I use to love their chili, but nowadays it's more like creamed soup! No chunks of meat to be found & they no longer serve it with shredded cheddar ( big mistake!). And the last several times we've been their that were out of carrot cake (my husband's favorite). They said they usually run out before noon! Someone should enlighten the one ordering it for their establishment that their supply isn't meeting demand. Not to mention how the employees talk about the customers to each other! Hello? Everyone can hear how disrespectful you are being! A woman came in asking if any of their soups were dairy free & the employee said I'm not sure? Wasn't there any way of checking? They lost a customer that day & they all thought the customer was in the wrong for asking!!!! read more

A great place to visit. I wish they were closer, I'd go there more often. They're almost a half hour away from me, so that's a long trip over an hour both ways. I especially enjoy their McAllister Club. Reasonable prices and helpful friendly staff. It's always very clean. I also enjoy their lemonade and like when they have special flavors of lemonade. I also like their chicken tortilla soup. Their French dip was very good also. I always have leftovers since I can't eat that much. I also enjoy their potato salad. When someone asked me what I would like for a special occasion as a gift, I usually mention gift card from here. I also like to get special offers in the app. read more

I've now expereinced the consistent bad service and impolite employees that everyone's been talking about for 2 years. I have gone in and also ordered ahead and EVERY time they get my order wrong. And it's always charging me for something they leave out. The lack of professional management for a business like this is hard to believe. There is never a manager on site, and every promise that one will call you is a lie. Just like others have reported exactly - they have a standard response "nah it was in there" and "there is nothing I can do for you ma'am." The staff is very disorganized, knows nothing of customer courtesy, and are always confused. Not a hint of experienced oversight. Decide for yourselves how many times you'll put up with this, but I'm advising everyone I know to avoid both Naperville locations. read more

Terrible service, I understand that coming in 40 min before close can be frustrating, trust me, I've worked in the food industry before so I understand, but do not give anybody attitude. Tells us "Are you ordering" with attitude. It's not my fault you chose to work this job and it's not my fault they close later than you wish. Also, Lady in the back of house was giving nasty stares, like grow up, you put yourself in this job so suck it up. Cashier told me "I can't give you change" because I knew she just didn't want to deal with counting, soo lazy!! I would not recommend this store to anyone!! read more

The food is always good & the vibe is always right. Friendly, prompt, consistent. This specific location deserves a shout out for going the extra mile. All the staff here is always pleasant and approachable, but the gentleman who assists guests and cleans tables is phenomenal. He remembers faces, is very friendly but doesnt over do it, and goes above and beyond with his services. You can tell he enjoys his job and is happy to be helpful. We need more people like him in the workforce. As always, a great experience. read more

I really like McAlister's Deli. Their sandwiches remind me of those back home in NJ. I really like the pastrami, and the chicken salad sandwich. The lemonade there is great! read more

Restaurant was immaculate, and staff were very nice and friendly. Service was quick. I had a "choose 2", which allowed me to try two different items. I love when restaurants give this option. I had the Southwest Chicken Avocado salad, and the Black Angus Roast Beef spud. The salad was fresh and delicious. The spud (which is a half spud) was huge! It was a full-size baked potato...if this is a half, I can't imagine what a full size looks like. It was hot and delicious. Lots of thin shaved beef and a generous portion of gooey melty cheese. Not enough onions in my opinion. My husband also had a Choose 2. He got the chicken club, and a limited edition spud called the Smokehouse spud. It had pulled pork, bacon, green onion, Mac and cheese, and BBQ sauce. It looked and tasted amazing. Again, huge portion! Highly recommend! read more

Best salad for price I ever had. Fresh , crisp and very generous portion!!! I wish I had a photo!

Poor management at the 95th st store. I ate a BLT-A That arrived with cold soggy toast and wilted lettuce. The staff was very disorganized and confused. So I opted to eat and go. I got sick later that day. Probably the bacon I called the next day after being sick all night. There was no manager on duty to take my call and no competent staff member to address my concern. You cannot run a successful business without experienced oversight. I love their iced tea but won't be eating here again or advising any friends to eat here either. read more

I used the mobile app to order so it was ready when I got there (I was on lunch break) and it was ready when I arrived. I did sit down to eat and my food was still warm and so good! I chose the pick two (club wrap and chicken tortilla soup) and the sweet tea(a must). I was here at 3pm it was very quiet and clean which was relaxing. Also happy I didn't spend a fortune on this meal. read more

1st time customer today. Club wrap was ok, but spicy creole sandwich was awful. Tortilla soup was very average. All in all...1st time is last time. read more

Love their food! They've got lots of good options, no matter what you're in the mood for! My only complaint is that it's a little pricey but it seems like every sandwich place is pretty pricey nowadays so might as well get a really good sandwich from McAlister's! Pro tip: any sandwich can be substituted for a croissant as the bread! read more

