Just happened to be in the area and decided to try this place since we had never been before. Walked into a delicious aroma, and knew right away we had made the right choice. I chose the Chicken Koobideh which was so juicy, I was shocked! I've had good Koobideh, but never this juicy and tender! Strong flavor, and hint of saffron, a true delight. I also ordered the Ghormeh Sabji - which is a soya (dill) based green stew with meat and beans, and when it first comes to the table, you're thinking this looks and smells like henna paste, but the taste is so beautifully complex - savory, bitter, buttery, and pure deliciousness in every bite!!!!! A must try for something different. Husband ordered the lamb shank, and it was tender and fall off the bone! The meat was soft and unctuous. It was served with this roasted garlic bulb that was roasted to perfection, taking the harshness of the garlic away and replacing it with a soft, buttery, jammy garlicky goodness that is to DIE for!!!! Lastly, my mom got the lamb and beef Koobideh and said it was soft and juicy as well. After food, we had their tea and it is absolute perfection. I take mine sweetened, but even unsweetened my mother found it perfect! Lastly, don't sleep on the DOOGH! That's that fermented yogurt drink that is tart, salty, and super refreshing! I almost didn't even wanna tell yall about it, but I reminded myself that gatekeeping is a cardinal sin! And finally, the ambiance and the service is AMAZING. What a true gem of a find! This is a small place in a small strip mall. The manager and the food are outstanding! My husband ordered a chicken and rice dish, I ordered the vegan dill rice. Very few places serve dill rice, but it delicious and one of my favorite foods. I rarely cook dill rice, because of how time-consuming preparing dill is to separate from the stems. The manager came by to ask how our food was, to which I replied, "Excellent, but this dill rice has no lima beans or fava beans." He informed me that he has had customers that are allergic to lime beans, but is happy to include them if they are requested when ordering. He also said that they will make any menu item modification when requested. They have a menu board as well as QR code menus. Top place for people of any dietary need/choice! read more

Placed order at 4:58 for 5:28 pick up and when I showed up, food was not ready. Place was completely dead and they restarted their iPad and receipt printed and was told oh we just received your order. I waited another 25 min for the food until it was ready at 5:55 pm. I've eaten at 3 Chefs numerous times (carry-out) but this week was the first time I dined in and I had to leave a review of this incredible hidden gem. I came for lunch with two friends, one of whom just moved to Aurora. The lovely young woman at the register is the owner and chef's daughter and she could not be more kind. She helped all of us with menu suggestions and the chef actually just made something off menu for my vegetarian friend who said it was beyond outstanding. I had the chicken shawarma bowl and not only is the portion huge with plenty of chicken but the flavors were exceptional. This is a small restaurant in a newer strip mall on Ogden near the Farnsworth intersection but there were several tables and we did not feel crowded. We had a long lunch and the chef checked on us several times to see how we were but NEVER rushed us. In fact, quite the opposite. We felt encouraged to take our time and enjoy ourselves. The chef even brought us hot tea after we finished our meal (it was wonderful!). The restaurant is very clean and well kept. The restroom especially. The hospitality is unmatched. The food was outstanding and the prices are so reasonable. I highly recommend 3 Chefs, especially if you haven't tried Persian food before. read more

I had the the Soltani. 1 beef, 1 ground beef skewer. It came with rice, purple onions, and grilled tomato. The rice was fine. As well as onions. Didn't try tomato. The ground beef skewer was decent, the regular beef one I thought felt was good. Had a piece of Persian Naan, it was like a crispy Tortilla type. Just some bread to go with my meal, although it was extra and none came with it. My meal was over $25. A bit high, but wasn't isn't right now. I would go back if I was in the mood. Speaking of bread: if you order the Barbari, don't expect something light and fluffy. This isn't pita or naan--it's dense, rustic, and incredibly flavorful. And it's perfect for dipping. Honestly, we walked in with low expectations--our first mistake. It's a counter-order setup, with a large menu overhead and drink coolers to the right. But we love asking for suggestions when trying family-owned places, and the staff immediately welcomed us like regulars. We started with the Eggplant & Spinach Borani and the Smoky Eggplant Dip--and wow. Both were wildly different in flavor, yet equally addictive. The Smoky Eggplant Dip, topped with a fried egg, was unlike anything we've had before. It had a rich complexity--earthy, smoky, sweet, and tangy--that blew us away. It's now our gold standard. For mains, my wife ordered the Joujeh Kabab (she loves chicken), and I had the Beef Shish Kabab (I love beef). The meats were tender, perfectly cooked, and deeply flavorful. You could taste the realness--no chemical shortcuts, just high-quality meat and skillful seasoning. Despite being stuffed, we couldn't resist dessert. Cannot speak to ambiance and service since I really don't eat at the restaurant itself but the food is solid. I am Persian myself and know what good Persian food is. The chicken kabob and ground beef kabob are really good. I would probably give this place a 4.5 overall but since there are no half points, I rounded up. Taste of the meat was good. Put in order for puck up at 13:15. Received text at 12:50 that it's ready for pickup. That means it will be there cooling fir 25 minutes and then it will be