The salad was creative and tasty and the grilled shrimp were perfection, large and flavorful. French fries are perfect and crunchy. Heard from others how good the spiny lobster is(although very pricey). Service was great and the area is beautiful. We were excited to go again and decided the shrimp tacos and Mahi Mahi tacos would give us more of the same. Really nice live music was happening and again service was great. Tacos were a huge disappointment! Trying to find the fish was almost impossible, tiny pieces! The shrimp was bay size baby shrimp that couldn't be tasted through all the other stuff. Second visit here, we are staying in Marathon, but I wanted to visit again this year, so hubby agreed to the 40 miles each drive. We shared rock shrimp tempura, delicious and generous. I had hoggish, hubby had grouper, we both added the key lime Tabasco butter - OMG - that stuff is like crack!!!!!! Fish was cooked perfectly. Tried to weedle the recipe out of our exceptional bar tender. First time hubby had the sauce and now he is a true believer too! Can't wait to come back again. This place was awesome! Beautiful spot to catch the sunset and the food was delicious. I got the Citrus Burrata salad and it was sooooo good! 10 out of 10. I did order a mahi filet to go with it but it came out super later after I had mostly finished the salad which was annoying but the salad was actually better on its own. The Maui was cooked well but too salty. My dinner-mates both got the shrimp fajitas and it was so good! I would definitely go back for that. We also shared the tuna wontons as an app with high was good. Server was nice as well. Price point across the menu was a little high but I thought the food quality was on par with it. What a beautiful place! It feels like you are at the paradise! As you walk into the restaurant, you can see the blue ocean. The tables are nicely placed and there were plenty trees to make shades. The service can be a bit slow but I didn't mind since I was enjoying the nice bleeze. I ordered the ceviche and key lime pie. Key lime pie had a nice tartiness and not so sweet crust matched well. We hit a ton of restaurants during our week at Islamorada. Marker 88 was one of our favorites. A bit more upscale than most of them but worth it. They have a wonderful menu and a great chef and probably the best Keylime pie that we've had here and we had it every night. We liked it here so much. We came back a couple days later in the afternoon just to drink beers and have a Keylime pie. The location is amazing ,beautiful sunsets right on the water, entertainment ,and a very aesthetically pleasing restaurant. I would definitely put this place on my list if I was going to Islamorada. First I would like to mention that their key lime pie is up there with Mrs Macs for being the best in the upper keys. Like zest throughout and homemade whip cream with extra toasty crust. Served very chilled and custard, very comparable to the restaurant Mrs Mac. Ordered the jerk chicken fajita with fantastic roti. The cilantro chutney and rice was nicely done. Marker 88 came in clutch for us (you may see a Kristen H on here, she's my partner) and my mom, sister, brother in law and their 3 kids, one day on a family vacation when our planned restaurant was gonna have too long of a wait. 1) make a reservation, especially if you're a big group. We did that the second time we went and it was great. 2) Ambiance is great. 3) Service is lovely and attentive but can get weirdly slow at points. 4) Food is delightful. The fajitas come with roti instead of tortillas and are very tasty. The curry is amazing and honestly even are the other mains. Very good food here. Happy we found this place. read more

This is a cute spot right on the beach that has really good food! Definitely recommend if you are in the area. They also cater to young kids which was a must for us! I had the coconut shrimp which was good but needed more coconut flavor. The rest of our table really liked their dishes, and apparently the fajitas were AMAZING! Today was the first time hubby and I visited this restaurant in mid-afternoon, at exactly 2pm. The service was a bit slow to begin although there were plenty of empty tables, but got better once the head waiter inquired if we had been served. The beer and appetizer were refreshing and the food was tasty, as always. However, even though we sat under the shade, the humidity at that time was at 77% which made the 85 degrees feel like 97 according to the weather channel. There was absolutely no breeze whatsoever and no fans anywhere in sight to relieve the agony. That is the reason for the 4-star. It was torturous to eat while perspiring profusely even though we both wore light summer clothing. For such a gorgeous outdoor restaurant, with delicious menu items, I don't understand why management has not thought about placing fans in strategic locations to make it comfortable for its patrons. Needless to say, we rushed through our delicious meal in order to get back to our car to blast the A/C. Other than the uncomfortable summer heat, I absolutely recommend this restaurant. We stopped here on our way back home from Key West and stopping at many WyLAND art displays. He has a beautiful dolphin statue as you walk up into this beautiful restaurant. The hostess was very gracious and didn't mind our visit. The view and restaurant is absolutely stunning! What a spectacular view with outdoor seating viewing the water! It was beautiful, very clean and has a lovely lil gift shop. Unfortunately, we had a big breakfast when we left KW! My DH did take a peak at the menu and there wasn't much on it for us vegetarians! Stopped at Marker 88 while in Islamorada and I'm so glad we did! The setting is gorgeous -- right on the water with that perfect Keys vibe. We had dinner here on the Fourth of July and were excited for a nice meal, but we could barely eat because the fly situation was completely out of control. The restaurant gave us two small fans to try to keep them away, but they were totally ineffective. We were surrounded by swarms of large flies the entire time--on the table, on the food, on us. Even our young child became so frustrated she started to cry because she couldn't enjoy her meal with flies constantly landing on her and her plate. What's worse is that I checked other reviews and saw that this has been an ongoing issue for quite some time. It's incredibly disappointing that nothing is being done to address it. It honestly makes you question the cleanliness of the restaurant. While we did notice more flies than usual at restaurants around Islamorada (which we hadn't experienced in past visits), this was by far the worst. Just to be clear--I'm not talking about mosquitoes. I'm referring to flies. This isn't just an inconvenience--it's a potential health hazard. Flies can carry disease by landing on garbage and feces and then on people's food. This needs to be taken seriously, especially by a restaurant serving the public. Until it's resolved, I can't recommend this place to anyone. read more

