Blackened Mahi Mahi and shrimp, I subbed extra tostones instead of green beans. Regular white jasmine rice.

Always a pleasure. After the jet skis we came over for lunch and drinks. Bahama mama, Gilbert's punch, and pina coladas were all well received. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The band is playing, volume isn't prohibitively high, but you do raise your voice a bit to talk. You don't have to scream though.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service is excellent, you never feel rushed here, even though the food came out really quickly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Laid back island feeling you'd expect. Candelario is phenomenal, made us feel right at home.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They do charge an automatic 18% gratuity and a 3% credit card fee; the credit card fees popping up everywhere annoys the he'll out of me. The gratuity is probably fair though, since I'm sure they get a lot of tourists that aren't as accustomed to tipping. 10/10, as always.

One of favorite sports in the keys. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is perfect for family and friends[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] . Or to be with a loved one spending the day out. The service is good and the food is delicious too. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I recommend to come a weekend and listen to the live band.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It's a nice place to come I recommend.

We had been told by some friends to come and I'm so glad we did! Tracy was our server and an absolute doll. Explaining the menu and making sure that we didn't need anything. She came often to clear a plate or fill a glass. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Live music was such a great addition to eating out doors. As we ate, one band finished and another was setting up.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Live fresh oysters, whole fried snapper and fish tacos were a hit. Mahi fingers for the little one that she really enjoyed. Beers were cold and went down easy- even though on the day we went, they had run out of IPA - my preferred. Cold peel and eat shrimp were delicious [[HIGHLIGHT]]Prices were fair and the ambience was fantastic.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Absolutely a great place to go, eat, and relax!![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]A friend and I sat at the bar for dinner and drinks.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was awesome! The menu had a ton of choices, and the signature cocktails were outstanding!

    Wow!

This place is definitely worth going to for happy hour. Check out my receipt for my vodka and cranberry with lime! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Lots of really great views and it's right on the water![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Stopped by Gilbert's Tiki Bar while out on the boat. We were able to pull right up to the dock, which made it super convenient. We only grabbed a slice of key lime pie, but it was delicious--creamy, tart, and the perfect Florida Keys dessert. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The waterfront atmosphere makes this a great place to relax for a bit before heading back out on the water.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I just took pics of the drinks, but the food was equally excellent. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I love coming here, especially on beautiful sunny days when the water is clear.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's so much fun, and just makes you want to hang out at the beach all day long.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The piña colada really is THAT good. And the pain in the ass (rum runner mixed with piña colada) was delicious too! I recommend the coconut shrimp and the smoked fish dip - both absolutely delicious. I will keep coming back!

We visited Gilbert's to watch a tribute band. The band was fun and enjoyable. The mahi sandwich was absolutely delicious. The service was quick and friendly.

Super good margaritas. Food was really good and generous. Shelby was a great bartender! Wish they'd offer drink specials on the weekend. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice view of the ocean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Would recommend.

Their food need seasoning really bad [[HIGHLIGHT]]the only reason is open is because of the view.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Drinks terrible stick to the beer and soda. customer service is great that i give them credit. They need to improve and add some condiments and alcohol to the drink.

Conch fritters. Don't forget to ask for lemon when ordering.

As Miami locals, always ready to take the drive down to keys paradise on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. As we drove, we decided to do a quick stop by Gilbert's (on the right hand side before crossing the bridge off to key largo) for a drink and a bite. We sat all the way by the shore line overlooking the bay. Great music was playing, great ambiance all around while sipping on our rum runners and enjoying conch fritters. We only had conch fritters as a quick bite because we were going to continue driving south . The consistency of the fritters were excellent and taste was just right. Service was excellent. The waitresses were ever nice and attentive to giving us best service. For sure, we will continue to go back.

Gilbert's Resort is that first "official stop" when you're arriving to Key Largo. Great place to stop in, stretch your legs from the drive, and grab a cold one and some food. They have live music, sit where you like and they will give you service. You can even sit by there little beach area that is super cute. Family oriented yet the side by the bar is very much fun with a band. Sit by the water, enjoy some fresh fish, and continue onward to the rest of the keys. You can also stay at their resort too!

I love Gilbert's Tiki Bar. We found it by exploring the area. A giant Tiki Hut right by the water with a small private sandy beach with people swimming, jet skiing, boating, and paddleboarding. Not to mention beautiful birds flying around and some landing on the beach and gibing us a show! And a pier to go walk on. Just a great setting. Then there is their delicious food! We had the Yellowtail Snapper and a Mahi Basket. Both were very good! My daughter had a Coconut Mojito to relax by. Our server was Christian, who was friendly and attentive. We love this relaxing, beautiful, off the highway Tiki restaurant and look forward to our next visit. Oh yeah, and they are dog friendly as long as your dog is on a leash and behaves.

