We came here on a Wednesday night. It wasn't busy, and the restaurant had plenty of tables. The place is clean and nicely decorated. We ordered the fried tofu, Burmese mashed potatoes, Shan noodles with chicken, and fish chowder soup. The fried tofu was something different. They made it with chickpea flour. The mashed potatoes are like mashed potatoes with hot chili oil on it. The fish chowder soup was good. The soup was super tasty with the noodles. The shan noodles were chewy with a lighter taste if you add the soup to them. If you eat it dry with the sauce, it has a stronger taste. Service was good. The staff came back a few times to see if you needed anything else. I would go back to try other dishes on the menu.

We came here after Bonita Bowls. You can find free street parking at night in front of the restaurant as well as the parking garage across the street. I like this place more than Pa Lian because the hours are a lot better. 9 pm is the sweet spot for almost everyday. There were plenty of seating, there were only two other tables besides us. We ordered fried tofu, Burmese mashed potatoes, shan noodle with chicken, and fish chowder soup. Service was attentive but I think he could have cleared our dishes at the end. Prices were fair. Overall, it's a solid 4. -fried tofu 3.5 - without the sauce, the fried tofu has no taste. However, I did like how crispy the outside texture was. -Burmese mashed potatoes 4 - the mashed potatoes taste good when you add some of the chili oil to it. Without the chili oil, it's not bad. -shan noodle with chicken 5 - this is the star of the show. There's a cup of broth that you get with it. You can eat the noodles without the broth. The tomato flavor is more bold, but if you add the broth in the noodles the flavor is more even. You can do it with or without. I added the broth in. I liked how chewy the noodles were. There was a good amount of minced chicken and the ground peanuts added more texture. -fish chowder soup 5 - the broth is more subtle than the shan noodle. You have different toppings to add in. The soup is still good especially on a cold day,

Cute restaurant with good food and service. Burmese food is similar to Thai food, but less sweet and stronger Indian influences. Hot tea $3 - You get a whole pot of tea and refill on hot water. Burmese Eggrolls $8 (3) - Mushy on the inside, not one I would order again. Burmese Fried Tofu $8 - I can see why this is a popular appetizer. Great texture, crispy on the outside. Watercress Salad $14 - Unique salad with great flavors. Shan Noodles $18 - Tasty if you're in the mood for noodle soup. Pad kra pao - chicken $17 - Flavorful and delicious. Pad See Ew $17 - Big flat wide noodles cooked with good texture. Only had chicken and green onions, would be nice to have more veggies. Singha Bottle $6.50 Mango sticky rice $8 - Can't go wrong with mango sticky rice for dessert. .|\---/| | @_@ | ..\_^_/..2025

Overall really good experience, service was friendly and welcoming. I recommend the Green tea leaf salad especially if you're used to papaya salad. It gave the same vibes but not spicy - I'm sure you could ask to add spice. I enjoyed the coconut noodles, it was really light. I also liked the pickled mango pork, I asked for mine to be spicy. The pork was so tender, the pickled mango was sour and both paired well with the spice, it was a great flavor explosion.

The restaurant itself is very nicely decorated. Food is really tasty, and service very friendly. This used to be a Thai restaurant, and the owner decided to switch to Burmese cuisine last year.

We placed a to-go order on a Saturday night and the process was quick and easy. Our order included Samosas, Tea Leaf Salad, Chicken Pad Thai, and Beef Pad Kra Pao. I tried to get Mango Sticky Rice, but they were out, so I went for the Banana Cake -- which was also unavailable. Our food was ready in about 25 minutes and arrived piping hot, which I really appreciated. The Pad Thai was tasty, but I didn't realize it would come without egg or cilantro, which are my favorite parts of the dish, so I'll customize it next time. The Tea Leaf Salad was a standout -- crunchy, slightly spicy, and very filling. Overall, we had a great experience and I'm looking forward to visiting Burma O'Clock in the future.

Made the almost hour-long drive with my family to try this place because there aren't too many Burmese restaurants and it's part of our background. Samosas: really delicate and packed with potatoes. Didn't feel greasy. Tea leaf salad: not really my jam, but interesting and diverse salty flavors. My parents said there weren't many tea leaves My dad spoke Burmese with our server and got a special order of this fried squash which was really interesting. Chicken noodles. Not as good as my aunt makes and not too much coconut flavor, but it was still really good. Very nice flavors on the chicken, and the soup(sauce) was yummy. Also really nice presentation. Moh hinga fish soup: my parents said they would've wanted more fish flavor. But I can understand if they lessened that flavor to make it more palatable for the average customer. I thought it tasted good, again really nice presentation, too. Loved the grass jelly drink, they make it in house. Also really liked the decor, my parents were geeked and took many pictures around the restaurant.

