We had a good breakfast here. I'd read about them online. Reports said they were very busy and to get there early. We came between 7:30 and 7:45 am and we were the only ones dining in house. They did do a few takeout orders while we were there, as well. I got their corned beef hash with one egg and hash browns. I'd recommend the hash browns which were very good over the grits -- which were a bit too runny. The corned beef hash was not one of the better canned varieties -- I'd skip this. But the egg was cooked exactly as requested. The biscuit was huge!! More like a small loaf of bread. My husband got the all American breakfast with two eggs (poached), grits, and ham. The ham was just okay. The eggs were good. And the grits were loose. He also got the biscuit. Service was good. Food came out fast. Harriette's for sure holds the crown as the muffin (wo)man The four muffins we tried were all delicious but if we had to rank them the order would be cappuccino mocha(new muffin) Key lime coconut, Carrot Cake, Blueberry. I can't express enough that all the muffins above are top tier and I'll be thinking about these muffins until I'm able to go back and try more flavors. This is honestly a perfect diner. The food is simple and good. The service is nice. Decent coffee. But the thing to get here is most definitely the muffins. I know I've reviewed Harriette's in past but no matter how much time has passed, they are so consistently good. The crab cake Benedict is what I typically get but we went twice on this trip to key largo and I got the lobster omelette the second stop which was so rich and delicious as well. Same friendly staff every time and the turnaround at the tables is relatively quick for how small of a spot it is. They do a great job of getting people in and out without rushing you. We always get muffins to go, which are a must if you've never had them. The Keylime muffin is my favorite, but I tried the raspberry white chocolate this time, which was awesome too. Their specials sounded great, but it's hard for me not to order my favorites. I think the next time I'll try something new again! Looking forward to it. read more

Every single second of this experience was perfect. It was a short wait, even though they were busy. Dine like a local at Harriette's! A quaint cafe in Key Largo, Harriette's Restaurant is a small restaurant that serves big dishes with even bigger flavors! I had the Shrimp and Grits, which was a deliciously rich and savory dish chock full of juicy plump shrimp, tons of sausage, and perfectly cooked grits that seemed to be mixed with a nice dark roux. My friend tried the Chicken and Waffles, which was a massive serving and was perfect topped with sweet maple syrup. The service was quick and lovely as well - despite the restaurant being full this Sunday morning, our server made sure we were well taken care of and our food all came out hot and at the same time (a feat for a table of 7!). All hail the queen of muffins!! I am told there is a full time lady that carefully manages the whole process of baking (that's right) *31* different flavors of muffins. We had the peanut butter chocolate and the guava muffins. Both were epic - warm, fresh, kinda slightly gooey / moist in the middle, and crisp on the outside. We ordered a few other breakfast menu items as well. The people that work here are sweet and nice and most of all patient with the newbies. This is definitely a local folk place. It is a bit run down and dated like most places in the middle keys. The whole place looks like a little shack that was added on to several times as an afterthought, with a mish-mosh and hodge-podge of different materials covering the walls inside. The lower molding is deteriorating and all of this just adds to the charm. It's tiny inside, people are on top of each other, but it works and it's adorable. Absolutely worth the hype - what a local gem! We were in town on a long weekend and had seen an instagram reel highlighting the amazing muffin selection at Hariette's. You can never be sure with instagram recommendations, but we were intrigued. The restaurant from the outside is so kitschy (in the best way) and fun, I was already excited on arrival! There place was quite packed and people were waiting outside, so I was a bit nervous about the wait but we didn't wait more than 10 minutes. Juliette greeted us warmly and was so helpful to give tips on the overwhelming selection of muffins. I opted for the shrimp and grits and a chocolate coconut muffin. My husband and I also got some conch fritters to start. I will say, the conch fritters were not my favorite from the many we've had during our stay - just not crispy and little flavor and meat. But this just might not be their specialty because all the other food we had knocked it out of the park. The shrimp and grits were so flavorful with a delicious pepper sauce, had plenty of sausage and shrimp. My muffin was gigantic, warm and chocolately with a delicious coconut topper and glaze. My husband absolutely loved his key lime muffin and I understand why it's among the most popular. Had such a cute experience at Harriette's. We stayed about 10 minutes away at a beach resort and decided to have breakfast here on our last day. The place is right off the main road and has plenty of its own parking in a gravel lot behind the building. It's tiny inside but set up very cute, old fashioned with wood wall paneling and a super 80s vibe. The staff are sweet and give it a homey feeling. We arrived at about 2p on a Saturday and there were only 2 other tables being used. Our server was super attentive and the food came out fast. I had the half order of French toast with some sunny side up eggs and cooked ham - delicious. The eggs were so good. They even gave me 3 when i ordered 2 (maybe bc one was overcooked and they knew haha). The ham was delicious. My boyfriend had the breakfast burrito and said it was just ok which is why I'm leaving 4 stars but i really had a nice experience and given the area, i think it's prob some of the best breakfast around.
