Loved this place... found on Yelp and didn't disappoint. When you drive up it seems like you're in front of a house ( we weren't sure we found it. It's a a great restaurant with a great view. Indoor and out door seating and a bar. The menu is amazing (see pics). I had the lobster Rueben that many yelpers wrote about. I thought it was good but not sure lived up to the hype ... still, I really liked it. ( $33). The other meal was chicken marsala over angel hair. This was a huge portion that could have easily been shared ( 'uge) Also had the onion loaf with horseradish, this was awesome. For drinks I had a key lime vodka martini... was very good. After our evening experience, we felt we had to go in for Sunday Brunch, and after that we visited on our way out of Key Largo for lunch - so we had the full complement of meals at Buzzard's Roost and loved all of them. Brunch was amazing. I had (big surprise) Eggs Benedict, and they were awesome - a bit runny, but good and the home fries were perfection. With a brunch entree you get a complementary mimosa - so that was yummy. Wayne had an omelette with chili and the same home fries. For lunch (not that day) we had another great meal. I have recently become a fan of smoked fish dip and it was great here - served with purple onion, tomato and heart-shaped crackers. I followed that with a tuna melt - which was delish on rye bread, cheddar cheese and onions. It was so good I didn't have room for fries! Wayne got a special Mahi sandwich, blackened, served with cheddar cheese on wheat bread - he said it went great with the special margarita. We had Annie as our server for these two meals - and despite the fact that they were super busy, she took great care of us. read more

Cute restaurant with nice vibes and outdoor seating right off a canal that was idyllic on the December evening I visited after Art Basel on my way to Key West. They had a dry erase board with specials and funky little drawings near the front door. Stuff like that warms my heart as I've spent many an hour producing work like that at restaurants. I had the conch. I had to look up on my phone what conch even was! I'd come across references to Key West as the Conch Republic maybe 2 or 3 times but never bothered to find out what conch actually is. I was on vacation and feeling adventurous and figured if I was going to the Conch Republic I should actually try conch. Well, I don't think I like sea snails very much. Of course I have no idea what good conch is and what bad conch is and it's no fault of this restaurant I wasn't a big fan of something I blindly rolled the dice on. Like one time I went to a restaurant and ordered liver and onions just cause I'd never had it my whole life. Not Palmer's Inn's fault I didn't like liver and onions. And I at least would prefer conch over that. I did eat all my conch as I was hungry and I hate wasting food. I didn't complain to the waitress either. She was nice and gave me good service so I wasn't going to give her a hard time about some cuisine I knew nothing about. I've still never had escargot and this makes me think I won't sing the praises of that either. I forget what sides I ordered as it's nine months later and I'm just getting caught up on some old reviews. My vegetables did hit the spot, though, and I drank a water and cranberry juice and even considered dessert but didn't bite before hitting the road to bed down in Islamorada. Probably should be an incomplete grade here but sometimes I just review places as a trip down memory lane to help keep their memories alive for future days. Who knows if I'll ever make it back to Key Largo so I'm leaving this here for posterity. read more

