I didn't get a chance to try their ice cream this time, but it looked amazing and is definitely on my list for next visit. We started with the pork bao bun, and it was a 10/10. The bread-to-meat ratio was perfect, and the sauce was delicious. We also ordered the lollipop shrimp, which was very good. The sweet and sour sauce that comes with it was even better than the teriyaki sauce. For our main dishes, we got the chicken stir-fry ramen and the Niku Soba ramen. Both were 10/10. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and flavorful. The broth in the Niku Soba was especially outstanding--probably one of the best ramen broths I've had. I was looking for a ramen that didn't have pork in it and I thought my options were slim, but the waitress said that I could just swap the broth and remove the pork. She was super helpful. I went with the common Char Sui Ramen. Came with 3 slices of pork belly, bamboo shoots, black fungus, and lots of green onion. The broth was really good and the noodles were definitely "springy" as they stated on their website. Was given a good portion. I ate the whole bowl and was full. Will have to come back to try a different ramen bowl that I never had before, like the Tsukemen. They also have a pretty decent amount of appetizers to choose from and specialty drinks. ** Soft serve review only ** I stopped in after dinner for something sweet. This is the ONLY place I know in the SW burbs area that serves soft serve and I needed to try it. For dining in it appeared to be a fairly small-mid size restaurant. It looks similar to strings ramen, minimal with pops of color. I utilized the kiosk up front since we were only getting soft serve. The kiosk was easy to navigate. Within seconds of placing our order our sweet treat was ready. My cousin and I shared a cup of the matcha soft serve and a cup of the Ube soft serve. The consistency and texture were spot on and great. Creamy and thick. Flavors were not it for me. The Ube did not taste like Ube, it tasted like grape and vanilla. The matcha tasted like matcha but it was very bitter, which I know it is, but bc it was in ice cream form I thought it would be sweet. It left a very powdery coat on my mouth. Super happy that we picked up the is place for lunch which I drove by a couple days earlier and noticed a new Ramen place which opened about half year ago. We have tried beef spicy ramen and fried chicken ramen. Both are really tasty without too much flavored. One of my favorites is the fried sweet potato which i don't see a lot around. Our sever was super attentive and accommodated our ask either all toppings on the side or noodles on the side. That definitely helped and they were happy to make the adjustment for me. I also asked for extra spice on the side and they were happy to provide that as well. I usually don't eat the sliced pork in my ramen and they made a great suggestion that instead of ordering the ramen that comes with the sliced pork and asking for no sliced pork, order a custom ramen. He informed me that it saves you the cost of the pork which makes it half the price. I appreciate that they weren't looking to make money off of my mistake and educated me. Especially because I do this at every ramen shop I frequent, only to find out from each one that this was an option all along! Came here on a Sunday afternoon for lunch with my family and it was moderately busy. We were greeted immediately and the staff was very friendly throughout the experience. Interior decor is very colorful with a fun holiday arch at the entrance and it has a lot of space and seating available. They have a lot of menu items to choose from. We ordered the harumaki (veggie egg rolls) and chicken karaage for starters, Char Siu Ramen for myself, Niku Soba Ramen for my wife, and a Shredded Char Siu Donburi for our daughter. We also ordered a jasmine green milk tea (0% sugar, no ice, no boba) and a classic black milk tea (0% sugar, no ice, with boba) for drinks. All of it came out fairly quickly. Harumaki was pretty good, but the chicken karaage came in smaller pieces and was on the drier side; flavor was okay but slightly lacking. The Char Siu Ramen is a decent size. Broth was a little salty and the meat itself was also kind of dry and didn't have much flavor. The bamboo shoots also have some spice on them which gave an unexpected kick to the dish, but as someone who is not big on spicy food, I could have done without it. The noodles were cooked well and the egg was great though. I tried some of the meat from my wife's Niku Soba Ramen and it was good. She just thought the dish was okay. The donburi was pretty big and also had a soft-boiled egg that was nicely cooked. The shredded char siu covered the top of the bowl but the rest was a lot of rice; not the best meat-to-rice ratio but if you love rice then this is a good choice. I enjoyed my classic black milk tea as the tea flavor was pretty good and the boba gives enough sweetness where I don't need to add extra sugar. The jasmine green milk tea, on the other hand, had no tea flavor and my wife and I both thought it just tasted like milk. We brought this up with the staff and asked if they could steep the tea for a little longer and remake it, but they said the tea was already made and they wouldn't be able to make it differently. However they were kind enough to take it off the check since we only had a few sips. At the end we tried the matcha soft serve ice cream since we love matcha soft serve, and this was pretty tasty. Personally I could always go for a stronger matcha flavor, but this was satisfying. Overall, I understand they recently opened and are likely still finding their groove and making adjustments, so I would probably come back to try some other menu items, or even see if they would end up making some of these dishes any differently. I would definitely stop by for the matcha soft serve if I'm in the area though. read more

Ichiddo Ramen is a nice addition to downtown Naperville and brings some welcome food diversity to the area. It's directly on Washington St so you'll want to find some parking in one of the nearby garages unless you can find street parking. There should be something for everybody on this menu. Ichiddo offers boba, the normal appetizers (edamame, gyoza, etc.), ramen, donburi (rice bowls), and even stir fry. I came for the ramen, and the bowl satisfied my hunger. The toppings were plenty. The broth was not as well developed as other places I've been to, but it's not bad. The chicken kara age was okay, but the oil that it was fried in didn't seem clean. I'm used to that nice, bright golden color and soft yet crispy bite, but didn't get that with this order. If you need to cool down the spicy fire from eating, fortunately there's some decent boba tea drinks here. The coconut milk ones will definitely do the trick, and you can also specify sugar levels which is always nice to have. Ichiddo is off to a good opening start. We were welcomed as we entered and again by several staff members when we left. It was pretty busy for a 1 PM on a Sunday, but cold weather in Chicago Brings us to warm yummy Ramen. I like spicy so I went with the red curry Ramen that came with shrimp and pork which I easily substituted for boiled chicken. Delicious Flavor and speedy service. A bit pricey for this dish at $16.95 with only two shrimp as I feel that that's more downtown Chicago prices but Ramen these days is popular and probably on point for price at most restaurants. Came here on a Sunday afternoon for a late lunch and the restaurant was pretty busy but still had seating available. We were seated right away at a table in the back. Service seemed scattered. We had to flag down someone several times for either water or more napkins. My mother in law also asked for hot water which she never received. We ordered the chicken karaage which was pretty lacking in flavor and needed to rely on the sauce. I ordered a jasmine green milk tea and it tasted like mostly milk and barely had any tea flavor. When asked if they could remake it with more tea we were told that they pre-make their tea so this couldn't be adjusted. However, they took it off the bill. I had the niku soba ramen in tonkotsu broth (fish cake, green onion, sesame seeds, pork belly, and onion). The broth was pretty salty and the noodles didn't taste like soba. The toppings were scarce and I wish it came with an egg. Hubby had the char siu ramen (roasted pork belly, fish cake, half cooked egg, bamboo shoot, black fungus, green onion, black garlic oil, soy sauce base). He thought the broth was also salty and the char siu was dry. We ordered a char siu donburi (char siu pork, Japanese mayo, green onion, rice seasoning nori over white rice) for our toddler. The bowl consisted of 80% rice and 20% meat. We finished off with a matcha soft serve which had decent matcha flavor and was creamy. Overall, would like to give Ichiddo Ramen the benefit of the doubt since they are a newer establishment but may need some time to work out the kinks. read more
