Margarita Monday with happy hour taco and a dash of brussel sprouts!
RoseEllen S.

Once upon a time another wonderful LBC find, I always have a good time here! Tacos are delicious, mmmmmm margaritas!, and just nice-going staff. The end.

This place has good salsa and chip. I was in the area and craving some Mexican food. I got their enchiladas plate. It was good. The restaurant was spacious and has a surfer boy vibe. The staff were friendly and chill. Overall, it gave a good beachy feel. The burritos were also tasty. They had own parking lot. Just a chill spot for a quick bite.

Breakfast Burrito

For airport food? Pretty good. Large enough breakfast burrito to be split, fresh ingredients, generous portion, reasonable price. Would recommend for a quick bite before your flight!

Wonderful spot to come and get your chips and salsa fix along with a the great dishes you all know and love... I like that we were able to come with 10 unannounced and they were happy to accommodate, and when more of our friends came, the help actually seemed happy that more came... the service was a 10, the food was an 8, and another 10 for the staff!

Taco Tuesday - Grilled Shrimp taco, Baja Fish taco, Al Pastor taco.
Chad K.

Not a bad spot. Open floor plan, clean, and very fast service. Parking is hard in the small lot that they have, so we parked on the street. On Taco Tuesday they have some great food and drink specials. The place was full of other patrons, so they must be doing something right. Tacos were ok. Not particularly flavorful or large in size. I think they are good fodder to have while drinking, but nothing I would go out of my way to order again. They were not particularly discounted either, but they did offer fish and shrimp options, so it all balanced out. A great middle of the road solution if craving Mexican food without a long line in a casual environment.

Grilled Mahi Tacos
Celina C.

Came by myself for a quick lunch in between my classes and I got taco combo plate. I got the grilled mahi and Michoacán tacos. I thought that the mahi was really good. On the hand, the pork on the Michoacán was very tender but I would say it is a bit lacking in flavor. The service was really fast, and it is nice and bright inside--perfect for lunch. They also have a full bar and a lot of TVs for the people who like to watch games. The menu is also well-priced. I'd say I found a cool lunch spot right by my school.

Menu price

100% bait and switch prices wrong on menu when called out got a response of do you want the food or no they are getting everybody with fraudulent prices

Tacos are kind of average
Fernando A.

I really want to like taco beach. It's just up the street from my workplace, and they have a good happy hour special. But, their tacos are just kind of bland and average tasting. I got one fish taco that tasted like a fish stick in a tortilla with some shredded lettuce, and an al pastor taco that was very bland. The tacos at Hole Mole are better, but Taco Beach has a better sit down atmosphere to hang out with friends. I'll have to try other items before I give up.

Pre-birthday beverages!

Another walkable, close to my house joint that we frequent from time to time. They have ICY COLD beer *yum* and the food is pretty good. I enjoy sitting at a table by the open windows on a summer day with the breeze coming in. Sippin' on that icy cold goodness. Delish! They tunes are always bumping and they play the best station. 90's on 9 via Sirius XM. (I asked!) You'll love it too if you grew up in the 90's like it did. ;-) The only complaint I have if the owners are reading; it's past time to fix the outside sign. I drive by it multiple times a week and notice it. It would look so much better if you freshened it up!

The atmosphere is upbeat. The food is always really good. The loaded fries and nachos are one of our favorites.

I love the whole concept and atmosphere; it just felt like the perfect birthday brunch setting. I was especially pressed (in the best way) that they had a dog menu, so of course we had to bring our dog, Shadow, to enjoy it with us; which made the experience even more fun and unique. The food was okay, nothing mind-blowing but still enjoyable for a casual brunch. The drinks, though? Strong! just how I like them, especially for a birthday celebration. But the real highlight was the service. Our server, Emma, was amazing; super attentive, friendly, and really made the whole experience stand out. Overall, it's a cute spot with great energy, perfect for a chill brunch by the beach. VERDICT: I WILL COMEBACK, if I go back to Long Beach!

It's normally taco Tuesday or dinner. It wasn't busy when we arrived. Mainly everyone was seated outside which we wanted a table as well. There was one that we were interested in and asked if we could have it which the waitress working was ok with. But it needed clearing up. It took a while for someone to come out and clear and clean the table up. It was fine waiting but it was like did someone forget about us. Anyways. We got seated and then the waiting continued. It could be that they were short staff but it seemed like there was only one person working. It took a while for someone to finally come back and acknowledge us and take our order. After that the chips and salsa were brought out. Once we ordered the drinks it was easier to place everything together. Menu for happy hour is pretty limited. A few drinks and beer on drafts and for food, maybe 6 items on the menu. Went with an order of the street corn which was quite tasty. An order of the mole chicken nachos and the queso dip with barria. Out of the three, the queso dips and the street corn were great. Nachos were good but nothing really major. The flavors of everything were quite tasty. Dishes were 12.00 an item. For happy hour, it was decent and what we had was good. The service was pretty slow at the beginning. Only the front patio and inside seating was available as the back patio wasn't open. We did start to see other staff walking in so maybe there was only one staff during the time.

We tried the jamaiica, cucumber, and regular ELBC margi-rita and I can guarantee you we felt a nice buzz. For food, we ordered taquitos de papa, half dozen oysters, 6 tacos (carnitas, carne, and pollo), quesadillas, and the el crunchy shrimp tempura roll. Our spread was litty! Prices were reflective on their recession menu which I think was cleverly designed. Service and ambience were great. Catching up with friends on taco Tuesday is always a good time. I will say this: they have some of the best chips and salsa. The chips are crispy, warm, and taste super fresh. I'm a sucker for good chips and salsa. It's easily one of my favorite parts of going to a Mexican restaurant, and they definitely deliver there. Their cocktails continue to be consistently delicious. My absolute favorite is the cucumber jalapeño margarita, refreshing with just the right kick. They never miss on the drinks. As for the food, I've had their enchiladas and tacos before. This last time I ordered the blackened shrimp tacos. When I hear "blackened," I expect bold seasoning and flavor. That's not what I got. They were pretty basic and underwhelming for the price. Two tacos for $17, plus an additional $5 per shrimp taco? That felt excessive for what was served. Service was okay. Nothing special, nothing terrible. Now, the location? You can't beat it. Being upstairs at 2nd & PCH with the Alamitos Bay view is a whole vibe. It's a perfect setting for date night or drinks with friends. They don't validate parking, but the first 90 minutes are free, which helps. Overall: great drinks, amazing chips and salsa, beautiful location , but the food (at least this time) didn't quite match the price point.
