I've been going to the location on Devon since I was like 6. First time coming to this location. Lady at the front counter seemed passive aggressive initially but she was actually really nice. Not a long wait for food either. I ordered the chilli chicken biryani which is a popular dish at the Devon location. Lots of food, price was decent too. Now here's the reason why I'm giving this place two stars. As my buddy is sitting at the booth eating, i notice something strange on the wall. Walking. Towards him. It was a baby cockroach. We stopped eating the second we saw that and walked out. I paid for a mango lassi to go, but after seeing the little critter on the wall I changed my mind. Not going to go on about cleanliness, but seeing a roach in a food establishment is a big no from me. 2 stars for the nice customer service, but also 2 stars for finding out about the roaches AFTER I ate my food. I get it, some people may not be bothered by this...I have no issue with that, so long as those people are not running restaurants themselves. read more

They offer everything from Butter Chicken and Achar Gosht to Daal, Bindi, Haleem, Nihari, Chili Chicken, and much more--all under $15 each. You can pair your meal with naan, garlic naan, paratha, or rice. On weekends, they also serve Halwa and Puri, though I haven't tried it yet. The seating area is open until 11:30 pm. This is the suburban location of their main branch on Devon Ave. If you like the location and the food on Devon Ave you will love this one. Exact same menu of Pakistani and Indian halal food. They are open late and located in a strip mall off a busy street and have plenty of parking. They have fast food style setup. You will place the order at the front counter and pay on the spot. Once the food is ready they will call out your order and you can pick it up. They have a decent seating area. I would rate their food in decent to good range. Their prices are the best when it come to the Desi food. Fr example their chicken biryani is $7 with a generous portion size. Something similar at their competitor May cost you $12. In addition to the chicken biryani I would also recommend their chili chicken. While you are there make sure to order the pratha along with naan. read more

Decent hole in the wall kind of place. The person at the counter is quite nice and helpful. Quantity is top notch, the quality suffers a bit, I guess with the bulk cooking. The interiors could be improved, but then, hey they have Ghareeb (poor) in the name, so don't have too high hopes for a classy sit-down place. read more

Checked out Ghareeb Nawaz for the first time and the food here is really good! Ordered the Boneless Chicken Biryani with a side order of Garlic Naan. The chicken was very tender and cooked to perfection, with just the right blend of spices and rice. The Garlic Naan was also huge and paired perfectly with our meal. One thing that stood out to me was their generous portions! They give you so much at such a good price and they even have lunch special pricing at just $4.99. It's rare to find such a good deal noways especially for the quality and quantity of food you get here. The portions were so generous that I had enough leftover for 2 more meals. The restaurant has indoor seating and they are open til 12AM every single day. Service is really good here and we were able to get our food super quickly. They have a wide variety of dishes to choose from with generous portions and unbeatable value. Will be back for more! read more

We drove 30 minutes out of our way home to try the food here based on an online recommendation. It was so worth it. The butter chicken and chili chicken were so good. This is a great no frills casual place to have a simple meal. Everything is made fresh and portions are generous. They offer so many specials. If you go before noon, some plates are $1 - $3!!! Also has several weekday plate specials $4.99 (as of 10/16/21 the date of this review). The chicken biryani we ordered was packed enough for 2 people easily and had plenty of chicken pieces. They actually have several kinds of Biryani not just chicken. The puri's with the halva were more like batoori's (thicker and tastier than puri's - see my picture) and a good size. The egg omelette paratha platter was very good as well. We really loved the shami's. They had a very good flavor and they used a good amount of beef in them. We also took home a dozen tandoori naan as they only charge $1 each and are the same size as all the restaurants that over charge! Great casual place to eat or take out. Tried the chicken tikka masala with paratha, wasn't very impressed, it had a lot of red color and tasted like an ordinary chicken and gravy. I heard their lam biryani is a speciality but it was finished so we couldn't try! The ambience was not that great, but similar to what most desi restaurants are like, no decor, just meta tables and chairs. It was overall clean but seemed like someone recently mopped with a strong chemical so the whole place smelt like cleaning agent. We tried Ghareev Nawaz, which I think means "Generous Stranger" or "Stranger Generosity" in Arabic (according to Google). We were looking for a place to get some chicken Marsala and butter chicken, and so we decided to stop by. I wasn't familiar with too many of the dishes, perhaps because I hadn't really had Pakistani food in the past. We did see the familiar butter chicken and ended up ordering two servings of that, the garlic Naan, and one serving of rice. The portion sizes were pretty epic, probably because we didn't order the combination plates, but it was a really good deal for $25. The rice was cooked well and super delicious! The naan wasn't quite as soft as I usually have had, but it was pretty fresh! And the butter chicken was okay, but maybe I'm more used to sweeter dishes. I don't think I'll order the butter chicken next time, but I'd be open to trying another dish, maybe based on the restaurant's recommendation. read more

My kids love chicken biryani and butter chicken. Our favorite place was closed so we tried Ghareeb Nawaz instead. It was outstanding and so reasonably priced! I love this place the food is so delicious and it's so much food! The veggie plate had samples of all of the curries, rice, bread, and white sauce. We also got potatoes Samosa (not pictured) we ate them way to fast lol. The food is so affordable (less than $10 for a full meal), it's a perfect place for lunch. I got this the other night for dinner and had it delivered to my apartment. I have had a few different people talking about this place. They would always mention that it was cheap, but still good, so I thought I would give it a try. Upon getting it, everything was wrapped up nicely and was still hot when we opened it up. Butter Chicken- (4/5): this was the dish I ordered for myself and I'm glad I did. The sauce was very flavorful, which really shined through. The only reason I wouldn't make this a 5/5 is simply for the fact that the chicken was a tad over cooked. Chili Chicken Biriyani-(4/5): this is the dish my boyfriend ordered and let me have some to try. I was actually surprised on the taste throughout (especially if you add a little of the butter Chicken sauce). The only reason this one didn't hit it out of the ballpark was just that there wasn't that much chicken in it. Chapati- (5/5): I honestly never had this before so I was a bit skeptical l, however, was pleasantly surprised it if. I love how thin it was and has also been grilled of some sort. It went extremely well with the dishes we had. Overall, if you're looking for an inexpensive night and are crazing some Indian food, I highly recommend checking them out. No frills restaurant with affordable prices, a huge menu with large variety of options. We ordered Fish plate, Keema paratha, Frontier Chicken, Naan, Egg Paratha for dine-in and Boneless Chicken Biryani to go. Everything we ordered was brought out hot and freshly cooked. The surprising star of the order was the Fish, perfectly cooked and tender with the right amount of spices. Keema was delectable. Frontier Chicken was also very good.
