    Lobster bisque
    Joanna V.

We were rerouted to Reefhouse Resort due to our original room being oversold. We were happy to find out there was a restaurant on the grounds as it was nice nit to have to get in the car for dinner after a long drive. We walked to Gus' Grille and the grounds of the hotel were nicely kept and safe. We sat at a table and the restaurant was pretty busy. We were attended to fairly quickly and the server took our drinks and apps order right away. I ordered the lobster bisque as my appetizer. It was a large portion and could have probably just ordered that and maybe another side for my dinner. It was very tasty and it had large chunks of actual lobster in it, which was a very nice touch. I also ordered the snapper with the coconut rice and steamed spinach. Very happy with the quality and taste of the food. All in all, this is a great choice for dinner when in the area.

    Lobster tail!!!

Gus has everything from Breakfast Lunch Dinner!! I ate all three and I am not disappointed. And a perfect porch to watch that key largo sunset!

We went to Gus' Grille on a beautiful Saturday morning and were treated to full-on Keys beauty with swaying palm trees, the sun dappling on the surf of the Florida Bay, and a very beachy feel. Sitting outside on the balcony was a good choice, but inside looked cozy and special as well. We were greeted immediately with a friendly Keys welcome and it took only minutes for our server to introduce himself. The service was perfect and the food surpassed our expectations. We shared the avocado toast with poached egg and a still-warm blueberry muffin. A decent selection of teas was presented upon request. I can see coming back here for the view, food and service whether or not I return as a resort guest. Five Stars to the staff and particularly, Anton, our stand-out server.

I made a stop at this restaurant on my way to homestead FL and had a mojito and calamari and they were both pretty good. The restaurant was empty and the service was just fine. I'll probably come back again when it's more livelier.

This is the restaurant that is on the grounds of the reef house resort and Marina. We came here for breakfast. They had a good menu with different rest egg dishes. My dining companion had a bowl of oatmeal that came with little balls of side accoutrements. These included syrup, butter, some nuts and fruit. I had Benedict was very good. I ordered the Florentine which came on a bed of spinach. The potatoes that came with the eggs Benedict were almost like flat tater tots. They were crispy and not greasy. . It was not very busy when we came. They appeared to know many of their patrons, and were very friendly. It did have great views of the water.

I never expect amazing food inside a hotel. Yet, this place certainly delivered. We sampled a few dishes and they were so so good. If you come here, you have to stick with any fish dishes. The service was pleasant. The sunset was magical. I recommend.

This restaurant is a hidden gem, we did not expect the hotel restaurant to be so delicious. For dinner we had the coconut crusted grouper and the blacked grouper with mango sauce, loved both. For breakfast I had the tuscan toast- wow! Focaccia with sun-dried tomato pesto, arugula, prosciutto, goat cheese and an egg, great start to the day. The wait staff is so friendly and helpful! View outside can't be beat. No wait to be seated. Highly recommend!

Great location! The location is the reason for the 4 stars. Food was good... not great We just really enjoyed our lunch with the view. I started off with Buffalo Chicken Wings which were nothing special. My wife really enjoyed the Hummus for her lunch. I had a Chicken Caesar Salad which was good not great. Service was ok. Nicole just seemed to disappear at times and it seemed to take longer than expected for our drink both times. I'd definitely would go back.....not so much because of the food but because of the view. Should make a note that the young lady who greeted us was super friendly.

The location has a beautiful view of the water. The crab cake was good the added sauce/syrup and garnish under it was a great addition. The Firecracker Shrimp was really good. The shellfish pasta appeared to have a good portion of seafood, but the taste was bland, I took it to go so I could doctor it up at home. The broken Caesar I would recommend passing on it, definitely not worth $13. My husband food (snapper) came out Luke warm and without the sauce he ordered. Although there were about three tables being served service response time was poor, so once he got anyone's attention it was colder and the sauce was no longer necessary, so we sent it back. Our server kept zooming pass our table. We asked for a drink menu when she first came to our table and she told us they didn't have a menu with like cocktails but they have a full bar and then told us about two cocktails they have. Minutes later we see the lady at the table next to us with a cocktail drink menu...very strange. When we brought it to her attention she said she thought we already had it from the person that sat us. Why would we ask for it? We ordered Conch Fritters to go for my mom, I'll get her input later.

(Top to bottom) Conch fritters, calamari, and Mojo Pork Tostones. All delicious choices for starters.

