    Alfredo's California Chicken sandwich

EVERYTHING is good here! My favorites are the Chicken Piccata, Chicken Parmesan and Monterey Chicken Salad for dinner, the California Chicken or A-1 burger for lunch, and the Breakfast Combo for breakfast/brunch. They serve breakfast until 1pm, and lunch until 3pm. The service is excellent here, better than anywhere else in Key Largo. This is our go-to place to eat, not only because the food is fantastic, but the service is friendly and attentive, and it's close to the house. They close down for about a month in October, and each time they re-open, we're very appreciative of the significant improvements. Alfredo's is in my top three restaurants in the Key Largo/Tavernier area. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is beautiful, restrooms are immaculate, and their plate presentations are exceptional.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    Yakisoba at its best !
    True 1.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Wonderful family friendly restaurant with a "seaside" vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Portions are well served and the quality is outstanding. Here is my favorites list for your knowledge: Tuna Nachos (awesome freshness and blend of crispy chip) definitely not your ordinary order of nachos ! Yakisoba: super plate of Japanese style noodles in a large portion. You can actually share this plate if you order all 3 meat options. Flavor is outstanding and accompanying rice works great with this plate. Conch fritters: reminded me of my trips to the Bahamas and Jamaica. Yes, that good. Finally , the primary contact here (Ronnie) is a gem and truly appreciates you and treats you like you and your family matter.

Don't pass this place on the way into or out of the keys! Alfredo's is one of our favorite places to eat in Key Largo. The 'on the border berger' is juicy, flavorful, and filling. They don't skimp on the toppings either. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Quick and friendly service and clean dining room.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] See y'all again soon. -The Dukes

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Service was very well, got sat as soon as we walked in even though it was very packed so that was nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was quick, we order tuna nachos which were VERY filling, and super delicious i might order those as my meal for next time. I order the chicken Alfredo it was very delicious as well & my fiancé order the hog fish and enjoyed it. We'll definitely be coming back

If you want to know where the locals eat, you found it. Consistent food, made to perfection. The menu is a good variety to satisfy just about anything you are looking for. The service is on point and friendly. The restaurant is simple, yet inviting. They are known for their hibachi... the only place in the upper keys to get it and boy do they know how to make it. I highly recommend any wrap or burrito they make... but if you are craving a burger, they place doesn't disappoint!

This place seems to be quite popular here. For what I saw they are very consistent. The service was great. Friendly and efficient. The place is spacious and look like a traditional diner. The food portions are huge. My dish was Huevos rancheros and it was very different than any other Huevos rancheros I had in the past but not in a bad way, just different. Looks like it was with some kind of white beans and I didn't taste ant spiceness as they usually are. But it was not bad. They were also very accommodating allowing me to replace the sausage with mushroom and were very generous in how much mushrooms they added!

The food here was very good. See below why I took off one star…read more I'd read about this place. It's off the main highway. It looks a bit ramshackle from the outside. But it is worth the detour. We sat at the bar, inside, with a view of the kitchen and cook, but I'd recommend sitting outside if it's not too hot and weather permits. That's a much better view. We started with their fried asparagus appetizer. The stalks were quite thin, and the portion small, but what we had was delicious. Especially tasty when dipped in the horseradish sauce. I'd get this again! After that we shared their fish dish. Two scoops on a plate with chopped tomatoes, chopped onions, and chopped green pepper. The cutest heart shaped crackers came with the dip. We had leftover dip so we took it home with us (in our cooler). We enjoyed it on toast later on. So the very good? The food. The not so good? The kitchen looked grungy and the ladies room was a mess. Would we come here again? Yes, but we'd sit outside.

I chose a draft beer to go with whatever we decided to share. We had an order of their fried Asparagus which had a sweet horse radish dipping sauce and was great. Next up was the in house smoked fish dip, two large generous scoops, crackers, diced green bell peppers. Tomatoes and onions. A tasty combination. Rustic atmosphere and smiling bartender makes you feel at home. If you sit at the bar, just try not to look into the kitchen.