I'm told this place is not what it used to be. The experience left a lot to be desired. First, we arrived, and had reservations. In the lobby was 3 couples. There was a very pushy woman who did not have reservations, and asked to be seated in the beach, effectively taking our spot. Instead of the host asking he groups who did and did not have reservations, he simply addressed the people in random order. We were then seated at the far end of function tiki pavilion. It appeared they had a function earlier. We walked past tables with unbussed plates of food. Our host has to slide tables around and separate one so our party of four could sit . We sat an a undressed table, waiting for our server. As she brought over our water, she hit a chair at a table with another couple and spilled all the water over one of the empty chairs. She then gave us 4 menus that were dirty with some colored sticky substance on them. When she arrived, we had to prompt her to take our drink order. She did, and then left. Another server came by with our waters and we asked if we could have table settings. He said they were running out, while at a unused table of 8 next to us, lied 8 fresh settings. He came back with settings, menus that were a bit cleaner, and utensils. One set was not washed well and still had food on the fork. Drinks arrived. Shortly after, music started blaring!! It was like the speaker was set to 11. And this wasn't hosue soothing music. It was 80's pop rock. The only thing I can think of it was the music track for the wedding that happened prior. Our server returned and attempted to take our order over the bring music. None of imus could hear each other. We stopped her and asked her to turn the music down. She left back to the main restaurant. A few minutes went by and the music was still blaring. I left the table and went to the host station, where the server was chumming around with what I perceived was the manager. She said "oh, I'm sorry". I explained the music was far too loud, and the manager said he would correct it. As I returned to my seat, the music did stop in our section. A couple next to us heard over the loudspeaker that their car was going to be towed. No prior request to move the car. The gentleman left his seat and proceeded to relocate his car, I presume. About 10 minutes later, with no server waiting on them, they got up and began to leave. I believe they were approached to pay for their meal. The dirty plates sat with food remaining on the table. Our meals arrived and we ate, all the whole the table next to us had not been bussed. My wife went to the ladies room and came back to say that it had not been cleaned. A few moments later, the assistant manager came over and looked at the table next to us, and then walked back. My brother also went to the restroom, and return later to say that multiple tables on the beach had not been bussed. A few minutes later, my wife made her way to the host station to inform the manager of our experiences. He came back to the table, and claimed he didn't know customers were seated in this section, which was a falsehood, because I spoke to him about the music being too loud. They did take about 20% off of the bill for our troubles. We paid our bill and left. No, the table next to us was never bussed.. We have no intention of returning. There are a few words of advice for this establishment. If you are going to hire unseasoned servers, please provide better oversight and expectations. If you see a plate that is finished, pick it up, even if it's not your table, or there is a dedicated buss person. Never walk away empty handed. As a manager, walk around... Often.. give new employees clear guidance. read more

Friends were at the bar prior to our arrival and Maria helped them. We arrived after and Maria served 3 sets of guest before us and then we had to flag her down. Assume she thought we were not local. We are but That was fine. However she put her friend's $18 salad and 2 beers on our tab. They were sitting beside us. Maybe a mistake. Maybe not. She evidently was done with her shift because she hugged them and left. We got our bill. Luckily i checked it. I had over $30 extra on my tab. The new guy was apologetic but the mgr? questioned us again to make sure we didn't have the salad. I had already explained they tried to give it to us earlier but it was our neighbor's. "Her friends" sat there not saying a word. It's a shame we had to play "beat the bartender" at an establishment like that so close to home. read more
