Ever have a day where you forget to eat and then get stupid hungry? I actually googled "biryani near me". Enter Biryani Pot. We were too far from home to carryout so we decided to dine in. This place seems almost exclusively meant for take out with just a hand full of tables...and thats ok. This little nook was clean and therefore inviting. We ordered chicken dum biryani, mutton dum biryani, some chicken 65, mutton korma, along with naan and lassi. Both biryanis were great! Perfectly cooked, long, aromatic grains of rice, fall apart meat which was seasoned through. Chicken 65 was good. Korma was good. All with Hyderabadi flair. Lassi was ok. We had to ask for boxes as there was more than enough portioned food. The young man at the counter was helpful, attentive, and answered our questions with confidence. We received our food faster than I could check in on Yelp! If it wasn't for the price of 76.01 for two ladies and myself yet service in styrofoam plates and one tired excuse for a plastic teaspoon, I'd say this little gem is a winner. Not really a favorite place that I will frequent. I know some of the people might like it, but the food was not what I had in mind.

Owner is rude Ordered a family pack of biryani that includes an appetizer of chicken 65. Menu clearly states "serves 4." It does not serve 4 people, and def not the chicken 65- had one tiny piece of chicken and rest was all masala. The container wasn't even halfway full of masala. It was embarrassing to even serve. I called up, and explained my concern, asking if we could come to a middle ground for situation to be rectified. He did not want to entertain it at all, started to raise his voice, and interrupted me as I was talking, and contradicted the written menu, saying it doesn't serve 4, "it was given to you for free." Not at all a good place for food. Unhygienic and the person who was serving food for us was eating while serving. Also the food was not tasty. We ordered bagara baigan which had fried brinjal (egg plant). It is fried so deep that even my black hair looks lighter in complexion. Chapathis ordered were hard. Horrible service and food. we were a party of 5 and they scammed us by charging us 18% "gratitude" even though they served us the food in plastic plates and spoons. They claimed it's a law to charge a party of 4 or more. I have had Biryani all over the world. You can say that I am a Biryani Connoisseur. Let me say clearly... no one makes better Chicken Biryani than this place. This place is a perfect example of how Indian restraints fail / lose customers. The first few order in the January of 2018 were spot on. Even the Dine in Experience was wonderful. BUT The past two carry out orders have been pathetic. They used to use premium white (chicken breast meat) in their chicken 65 but They have now switched over to cheaper thigh meat which is full of slimy fat and tendons and down right slimy / disgusting. I called the restaurant to complain and was told that this is not possible and they only use whit meat, when I insisted, I was transferred to the chef who told me that they are trying out a mix of white / dark meat to see how it does (it was all slimy thigh meat), I told him that we will not be eating this, he said to throw it out without any remorse or apology for ruining our dinner. Again I asked him if this change was permanent and he gave me a B.S. answer of "he doesn't know" when i insisted, I was told to call and confirm before ordering. Last night I made a second attempt to order their Chicken 65, that also turned out to be an EPIC DISASTER, the older gentleman who runs the front register and phones has zero communication skills neither in his own native language or English. It took me 10 minutes to explain to him the difference between white and dark chicken meat to no avail, when I asked him again if they were using "BREAST MEAT" in their chicken 65? he kept repeating that yes they were using "FRESH MEAT" and kept insisting that they have never used thigh meat in their chicken 65. I reminded him of my complaint last week and he said that it must have been a different restaurant and I am making a mistake, in the end I gave up and ordered a pickup somewhere else. It is really sad.... these guys had potential, but their greed and desire to save a couple of bucks has lost a customer who would have spent at least a couple of hundred bucks over the next 6 months. P.S. please hire someone with basic communication skills to run your phones / communicate with your customers, you are losing customers because of this. read more

The food is not terrible. The flavors and spice Levels where decent. But I have eaten Indian food all through the states and Europe and I can def tell u that their version of 65 is just not proper and in some ways kind of weird. Their was an entire layer of gooey batter on the bottom on the serving dish. And It contained zero curry leaves. Also this restaurant even though being a "whole in the wall" type place can do with a real good cleaning. DENIED SERVICE. PROBLEM CHEF. I had thoroughly enjoyed my vegetable biryani previously at this restaurant so I made the trek again with a friend. We arrived at 8:40PM The restaurant closes at 10PM. We put through our order to the very friendly employee. He said he would have to check with the chef on my friends order. He thought they might be out of that particular item. We saw another man peek through the window in the door to the kitchen. Presumably this was the chef as this is a very small storefront restaurant. Then, the original employee returned and politely told us that they were out of all of the dishes and that we would not be able to order food at all. This seemed strange as the restaurant would be open for another hour and 20 minutes. There was a family there eating food that looked like it had just been served moments before. Also, as we were in the parking lot looking for another place to eat, we observed several other customers obtaining their food both on a take out and dine in basis. All of the other customers appeared to be of Indian heritage. My friend and I are not. I can only imagine why we were turned away as my friend and I were both dressed appropriately and very polite.
