    Salad with braised lamb
    Jack S.

Overall I love cava. I got a salad with lamb, tzatziki, and pretty much all the veggies. Lamb was incredible, along with the tzatziki! The veggies were a bit skimpy compared to other locations I have gone to where they load it up so that is why I'm dropping to a four star

I'm a big fan of CAVA. For me it's a much fresher and healthier version of Chipotle. Choose pita or a bowl, with a variety of bases (veggies and rice), GREAT meat options (try the new harissa honey chicken!) and a bunch of clean, whole toppings, like roasted corn, and more. Right now, they have a cute promotion where you get a free "pita" plushie when you purchase a bowl and pita chips. Glad to see a CAVA location in the western suburbs!

I liked that this place had a very easy to use website. I also liked that I could customize my bowl, a Greek "Subway." They had a bunch of house drinks that looked good. I tried the Strawberry one. My food was ready on time. The inside looked clean. I will definitely order here again.

Been waiting for Cava to open near me. My daughter is a huge fan so we'd always try when traveling. Just opened a month or so ago, steady stream of people lining up for the chipotle style Mediterranean food. Clean restaurant with indoor booths and outdoor seating. I built my own bowl with a black lentil and salad base. Choice of rice or handheld as well and comes with a pita triangle. Numerous options of spreads, pick three, meats, and endless toppings. This will be a regular rotation for us.

i don't eat fast food too often and honestly i've been so spoiled from the food in the city that nothing really tastes good in the burbs anyways. the only fast food place i normally enjoy is chipotle but they have gone completely downhill and are always inconsistent with quality. to preface this i was so excited when cava became a thing downtown- i never got a chance to try it when i was living closer to the city and ended up moving back home to the burbs so when this location popped up a couple months ago i was super excited. i've been here 3-4 times since they've opened. last week i ordered from them 3 different times lol first of all you get what you pay for- my bowl is always loaded and everything tastes super fresh and of quality. CHIPOTLE COULD NEVER. i love a steak bowl with all the toppings + tzakiki sauce, harissa, and garlic sauce. i usually don't end up eating the entire thing and half plenty of leftovers the next day which is a win win. now on another note THE PITA CHIPS ARE UNREAL. i tried them for the first time last week and had to get two orders the next time i went lol. they're amazing i get the sour cream and onion ones. i've also tried the chocolate chip cookie which was okay but wouldn't try again. other than that i actually love this location- i haven't been to the other ones but i always think this location is super clean, everyone is extremely friendly and accommodating, and my order is never poorly made or skimped out on even when i order pick up through the app. (yes we're side eyeing you chipotle) they should just bulldoze the chipotle next door idk how anyone still goes there- whenever i see people in there i question if just not enough people know what cava is so they just don't even know a gold mine is sitting literally right next door. i love you cava never change

This is a nice, small Middle Eastern market compared to Souq Fresh Market in Lombard. Souq is very big. This market has a lot of unique Middle Eastern snacks that I've never seen before along with a kitchen that you can order lunch and dinner from. Lunch is served 10 am - 2 pm. I believe dinner is served from 2 pm to 9 pm. Don't quote me on the end dinner times. They have 3 tables that you can eat at. I came after 10:20 am and I ordered the chicken kufta lunch special, two different kinds of samosa, and kebabs. Prices were cheap, I got all of this for $25. They also have an area where you can get some fresh meat and deli items. Staff was friendly. Overall 4 out of 5. If they fixed the kebabs, it would easily be a 5. -chicken kufta lunch special 5 - he made this fresh. You get one pita bread with it. Meat was soft and tender. The rice and salad were very tasty. Huge portion. -samosas 5 - I got one beef and one potato. They were both delicious. -kebabs 3.5 - he gave me two big kebabs but they did not taste freshly made. I'm no stranger to kebabs and I usually like my kebabs to be tender and juicy. These were semi tough and kind of dry inside. I can see the spices in them but they would taste even better new.

