I ordered the chole bhature and paired it with "ganne ka juice" (fresh sugarcane juice). The chole bhature was spot on, absolutely loved every bite. The sugarcane juice was refreshing, though it could have used a little more spice and lemon for extra kick. Others at the table ordered the masala dosa, pav bhaji, and garlic noodles, and all of those dishes were quite good as well. The ordering process is simple: a server takes your order, and the food comes out quickly. However, once you're done eating, you're expected to clear your own table. We are checking in on a pair of deliveries that were intentionally and unnecessarily delayed as entertainment for the manager on staff. The driver was directed by the host who went on to direct the driver by saying both orders were not ready and both orders would not be ready for at least another ten minutes, and confirmed it. Laughter from the manager who eventually handed the orders to the driver about ten minutes later was noted while avoiding and not speaking to the driver at all upon arrival and announcement. Both orders were ready upon the driver's arrival and announcement and both orders were eventually picked up from the very table the host directed our driver away from. A non English speaking exchange was observed and not understood by the driver between them at the time and laughter was the managers response with no introduction or assistance offered or clarification provided. Are you expecting this to carry on? This is why we are asking for the owner's response. What do you expect the customer to do besides further penalize the driver for unknown and unexplained delays and avoiding all of all this only to exact the ownership of the delay and intended confusion to the driver to process, explain, and to deal with entirely at their one expense. And for nothing having to do with the excellent delivery service they continue to provide on a regular basis, as the history shows. The driver has to explain all this. It ruined the drivers evening and the ability to earn more income without carrying of feeling at a loss. Restaurants who do not offer or employ delivery personnel depend on delivery drivers and must share the process to be responsible and accountable for managing pickups to their customers and not hide behind drivers reputations. Restaurants choosing not to employ delivery drivers themselves at fair pay and compensation allows for this nonsense and an avoidance that would otherwise clearly not exist and would squarely put all of the dining experience responsibility on the restaurant as should be the case and should be expected. No one else knows this is happening unless it is reported. Many are getting away with dumping on drivers. After many requests to assist drivers, we have assembled to provide a voice from The drivers. Without reporting this kind of activity there would be no way to resolve this kind of behavior. Thank you to the drivers who take the time to make improvements on the platform. This request for assistance is coming from a well known Diamond Level Delivery Driver who has no prior incidents on record. We will update this review accordingly. The manager at Honest knows about this. We are looking for the owner's response to all delivery drivers who accept deliveries from Honest. The restaurant has enough seating to host family dinners and birthday parties with a casual vibe and people usually walk in. If you go on a weekend, be prepared for it to be crowded, and loud, and for the service to be on the slower side. Many times, you might have to go up to the counter to request extra plates/chutneys, etc. The ambiance is very much family oriented with groups of all ages, which can also mean crying children at times. We ordered Honest Special Pav Bhaji, Mysore Dosa, Spring Dosa, and Mixed Uthappam. Starting with the Pav Bhaji, the taste lives up to the hype with a butter layer. It is medium spice, and the quantity is plenty for 2 people. Next: Mixed Uthappam is made of fresh finely chopped vegetables and comes with sambhar, white, and red chutneys. The sambhar could be a hit or miss depending on the day, but the chutneys are always on point. The Uthappam itself was well flavored and combined with the chutneys, the dish really delivers. Out of all the dishes, my least favorite was the spring dosa. The presentation was beautiful; however, the taste was mediocre. Spring dosa is a twist to the authentic dosa with vegetable mix, which is unique but still prefers the regular Mysore masala dosa. Overall, I would rate the food that is very reasonably priced a 9/10. If you are making a trip to the Chicago suburbs and craving good Indian food, I would highly recommend this restaurant. read more

As we (me and my husband) have already been to Honest in the Schaumburg area and didn't quite like it, I was reluctant to go to this place. But being next to Patel Brothers (our Grocery shop) and as I was craving for some good Indian chaat, we thought giving it a try. We ordered Vada Pao, Veg Manchurian (dry) and Dahi Puri. The Vada Pao was excellent, the best we had so far, Veg Manchurian was on point and delicious. Dahi Puri was decent, could have been better as I felt the filling and the dahi was a little less and my husband found it on a little sweeter side. Honestly exceeded my expectations.. now that the 'captain obvious pun' has been used, getting back to the review. We came here as a group of 5 and considering the ample space, we were seated immediately. Decor reminded me of 'Gopals or Sindhi sweets' in India. Casual yet peppy We ordered the dahi puri & Chinese bhel to share while we we waited for our pav bhajis. Also, since it's so hard to get good Indo Chinese I went all in and ordered the Hakka noodles. Dahi puri was amazing, Chinese bhel was way better than Hakka noodles. The honest special pav bhaji was just like the one we get back home. For beverages I had the fresh sugarcane juice and tasted the kaju badam shake.. the shake was a bit too thick and choked with nuts. Sugarcane juice was decent. I read couple reviews discrediting the service but our server was very friendly. A bit disorganized but not the biggest deal. Important thing to note is that I also happened to try the Honest located in Schaumburg soon after I visited the Naperville branch. Schaumburg experience was a horrible one. Pav bhaji wasn't fresh, they ran out of sugarcane juice, shake options are limited and it was also self service. So I was left a bit confused as to the discrepancy in these two branches. Definitely disappointed with the Schaumburg branch, however, I'll recommend putting in the extra 15 min to drive down here instead. read more

Excellent Pav Bhaji, any style you want that Pav Bhaji is TOPS!!! Spicy, flavorful and just the right consistency and the Pav (bread) caramelized and toasted to perfection!
