Plate Meal + Shrimp Ensenada Taco + Al Pastor Taco
Todd N.

I grabbed this right after landing at Long Beach Airport and Holé Molé - this place hit way more than I thought it would. I want to highlight the go-tos here: Do: get the Fish Ensenada, Shrimp Ensenada, and smoked brisket tacos!! The fish and shrimp are crispy and come with refreshing slaw + pico - reminded me of San Diego-style fish and shrimp tacos! And get extra salsas! Don't: get the al pastor or the Fish Ensenada Burrito. The al pastor tasted more like chorizo/ground pork to me. And the Fish Ensenada Burrito was just OK - the fish got soggy inside the burrito, so I definitely preferred the taco version. Overall, I'd definitely come back for a quick bite or try the other locations that seem to be more popular too! Thanks, Holé Molé ~

Inside "dive bar" atmosphere. Very clean

$10.23 for 1 street fish taco + 2 hardshell chicken tacos + small refillable fountain drink. Service was prompt. Food prep prompt. Loaded with salsa bar. I'M a long time customer. Free parking. Next to 7-11.

I've been coming to Hole Mole for years, and I can confidently say their fish tacos are some of the best. The fish is always perfectly crispy, flavorful, and fresh -- they never miss. Every time I go, it's consistent. Everyone is so friendly and your order comes out quick. Recently I tried their steak (barbacoa-style) tacos, and wow -- 10/10. I'm not even sure which I like more at this point. Now I just get one fish and one steak because I can't choose. The beans and rice are so good, and it's absolutely worth ordering the small plate that comes with two tacos, refried beans, rice, and a grilled chili. Those grilled chilies have the perfect flavor and just elevate the whole meal. The salsas are delicious, and everything always tastes fresh and well-seasoned. I especially love coming here in the summer, grabbing a plate, and sitting outside on their little patio enjoying the sun. It's such a great casual spot -- honestly perfect any time of year, but especially when you're craving really good fish tacos. Definitely a must-stop if you're in the area.

Taco Tuesday after my first day back at work with my husband. We ordered 4 fish tacos, 3 al pastor tacos, 1 carne asada taco, 4 shrimp tacos, and 1 horchata. The shrimp tacos were my favorite, crispy and flavorful. The fish tacos, on the other hand, were a bit soggy and not as enjoyable. You order at the counter, and they give you complimentary chips and salsa, with a salsa station to choose from. Small, casual taco shop vibes overall.

My friend and I had a stunningly delicious lunch at this assuming little taco stop yesterday! The little retail center was busy at lunchtime but we easily got parking! The restaurant itself is beyond humble, but appears clean and well run. They have a salsa bar! Which is always a plus in my opinion! My buddy raved about the smoked brisket taco! He is a top expert on lunch so that is what we ordered! The brisket was served with chips and a big scoop of guacamole! We both added the beans and rice with a drink special! The flavor was rich and delicious the smoked brisket was perfect! The service was professional and efficient! You will be shocked at the food!

The flavor and the meat quantity was great. Highly disappointed in the way, the burrito was wrapped.

We just stopped in to grab a breakfast burrito and what a disappointment. We ordered the one burrito and a few minutes later another person arrived. 20 min later still no burrito and as I looked up I saw the cook chewing on something then I saw the woman who takes the orders and fill the chip bags and she was eating a chip as she was filling and a chip broke from her mouth and who knows if it went in the bag. A few minutes later we got the burrito.

Best Crunchy Tacos in Long Beach - This continues to be my go to spot for tacos and they are always fast and friendly at the counter. The music really is a great addition because you never know what throwback you might here. Crunchy tacos come in orders of 2 and are at a great price. Hole Mole is the perfect lunchtime meal or easy dinner night. Hidden Menu Gem: The chipotle crema can be ordered in as a single cup

The fish burrito hardly has any fish in it. Just a couple of chunks, and the rest is beans and rice. Kind of a wack burrito if you ask me.