another 30 before I get home to eat it. I called to ask if they include and sauces with the entree platter . None I was told. None. I've never come across this at a Persian restaurant. Fine. I pay $4 and $3 for tahini and garlic sauce thinking it will be a fair amount to share. What do I get for 7 plus tax? So glad we stumbled upon this place! We never had Persian food before and absolutely loved it. It's a small restaurant with a few tables, feels more like a takeout place. The portions are huge for the price point. The lady at the counter was nice and friendly. Food came out pretty quick once we ordered. We tried the eggplant and spinach borani - which is creamy yogurt sauce with roasted eggplant and spinach - really liked the smoky flavor of it. We also got both the chicken shawarma bowl and wrap. The grilled chicken in both was delicious, so aromatic and flavorful. The Persian basmati rice in the bowl was a lot and soo flavorful, loved it! This place is SO good. So happy we have a kabab place close to home. Portions are big. Everything is tasty. Had chicken and steak kebabs. Lentil soup was also great. The healthy options are perfect for after a gym workout. We prefer to dine in and they serve everything on real dinnerware, not plastic!! We went to three chefs on the recommendation of a friend. We ordered Joujeh Kabab, Bakhtiari Kabob, grilled vegetables, salad, sauces, and naan. We ordered four different sauces, not sure which one had pomegranate if either because none of them were labeled and it seemed like it was only two different types. Was hoping to know which one had the pomegranate because the friend who recommended this place said it was amazing. We did not get the naan we ordered . The chicken and the steak were amazing! The portions are very large. And you can tell the quality of the food is awesome. The owner was very friendly, and the place was very clean. I was searching for halal spots while visiting someone at nearby Rush Copley Hospital and was surprised to see 3 Chefs pop up, so I went over after the hospital. The parking lot is a bit tricky to get into if you're heading west on Ogden, so I turned left onto Farnsworth and meandered my way over to 3 Chefs. The parking lot and building seem new, so everything's in good shape. The interior of 3 Chefs isn't large, so not ideal for big groups. It's more of a fast casual place. You order and pick up at the counter. The menu had plenty of items to choose from. I got a joujeh (chicken) kabab wrap. Unfortunately it was served in tortilla bread; although I like tortilla, I prefer something unique like shruk bread when having Middle Eastern/Asian food. Anyway, this was a very generous sandwich for $10. It was stuffed with grilled chicken cubes and various veggies. The black olives gave it a unique flavor compared to a Mexican burrito or chicken shawarma sandwich. I wouldn't say it was bursting with flavor, but it was tasty enough and very satisfying. It's rare to come across a restaurant where everything you try is good. This is one of those gems. Ignore the hole-in-the wall aesthetic (aren't hole-in-the-wall establishments some of the best anyway?) and step inside. The people are friendly, the food is exceptional, and the service is fast. You will thank yourself for trying 3 Chefs. The chicken and beef are both tender and delicious. The kofte is moist, tender, and flavorful. The shawarma is excellent and fresh. The flatbreads are soft and tasty (unless grilled). The platters are very large and easily serve two. The flavors are both bold and subtle, with striking starts and developing nuances. I personally have experienced attention to hygiene and have not noticed anything oily or greasy. Not sure where those comments came from, but you can consider them outliers. Take note that most of the four-star reviews still praise the food. Those of you who have a need for Halal take note: this is the only restaurant within 15 minutes of Oswego that will meet your requirements. There are Persian specialties that you can order as well. We love this place soooo much!!!! I'm so happy they opened close to our house. The food is always fresh and so delicious. The ambiance is so nice and definitely kind of a romantic vibe with the roses in the table I love it. Service is quick and Priya is very friendly and sweet. It's nice to have someone great you like her. I would definitely recommend this place if you like kabobs and Persian food. The hot sauce is soooo bussin. It's so nice to have this place close to our house so we don't have to make that extra trip in the city. I've been here this week 3 times already and the week just getting started. So glad to have a great zabiha halal restaurant in the neighborhood. Their chicken and beef koubideh were delicious, and I love their rice - it's cooked and seasoned perfectly. They also have happy hour specials which are nice. I've only done takeout but there is a small seating area if you're looking to dine in. The owner is frequently there and all of the staff including the owner really put a lot of care into the restaurant. Such a gem and glad to have them in the neighborhood! read more

