinois it's the best I've been to here. Normally this is a solid five-star spot for us, but tonight was a three out of five at best. Mistakes happen, and I'll be back... but this visit was honestly pretty upsetting. I think I may be on a search for a new favorite sushi place for my sister.

The grounds feature a stately manor with indoor and patio seating, lots of garden space to roam with flowers and fountains to admire. I love just walking around here! The food is served tapas style, lots of small plates. And you definitely want to get a LOT of small plates because the servings are definitely small but feature a delicious taste of Spain. You can choose from hot and cold tapas, I recommend getting a mixture of both and our server recommended doing cold tapas, followed by hot. This is one of those dining experiences where you should plan to take your time and sit and sip on wine while ordering rounds of tapas throughout the evening. Some personal favorites for me were the Spanish tortilla, croquettes, beef medallions and the patatas bravas (these are spicy!!). They do have a kids menu and high chairs available. Enjoy the lovely service, atmosphere and food and feel transported to Madrid!