Taste of Jerusalem is the kind of place that reminds you why you should never judge a restaurant by its zip code or its signage. Tucked into a perfectly forgettable strip mall in Plainfield, this little spot is quietly serving some of the best food in the area and I am genuinely annoyed it took me this long to find it. The chicken kabob plate was a revelation. Massive portions of beautifully marinated chicken laid over a split of white rice and spicy rice. That spicy rice deserves its own paragraph. Fragrant, deeply spiced, with a slow building heat that lingers just long enough to keep pulling you back for another bite. Addicting is the only word for it. The hummus was exactly what hummus should be, fresh, delicious, also addictive. I added falafel and pita and those falafel were genuinely among the best I have ever had. Perfectly cooked, not a trace of that greasy heaviness that ruins lesser versions. Just fragrant, spiced, crispy little bites that I genuinely savored. My partner got the chicken wrap and said every component worked together without competing, tasted fresh, and left him full without feeling heavy. High praise from a man who knows his way around a wrap. The space is clean and simple. You order from a kiosk. None of that matters because the husband and wife team running the grill are pouring obvious passion into every plate and it comes through in every single bite. Plainfield has a gem here. Treat it accordingly.

The most gracious and humble hosts - paying attention to every detail and stopping at nothing to bring whatever the customer wants to fruition. We don't realize that the place closes at 8:00 pm, and just kept chomping and socializing - they never once pointed it out to us. I begin with them because they were the friendliest folks, and their service was truly remarkable. Then comes the food - my goodness, the food. Let's begin with the Harira. Perfectly seasoned, but for me, it requires a little more salt (which is personal preference) and a pop of acid like lemon to bring out its true flavor. Overall, a really comforting, rich soup without being heavy or cloying. Then came the Moroccan seasoned potatoes - oooooweeee! These were little nuggets of pure deliciousness. Seasoned to perfection, crispy on the outside, soft and pillowy on the inside and every bite kept you wanting to go back for more. Then the lamb shank tagine - ummmm, excuse me?!?! What do you mean the meat is like butter? It literally falls off the bone and dissolves in your mouth. Rich, fatty, unctuous and truly a delight. The bed of couscous it came with was also great - made better by the sauce from the lamb shank. The highlight of this plate were the roasted prunes that are part of the sauce. Sweet, jammy prunes cooked into the sauce made them just truly a delightful mouthfeel in comparison to the couscous and the scrumptious meat. To top it all off, the cherry on top, is their comforting Moroccan mint tea. So very fresh and the perfect end to an absolutely DELIGHTFUL meal. Highly recommended!!!

It's tiny inside and feels well worn (in a good way), but there are a few tables outside. We went at an off time (or so we thought), but eventually all four tables and all bar seating were taken up. The gentleman serving us seemed to be the only one there, but he was friendly. We ordered a taktouka sampler, mixed grill platter, and lamb shank tagine. If you go to a Moroccan restaurant, you've got to get tagine. It took a little while for the food to come out, but overall it was excellent. The taktouka sampler was full of veggies. It was tasty, but I wish the carrots were cooked more to soften them. The mixed grill platter had chicken and beef kabobs, as well as something like a kefta (ground meat) kabob. The meats and rice were good, although the beef and chicken could have been more tender and juicy. The white sauce was a nice accompaniment. The lamb shank was excellent; nice tender meat, tasty rice, and delicious supplemental flavors from the figs and apricots. Overall, a very nice lunch.

The portion was generous, the lamb was high quality, and the artichoke pesto paired really well with the rich, gamey flavor. The roasted pearl onions were a great addition too. Unfortunately when I went on a Friday afternoon the dining area was closed. Looked like they were filming and taking pictures. They were in the kitchen too. Anyway, I placed an order to go and less than 10 minutes later I was out the door. Ordered the BAM cheeseburger and small fries. A little pricey but then everything is. The mixture of beef and lamb is luxurious. Great blend and let's hear it for a good old fashioned char burger! The spices and sauce are subtle yet distinctive and unique. Wonderful flavors throughout. The fries are the larger/thick cut that I usually don't enjoy, but these were fried perfectly and had a great texture. Now I'm going to be nit picky on the build of the burger. And this is obviously personal preference. The burger patty is a generous size. However, the cheese was so melted and thin, I barely noticed. The onion was a raw white onion and also a generous cut. I would prefer a red onion or grill them. As it was, the onion kind of dominated the flavor. The tomato, pickles, and lettuce were all good, which added up to a tall build. Finally, a brioche bun. I know, the world loves a brioche bun. On a burger, I don't want the extra sweetness of brioche. Give me a good old potato bun or sesame seed bun instead. Nothing bad about any of the above. Great service, fast and friendly. I look forward to the dining room open and trying a gyro plate! I'll be back for sure.