Imagine my shock and surprise when I learned this place was going to open in close proximity to Stately Breakwind Manor. Persian cuisine is one of my absolute favorites, and the menu was online a ways before the doors opened. I was immediately drooling! The wait was worth it. 3 Chefs did not disappoint. Primarily a takeout. (there is an abbreviated in-dining area with small tables, but being honest, it aint a "date-night" destination, if you catch my drift) I ordered Kabab Koobdieh, expertly seasoned ground Beef skewers over Persian Rice with Grilled tomato. On the side, I ordered Tabouleh and Naan Bread. Rushing home, I dug right in! Every bite of this order was delicious. I also added an order of Iranian Baklava for dessert. This too, was fab. A bit different and a little less sweet than the familiar Greek version. I hope this place survives, 'cos this is simply great food. No, it isnt cheap-cheap, but you certainly get what you pay for. It also isn't "fast" food-It's a real meal-not thrown together crap. I plan on eating my way through everything on the menu in the upcoming months. This place has the potential to be really good but unfortunately it's not. I've eaten both in store and through delivery. The in store experience was not great, there were a bunch of teenagers standing around at the counter. We waited for them to acknowledge us so we could order but they just stared. We finally ordered and sat down to wait, only to realize how hot it was in there. The AC was clearly out and we sweated our asses off sitting there, we couldn't wait to leave. We kept thinking if we were sweating so bad just eating, there must be hella sweat in our food from the cooks dealing with the heat of the kitchen plus the lack of AC. A few weeks later I decided to order delivery to my work since I really like Persian food and there's so many good reviews. I ordered a chicken bowl with some sauces and a piece of baklava. The sauce was not in the bag and for $6 you get the tiniest piece of baklava I've ever seen in my life. The baklava wasn't good either. If it was amazing and that tiny I could probably get over it but no. I really should've learned my lesson after that order but alas, I did not. I ordered delivery again only for my stuff to show up completely cold and the dessert melted. Now I know the first two experiences weren't a fluke, this place is just not good. Food was decent, but service was horrible. I saw the girl who was working at the cashier plate the food and she was eating the food at the same time from her hand. She was using glove, but the glove was obviously touching her mouth and tongue and she used that same glove to plate customers food. Maybe my food had her saliva? Who knows. The moment I walked in, no greeting and very cold standoffish energy. I wasn't familiar with the menu so I asked her couple of questions about what comes in the food (because there were no photos) and it seemed like she was annoyed to answer my question and only answered in short sentences as possible like I was bothering her. I guess you have to know what you're ordering beforehand and do research on it prior to coming in or something. I also ordered hot tea and it took really long time to get it, so I asked her if I can get the tea before the food since it was bit cold that day. The girl said we serve the tea after the food?? I was really upset at this point because you usually get the drink first. I asked her if I can get the drink now and told her I didn't want to drink it after the meal. The previous reviews for this place looked very promising, however, our food was a total letdown. We ordered a chicken and beef combo platter with rice. The rice tasted half-cooked and was very oily. There were only a few chunks of beef and chicken and half a tomato. The meat was extremely bland and dry. A sauce would have improved the dish but we did not have any. Set up a reservation on a Saturday at 5pm. Got there and found the menu confusing. The family platter wasn't on the menu as it was on the website. We ordered the chicken kabobs, lamb shanks, naan, some type of seasoned yoghurt, falafel and a couple side sauces since the falafel didn't come with any (?). The food was called out item by item and delivered in to go containers, but it took 20 minutes for the chicken, 25 MORE minutes for the lamb, and then I had to chase down the rest of the order. After an hour we finally left with the food mostly cold and in a mix of plastic containers and paper lunch bags. The owner was apologetic as we left. When we got home with the food it was cold, but we were surprised at the good flavor and moisture of the meats and the generosity of the rice portions. The ambiance was as reviewed by others, about 5 tables, clean but cramped, and not really a place to go on a date. Really disappointing overall, especially since they obviously know how to make good food. All in all a poor experience for about $70. Don't bother with a reservation as it was still first come first poorly served. read more

My first experience to 3 chefs was interesting. The initial impression wasn't very good as there was a visibly upset customer inside which can always be a bit worrisome but I tried to keep an open mind. however to add to the not great first impression, the service was average to negative. The wait for our food seemed a bit long for what we ordered as well. Based on other high reviews I would try them again and get a plate instead of a wrap. I was a little disappointed how a la carte the menu was and all side sauces have to be purchased so it can get up there in price as opposed to some similar places that have sauces out available for customers to try. As far as the food goes, here is the good, the okay and the disappointing. Good- The garlic sauce was delicious! I wish there was more of it on the wrap. The chicken in the wrap was good as well. Okay- The hummus had a good flavor but it was runny-haven't had hummus quite that texture before but it was still tasty. The rice didn't have much flavor to me but I still enjoyed it and it went well with the meal. I would possibly order the hummus and rice again based on this experience. Disappointing- the bread that came with the hummus was chewy and a bit on the hard side. We ate a few pieces and threw the rest out. I didn't like that the wrap included olives, pickles and mushrooms- for one thing, they weren't listed on the online menu as toppings and mushrooms and olives are two of my least favorite foods so it was not a welcome find, but I would know now to ask for the wrap without them. I would give them another try and hopefully they would be better on another day, as a new restaurant in the area is always a welcome sight. read more
