Have not been to Rezas in years and carried out one night after hearing they opened under new management. The lamb, beef and chicken kebabs were very good tender and juicy. Dill rice was good as i remember from years ago, not greasy but flavorful. Pita was not the typical thick, dry pita i am accustomed to getting at mediterranean restaurants but was surprisingly light and soft. Food is reasonably priced and was ready for pick up as i was promised. My family and i enjoyed the food so much we ordered again tonight and got the fessenjan in addition to kebabs and that was very flavorful with tender chicken. I realize they are still working out logistics as they opened just a month and a half but i was not able to access their website and had to view menus off yelp and other sites. Hopefully they will get this working soon so others can enjoy their food. The lady working the front was apologetic about the website not working. She was very nice as was the other man who was helping to get my order ready. My family and i enjoyed the food again and will definitely order again and will try and dine in next time. I came here for mothers day with a bigger group. i was expecting the old Rezas, but it was very different. when we first got to the table there was a spill on the table cloth which they fixed right away after we pointed it out. the service was very slow and confusing, but we were one of two tables. it took a while for us to get water as well as utensils and plates and silverware. we had to ask multiple times for them to remember to refill the water pitcher. the food came very slow and disordered. we got our beef entrée before the soup which came after we already finished half our plate. the lentil soup, which was my favorite, changed recipes. which was the saddest part for me. i really enjoyed the beef skewer. the server was understanding and apologetic about the whole situation with the service. the price was not that bad considering how much food was eaten. I really love this restaurant and the food. i plan to return, hopefully they're more detail oriented next time i come here. read more

Took my friend here--her first time. I had fessenjan. I love this dish. My friend loved her dish, too. The server was delightful and made sure we were enjoying our lunch. We hadn't gone to Reza's for years. In fact, the last time was in 2016 and my review was not great. After hearing that they were under new ownership, we decided to give it a second chance. It's now rebranded as New Reza. We went for a late lunch and it was empty. The interior is spacious and prepped for fine dining, although the abstract artwork is kind of boring. We ordered a kashkeh bodemjan (eggplant dip) as an appetizer, and the Reza's kebab combo 2 as our main dish. The eggplant dip was excellent, different from the roasted eggplant dip we had a 3 Chefs. It had a bit of tartness to it, some crunch from the fried onions, and some nuttiness from the walnuts. For the main dish, we requested dill rice for the starch and chicken barley as our soup choice. The rice was fragrant, and this dish included three types of kabobs -- beef shish kabob, lamb shish kabob, and filet mignon. There was plenty of meat for the two of us (in fact, we had leftovers), and the meats were tasty and grilled nicely. This dish also included three types of sauce, all of which were good -- tahini sauce, hot sauce, and some sort of buttermilk or yogurt dip that was delicious. The tomato-based chicken soup was pretty good, although sparse on the chicken. Overall, an excellent meal and fairly priced considering the quality and the ambiance. This was one of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had. First, the employee did not let us put food on the table before Iftar so we could be ready to break our fast. She also would not let us get drinks. It felt very rude and not understanding. The tables were very close together. It was so cramped that I could barely get out of my seat. It was uncomfortable. We could also hear the chefs arguing in the back, which made everything worse. They charged an 18% service fee even though it's a buffet and we did everything ourselves. We got our own food and drinks for six people. The total was about $310, which is very expensive for this kind of service. The staff was not nice, and the whole experience felt stressful and unorganized. I would not recommend this restaurant. read more

