its average americanized mexican food. Not really authentic and not on par with taco surf or Rubio's which arent great but a bit tastier. Pricing is also a bid deceiving and when you order combos vs customized orders which are charged at a premium. read more

I came here with my parents for a late lunch. The place wasn't very crowded and we got a seat right away. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. I got their fish tacos with a side of fries. We didn't have to wait too long for our food. My fish tacos were really good. The fish was fresh and crispy and I liked the sauce that came with it. The cabbage on top was super fresh and my fries were perfectly cooked and seasoned well. We had a really nice lunch here and I'd definitely come back. read more

This place is amazing! Great food, fun vibe and everyone is just happy and friendly. It makes us feel good just with the service alone. However, the most famous item, in my opinion, is the habanero shrimp enchiladas, rice and beans. The habanero heat builds slow, but then rolls off with that delicious flavor. Totally recommend this place. read more

This is our go to place to eat out. Food is always fantastic and the service is top notch. We especially love Dee. It feels like a low key party with good music and great people. We've struck up a few conversations with strangers. I don't think I've found anything on the menu that wasn't good or I wouldn't eat. Gotta check this place out! read more

They stole from me. My total was $15.44. I gave a $2.00 tip. They billed my credit card $19.44. not sure how that happens. The gave me a side of sour cream that was $3.44. Also when I called they give no way to answer or leave message. This is the only way I can contact them. Check your receipts/ charges. read more

Hello, My mother made an online order at this place approximately one hour ago and when she arrived allegedly her order had "not been received". She was patient and then when she asked, "Where is our order?" It was given to another customer by mistake. Although I understand accidents happen, there should be some type of compensation for customers who experience this. read more

I'm a big fan of Taco Beach. The food is good old down home Mexican based. They say you can tell a good Mexican place by the salsa, and to be honest, that's the only reason I didn't give them five stars. It doesn't taste like it's made there which it really should if that means starting with a different base, whatever that benefit from better salsa, I went there with Boomer, and was happy to hear another dog bark on the patio, so I took him in with me, or rather, he took me in with him. I met up with friends and we had a delicious Friday afternoon lunch our waitress was fantastic and let me know that some of the dishes weren't ready yet. It was a holiday and they were getting ready for a rush. Oh great. read more

Cool place. Found on line, wanted a local fish taco. Wow, we were pleasantly surprised at how frickin awesome the tacos were. Wifey and I shared the Mahi tacos and the Baja Fish tacos! OMG amazing. Great vibe with Dad and son (Eli) running the place. Super friendly. We'll be back! read more

Great food, attentive staff, dig the 80s tunes. Despite great the deal, main complaint were the single layered tacos (with the acidic ingredients) rendered the tortillas useless mush, as everything fell to the plate while raising to take a bite. Tacos tasted great, even out of this world in my opinion but I was only able to consume them with the assistance of a fork directly from the plate. Maybe, had they been double-layered one could've consumed them normally w/o either a plate or fork. read more

This place is just a couple of blocks away from my house and I heard good things about it, never had a chance to try it since living 10 years in the area, 2 weeks ago I finally went in wondering if they would have the soccer game I wanted to watch This place blew me away with their food, service, attention and friendly staff, I can honestly say this has become one of my favorites places quickly, every time I come in the service and food is consistently excellent, real Mexican food and great drinks the selection is great, love it!!! Overall I gave a 5 star rating because there are no more stars to give read more

This place has very good food, great atmosphere and friendly service. My first time here and I'm really impressed.

Good food n friendly servers! We love their takeout, reasonable for a large amount of food you get!

This place has decent food and could be a really great local neighborhood taco restaurant. Unfortunately I just think the management is out of touch with the ambience of which a neighborhood restaurant is looking for. Every time I go into this place the hip-hop music is blaring and it feels like more of a local watering hole than it does family restaurant you can enjoy With kids or a group of families. I think altering the ambience of this place could drive a lot more business given it's not full very often. read more

This place Is going downhill fast. My friend ordered shots of tequila and they were WAY watery. Like drinking water with a hint of tequila. I'm not exaggerating. And the margarita tasted like Jose Cuervo mix and no tequila. I had zero buzz. Food was just ok. I usually just come for lunch and get a salad which is fine. I also love the Brussels sprouts. The only great thing they have is the salsa. read more

