Food and overall experience was absolutely amazing! The staff was very warm and welcoming and you can't beat the view! Some of the best conch fritters iv had in key largo! Definitely a must try if you are in the area. 10/10 recommend! Also stop at the jewelry stand on your way out. Jeff is quite the conversationalist and has tons of affordable beautiful pieces! What a stellar place. read more

Back here again after about 6 months. Great service at the bar! I wanted to have the ahi tuna wantons and take with me a couple more appetizers. With my past review, I raved about the ahi tuna wontons. Mmm.. this time they were just as tasty, BUT, the portion was half the size & the price had increased $3. I looked over the menu and pretty much every appetizer's prices had increase $2-$3. The portions of the others I took home were also noticeably smaller. If you are a tourist, you would not know. As a local it is obvious. As always, Sundowners has a great view. Inside is small, so they have a big outdoor area. I spent $89 before tip on 4 appetizers, which also included the fried mozzarella and ahi tuna and a poke bowl. read more

Located at 103900 Overseas Highway Key Largo, FL, it is a hidden gem. You'll miss the entrance if you blink for a second! My wife and I were out for a drive and decided to stop for a cocktail. We stumbled on Sundowners. We did not go into the restaurant. We went to the outside bar. We were stunned by the beautiful views and service. All of the staff were extremely friendly and laid back. There was live music and an incredibly relaxing ambiance. While we did not eat there, people seated outside and at the bar ordered food and it looked fantastic and plentiful. If you are a smoker, they allow smoking at the outside bar and sell cigars in the restaurant greeting area. We plan on returning soon to enjoy the food and friendly atmosphere. More to follow after my next visit! read more

After six months of experiencing lunch at sundowners we had a little bit of issue with it, we went back today and everything has changed. The Service.was very very good , The food was awesome. The ambience was great the view amazing. They fix the place up a lot. We had the waiter named Junior and he was awesome every time we go there now I'm going to ask for Junior because not only did he attended to us very well. He helped his fellow waiters and waitresses and he was all over the place helping everybody else. He was amazing. Junior 10 stars to you will be seeing you soon. Thank you for your service. Keep up the great work. Ps prices are reasonable now than when we went in January I recommend to management to put more fans under the tiki hut like they did in the bar. This summer is going to be brutal just saying read more

This is your typical hole-in-the-wall stop as you drive through the Keys. When we stopped in for drinks, there was a DJ who was so good everyone should've been dancing in their seats. It wasn't that kind of crowd at the time, but I bet happy hour jams here. Not a bad place at all for a quick pit stop. read more

The place is easy to find and easy to park in. We had reservations, but didn't need them because there weren't many people there. We waited a few minutes for the hostess and then went to find her. It was really awkward, as if she didn't know what we could possibly be there for. She just stood at the stand staring at us blankly, I interrupted her infinite pause and said "I'd like to have a table please, we have a reservation for the patio". A moment of clarity briefly came to her, and she called for someone to seat us. The young man then proceeded to welcome us to possibly the worst table on the near empty patio, at that point it dawned on me that this wasn't the place to spend $200 on dinner for 2. There's no shortage of restaurants in the area so we quickly and easily found a replacement. In short, this place is only known for 2 good things, the sunset view and key lime pie. Neither of which would have been worth whatever next was to unfold. read more

Solid food with an amazing vibe!! We managed to get in without a reservation just before 7 on a Saturday night and I'm so glad we did! Reviews seemed mixed but we gave it a shot. The fish was great, pasta pretty decent but the key lime pie alone was worth the trip! Live music outside and fast service even being busy. Worth a stop! read more

Upon arrival we were greeted with a lovely smile by the host, who comfortably allowed us to sit anywhere we wanted, he recommended us to be at the outside deck. To see the amazing sunset! Hence SUNDOWNers as their own name. We tried all the soups, lobster bisque, clam chowder, & conch chowder. The server Gabriel was awesome and attentive. He graciously blessed us with a complementary banana bread, before having their famous key lime pie. Which was extremely phenomenal bursting with so much flavor. All that we had was deliciously savory to our liking. Thank you for the wonderful experience. We will most definitely be coming back. read more

Great service from Casandra!! She had the best actitud! Will be comming back for sure!!

(4/5) The food was absolutely delicious, the cocktails were excellent, and the service was outstanding. Our server, Jim, was attentive, friendly, and made our entire dining experience even better. He provided exceptional service from start to finish. The only reason I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars is the live band. While the musicians were talented, the music didn't match the atmosphere of what feels like a family-oriented restaurant. It had more of a loud beach bar or Caribbean Club vibe rather than a relaxed dining experience. A different style of music would better complement the excellent food, service, and overall ambiance. Other than that, we had a wonderful experience. read more

I used to love this place, went a couple of days ago, and was very disappointed. I knew something was off, and low-and-behold, new owners. At 60, Ive been to a lot of restaurants, this one included, and I also worked at some. So, $20 for a Glenlevit, for a weak pour that was maybe 1oz, really? Wake up call, you are not anywhere close to Capital Grill or Smith & Wollensky's, and they easily do a 2 oz pour. So, this made me watch the kitchen carefully, and saw what appeared to be young line cooks running the show. I do not mind spending good money on great food, but I did not risk it. and a lot of the recent 1 star reviews confirmed my intuition. I believe it is either a restaurant chain, by the looks of the employees and their uniforms, or someone who comes from that background. As the younger generation says "the vibe was off". Best of luck, I hope you are able to find the right management to not tank this beautiful location. God Bless and Godspeed. read more
