This ramen spot in downtown Naperville was such a gem! The ambiance was fun, cozy, and welcoming, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy a meal. The food was absolutely delicious. The broth was rich and flavorful, and the chicken was cooked perfectly. It was sliced thin with an amazing crunch that somehow felt both satisfying and elegant. Every bite was packed with flavor. I loved everything about this experience and will definitely be back!
** Soft serve review only ** I stopped in after dinner for something sweet. This is the ONLY place I know in the SW burbs area that serves soft serve and I needed to try it. For dining in it appeared to be a fairly small-mid size restaurant. It looks similar to strings ramen, minimal with pops of color. I utilized the kiosk up front since we were only getting soft serve. The kiosk was easy to navigate. Within seconds of placing our order our sweet treat was ready. My cousin and I shared a cup of the matcha soft serve and a cup of the Ube soft serve. The consistency and texture were spot on and great. Creamy and thick. Flavors were not it for me. The Ube did not taste like Ube, it tasted like grape and vanilla. The matcha tasted like matcha but it was very bitter, which I know it is, but bc it was in ice cream form I thought it would be sweet. It left a very powdery coat on my mouth. Although I probably won't be back for the soft serve again, I'm happy I did try it!
First time at Ichiddo Ramen with my wife! The restaurant has a nice ambiance with good amount of lighting! We were immediately seated and our order was taken shortly - the food also arrived very quickly. The food tasted good and I definitely recommend this place in downtown Naperville if you are in the mood for Ramen.
We went in after dinner for tea. The matcha ice cream was super yummy, and it's big! Not bad for $6.30. Good for sharing after dinner. Our teas were super yum. Only one size - good size. Love the options for flavors and toppings. The shop is decorated so nicely. Love the vibe.
Super happy that we picked up the is place for lunch which I drove by a couple days earlier and noticed a new Ramen place which opened about half year ago. We have tried beef spicy ramen and fried chicken ramen. Both are really tasty without too much flavored. One of my favorites is the fried sweet potato which i don't see a lot around. Our sever was super attentive and accommodated our ask either all toppings on the side or noodles on the side. Parking could be a bit tricky on the street however there is a parking garage steps away. Will heading back for sure.
I loved the ambiance and the service the only thing I did not like was the soup was not hot at all when is cold And raining you need a hot soup to warm up The chicken wings were very well executed sweet crispy and hot The taro was very Light and flavor and not too sweet love it I wish they had parking spots you can park in the huge parking lot but is always full or park on the side the only bad thing is 15min or 30min who can eat relax and wait for your food to be ready in 3min Very sweet servers and loved the music
I was not expecting this. I fully expected the donburi to be super Americanized and not authentic at all. What I got was donburi that tastes just like they make in Japan. A reviewer commented that it was sweeter than she expected, but this is how the dish is made. Service was really fast and the restaurant clean and bright. I haven't tried the ramen yet. Based on the donburi I'll definitely be back
I gave them a second try with asking for the temperature of the ramen to be hotter so the egg and garnish doesn't cool it as much. That definitely helped and they were happy to make the adjustment for me. I also asked for extra spice on the side and they were happy to provide that as well. The ramen was brought up to 4 stars in my book! They earned the 5th star with a show of integrity! I usually don't eat the sliced pork in my ramen and they made a great suggestion that instead of ordering the ramen that comes with the sliced pork and asking for no sliced pork, order a custom ramen. He informed me that it saves you the cost of the pork which makes it half the price. I appreciate that they weren't looking to make money off of my mistake and educated me. Especially because I do this at every ramen shop I frequent, only to find out from each one that this was an option all along! That display of integrity is what makes this my new favorite ramen shop!
Came here on a Sunday afternoon for lunch with my family and it was moderately busy. We were greeted immediately and the staff was very friendly throughout the experience. Interior decor is very colorful with a fun holiday arch at the entrance and it has a lot of space and seating available. They have a lot of menu items to choose from. We ordered the harumaki (veggie egg rolls) and chicken karaage for starters, Char Siu Ramen for myself, Niku Soba Ramen for my wife, and a Shredded Char Siu Donburi for our daughter. We also ordered a jasmine green milk tea (0% sugar, no ice, no boba) and a classic black milk tea (0% sugar, no ice, with boba) for drinks. All of it came out fairly quickly. Harumaki was pretty good, but the chicken karaage came in smaller pieces and was on the drier side; flavor was okay but slightly lacking. The Char Siu Ramen is a decent size. Broth was a little salty and the meat itself was also kind of dry and didn't have much flavor. The bamboo shoots also have some spice on them which gave an unexpected kick to the dish, but as someone who is not big on spicy food, I could have done without it. The noodles were cooked well and the egg was great though. I tried some of the meat from my wife's Niku Soba Ramen and it was good. She just thought the dish was okay. The donburi was pretty big and also had a soft-boiled egg that was nicely cooked. The shredded char siu covered the top of the bowl but the rest was a lot of rice; not the best meat-to-rice ratio but if you love rice then this is a good choice. I enjoyed my classic black milk tea as the tea flavor was pretty good and the boba gives enough sweetness where I don't need to add extra sugar. The jasmine green milk tea, on the other hand, had no tea flavor and my wife and I both thought it just tasted like milk. We brought this up with the staff and asked if they could steep the tea for a little longer and remake it, but they said the tea was already made and they wouldn't be able to make it differently. However they were kind enough to take it off the check since we only had a few sips. At the end we tried the matcha soft serve ice cream since we love matcha soft serve, and this was pretty tasty. Personally I could always go for a stronger matcha flavor, but this was satisfying. Overall, I understand they recently opened and are likely still finding their groove and making adjustments, so I would probably come back to try some other menu items, or even see if they would end up making some of these dishes any differently. I would definitely stop by for the matcha soft serve if I'm in the area though.
I haven had them twice now. I got their char sui ramen. And of course a passion fruit tea. It was delicious. My mom ordered their bal wrapper in tofu and pork. It was all Good. The staff super friendly and helpful.
Ichiddo Ramen is a nice addition to downtown Naperville and brings some welcome food diversity to the area. It's directly on Washington St so you'll want to find some parking in one of the nearby garages unless you can find street parking. There should be something for everybody on this menu. Ichiddo offers boba, the normal appetizers (edamame, gyoza, etc.), ramen, donburi (rice bowls), and even stir fry. I came for the ramen, and the bowl satisfied my hunger. The toppings were plenty. The broth was not as well developed as other places I've been to, but it's not bad. The chicken kara age was okay, but the oil that it was fried in didn't seem clean. I'm used to that nice, bright golden color and soft yet crispy bite, but didn't get that with this order. If you need to cool down the spicy fire from eating, fortunately there's some decent boba tea drinks here. The coconut milk ones will definitely do the trick, and you can also specify sugar levels which is always nice to have. Ichiddo is off to a good opening start. Here's to it developing and finding its groove.
First time trying this restaurant in downtown Naperville. The restaurant is a long, somewhat narrow space that is nicely decorated. We were welcomed as we entered and again by several staff members when we left. It was pretty busy for a 1 PM on a Sunday, but cold weather in Chicago Brings us to warm yummy Ramen. I like spicy so I went with the red curry Ramen that came with shrimp and pork which I easily substituted for boiled chicken. Delicious Flavor and speedy service. A bit pricey for this dish at $16.95 with only two shrimp as I feel that that's more downtown Chicago prices but Ramen these days is popular and probably on point for price at most restaurants. Will go back.
I always drive by this place and finally decided to give it a try. It wasn't too busy when we walked in, and the service was quick and friendly. The restaurant was also very clean inside. I didn't get a chance to try their ice cream this time, but it looked amazing and is definitely on my list for next visit. We started with the pork bao bun, and it was a 10/10. The bread-to-meat ratio was perfect, and the sauce was delicious. We also ordered the lollipop shrimp, which was very good. The sweet and sour sauce that comes with it was even better than the teriyaki sauce. For our main dishes, we got the chicken stir-fry ramen and the Niku Soba ramen. Both were 10/10. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and flavorful. The broth in the Niku Soba was especially outstanding--probably one of the best ramen broths I've had. The pricing was reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. Overall, a great experience, and we'll definitely be back. read more

