Since Lom Ling closed in Lombard, I've been looking for a quality replacement Chinese/Asian Restaurant. Surprisingly I found it in Thai Kitchen.... Just about a month ago. Since then I've discovered their Ginger Chicken is PHENOMENAL! And I can't stop ordering 2 items, the Egg Rolls are crispy and delicious, and the Egg Drop Soup (made fresh when ordered with 2 real eggs every time). All of the Fried Rice luncheons are excellent as well.... The young Lady who takes my order every time I've been there is very friendly and most helpful in guiding me thru the menu.... Given the high review, we stopped by to check it out. My husband thought the food was just OK, a bit too greasy and the Thai coffee was too sweet. I liked that the lunch special had some cucumber pieces to cleanse the palate. My Pad Thai reminds me of the college Thai food that is well made enough but might seem a bit premade. If you like the profile, slightly sticky and chewy noodles with pretty strong sweet flavor profile, this is not bad. Egg roll was light and crunchy, some might like that. Overall I think the Thai flavor is a bit muted, and it's leaning sweet to fit non-Asian palate. It's not bad, but also I think there are better Thai places around Chicago. read more

Since my first visit, I have developed a standard order for take out here nearly once a month: Spring Rolls and the Chicken Satay. If possible, it's only gotten better each time. The chicken is pounded incredibly thin, yet remains juicy and is perfectly spiced and cooked. The bite size rolls are always crunchy and flavorful, especially when dipped in either the lightly sweetened dressing provided or their perfectly balanced chili oil. Strangely enough, however, I usually devour the little cup of cucumber and onion salad that comes with it before anything else - so yummy! The service is always quick, accurate and very friendly; and I'm really happy to be able to whole-heartedly support a hometown business. read more

Really disappointed with this place!! First day First time and sadly the LAST TIME! June 17th had to stop in for a quick snack and test their Fried egg-rolls. OMG the Best I ever had considering a fast carryout! June 18th called in an order for 3 people and ordered 3 egg-rolls,1 crab Rangoon, 2 fish cakes the size of a nuggets, 6 skinny's shrimps and 1 thai shrimp fried rice with 2 shrimps and supposedly eggs and onions, 1 plain fried rice with vegetables which was plain, for a whopping $97 dollars. I had called ahead and did some takeout here for dinner. Overall I thought food was just okay. In general, I found all the dishes we had ordered to be on the bland side. The tom kha kai (chicken with mushroom in a coconut milk soup) was okay. Pad thai with chicken was alright. Portion was a bit small. And the Pad Kee-Mao also felt a bit light on the portion, but most disappointing was the beef was very overcooked. Currently no dine in is available, but strictly take out. Shopping plaza is a bit run down. Staff was friendly, but all in all feel a bit let down seeing the 4.5 star rating on Yelp. 'Til next time, cheers! read more

I just got an email from Yelp Chicago Suburbs with a list of Thai restaurants. I said "if Thai Kitchen isn't on this list, I'm going to be mad". So now I'm mad, but I decided to take it out on Yelp by writing a great review instead. Thai Kitchen is wonderful! Consistent, fresh, and a great value as you can often get two to three meals out of one order. Favorites in our house are the green curry, cashew chicken, shrimp Thai rice, and chicken satay. Food is always made quickly, service is lovely, and they're right across the street from the library so you can get some books, then get some grub. Bon apetit! read more