Always drive by here going to Target and assumed it was over price due to it's location however one Tuesday my husband finally looked them up and said they were priced like other spots so we decided to give it a try. Did not realize they had a taco Tuesday so we all got tacos. My kiddos had chicken tortilla soup and a beef quesadilla. I had a grilled shrimp and a grilled mahi taco. Both were good portions and delicious, packed with lots of cabbage. My husband enjoyed his carne asada tacos and my MIL said her fish taco was yum. Service was great and quick. I did not catch our waiter's name but he was good however when we asked the girl for to-go boxes, she never came back with one and went about doing other stuff. Ok. We had to wait for our waiter to get back to us to finally get some boxes. I think the only major con was how hot it was in there. They do have some ceiling fans running, windows and doors open but it still was pretty hot. That won't stop us from coming back though. read more

The food isn't bad but it isn't great. The service is good, but I swear the margaritas are watered down. Their Cadillac/El Jefe is basically sweet and sour mix with a splash of tequila. Atmosphere is whatever- nothing spectacular. If you're looking for amazing Mexican food- I can't say that's what you will get. I really tried to like this place but with so many other great Mexican food restaurants in Long Beach, I have thrown in the towel with Taco Beach read more

Tacos were a good deal for Taco Tuesday. Steak Fajitas hit the spot. Good happy hour, including solid beer deals. However, they need a new margarita recipe. Neither myself nor my friends like them. In all my years of living in LB I never had tried Taco Beach until this past weekend. I had heard good reviews so I came in finally to give it a try. When I walked in the host TOLD me (didn't offer or suggest) to sit at the bar but I don't drink so I asked her if I could sit at a table instead. She said yes with a reluctant facial expression and tone. When asking me if I wanted a drink I asked her for her non-alcoholic drinks and she stated they had Jarritos. I asked her if I could have one and then she TOLD me, to get up and go get it myself from the cooler myself so that she wouldn't have to make too many trips back and forth. I was shocked and speechless, but not to cause a scene, I went grabbed my drink myself, ordered food, ate and left a nice cash tip. Unfortunately however I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone (especially people of color like myself) if that's the service I was subjected to. read more

I came here on a Thursday evening and it was getting pretty busy. It's very casual and located next to bars. The menu offers a good amount to choose from. I opted for two shredded beef tacos with beans and rice. Tacos were good portion wise but also not my favorite. I did enjoy the rice and beans! Overall, the food is mostly decent but service is slow. I'm not in this area often so I probably won't be back. This isn't a bad option though if you happen to be in the area and want Mexican food. read more

So, my son and I ate at Taco Beach and let decided to let everyone know how great this place is. We had fish tacos, wings and quesadillas. Excellent food, fun vibe and a place with great energy. It's a great place to enjoy alone or with family/friends. Customer service is awesome. Price is affordable and food quality is fantastic. Looks like our debit card number was stolen when we ate dinner at Taco Beach on Sunday. Bank said they think it may have been an employee because of how quickly the fraud charge was placed after we paid and left. Thankfully we got a call and text from our bank Sunday night. Left a message for the manager first thing Monday morning, said it was about an issue with a charge on our card, and have never received a call back. I've called back several times and am always told that there isn't a manager there and they "come in and out all day." Bummer because I really liked their baja fish burrito, but not sure I feel comfortable giving them any more business. Filing a police report so we can hopefully get a look at the surveillance footage. If you eat there, I'd definitely bring cash. read more

I recently took a visit to Taco Beach in the Los Altos area of Long Beach on Bellflower Blvd. They're a Baja inspired Mexican restaurant serving up tacos, burritos, fajitas, and much more with a laid back feel. They've got a pretty extensive menu and a full bar, so there's sure to be something for everyone. Here's the sitch from my visit. Baja Shrimp Tacos The shrimp tacos immediately caught my eye. They're packed with grilled shrimp, grilled peppers and onions then topped with melted cheese and their house spicy creamy baja sauce. These are good sized tacos and fit for big appetites. I really enjoyed them. Pipeline Burrito This is my favorite burrito at Taco Beach. It comes with your choice of shredded brisket, carnitas, shredded chicken, asada, ground beef or charro chicken. Rice and beans are added then it gets topped with red chile sauce and shredded cheese. I've had the brisket and carne asada. Both are good, but the brisket is my fave. Mango con Chile Double Margarita This is one of the tastiest blended margs I've had. It's a double shot of tequila, mango purée, fresh lime juice, pure blue agave, sweet & sour, Chamoy, and a Chile salted rim garnished with a lime wedge. Don't let the tasty fool you. These are delicious and can sneak up on you real fast! Get on down to Taco Beach for a chill vibe, tasty eats, and good drinks. Don't sleep on that Mango con Chile Double Marg, either! read more

First visit for me Sunday lunch Four adults Five kids between 8-14 years Completely underestimated how much food comes in an order. Extremely generous serving sizes, even the kid meals. Free chips and salsa: salsa is fresh with a good kick; chips are light and not greasy Carnitas fries - delicious Fry cook reminds me a bit of in n out style Props to the taco joint that serves Brussels sprouts! These came out in a large asymmetrical bowl with a great crispy browned texture. Only con was the heavy oil build up at the bottom of the bowl that made the last layer of sprouts not enjoyable with a mouthful of oil. read more

I LOVE this place! Food is amazing! Service is always great! It's never way too busy either.