As we were getting ready to head home, I had read in their ad in the local newspaper that they featured fresh Florida lobster. So I delayed our departure a couple hours just to make sure we stopped here for lunch. The restaurant has an outside bar and patio dining plus inside a/c dining. We chose to sit in the inside. I'd asked the server what Florida lobster dishes they offered and the prices. She said they had two -- lobster bites and a lobster tail. I order the tail with sweet potato fries as my side. When the meal came, I saw that what was delivered was NOT fresh Florida lobster. The manager (?) told me they hadn't pulled the traps yet and didn't have any Florida lobster -- which was strange as it was almost a week into the season and their two ads touted it. Anyhow, he suggested the snapper instead and I chose the coconut yellowtail sandwich from their specials. This was barely edible -- over fried, over cooked, and dried out. I took only a couple bites and coins t even eat the rest. Meanwhile, my husband had ordered the cracked conch appetizer. We've had this all over Florida (he's a native) and in the Carribean. This version was quite different. It had large square pieces of conch in a heavy fried batter. I would not recommend this dish, either.

One thing you'll notice pretty quickly in the Keys is that many restaurants close fairly early, and this one closes at 10 p.m., so we always make sure to get there in time. I've eaten at both the bar and at a table. This year, since my nephew was with us, we grabbed a table and enjoyed another great meal. My absolute favorite dish here is the fish topped with a generous portion of crab. It is absolutely incredible! Funny enough, years ago I actually ordered the pistachio-crusted fish, but the kitchen accidentally brought me the fish with crab instead. Let's just say I wasn't disappointed by that mistake! On this trip, I finally tried the pistachio-crusted fish, and it was delicious too. My nephew couldn't stop talking about the seafood linguine. It was loaded with seafood, and he absolutely loved it. The atmosphere is one of the best parts of dining here. The waterfront views are beautiful, and you can choose to sit under the tiki hut or kick off your shoes and enjoy the sand beneath your feet. It's such a relaxing place to unwind after a day in the Keys. We've also had the coconut shrimp, which comes with an amazing dipping sauce that I'd definitely recommend. For drinks, I tried their espresso martini for the first time. They add cocoa to it, which I've never seen before. It definitely caught me by surprise, but in a good way. I always enjoy when a bartender puts a creative spin on a classic cocktail instead of making the same version everyone else serves. Between the beautiful setting, delicious food, and laid-back atmosphere, this is a place we look forward to visiting every year.

The scenery is exactly what you'd expect in the Keys: beautiful waterfront views and a laid-back island atmosphere. Our main focus is always the cocktails, and my absolute favorite is the Key Lime Colada. It's a must-order every single visit! I'm a huge piña colada fan and have never really been much of a Key lime pie person, but somehow the combination of the two is absolutely amazing. The vibe here is super relaxed. We've arrived both by boat and by car, and no matter how we get here, it's always one of our first stops. On our very first visit, we paid for a day pass to use the pool, but the prices have gone up quite a bit over the years, so we usually skip that now. They often have live music, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, and the smell of the stone-fired pizzas hits you the moment you walk inside. The indoor space is surprisingly large, and there's also a small gift shop where you can pick up a T-shirt or souvenir to remember your trip. If you're heading to the Florida Keys, I definitely recommend adding this place to your itinerary. It is a little tricky to find it, once you find the parking lot, it is super confusing as to where you enter. There are two floors and multiple doors. Finally someone directed us up the stairs and to the back of the building. We were greeted and given menus fairly quickly, but it took an extraordinarily long time to get our food that day. The hollandaise sauce was atypical as it tasted like there was cheese in it. The smoked salmon on a bagel tasted okay, but fell apart when it was picked up. The breakfast burrito lacked a lot of flavor. The blueberry pancake, although slightly overcooked, was actually very good. The bacon and fried potatoes were not crisp, as I prefer them. So if you like crispy bacon and fried potatoes, ask for that when placing your order. The windows and floors are dirty and the women's bathroom had a round hole with a dirty sock stuck in it on the floor. I actually tripped over it. And the bathroom could have been much cleaner. With a few improvements, Sharkeys could be more appealing to tourists going through and visiting the Keys.