First, this really isn't dine in, although we did eat there. There are two tables, a table that seats 2 people and a table that seats 4 people. We highly recommend to go order. Second, this is, by far,the best Thai food we have ever eaten. We eat Thai food often when we travel to the DFW METROPLEX. We have never eaten any Thai food this good. The spring rolls are to die for and this is the first time we've ever had them without being fried. I had shirmp pad Thai (not pictured) and the shrimp were huge and the meal itself was a very generous portion. My wife had the chicken pad Thai, (pictured below), she said it was spicy and very good. I've ordered from here several times over the past few years and for the most part have REALLY enjoyed their food, although I feel they suffer from inconsistency every once in a while but they genuinely have the BEST crab rangoons I've ever come across. A few of the other dishes I've really enjoyed from here are their pad Thai, pad see ew, and Thai boat noodles! I found GREAT Thai food in the suburbs FINALLY! i have to say this place is worth a try, their massamam curry is perfect and i cant wait to try their other traditional Thai dishes on the menu. They are located in Lombard on Main Street. I they have a nice selection of items on their menu but I opted for my favorite stand by Thai food. I ordered a spicy basil garlic chicken dish. I love the taste of Thai basil, mixed w/Thai chili peppers and ground chicken. The meal was perfectly prepared w/fresh Thai basil, red, green peppers, onions, garlic, Thai hot chili peppers, mushrooms & green beans. My son and I were craving Thai. This place got such great reviews, so we ordered some takeout tonight. I think I found my new Thai spot! On the menu for tonight was 2 tofu pad thai entrees - one regular and one spicy. One order of crab rangoon and one order of chive dumplings. Total with tax was $35. Not too hard on the wallet. We got free delivery through DoorDash. The pad thai was delicious - the aroma of peanut hits you when you remove the container lid. The crab rangoon was perfect. Pretty good take out/delivery. Fast, food was hot, and good value. I had the Pad Thai with Chicken and Crab Rangoon and both were solid. Good portion, sauce was good (normal order as is, is not spicy so if you like the heat ask for it) and the lunch special was a good value, came with cucumber salad in a small cup, spring roll, and drink. The interior doesn't look like much effort was put into looks, but the food shows a lot of thoughtfulness, so this is a perfect example of don't judge a book by its cover! Dishes are authentic Thai flavors, and portion sizes were very generous. We ordered Beef Pad Thai, Basil Eggplant with Chicken, and Nam Sod Salad. There was no dumbing down of tamarind, basil, or fish sauce respectively - you're getting the full flavor punches of these glorious sauces. Best Thai food I've had near my parents place that did not require driving downtown for! Small and quaint family-owned business. They're the true testament of service with a smile here! Warning before stopping by: there are only two tables for dining in: one that seats 4-5 and one that seats 2. There are no fountain drinks served here, only bottled water and canned pepsi and 7-up. If you plan on eating here, it may be best to order carry-out. The food here reminds me a lot about the fastfood mom-and-pop restaurants that dot all around Bangkok. The pad thai was perfect and served with a peanuts, bean sprouts, cabbage, carrots, and lime on the side. My mom ordered the papaya salad and asked for it extra spicy and they do not lie when they say that the food can get spicy! We also had moo ping (Thai grilled pork on skewers) which comes with a side dipping sauce that is sweet and spicy (very spicy). Some recommendations for newbies is to be careful when ordering spice at this restaurant -- they don't joke around! If you're looking for authentic Thai food, this is the place to go! I come here every now and then when my family crave for Thai. My husband loves their spicy beef pad see ew. When I asked for "spicy", the chef really gives me spicy. My husband gets hiccups from it but he loves it! Haha! My favorite is their pad Thai, Kee-Mao noodles , and moo-ping (marinated pork in sticks). The flavor is always on point so I love coming here. Lunch special includes salad , an egg roll, and a pop that cost less than $8! What a great deal. They always give a good amount of food as well. There are two small tables if 2-3 people wants to dine in. I usually do carry out so I call 30 minutes ahead. My carryout is usually ready by the time I get there. Yes, finally! A good Thai place that isn't an hour drive away from me. I like this place for two reasons: 1) It's spicy enough for me. 2) The dishes all taste amazing. It is indeed a very family ran restaurant who will offer you their true opinion about your food choices. I ordered the tom kha gai soup, pad kee mow, green curry and crab ragoons. First, the ragoons (yeah, I know. It's my guilty pleasure, though!) was definitely one of the best ones I've had. The sweetness of the ragoon itself mixed with the tanginess of the dip it came with was amazing. The curry and the soup had so much filling in them with a lot more vegetables than other restaurants in comparison. I ordered all of my dishes asking if they had anything spicer than Thai spicy and told them to bring on the pain. I was definitely sweating by the end of the meal. I also loved how they leave pieces of the lemongrass and galangal in the curry. Makes me feel like I'm eating at my mom's house with that level of informality. The pad kee mow was a little mushier than I was anticipating but I loved the flavors so much that it didn't take away from the dish at all. I'm coming back. The location didn't deter me, I have eaten street food in Bangkok with my hands lol. We were in the mood for some Pad Thai and decided to try takeout from here. We easily ordered through GrubHub. Basically, come here for the $8 Pad Thai Lunch Special, available weekdays , 11 AM to 3 PM (according to the paper menu) or 2 PM (according to GrubHub). Pad Thai Lunch Special - so good for $8. Came with a little egg roll. Clear Noodle Salad - was so disappointed this salad was packaged up hot and didn't come with any dressing. The menu denotes a spicy homemade dressing would be included, so we just used the watery sweet and sour ginger dressing that came with the tofu spring rolls. This was tasty only after we refrigerated it. Tofu Spring Rolls - good! Ask for extra dipping sauce. Seafood Madness - pass. Just not so fresh seafood in very OK red curry. Good news...they were spot on for request heat. Had basil fried rice that was tasty, but too dry. The curry was okay, but the tofus was old and soggy. The spring rolls were a total fail. They made some attempt at a blend of a sushi roll....it fell apart and just didn't taste good. read more