I must admit I was already pretty wasted by the time I got here. I do remember the clam chowder being pretty good. Nothing like San Francisco chowder but still good. The coconut shrimp was delicious as hell. And we also ordered the sampler and met some people at the bar. Don't remember much about the food after that. Those drinks were strong. One thing I do remember is almost being stranded. We took a Lyft because obviously we were drinking so responsibilities you know. But then the Lyft could not get back to Gilbert's because of road work. One of the employees was nice enough to drop us off at the gas station near by so we could get home!! 10/10 service!!! They do charge an automatic 18% gratuity and a 3% credit card fee; the credit card fees popping up everywhere annoys the he'll out of me. The gratuity is probably fair though, since I'm sure they get a lot of tourists that aren't as accustomed to tipping. 10/10, as always.

Five stars, and I want to explain this properly because High Tide in Key Largo is absolutely a…read moreplace people should experience at least once. This is one of those spots that immediately tells you it's a local favorite the second you walk in. It feels homey, lived in, and deeply rooted in the community. The average crowd definitely skews older, which honestly just shows how loyal the regulars are and how long this place has been doing something right. We stood for a minute or two when we arrived, which wasn't a problem at all, but the initial interaction felt a little abrupt. Nothing hostile, just very direct and urgent. We later found out that Cathy is the owner, and it became clear very quickly that this place is her whole world. She works hard, moves fast, and runs on urgency. That energy can sometimes come off sharp, especially to visitors who aren't used to that local, no frills style, but we gave her the benefit of the doubt. There were moments throughout our visit where the tone felt a little rough around the edges, and it wasn't just with us, we noticed it with other tables too. It didn't feel personal, more like someone who is stretched thin and running on fumes. To her credit, there were moments where she self corrected, and I genuinely believe this was just a long day rather than bad intentions. Running a place like this day in and day out is not easy, and you can feel how much effort goes into keeping it moving. This review isn't meant to tear anyone down, just to be honest for future guests so they know what to expect walking in. What truly changed our entire experience and pushed this from a four star visit to a solid five was our server. Her name started with a T, she wore glasses, and she was African American, and she was an absolute blessing. She treated us with warmth, patience, and genuine care, like we were family she was looking out for. When we sat down and the table needed to be wiped, she handled it gracefully without a single awkward moment. Everything she did felt intentional and kind. She was attentive without hovering, respectful, and genuinely happy to be doing her job. There was also a sweet older Latina woman clearing tables who was just as lovely and welcoming. It became very clear that despite the different personalities, this place functions as a team, and the heart of High Tide lives in the people who treat guests with care and humanity. If you get that server whose name starts with a T, you are in excellent hands. Now let's talk about the food, because this is where High Tide really shines. The hash brown casserole is a straight ten out of ten. No exaggeration. Comfort food perfection. Crispy, savory, and absolutely worth ordering. The country style platter we ordered was also a ten according to my friend, hearty and satisfying in the best way. The lobster benedict was good, I would give it about an eight. It's a fun, unique option if you want to try something different, but not the standout compared to the rest of the menu. And then there's the real star of the show, the Key lime pie. Even if you are not hungry, come for the pie. This is hands down the best Key lime pie I have ever had. Perfectly balanced, not overly tart, smooth and almost cheesecake like in texture. It's the kind of dessert that makes you pause after the first bite because it's that good. Beautifully presented too. The decor is charming and thoughtfully cluttered in a way that feels authentic, not staged. The bathrooms are old but very clean. Parking is a little quirky but manageable, and there is parking available if you're patient. Overall, the vibe is cozy, memorable, and unmistakably local. Would I come back? Absolutely, especially for the food and that pie. Cathy, you are clearly working your ass off, and I hope this was just a rough day. This review comes with honesty and flowers, not shade. Five stars for the food, the heart, and the people who make this place what it is. I do recommend it.

I wanted to give this 5 stars but my husband was not impressed by the taste (or lack thereof) of his bacon burger so I had to take away a star. I had a delicious Woodrow Chicken sandwich piled high with their signature onions and bbq sauce. When they brought it out, I wondered how I could possibly get the huge thing into my mouth. It was enormous (see photo) and tasty. I cut it in half and ate leftovers the next day. Service was good except our waitress did seem to struggle a bit. She either could not hear us or did not understand us (language issue?). At least she kept asking us until she understood. I do appreciate that.