I was looking for a ramen that didn't have pork in it and I thought my options were slim, but the waitress said that I could just swap the broth and remove the pork. She was super helpful. I ordered the beef ramen and swapped the broth. It was flavorful and delicious. Not too salty, not too sweet. I felt like this was balanced. I couldn't resist and had to get the matcha mixed soft serve. It was perfect for the hot day. I definitely would come back and try a different ramen and ice cream. read more
I went with the common Char Sui Ramen. Came with 3 slices of pork belly, bamboo shoots, black fungus, and lots of green onion. The broth was really good and the noodles were definitely "springy" as they stated on their website. Was given a good portion. I ate the whole bowl and was full. Will have to come back to try a different ramen bowl that I never had before, like the Tsukemen. They also have a pretty decent amount of appetizers to choose from and specialty drinks. Staff are very nice and help box up any leftovers that you have. read more

Stopped by here with a group of friends for some bubble tea and dessert and enjoyed my experience. The service was quick and friendly, though surprisingly not too busy for a Sunday night. There was plenty of seating available inside the restaurant which was quite comfortable to sit in, where we were surrounded by lots of cool art along the walls. The drinks were fairly good, not too sweet, and not too pricey for the area. I also like the variety of different food items available on the menu to meet all types of cravings. read more

First visit and very pleased. Was hesitant because I have never had Ramen. Holy cow it's good fresh food. Place is well lit. Service was good. Knowledgeable about the menu when presented with questions. Girlfriend and I were both pleased and talking about what to try coming back. Went to this place spontaneously as I drove past it, and I would say that it's pretty okay. I ordered the Char Siu Ramen which was 16.95, and the broth was a little salty but the flavor was good! Ambiance and service were great!!! Nicely decorated and lots of space. Spicy miso ramen was good, could use some more spice but came out of the kitchen not piping hot like I expect ramen to. Beef donburi was also decent but much sweeter than I expected it to be. Gyoza were really good and sauce was great too! read more

This was my first time here and I am definitely coming back! Upon walking in, the atmosphere is bright and welcoming. They have separate seating for take out and dine in which is great to see. The customer service was very very good, our server was helpful, respectful, and attentive. Finally, the food came out hot and fresh. My only issue was I had to pay extra for the egg, but it was well worth it. Also if you are here don't miss out on their matcha soft serve! read more