I ordered carry out from this resturant under new management. I think it's important make clear the standard of previous reza kabobs is not there now. There are much larger portions, items appear fresh but the taste is just not the same. I appreciate that it is more affordable I got a kebob combo platter with beef and lamb kubodeih and chicken breast kabobs along with the barley soup and salad. The kabobs are just not spiced the same as I remember them. They also were cooked very lightly. There was a grilled tomato in the food but no onion. The dill rice was very fluffy and nice but again it lacked any salt. We were pleasantly surprised by how much better the food was than we expected. Although some negative reviews initially gave us pause, our instincts led us to try Reza's--and we're so glad we did. We ordered the hummus dip, chicken & ground beef kebab, and filet mignon & chicken kebab. The hummus was outstanding--rich with the aroma of olive oil and served with warm pita. It was the first time we found ourselves finishing the entire hummus dish. The kebabs were flavorful, well-seasoned, and perfectly cooked--juicy, tender, and satisfying. The rice, cooked with dill, was moist yet fluffy, a thoughtful accompaniment that complemented the meats beautifully. Though the restaurant was oddly quiet for a Wednesday evening, the quality of the food more than made up for the lack of atmosphere. The service was kind and attentive, even if not particularly elaborate. We'll definitely be returning to explore more of the menu. I've eaten there several times over the year but hadn't been for some time. Last time I was there was with a large group (15 maybe?). The food, and the service were excellent! I took a friend here recently and was utterly disappointed. The server was apparently new to waiting, which isn't usually an issue with me, but I felt he was lacking common sense. Mistakes were made without any type of apology. We were charged a higher price than what was on the menu. Knowing I wouldn't finish all the food, I asked for my soup to go when I initially ordered my meal. I had to ask for the soup three times. I've never had dill rice so I decided to try it. Holy sheeeet was that a lot of dill!!! Waaaay too much dill. I didn't complain/send it back. At this point I was so disappointed I simply threw in the towel. As for the rest of the food, I can make better food at home. It was over cooked, and lacking flavor. In the end we couldn't find our server to explain that he overcharged us (only $3.90) for one of the appetizers, so we just left. Will NOT be going back to give them another shot. Just go! My family loves Persian food. This place is great. A few notes: warm pita with feta and herbs felt like a hug. I ordered the veggie plate which could have fed two people...omg! As a vegetarian I love Persian food but this set up felt like my vegetarian choices wasn't a "work around". My husband joined in too. We ordered via doordash for pick up 2 combination plates with a variety of different meats (lamb shish kabob, filet mignon shish kabob, chicken koubideh, & beef koubideh). Overall the portions were very generous and quality was excellent. The dill rice and couscous were both great on the side and really enjoyed the additional appetizer of baba ghannouj. We placed an online to-go order for 6pm the other day, and arrived shortly before 6. Approaching the counter, we told the staff member about our to-go order. After much fumbling and no success locating the order, they asked us how we placed it. "Oh, online. Got it." The staff member proceeded to find the order and then (I could not believe my eyes) hand it to the kitchen staff, who only then started preparing the order after we arrived...so our entire family of six ended up eating nearly an hour after we wanted to eat. No apology no nothin. Uncool! The actual food was delicious and spectacular. The chicken koobideh was flavorful and well-cooked, and the rest of the meats, including the lamb and the grilled chicken, were great. The filet mignon had a great cut and a rougher cut, so probably wouldn't get that again, but the rest of the food was so, so good. Good hummus and baba ganoush. Even the desserts, the baklava and the donuts were good. We will be back...will probably place a phone order next time! read more

Food was not what I expected from Rezas as I have been an avid customer in the original one on Clark Street in Chicago. First off, we arrived at 11:45 and it was empty. And empty is an understatement as the cashier was also not up front. I could hear the kitchen banging and stirring (yes stirring) but still no one even after I yelled out "HELLO"..... Maybe 10 minutes in someone finally showed up, not friendly but just can I help you, in an annoyed voice. We explained we were there for lunch, and he said sit wherever you want to. Wow, not off to a great start. I also asked if it was okay to park on street as this is a residential (condos) area. He said no, park in back. But I did let him know that it clearly stated to not park in back as cars would be towed. He told me to ignore sign so I did move my car and came back in. But still all in all, I wasn't feeling comfortable being parked where it clearly stated "Do not park or you will be towed". Next point, food was okay but there was definitely something missing? I couldn't pin point what it was though, but I definitely do not get the same food experience, nor the hospitality, but I digress, as I already stated that. About half was through our meal the host decided to add music to the ambience, which of course is nice, but loud. I don't know, but my experience was not what I expected, as I have been trying to come here at this location for over a year and due to the main location finally closing its doors in the old neighborhood. We will see if I come back just for pick up or not. But I was left very disappointed and bewildered at how an awesome part of Chicago, has changed so drastically. I may change my stars if I return, but for now, a 3 is all I can give. You all need to up the game. read more

We had a private party here and enjoyed it very much. Their party room is nice and spacious and they had a separate buffet set up for us. We were able to choose menu items to fit their party packages and they let us customize our menu with a mix of Persian and Pakistani food. The food was delicious as was the mint lemonade and desserts. Communication was great as well. read more

Very disappointed with what Reza's has become. We used to enjoy the food and the service. Took family there today and were shocked at the service and the place. The staff did not seem to want any guests and were unwilling to answer questions or offer food or even smile. We were told we can't order because buffet is the only option and we have to pay in cash. Since we were already there we agreed. However, most of the buffet dishes were empty and we had to ask for them to be filled which took a while so we were mostly done with our meal by then. There was no seafood at all (something Reza's was known for at one time) and very few other options, and one sad dessert. After all this, we were charged extra tax (even though we were paying cash) and got no receipt. We are never going back to eat at Reza's and will not recommend it anymore. read more

Had the lunch buffet at noon on a tuesday. salads and dips were fresh. chicken and beef kabobs were grilled well. Slightly dry but add to fresh lavash and hummus or baba ganouj on top and you have a solid bite. skip the ground meat kabobs, not a great flavor or texture, needed salt. skip the butter chicken. Rice was solid. Best bite was the lamb shank...tender and flavorful. I made the mistake of filling up on the other items. A plate of lamb, rice, salads and dips and I would have been more than pleased. Our party of 4 were the only people in the restaurant. Give it a shot! read more