Wow, visiting the Miami area, we spent a couple days in Key Largo and came across this restaurant. Before you read any further, call the airline, get a ticket, stay on the ground for at least three days, and call the restaurant and make sure Ali is working to be your server. Ali is worth the wait. Plan your trip around Ali. Did I say " Seafood Veracruz? Picture attached. I have been lucky enough to eat at amazing restaurants all over USA, Canada, Mexico, England, France, Ireland and the Caribbean. I have had hundreds of memorable meals. Everything here is ok. There is a great view to the Atlantic and while I was there a manatee was hanging out between the docks, eating and playing. I had fish tacos, which were good. I was surprised at how much fish was in them and I had to take one of them home (you get 3). They were a little drippy, not sure why. The drinks were good. The name of the restaurant makes it sound like a total dive. "Hey, I'm heading over to Buzzard's for a pitcher of Bud and some stale nut mix!" For what it's worth, I've got nothing against dives and actually prefer them when the time is right. But Buzzard's, while not the French Laundry, is anything but a dive. It's casual, attractive, family friendly, and the food is far better than any place called "Buzzard's" should be. Our server was amazing. She gave excellent recommendations and was beyond friendly. She might be my favorite server of all time. You can sit inside or out. Outside is lovely and right on the water; unfortunately, it was crazy windy during our visit so we sat inside. The outside patio is positively charming and would be amazing on a sunny day. The food is solid. We tried the smoked fish dip which comes with the cutest heart-shaped crackers. It's a good starter. We also tried the Seafood Pasta (lobster, scallops, and shrimp over linguine) and the fresh catch. Everything was very fresh and the portions were huge. You will not leave here hungry. The name of this joint is divey but it's not a joint and it's not a dive. It's a nice restaurant with high quality, fresh seafood. They also offer steaks and other non-seafood dishes. This is a nice little restaurant on the water located next to a Marina the view is somewhat skewed, so if you're looking for that unobstructed view of the open water well maybe this one may disappoint. We walked in just before the noon hour and grabbed a seat at the bar and that turned out to be a great choice Steven was tending the bar and he is wonderful in every way, friendly, engaging, efficient and just gives you a sense that you came to the right place. The outdoor area somewhat resembles a TikiBar but appears to only be a covered dining area, I noticed some of the customers were coming up to the bar and getting drinks and taking them back to their seats, a few stated the service outside was a little challenging today - that definitely wasn't the case at the bar. Our drinks were made and delivered immediately after we placed our drink orders while scanning the menu. The bottled beer was ice cold and the strawberry daiquiri I am told was awesome, sitting at the bar also gives the bartender an opportunity to share any over-pours with you (we got a few shots of a frozen mango drink). The food is really good, we opted for a Blackened Mahi sandwich and Blackened Mahi Tacos the fish portions were surprisingly large and the blackened seasoning was perfect - there are lots of choices no matter what you're hungry for, everything I saw coming out of the kitchen looked delicious. Saw great reviews so decided to come here for dinner. The place looks super tiny from the front and is tucked away behind some side streets. We chose to sit outside since the weather was super nice and were so glad we did. The views are really pretty and it was nice seeing all the boats go in and out. Our waitress was so nice and very quick. We had the blackened chicken sandwich and the chicken quesadilla. Quesadilla was great but the blackened chicken sandwich was amazing. We found this hidden gem on our ride north, and it was a pleasant end to our Florida Keys vacation. Though it was a little hard to find, it is a great spot right on a canal that does have some great boat traffic. We ate our lunch on the screened porch, which is set a little bit back from the water but still has a peekaboo view. Our server was really pleasant and helpful when it came to suggestions. I do wish we'd taken her up on the Lobster Bites, but we all stuck with simple salads that were delicious. I got the Caesar with Grilled Shrimp; I appreciated that the dressing wasn't overpowering and the cheese was very fresh. Came here for lunch yesterday and definitely hope to return soon. It was storming when we arrived so we dined inside. The outdoor seating when nice looks great. Beautiful view and shaded. Ordered the lobster Reuben and fish tacos. Lobster Reuben was just okay in our opinion. Nice big chunks of lobster meat, but not something I would order again. The fish tacos were delicious! Refreshing with all the tomatoes that was topped on. Easy to eat and something I will definitely reorder. Our waitress was so kind and sweet. She kept telling us to try the coconut cake next time. Really wish I tried it because it looked incredible. After we paid for our meal, she came back to our table to let us know a manatee was next to the deck so we were able to check it out. Six words: The coconut cake changed my life. Beautiful, festive spot along the water where you can eat delicious food, drink tasty drinks, and watch boats come in and out! This is everything you could want for a waterfront restaurant. My husband and I stopped by this spot a few months ago and we have been talking about it ever since! We started with the fried calamari which was a solid 10/10. I had a cheeseburger which is in the top 5 restaurant burgers I've ever had. For dessert, we of course wanted key lime pie, but our waitress recommended considering the coconut cake. Naturally, we got both, which was an amazing recommendation. Both were spectacular and we ate both in their entirety. I would consider flying down to Florida specifically for the coconut cake itself. An absolute must try! read more

Yesterday was my second time visiting. It was a great experience again. Let's get the minor hiccup out the way - I ordered a medium filet it came well done. The staff was super accommodating and offered a number of apologies but due to time I opted to send it back and not have it replaced. Mixed reviews on the cracked conch. But I will note one of the no's reviewers prefers a different style. Other than that minor hiccup it was a great meal and will return again. We were a party of 8 and the staff handled us and our orders with ease. I got the peel and eat shrimp again, my daughter enjoyed it greatly. The crab cake was delicious it is a large portion. My loaded baked potato was cooked perfectly. My mom enjoyed her more than full sized grilled chicken breast sandwich. My sons both devoured the shrimp quesadillas. The buffalo wings were great. We had 5 desserts and they were all double/triple thumbs up. Bread pudding, chocolate cake, key lime pie, chocolate milkshake, coconut cake. I can't repeat enough the service was great our first visit (party of 2) and the second time (party of 8). I definitely recommend this restaurant. read more

The hostess should be able to run card, clear a table or bring a drink but she doesn't. We had to get up for a to go container, no one refilled any drinks.
