We had a really amazing dinner here. We ordered the crab dip and it was delicious and plentiful. My husband ordered hogfish while I ordered the lobster Parmesan. I have never had lobster Parmesan style before and this was amazing. They fried and tenderized the lobster and made medallions. It was huge portions and super delicious and we had left overs that we drove back to Miami the next day and enjoyed again. Again we sat out back due to travel with a pup... the back area is awesome and cooled by huge fans blowing. Service was a cut above with multiple staff part of the total service package. The food was AMAZING.... We have been in the keys all week so, at least for this morning, a little fish menu needing a break. We ordered burgers and they both were MASSIVE. Absolute must-try while you're in key largo or passing through on your way to key west! Did not have to wait for a table at all even though it was busy on a Sunday afternoon during spring break. Very clean--tables, utensils, bathrooms. Service was impeccable; shoutout to Javier! He was incredibly friendly and attentive; did not have to ask him for any refills or extra napkins etc. The food came out fast and everything was phenomenal. Appetizer came out quickly with our water. Sampler included two conch fritters, two coconut shrimp, two mahi mahi fingers (not fried), Wahoo fish dip, and dipping sauces/crackers/pita bread. Everything was so fresh and delicious! Can't choose a favorite between the samplers. Entrees were the Largo Lobster & Shrimp PoBoy and the Key Lime Lobster Sandwich. Both great portions and tasty. As much as we would have loved to try a dessert, we were stuffed! The only negative is that unfortunately, they do not have a cocktail menu. On a hot day, I wanted to order a refreshing cocktail or frozen alcoholic beverage but they do not offer any. They do offer beer on tap, beer in a bottle, and other alcoholic beverages like whiteclaw though. Overall, highly recommend and will be returning! 5/5 read more

We ordered 10 and only ate 1! I never thought there could be a food "too crispy" but these wings were so crispy they were inedible. Ahi Nachos were decent but the ahi was over cooked. Fish dip tasted like tuna fish with liquid smoke added. Clam chowder just tasted like a cream based chowder. No clam flavor what so ever. I was down in Key Largo for work today and I worked past lunch so I was famished when I stopped in. I saw on Yelp that there was a check in offer so that is why I decided to eat there. I sat at the bar and was quickly greeted by the bartender who happened to be the manager there. She was very friendly and knowledge about the menu. I ordered a appetizer of steamed clams and an entree of coconut grouper basket. The clams was steamed properly and was tasty with the butter and lemon. The grouper was fresh and the coconut flakes gave it a great taste. The waffles fries that came with it was great. If I am in the area again, I will likely stop by here again to eat. read more

We went at 7:00 pm on a Friday and it was packed!! It was also a holiday weekend. While I gave it 5 stars, I will say the only downsides were parking (not ample at all) and crowded (people standing at the bar were bumping into our chairs). Some of these are just people being people. I had the stuffed shrimp which was rich and yummy, my fiancé had the Key West chicken dish which was also rich and a huge portion. We were seated on the back patio, which, though looking over the parking lot, is made up to look pretty cute and mitigate the parking lot vibe. The portion sizes were huge - my hobo salad was fresh and tasty, and the piece of fish on my husband's Mahi sandwich was gigantic. Like, almost a whole fish. We also generally don't get to rate places on dessert because we're not big "desserters', but when in the Keys, you gotta have key lime pie. Sporting a graham cracker crust, it was light and tangy, with just the right amount of sweet. Hobo's is tasty - so don't hold that "touristy" label against it. read more

When you come down to the keys the food you should immediately think of is fresh fish and key lime pie. Hobos did not disappoint. Located right off the highway hobos is in its own separate building. There is a good amount of parking but even that can get full because the place is quite popular. When you enter the restaurant is one large room with a bar close to the entrance. The restaurant can accommodate large tables if you want to celebrate a special occasion or if family is in town (there might be a long wait for this). Being a sandwich lover I decided to get the key lime fish sandwich which was amazing. It had a nice sauce the fish was cooked in similar to a piccata. Definitely one of my favorite sandwiches I've had in the keys. The service was quick and friendly. Will definitely be coming back next time I'm in the keys! read more

Hobo's is right at home in The Keys where visitors can get a big taste of some of the best fish sandwiches on the island. The lobster bisque is an excellent (and creamy) way to start any meal, especially when you're in the mood for seafood. The corn mixed throughout paired well with the gratuitous chunks of lobster meat hidden within each bowl like a buried or sunken treasure. I ordered the Key Lime Fish Sandwich too and the kitchen was quick to bring out my food. The fish, even in sandwich form, was massive and full of Florida Keys flavor. The unique sauce overlaying the thick, lightly sautéed mahi-mahi was the biggest selling point. Citrusy and tangy, it tasted like a thousand limes blended together minus all the bitterness. Behold! Bind it all with two buttery brioche buns, crunchy lettuce, tomatoes and you've got yourself a one-of-a-kind, tropical fish sandwich! The fisherman who caught this particular mahi-mahi, a.k.a. dolphin, must've gotten lucky because the filet is huge. The fish sticking out between the sandwich was so large that it made the bread look like a slider bun. The outdoor section of the restaurant was also large and provided plenty of seating under a wide, overhead roof. It was a hot summer's night but we didn't feel the heat due in part to all the fans blowing in our direction. It was as comfortable as any other indoor dining experience - a difficult feat to accomplish down in South Florida. Stopping at Hobo's is one of the best decisions you can make all day as you'll be left traveling through The Keys on the happiest of stomachs. read more
