Very clean. Nice music, playing. Really cute pictures on the walls. Lots of descriptions. Gorgeous pictures of the food. Comfortable casual, delicious. Decent prices. Good location

Came back during another visit to Naperville. This time I tried the chicken biryani, it was a bit spicy was but definitely delicious. The yogurt sauce was a nice touch. The service today was a bit slower and less attentive despite the restaurant being nearly empty and being there super early for dinner. I would return as everything was super fresh and tasted great again. I would urge them to check on tables more frequently and be sure to check on spice levels of every dish during the ordering process.

We were craving some authentic South Indian food and when I saw Madhurai Kitchen on my IG feed, I knew I had to try it! It's such a cute spot with such beautiful decor inside! They use traditional steel plates and utensils for serving and eating, which is unlike most Indian restaurants I've been to! The service was super fast and we were in and out in less than an hour! We ended up getting vegetable korma with porotha, Vada, and podi idli. You guys, everything was absolutely delicious and tasted like I was sitting at a restaurant in India! The Vada and Idli were perfectly cooked and the side of sambar and coconut chutney paired so perfectly with both. The vegetable korma and porotha was so yummy! The korma was spicy and had a coconut taste and the porotha was so crispy and chewy yet soft at the same time! The flavor is truly unbeatable, I don't think I've tasted better South Indian food anywhere compared to this place! I will say that the portion sizes are a bit small for the prices that you pay, but again - the food is unreal and I would still come back if I was craving South Indian food! 10/10 highly recommend!

    Regular Thaali Meals WEEKDAY ONLY

It is rare, close to never, that I will visit a desi restaurant twice in one week - Madurai Kitchen has somehow managed to draw me back within the week. It's not somehow, actually, I know exactly how. From their absolutely delicious food, to their prompt and sweet service, to the ambiance - everything at Madurai Kitchen is top notch. Let's start with the food. These are the things I've tried in my two visits: The Veg Thaali - I mention this first because this is the item that we specifically came back for. It's very rare that EVERY item of a Thaali is delicious, and this Thaali happens to manage it! From the Kathrikai (eggplant) to the Rasam (omg, the tart goodness is to die for!) to the Veg Kuruma, each item is scrumptious and finger licking! We had Halwa one day and Payasam the next time and both desserts were delicious! The Thaali comes with chapaati which was delicious but the next time we ordered the Thaali with Parotta, just because it was so good... Which brings me to the Parotta: the Parotta is a layered, flaky bread that is so good it can literally be eaten on its own. Its flaky layers pair well with any curry, but this would be great dipped in just milk or tea. We kept ordering additional pieces of Parotta because it was just too good! Parotta/Chicken Chukka/Chicken Salna Combo: we already know the Parotta is amazing, however, the chicken chukka was exceptional. Spicy, flavorful with subtle notes of curry leaves. The chicken salna is very comforting and feels like it's made by a Nani or Dadi in a home kitchen. Mutton Chukka - we ordered this on the second visit, since we loved the chicken chukka so much. This was, again, exceptional. The meat is just melt in your mouth, and succulent, and incredibly flavorful and spicy! Andhra Goat Curry - the goat curry is delicious, but not my favorite. Prawn Masala - this was also more tomato based than I like, but the prawns were cooked well and not rubbery. Pretty darn good, especially paired with warm white rice! MK Special Tiffin - the idli was perfect, not overly spongy, and not overly dense. The sambar was delicious. The medhu vada was the STAR, along with the DOSA. The dosa was incredibly crisp and fermented perfectly. The Ghee Pongal was buttery and delicious. Lastly, the star of the show, the Lime Soda (Salt) - this beverage can be made seeet or salt or even with added masala! We went for the salty version of this, and my God, this was a flavor explosion! I ordered it the first time, then the second, and then one to go! Yeah, it's THAT tangy, tart, citrus-y, and and refreshing! Now to come to the ambiance and service. The first time we went there were a few people in there, but when we went Friday night, it was PACKED! Absolutely packed! Clearly the news of excellent food and service have reached far and wide - the power of word of mouth! The servers are young girls running around and doing their absolute best - from explaining the menu items to getting the items to the tables in a timely manner. Our server, the first time, was Liya who patiently answered all our questions and made great suggestions. She was clearly very adept at her job, and very accommodating. The next time we had Meghna, and I tell you this girl (and Liya) were just powering through the entire restaurant and ensuring everyone got their food on time. Both girls were exceptionally sweet, soft spoken, courteous and polite. I definitely had to send a shout out to both of them!