I came here with my Bible study group one time (had never been here before) and when I tried the McAlister's Club for the first time, I was hooked! And ever since, I come up here at least once a week (sometimes twice in a week!) for my usual "Choose 2" order which is the McAlister's Club and Chicken Tortilla soup or when I don't want soup I go for the Chipotle Chicken & Bacon spud. I've tried their Savannah Chopped Salad and it was delicious! I don't eat salad often, but when I do have a taste for one, that'll definitely be my go to again. The food here isn't the problem.....my food is always fresh and they keep the establishment clean. My problem is with their service. It's like every time I come here, it's hit or miss. And most times it's just the little things. I always order through the mobile app and then drive around to the pick up window. Most times I don't wait too long, but more times than not, there is a small wait.....and then when someone does come to the window, they always seem to be in a hurry. When I have a chicken tortilla soup in my order, it's a 50/50 chance that they forget to give me the tortilla chips that go with it. Fun fact: the very first time I ordered that soup, I didn't get any tortilla chips with it......I didn't know it was supposed to come with it until I ordered it again and this time they gave it to me. Also, I always get their half sweet tea and half sweet lemonade WITH a lemon wedge......there's about a 75% chance that I don't get that lemon wedge every time I order it AND last but not least, there's a 50/50 chance I don't get the pickle that's supposed to come with my sandwich. I guess I should make it a habit to check my food before I leave but how hard is it to just make sure you pack it right the first time? I remember a while ago, they came out with a new sandwich called the Chicken Ranch BLT....my husband and I were excited to try it so I ordered my husband the sandwich and I got mine as a spud w/ a club sandwich and drove up there to pick it up. This was on a Saturday morning around 11:30a or so......when I got up there to the pick up window, the lady tells me that they're out of chicken and that if I didn't want to substitute the chicken for turkey, I'd have to get something else (I was still able to get my club sandwich but I couldn't get my spud and my husband couldn't get the sandwich) Say what now??? How are you out of chicken and you've only been open an hour?? So I tell her that I didn't want turkey and that I'd just get something else, but in my head I'm thinking I prepaid a certain price for those items so whatever I get should be comparable to what I was charged. Then she says that there's enough chicken for the chicken BLT, but not the spud. So I just got the chicken tortilla soup and my husband got his sandwich....which was fine. As long as one of us got to try it. The lady did give me a free bag of chips for the trouble....I appreciate the effort...Lol. Obviously, these little short comings here and there haven't kept me from buying their food, but for the reasons I just explained, I had to take away one star. read more

Horrible service. Horrible employees. I have gone there so many times and they get my order wrong. I'm so tired of this. I Pay good money to get what I want. And it seems like 50 percent of the time they get it wrong. It's Horrible. They only say "there is nothing I can do for you ma'am." Nah. You hire employees who can't read the difference between Chipotle ranch and ranch.... yes that is a very disturbing difference. You need to fire these employees right now. Or find a better management team. I am about done. I go here three times a week. And I'm seriously about done with naperville. What the hell is happening there? If I could give a negative 5 I would. I've given this place multiple opportunities. Every single thing needs improvement. The girl who was working tonight needs to be fired. Extremely rude. When she got my order wrong... nah. Not okay. read more

Disappointing... again! I really expected more from this restaurant ! Every time I have gone there, they have discontinued an item I wanted to try. The chili I wanted to try was pure sludge, the kind you only put on top of hot dogs, some of the sandwiches were bland or horrible. The carrot cake has either been dry or the tag recommended it be discarded at a certain day yet I received the cake a day or two later of the discharge date! I did not notice this until home! Pickles soggy, etc, etc. Needless to say, seriously doubt I will go back unless things change, even with the discounts I receive in the mail! read more

Food is fresh and delicious (salads, sandwiches and baked potato). Potatoes are huge and a meal on their own. Salads are always fresh and crispy with many options for toppings (i lean towards the cranberry, chicken and gargonzola). Service is always with a smile, I've never had a bad experience at any of the locations of visited(Indiana, Naperville and Oswego). Did I mention the tea... hands down the best tasting. Get it half sweet and half unsweet with lemon. If you like it sweet get a flavor added. read more

Nice cafe. Always wanted to go in here but never had an excuse ..... till today. Nicely laid out, plenty of food choices. Some very interesting offerings but they strike me as very similar to Panera. Fresh food, small size portions, good quality, but high prices. Couple of things separate them from Panera. Yes they are a chain but only have a few cafes, they have much better service, no one had an attitude. Different menu offerings in comparison to Panera. And .... their prices are lower. Not by a ton but somewhat. And they have free refills on beverages. To my knowledge, Panera stopped doing that a while ago. McAllisters does that! Stopped in here around lunch, parking tight, cafe crowded but not outrageously. Had the pick two. Roasted mushroom soup and the horseradish roast beef and cheddar. Gotta say . Excellent taste and quality... just wish there was more of it. Their lemonade is fabulous, and they use pure cane sugar. A very nice touch. Something they need to do is: stop serving meals on such large plates. It makes the portion size look even smaller . Bad move. Get smaller plates. But, Meal was enjoyable, service good, and will stop again. read more

