    Chicken Kabob Bowl

Happy Falafel never misses. I got the chicken kabob bowl and it was amazing! The chicken was super flavorful and tender, the rice was perfect, and that white sauce on top just makes it all hit even harder. The little salad on the side adds a nice fresh crunch too. Definitely recommend!!

Check out Pharrell's favorite place to get falafel and Middle Eastern food. Happy Falafel puts a smile upon my face upon biting into some of the crispy stuff. It has plenty of choices for vegetarians. Fairly good prices on most of the items. They also have combos where you can save even more. I came to get carryout. It has falafel of course along with other classic Middle Eastern favorites. The first time here I had to get the namesake. Get falafel a few ways and none are bad. These come in pitas or on salads. It's $6 for a pretty decent pita. This comes with hummus and Jerusalem salad. Falafel was crispy without being burnt. The hummus was creamy and the Jerusalem salad had good seasoning and added a lot. Along with falafel are some other things worth giving a shot such as hummus. It comes on the pita so it's good with something or even on it's own. There's also common Middle Eastern favorites such as shawarma.

Shawarma rotisserie may be raw early in the day, but don't you worry, it goes on the grill before you receive.

Delicious and fast middle eastern food that make your belly feel like you made a really healthy choice! The place is clean and the portions are fairly large (i.e., if you're really hungry this will fill you up; if you're looking for a light lunch, you'll have left overs). We've ordered three times and outside of one error in my order (which was still delicious), I'm putting Happy Falafel on regular rotation. *NOTE: I agree with Yelper, @Rachel Z., that once the stay-at-home order hit, this site had myriad problems. My wife and I stopped by a few times hoping they'd be open or at least provide information about online/phone ordering only to be left with more questions. At one point we gave up thinking the restaurant had gone under, but then people started talking and posting again and we finally had a chance to visit. During this initial reopening the staff refused to wear masks, but as of my last visit in October 2020, we were happy to see they'd signed on to the requirement.

Food is always good here (authentic) and the staff are friendly. I don't think they have air conditioning tho but who cares! The food is really good!

A must try!!! I've been searching for good chicken shawarma ever since I moved outta Cali. I finally found it. The chicken and rice are flavorful and not dry This time I also ordered the chili red sauce and hummus both and both are delicious. Every time Ingo the customer service is 5 star. They offer suggestions and will answer all questions. I did ask for sauce on the side and they put it on top anyway. I still give the

Taste of Jerusalem is the kind of place that reminds you why you should never judge a restaurant by its zip code or its signage. Tucked into a perfectly forgettable strip mall in Plainfield, this little spot is quietly serving some of the best food in the area and I am genuinely annoyed it took me this long to find it. The chicken kabob plate was a revelation. Massive portions of beautifully marinated chicken laid over a split of white rice and spicy rice. That spicy rice deserves its own paragraph. Fragrant, deeply spiced, with a slow building heat that lingers just long enough to keep pulling you back for another bite. Addicting is the only word for it. The hummus was exactly what hummus should be, fresh, delicious, also addictive. I added falafel and pita and those falafel were genuinely among the best I have ever had. Perfectly cooked, not a trace of that greasy heaviness that ruins lesser versions. Just fragrant, spiced, crispy little bites that I genuinely savored. My partner got the chicken wrap and said every component worked together without competing, tasted fresh, and left him full without feeling heavy. High praise from a man who knows his way around a wrap. The space is clean and simple. You order from a kiosk. None of that matters because the husband and wife team running the grill are pouring obvious passion into every plate and it comes through in every single bite. Plainfield has a gem here. Treat it accordingly.

This is a nice, small Middle Eastern market compared to Souq Fresh Market in Lombard. Souq is very big. This market has a lot of unique Middle Eastern snacks that I've never seen before along with a kitchen that you can order lunch and dinner from. Lunch is served 10 am - 2 pm. I believe dinner is served from 2 pm to 9 pm. Don't quote me on the end dinner times. They have 3 tables that you can eat at. I came after 10:20 am and I ordered the chicken kufta lunch special, two different kinds of samosa, and kebabs. Prices were cheap, I got all of this for $25. They also have an area where you can get some fresh meat and deli items. Staff was friendly. Overall 4 out of 5. If they fixed the kebabs, it would easily be a 5. -chicken kufta lunch special 5 - he made this fresh. You get one pita bread with it. Meat was soft and tender. The rice and salad were very tasty. Huge portion. -samosas 5 - I got one beef and one potato. They were both delicious. -kebabs 3.5 - he gave me two big kebabs but they did not taste freshly made. I'm no stranger to kebabs and I usually like my kebabs to be tender and juicy. These were semi tough and kind of dry inside. I can see the spices in them but they would taste even better new.

Upon my first visit on a Thursday for lunch, the waitress Nur provided excellent service to our table. She was patient, pleasant, and provided answers to our many questions. Just loved her service with a smile and uplifting energy. My friends and I ate hard and everyone enjoyed their food. I tried the lentil soup which was wonderful and I had the mushroom guvec with rice on the side that was delicious. We were served tea as an after dinner refresher which was nice. We noticed the bakery on the way out and they had so many treats ready to be ordered and taken home. The second visit was terrible. I came for lunch on a Tuesday and it wasn't busy. The lahmacon is offered as a lunch special and I asked if I could have the cheesemacon for the special. It's the same version with just cheese and no meat. My waiter Jamal straight told me no. I found that very odd so I inquired further because they are the same price on the menu and it's without meat. The answer still didn't change. I simply had a few more questions about other menu items and Jamal seemed agitated by then. He was not even trying to be nice. I ordered two entrees. I paid full price for the cheesemacon and had a pide with kashkaval cheese. Jamal brought my food and NEVER came back to my table. I watched him provide service to all the other tables during that time. I was fine and didn't need anything, but I didn't deserve to be treated that way for being pleasantly inquisitive. I really felt bothered by this because out of all my years of eating out, I never felt that a server treat me poorly personally for being myself. I've had bad service before just because the service is bad overall and that is different. I like the food so I reluctantly returned for a third time and had breakfast. Service was standard and the food was good. My mushroom omelette was fine. The traditional french toast was solid. This review should be one star but it is four without Jamal.

The plates that my husband and I got were the chicken shawarma sandwich with a salad and the filet plate that comes with rice as well as grilled tomato and grilled onion. They give you generous portions which made it possible for me to share some of my meal with someone in my group to try and I still had leftovers. Finally, we could not leave without having dessert. This is about a 4.5-5. -arayes with meat 4 - this was not bad. It's like a tamer version of the meat toshka. -meat toshka 5 - I prefer this over the arayes because they add the Syrian cheese. It goes well with the pita bread. The meats were cooked medium well unless you want something. I think next time I'll ask for the shish kababs to be cooked medium rare or medium for a more juicy taste. The chicken tawook and kufta were both succulent. -fillet of basa fried 5 - the two pieces of basa fillet were astronomical. It also comes with two different kinds of rice.