It's normally taco Tuesday or dinner. It wasn't busy when we arrived. Mainly everyone was seated outside which we wanted a table as well. There was one that we were interested in and asked if we could have it which the waitress working was ok with. But it needed clearing up. It took a while for someone to come out and clear and clean the table up. It was fine waiting but it was like did someone forget about us. Anyways. We got seated and then the waiting continued. It could be that they were short staff but it seemed like there was only one person working. It took a while for someone to finally come back and acknowledge us and take our order. After that the chips and salsa were brought out. Once we ordered the drinks it was easier to place everything together. Menu for happy hour is pretty limited. A few drinks and beer on drafts and for food, maybe 6 items on the menu. Went with an order of the street corn which was quite tasty. An order of the mole chicken nachos and the queso dip with barria. Out of the three, the queso dips and the street corn were great. Nachos were good but nothing really major. The flavors of everything were quite tasty. Dishes were 12.00 an item. For happy hour, it was decent and what we had was good. The service was pretty slow at the beginning. Only the front patio and inside seating was available as the back patio wasn't open. We did start to see other staff walking in so maybe there was only one staff during the time.

Not impressed by anything we ordered, given the competition locally…read more I will drive to Acton, CA (124 miles round trip) for their chicken tortilla soup ... bringing back 3 quarts of it after our meal is done. The soup here lacks the tastebud awakening zip that Don Chato's has. The ono fish taco experience was my fault... I hate fried fish taco, so I had lofty expectations, but due to the fact that I do not prefer corn tortillas, guacamole or raw onions, led to much disappointment since It has all three. Totally my fault. The butternut enchilada was lacking in the expected savoriness... this is being polite. The potato taquito was okay... but I am not a taquito person, so if you are I would seriously encourage you to try it. The star of the table was the Mexican corn. It may not compete with Cornman in Lincoln Heights, but it was decent. I scraped off the onions and toppings on the ono tacos, put the fish on the flour tortillas that another person didn't want, and topped the fish with refried beans, street corn and a but if the chicken tortilla soup broth to make due. When you are driving more than 30 minutes for this experience, I think you would agree that it was less that a proper way to celebrate a birthday. Oh and if there isn't any street parking. It'll cost you about 9 bucks in the lot. I didn't use the restroom, so I cant review its cleanliness. Our waitress was flawless taking orders and delivering food The restaurant itself has a great layout and an outdoor courtyard complete with propane heaters and umbrellas - I loved that... but my favorite part was out front, no not the seating area in the former parking spaces, nope... it was the collapsed woman on the sidewalk, walking her dog with snot running out of her nose because she was huffing some aerosol can of whatever. This truly set the mood upon arrival. Two stars for being close to a lot of other food choices to visit afterward.

Seeing people going in and out which I knew it was a restaurant. Last night we started off with drinks at the speakeasy next door. The two places share restrooms and that's how I found out about this place. Let me say it was a vibe. The first thing you notice from the back, the bar area and Photo Booth. And the live DJ keeping the place on its feet. We ended up wanted to check it out as it was a full restaurant and bar. Friday night without a reservation, spoke with hostess which they could accommodate 6 of us in a bit. Still had to close out at the other place before. The restaurant has a cool vibe with the main dining area in front, bar area towards the back side and on the opposite site is where the DJ booth was. Sam was our waitress who took very good care of us. Very sweet, friendly and of course attentive. Made sure that we were well taken cared of and if anything was needed she was there. It's a cool Mexican restaurant with a cool vibe to match. The place did get lively and was pretty full. You had parties up and dancing and enjoying themselves. Anyway, food and drinks. Started off with some spicy margaritas. Wow, they were strong but good. You had to sip versus drink... lol... Bartender was not playing and in a good way. The menu is somewhat limited compared to other restaurants but what was offered all looked amazing. A modern twist to Mexican food but still with the amazing authentic flavors. Instead of a meal we opted for à la carte and shared everything. Also was informed that the dishes are like tapas and great for sharing. Chips and salsa were brought out which both the chips and salsa were excellent. An order or the aguachille which had that nice sour taste with the lime juice perfectly balanced for the shrimp and trimmings. Served with tostada. The shrimp ceviche, another wonderful dish. Nicely marinaded in the lime juice was very flavorful and also served with tostada. An order of the enchiladas, came with three but we split it for 6 of us. The cheese and filling was very good. The molcajete served in a volcanic bowl stuffed with different meat, cactus, cheese all combined to create an amazing dish full of flavors. A must have and lastly the adobado hamachi collar, yellowtail. Very tasty but did have a fishy taste. Yes it's fish but still. Quite tasty and plentiful. Overall food and vibe was great. The place was definitely lively in the evening. We can finally say we've been and tried some amazing dish. It's a place that worth coming back for more. Parking is a little crazy as residential is always packed. There's a lot across the street which they do utilize but it's can be a bit crowded as well.