Do not go here. (Taco Bell is better!) Beware of sanitation and food quality. Way below average food with zero flavor. Salsa tastes like its from a jar. Service was lacking too (young waitress). Now, in this time of covid you would think they would take precautions with cleaning. One of our forks had what looked like dried up onion on it. Thank goodness I had plastic utensils in my purse. When our plates were brought to the table, it was served with a spoon already in the plate with the beans and rice. Turn off! How do I know that wasn't dirty either?! I ordered a 2 item combo and asked for all the toppings on the taco and taco on the side. Not surprised, it came with everything on it. Not worth sending back to the kitchen, as I was already turned off from eating but I tried to wipe off as much as I could. Bathrooms do not have toilet seat covers either. Looks like all of their supplies are stored in the handicapped stall... not one package there and dispensers are empty. By the time we got home, our stomachs were not feeling well. Thinking we are going to need some pepto. read more

More of a taco sports bar than a traditional Mexican restaurant, Taco Beach offers a lively ambiance but the setting is also friendly enough for kids and families. My first visit coincided with taco Tuesday, and it was a great deal. Their tacos are quite a lot more substantial than tacos found at most other places. The carnitas meat was tender and flavorful, and the shrimp was juicy and cooked just right. I also liked their complimentary salsa and warm chips. I am not really a drinker, but they do offer a whole menu of alcoholic beverages. I ordered an orchata instead, which is actually very good (I often use horchata as a benchmark for a restaurant's authenticity). read more

This place sucks because the fiancé brought home a cali burrito and when I cut it in half ...realized there is no carne Asada ?! Cmon.. it's the first ingredient listed in the "California burrito" part of the menu. Burrito with no protein.. lol. Pretty disappointing to have the essential part of the burrito not there. Fiancé called the store..spoke to a girl and all she had to say was "we re busy today.. and the kitchen probably just forgot and rolled it up". She offered credit for a burrito..which is fine. But probably wouldn't come here again based on this sorry burrito. It's like ordering an ice tea with no tea. read more

I was supposed to meet a few coworkers from a nearby facility in the area for lunch, but they bailed at the last moment so the department assistant and I ended up at Taco Beach. I really liked the layout of the place and the service. Unfortunately I didn't like the food. See pics. A coworker and I split an order of Calamari. Most of the dish was overcooked. The lighting didn't allow the camera to really capture how well done the crustings were - which combined with the size of the cuts, meant those were too well done too. Imagine chewing on rubber bands. We didn't finish the plate. I meant to bring it up with the server, however, I just forgot to. The burrito - didn't look as good as the pic looks. I ordered several types of meat (Alamo), which it came with, but the meat portions were not proportionate with the rest of the ingredients. It was as if I were rice and salad, wrapped in a burrito. The first few bites were okay because the meats were concentrated on one end. However, can't say the same after that. I'm not really sure if I would have liked it had there been more meat. I was already turned off with the calamari. Both my coworker and I felt that this would be a cook happy hour destination. Just not a great place to eat. read more

We love coming to Taco Beach!! One of our favorite places in Long Beach. Our teenager even loves coming here and orders the Steak Fajitas on a regular basis! The beans and rice are exceptional. El Jefe margaritas are where it's at!! I travel the menu, lol, and have never been disappointed. Also love that they have cold beer on tap too. They are awesome! They help accommodate for over 40 people and we had an amazing server D!

Only reason they are really getting two stars is because of its prime location and nice scenery surrounding the building other than that I have to say I'm kinda disappointed throughly not only is there chilaquiles is a sad excuse for a proper dish but the chicken was gray it looked unsettling not appetizing the salsa was mediocre at best and the chips were soggy with no crunch . I'm not trying to be an asshole but I have ate here on numerous occasions after staying at the courtyard right next door and I wanted to love it but just didn't I'd say this place only gets a pass if your eating here drunk , which then I'd might actually enjoy something from this menu . With that being said this place has potential but as of right now it's really not there and I won't be back anytime soon . read more