Holy crap the food here is amazing. I ordered so many things and they were all delightful. It was a to go order so the service and ambiance I have no idea but frankly the food was so amazing I don't actually care about that stuff.

First time trying Burmese food and there couldn't have been a better place to have it. Food: Shan Noodle was delicious, had a really great sweet savory flavor, it was fresh and perfectly cooked and the sides paired really well (very clean chicken broth and nice pickled mustard greens). Also had the Burmese fried tofu, which they explained was unique because it was made from chickpeas. Really delicious with the side sauce. Interior: Extremely clean, great ambience and environment. Feels like a nicer restaurant while having affordable prices. Staff: The best. The waiter was extremely kind and helpful in introducing Burmese food, he was attentive and made the experience a delight. The owner was very friendly - she's from Burma and is also the chef, and you could tell she's very passionate about sharing her culture through food. Overall: Wish I lived closer because it'd be a regular spot. Great value and wonderful people, highly recommend.

Great service, tasty and unique items. We were new to Burmese food and our waiter was happy to walk us through the menu. Try the tea salad, it's one-of-kind!

What a cute little diner! The decorations are lovely and the food is amazing! Get the grass jelly - it's not from a can, they make it at the bar! The server was so polite and told us all about the delicious meal.

I'd rate it on par, or even better, than San Francisco's Burmese options. Service was much friendlier here, that's for sure! Tawk was a delightful host...making jokes along with dish recommendations. Sadly, we gobbled up the food before I remembered to take photos. D'oh! I highly recommend the Tea Leaf salad--a Burmese staple and a real treat if you haven't had it before. Very flavorful and just a hint of spice (don't eat the sliced peppers if you're spice-adverse, but we devoured them). We also had Shan Noodles (B8). I also recommend that. A mild to medium spice level and very tasty. Generous portions. Two dishes was enough for two though I wish we had tried the spring rolls or samosas too--we might have had leftovers if we had! The restaurant itself is inviting and clean. They did a good job considering the location in a strip mall. The lighting looks nice, and the textured walls add to the inviting ambience.

Pretty quiet for a Saturday night, however with nice music playing in the background I felt right at home. Rare to find Burmese restaurants outside of the West Coast. Naturally, the first thing I ordered was the tea leaf salad, followed by moh-hin-gar and nangyi dok with beef. All 3 dishes were delicious and I would order them again. There were a lot of vegan options too. I don't often think of the suburbs as a dining destination, but this was certainly worth the stop on the way back the city from West Chicago.

I've eaten at many Thai restaurants in the Chicago and surrounding suburbs. Food is usually too sweet or salty, proteins are overcooked, or give sparingly. I've come to just accept it lol. This place was the best I've seen for years! Padwoonsen - Beef was moist and perfectly seasoned not too sweet or salty. Veggies plentiful. Noodles dry (not soggy) just like it's supposed to be! Papaya salad- large portion. A little on sweet side but I asked for little spicy so probably catering to American taste which tends to be sweeter. Rice soup - got a small. rice soaked most of soup by the time it got to me. take out container was not great (styrofoam) but flavor still good. Our waitress greeted us and took our beverage order. Our starters were 4 Piece Crab Rangoon and 5 Piece Pot Sticker. The Crab Rangoon was super crunchy and surprisingly meaty. I loved them. Seating was a little tight like at Phodega, but not terrible. To view menu, you scan a QR code at the table. My husband & I ordered the following: - Grilled Squid This was really good! I thought it was going to come out like little calamari rings, but it was actually a decently sized whole squid, sliced with the tentacles on the side. It was cooked perfectly as it was not chewy or rubbery. The flavor was great, especially with the paired Thai-spicy seafood sauce. - Crab Meat Fried Rice Loved that this was with real crab! & not the imitation crab. There were bits of crab meat throughout the rice and then topped with a big lump of crab meat. It came served with a lime & yummy fish sauce with fresh Thai chili's. - Bamee Noodles with BBQ Pork without broth This bowl of egg noodles had a slightly sweet flavor to it, served with a fox amount of BBQ Pork which was also nice & tender! Slurped it all up! - Jina's Fried Chicken This was good, but not anything like out of this world. It was fried chicken leg quarter, served with black sticky rice. - Sweet Sticky Rice with Mango LOVED this! It was a great way to end our meal! I loved that it came with extra sweet sauce! - Taro Tapioca in Coconut Milk Cream This was great too! It was actually a warm dessert. The menu described it as "Tapioca pearls" so I was expecting the tiny little clear boba balls, but it was cubes of like glutinous rice. Which was not bad! I liked it a lot; it reminded me of Ginataang Bilo Bilo (#iykyk if you're Filipino)! Overall, a delicious experience! We would eat here again!