Not sure if it's because we are a large party 10 or more, or what? Our last visit was a Sunday evening in early July . We ate outside. Waiter was good at getting water out to everyone. But when it came to drink orders we must have waited 15-20 minutes for him to take our drink orders. I had to ask him to take my appetizer order. We had to ask several times for our drinks - soft drinks- not alcoholic. They were not good at cleaning our dirty appetizer plates away after delivering dinner leaving the table crowded. I think what I found most annoying was watching our server and another server standing around while we were waiting for drinks, for order taking, for refills, etc. There was just no attention being paid to us. Maybe the guy was new? Not sure. The restaurant wasn't very busy so that wasn't the excuse. I've heard it's difficult to get good help in the Keys. Cost a lot to live here. Most commute from Homestead. Anyway- good for the food - don't expect great service. Ironically I did over tip. I was a server in college so I try to be generous.

It is a little tricky to find it, once you find the parking lot, it is super confusing as to where you enter. There are two floors and multiple doors. Finally someone directed us up the stairs and to the back of the building. We were greeted and given menus fairly quickly, but it took an extraordinarily long time to get our food that day. The hollandaise sauce was atypical as it tasted like there was cheese in it. The smoked salmon on a bagel tasted okay, but fell apart when it was picked up. The breakfast burrito lacked a lot of flavor. The blueberry pancake, although slightly overcooked, was actually very good. The bacon and fried potatoes were not crisp, as I prefer them. So if you like crispy bacon and fried potatoes, ask for that when placing your order. The windows and floors are dirty and the women's bathroom had a round hole with a dirty sock stuck in it on the floor. I actually tripped over it. And the bathroom could have been much cleaner. With a few improvements, Sharkeys could be more appealing to tourists going through and visiting the Keys.

Having arrived at 4:30pm, we were immediately shown to a table and informed about the happy hour specials. Not normally ones to drink much on vacation, my wife and I instead opted to live in the moment and enjoy the island life, especially since it was 30 degrees when we left Ohio that morning. As such, we each ordered a rum punch (pictured), while my best friend ordered a Bulliet old fashioned and his wife a house margarita. With drink orders out of the way, Deja, our absolutely delightful waitress, took our food orders: sauteed seafood combo (for my wife), backyard BBQ burger with coleslaw (for me), burger and fries (for my BFF and his wife, who -unlike us- were smart enough to save room for dessert). While waiting for our meals, we took in the ambiance of the restaurant, and wow was there a lot to take in! First off, we loved how the old Pizza Hut building had been repurposed and transformed into the embodiment of the tropical island lifestyle. From the display tables showcasing seashells and historic Florida Keys photos, to the license plate light fixtures, to the ceiling-mounted blue sky and clouds panels, to the fish hanging in front of each distinctively Pizza Hut trapezoidal window, we loved it all! When our food arrived, it looked fantastic and tasted even better. My wife described her seafood combo as being excellent, with the Caribbean lobster "almost as good as the ones we get in Maine." Likewise, her fish was fresh and delicious, while the shrimp were succulent. My burger was cooked to a perfect medium-rare and was topped with expertly caramelized onions and bacon with just the right amount of crispness to it. My coleslaw side was also excellent, with the perfect balance of creaminess and zing. Our friends also said their burger and shoestring fries were fantastic. To round out our meal, each of the four of us ordered pieces of Key Lime Pie, which was some of the best I have ever had in my life (and I have eaten a lot of Key Lime Pies!)! Throughout our meal, Deja checked on us often without being overbearing, and kept the drinks flowing. All told, for 5 drinks, 3 entrées with sides, and 4 slices of Key Lime Pie, our bill before tax, tip, and credit card surcharge was $163.93. Considering the excellent food and outstanding service we received, the four of us universally agreed it was well worth the price! Pros: outstanding service, fantastic flavours, great atmosphere, and the 2-for-1 drinks during happy hour were a great deal! Cons: none! Overall we rate Mrs. Mac's Kitchen as being Excellent and cannot wait to go back!