This is the third South Indian restaurant we tried in Naperville and Warrenville area and we were surprised to find that there weren't that many people at this place. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We arrived around 6 pm on a weeknight and it was drafty! We were so cold.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There are no paper menus and we ordered through their app. We tried the MK Special Tiffin with idli, vada, ghee Pongal, masala dosa, and dessert which was gulab jamun. It was good. The chutney had a little acidic after taste. The thaali had a small banana leaf on the bottom which was a nice touch. Our waiter was nice and asked us periodically if we wanted anything. When we were checking out and wanted to split the bill, they made it easy for us and didn't charge is extra for that. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There are interesting images and stories posted around the restaurant, definitely cool to learn a little bit more about Indian culture.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

The food was absolutely flavourful. The quantity especially of the Chilly paneer and that goat curry didn't do justice to the price. Overall it was an average experience.

We visited this restaurant on a Saturday for lunch. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's pretty spacious in a great location that has a friendly service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered the Onion Rava Dosa, which was nice and crispy, with delicious chutneys and sambhar. The Parotta-Chicken Chukka-Chicken Salna combo platter was a mixed experience--the Chicken Chukka, a dry chicken entrée, was tasty, but the Chicken Salna gravy was diluted and lacked flavor. Service was way too slow, and the overall taste could be better.

Tried this place over dinner with my husband. We started with Lime Soda and Coke. For appetizers, we had Madurai Chicken 65. Then we ordered Combo plate of Vada, Idli, Ghee Pongal and Masala Dosa. My husband tried the Goat Biryani. The food was delicious and flavorful with being spicy. Our server Meghna was super sweet, warm and attentive. The ambiance is great with all the modern furniture and decor. The place is super clean as well. There is plenty of parking outside the restaurant. I would definitely recommend this place! MUST TRY!! Overall 4.5 Stars

Ten minutes later, as I'm driving past the drive thru windows to park and go in, I notice both windows were covered entirely on the inside with paper. When I greeted the barista inside and inquired about the drive thru, I was assured the drive thru was open. No explanation was offered as to why there was no response to my presence in the drive thru lane. SERVICE (inside): I ordered a Bloom & Buzz (hot) latte. There was a four top of guests already seated and waiting for their order when I paid for mine. 20 minutes later, with the four top now served, the barista picked up a plastic cup and proceeded to make an iced coffee drink. Upon completing the process, she took the cup and walked out of my direct line of sight, standing behind a pole with only her hair visible to me. After standing there for a minute or so, she returned to the counter and started to address me. I approached the counter to better hear what she was saying. She explained that she was unable to make my hot latte because the hot coffee machine was down. When I pointed out that she had just served three of the four customers ahead of me a hot coffee, she said, "yeah, but those took hot water.". She went on to ask if it was okay if she made me an iced latte instead. Having already waited more than 20 minutes inside at this point, I said that was fine. She then reached to her side (where she'd previously hid), grabbed the iced coffee I'd watched her make before the claims of the broken machine and handed it to me. Instead of owning the fact that she'd mistakenly made an iced latte instead of the hot one I'd ordered, she'd chosen to cover what was an innocent mistake with a lie. I told her as much and left. AMBIANCE: This is a darling little cafe. If the service hadn't been so atr, I'd have enjoyed drinking my coffee there. COFFEE: Way too sweet for my liking. If I were to go back, which I won't, I'd order my next one half-sweet.

Two weeks before the event, I came in person with a printed cake design, a clear color theme (green, cream, and white), and a macaron accent order to go with it. I was flexible on the design details, just committed to the vision. On the day of pickup, I arrived a little late -- my fault -- but there was no cake waiting, and my order couldn't be found. Hannah behind the counter did her best, and when owner Robert walked in, I calmly explained everything from the start. I won't lie -- I was heartbroken more than angry. This was a big night. What happened next is why I'm writing this review. Robert and his team didn't hesitate. They snapped a photo of the design from my phone, asked every detail, and promised to make it right -- with Robert personally delivering the cake to the venue (thankfully just 5 minutes away). And he did. He showed up with the cake designer in tow and delivered something truly stunning: a handsome, elegant cake that fit the theme perfectly and genuinely wowed my brother and guests. And the flavor? Their Atomic. Banana (pudding), strawberries (jam), and chocolate, vanilla & banana cake. YUM! It was incredibly moist and delicious. What could have been a devastating hiccup for such a milestone night became one of the most memorable parts of the celebration. That's a testament to Robert and his team's character, dedication, and craft. Thank you, Area 51 Cupcakery. We've loved your cupcakes from day one, and this experience only deepened our loyalty. I've never seen pavlova in a bakery; she filled a meringue shell with cream and fruit, and it was indeed delightful, certainly worth coming back for in spring when strawberries/fresh fruit is at its peak. The alfajor was crisp/crumbly and not too sweet; the empanadas are baked, not fried, and she warmed them up. It's more spinach than cheese, but quite respectable. The key lime pie was also respectable, with a crumbly crust; the filling was tasty but more of it would be good. The vibe is classic with lots of wood, and plenty of comfortable seating. However, if you choose to take advantage of their WiFi, you are asked to buy a drink first, and then every 30 minutes after an hour. I understand where this comes from, and it serves as a deterrent from someone buying one drink and spending a working day in here.