I got a choose 2 the grilled chicken caesar salad was terrible all around & the chicken tasted disgusting. I ordered the veggie spud as well which wasn't to bad after I got home to jazz it up with seasoning & more Rotel cheese. I will stick to Panera as McAlister's use to be good but not anymore. This was the first time we did a pick up order. My mistake because I have had to go back up to the counter EVERY TIME I've eaten there. I should have known better. Fast forward, we are home. I'll keep this short.... Our two different kinds of soup was water zero flavor. Veggie baked potato, was a flipping joke! ZERO cheese sauce, a PINCH of veggies, one had add jalapeños and oh they were on there alright, so much it was ridiculous.Had we lived closer we would have returned it, instead we threw it out, it was that NOT GOOD! I truly loved this place and I never complained when I had to have them fix my order, the quality was still there and It was always lunch time and extremely busy. They were busy yesterday evening but nothing crazy and the quality of our food was the worse I've experienced at any of my go to places. I will never go back and that's a little sad for me read more

Good food at a not outrageous price. My wife really likes this place. It was my first time here, not bad.

Such delicious food and great service! i usually get the choose 2 option with the pecanberry salad and the grilled chicken club sandwich on a croissant. kinda weird how there's no trash cans but it's okay. it's such a positive place. shout out to the cheery man who is always checking in on customers and asking if everything's okay. he's so sweet!! read more

McAlister's Proved I'm Stupid. I am stupid. We regularly pickup Reuben's from McAlister's Deli, get them home, and find that they have so little 1000 Island dressing, it can't be tasted. I always thought it was an aberration--that I was just unlucky THIS time. Turns out, I was just stupid. Today, I ordered three Reuben's, two salads, and two desserts, online, for pickup, totaling greater than $45. At pickup, I asked for an extra little container of 1000 Island dressing. The manager said that the dressing containers were in the salads boxes, and there was an additional charge for more. I told her it was not for the salads but for the Reubens. She was incredulous. So, I grabbed one of the three Reubens I'd ordered, opened it, and showed her that the dressing was negligible -- barely visible. I stupidly believed that, when faced with the visible truth -- virtually no dressing on the Reuben -- she'd relent. I stupidly believed that, my having spent nearly $50 on a meal, the restaurant would throw in a little, 50 cent (retail) container of extra dressing. To prove how stupid I was , the manager still said, "There's an up-charge for extra dressing." Then I got home and noticed, for the first time, the extra "convenience fee" added to the online order. Stupid me for not noticing that earlier! Then I wised up. I can get a comparable Reuben, with plenty of 1000 Island dressing, and with better bread, and without the service fee, just down the street, at Schlotzky's. For that matter, if I order from Jason's Deli, I avoid McAlister's service fee, and the savings pays for the gas to drive to the north side of town. Goodbye McAlister's. read more

We enjoy McAlister's Deli, but not going back to this one. Asked for no honey mustard on my sandwich about 30 seconds after I ordered, got grief from the cashier. The cook even peered out to show his displeasure. Asked for Mayo on the side, the Manager said they would have to charge me (though it comes on the sandwich). Got home and my sandwich was drowned in honey mustard. Had to throw the sandwich away. Bummer. read more

Slow, and rang up what should've been a bowl of soup as a cup. Server argued it and when we offered to pay to upgrade it to a bowl, ended up paying for two cups instead (like $11 instead of $6). Very slow and staff overworked. This place has gone way downhill. read more

McAlister's Deli. I've driven past many a times but this time I was hungry, maybe close to getting hangry and a deli sounded good. I was thankful that as close to hangry as I was McAlister's deli was closer. A turkey club with a pickle and chips saved the day! Fast and convenient and a solid lunch was what I chowed down in my car. The portion size was not too much and not too little. The menu was not overwhelming but enough of a variety to satisfy a picky eater which I have been known to be but I was satisfied with the options from the large menu board that hung from behind the counter. Next time I feel a hangry coming on I will not hesitate to make another appearance at McAlister's deli. read more

I used to go all the time, but they either switched managers or owners or something because "their" quality control and caring about what they put out has gone way down. I ordered online which offers DELIVERY, PICK-UP, or eating in...I chose pick up. I simply ordered a nice warm bowl of potato soup with some crackers, a blondie, and a blackberry lemonade. My daughter brings me the bag I open it up and they gave me a QUART OF POTATO SALAD! WTF?!? So I look at my receipt it just says Qt Potato. So I of course call, Purvi asks someone and I hear the woman in the background say "I gave her what she ordered, she ordered potato salad!" Purvi comes back to the phone proceeds to tell me I'm wrong and I got exactly what i ordered. I responded with "you're a liar and so is that woman I've got my emailed receipt from the order and it very plainly says POTATO SOUP!" Purvi says oh well please wait let me check...sure enough after being lied to by them twice Purvi mysteriously finds the online order and wants me to keep the potato salad and she'd gladly replace it for the soup. I said yes but you can deliver it to me! She proceeded to say we can't do that-I responded your website says you deliver. She offered a refund or for me to drive 10 miles to go pick it up. In other words McCallisters pay freaking attention and in the future don't tell customers they're lying! I WOULD STAY FAR FAR FAR AWAY FROM THIS STORE- RUDE! DISRESPECTFUL!
