    Turtle soup.... Amazing.
    Joe S.

Was driving to Fort Lauderdale from Key West and remembered seeing this restaurant mentioned in Guy Fieri's DDD show. The Turtle Soup was delicious and they give you a pepper sauce that adds to the flavor. The meatloaf wrapped in bacon was his recommendation and it did not disappoint. The waitress was so nice and food was brought out quickly. The memorabilia on the walls and the decor is inviting and warm. This is going to be one of my regular stops heading into the keys.

I was very happy to order the egg sandwich with GF bread! It was messy but delicious. The Bloody Mary was pretty good but I am not a fan of cucumber vodka which seems to be popular in the keys. The waiter had my drink remade when my request for regular vodka was initially overlooked.

Let me put you all on. Easily one of the best restaurants in the keys. Not only did they accommodate a big group on relatively short notice, but the food was amazing. Starting with the skillet cornbread, which I definitely recommend everyone should try and if you have a bigger group, definitely get two for the table not because it wasn't enough but because you're definitely going to to want to go for seconds. We had been in those keys for about a week at this point and we had gone to a few different restaurants. Everyone agreed that this was easily the best shrimp scampi they had ever tried. Well, I can't have shellfish. I did order the meatloaf and I don't think I would ever say this, but it was the best meatloaf I have ever had. This is a must stop and must try in the keys next time you're there.

The food was great! The service was excellent! I lived the music they were playing... I will return!

    Shrimp & Grits

My husband and I came here for breakfast after he told me that he had been there the day before with a couple friends and someone ordered the shrimp & grits and he tasted it... and we HAD to come get some. So... we did, and MAN! I never order shrimp & grits, but these were THE BEST shrimp & grits I have ever had. The grits were nice and solid, the sauce it was sitting in, the sausage was delicious... it was just perfect! Beside that, we were able to walk right in and get a table. Our server was very attentive and everything came out in a reasonable time. The restaurant was clean. We were pretty easy and just ordered 2 shrimp & grits, and a sweet iced tea (that was never empty) so all in all - it was a very good breakfast and we enjoyed it very much!

Some of the inedible meat left over

Got the 19$ 2 meat combo platter for takeout, outside menu showed the options as chicken, pulled pork, and brisket. Coming inside, they told me they don't serve brisket anymore and that it was just the pork and chicken. When the food arrived the pulled pork was cold, dry, and tasted spoiled. Sides tasted alright but could have done with a little more.

This was our first time eating here during all of our trips and this place was worth it. We ordered the mussels, cornbread, scallops, meatloaf and the lava cake. All the food tasted great and fresh. As far as the cornbread, that was probably the best thing we ate down here during this trip. It was amazing with the maple pecan butter, which is addicting. Do yourself a favor and get the lava cake. The service was also good and friendly. When we go back to the area, this will be one of the spots we return to.

Food perfection, and service like this only available in the Florida Keys. Classic timeless traditional architecture.

I'm confused... why didn't anyone recommend this place to us ! Best meal we had in the Florida keys. came on a Saturday night bc everything was either closed for the season or jam packed , we sat at the bar and had one of the best meals in a long time. Ambiance was charming as was the bar tender. We had the tuna and the strip steak. Left so happy. Kept waiting for something here to match the meal but nothing came close. I highly recommend green turtle in

Very nice restaurant large & noisy but the breakfast was spectacular & delicious...a must come back for lunch or dinner. Absolutely yes!!!

The place is spacious and welcoming. They have a large bar area. The alcohol on display points to somewhat of a high-end experience with The Prisoner wine standing out. Service was attentive and overall the food was good. Coming here for brunch on a Wednesday I had the Cinnamon Roll French Toast - Topped with Berries. I almost never do sweet stuff, but this is one exception for the year, well, maybe two, but you get the idea. Was it worth it? Pretty close! Outside of sugar being sugar I was very happy with it. Not too sweet and the syrup was still a great combination. Someone else at my table had the shrimp and grits. Well, if you are going to choose between the two Triple D places in town I would choose the other one for that dish. Otherwise, if you are coming here, breakfast is awesome and probably a lot of other stuff too.

My little guy devoured his pancake breakfast. The kids pancake was huge and came with bacon, his favorite. My husband got the slam and enjoyed it, especially the French toast. Our server was Lexy. She was so friendly and accommodating to our little one. He was so happy the entire meal, which doesn't always happen with a toddler. I'd recommend trying this spot next time you're in the Islamorada area. For a comforting meal, with a local vibe, it is a spot not to miss.

My husband and I went for breakfast on both Saturday and Sunday of our trip. Both days the place was full and very busy, but we never waited more than five minutes because we sat at the counter, which was very comfortable. The staff were friendly and inviting and the service was excellent. They gave us time to peruse the menu and answered our questions. The first day I got the pancake combo with key lime pancakes. The pancakes were perfect, fluffy with crispy edges, but I would've liked a little bit more key lime sauce on top (I should have asked.) The whipped cream with the key lime sauce was a perfect combination. They brought out maple syrup, but I didn't use it. The second day my husband and I shared the French toast sampler and an omelette. The omelette was fluffy and well-filled with toppings. The French toast sampler allowed us to try a bunch of different flavors. We had the regular, cinnamon roll, blueberry, and apple cinnamon. We enjoyed all of them. The only "issue" we had was that my husband ordered the corn beef hash on the first day and did not end up eating it because he thought it was made in-house, but it was not and he really wanted it fresh. It's not necessarily a complaint. It's just something to note. Oh and I almost forgot that both days my husband got one of their fresh made cinnamon rolls from the case upfront. The first day it was an appetizer for him and the second day he took it home so we could enjoy it later. The atmosphere of the place is laid-back, keys vibe with lots of fishing and ocean related decor. They have a huge gift shop with a lot of art that you can walk through while you're waiting for your table. I would definitely go again if I'm back in the Florida Keys.

The fried fisherman's platter was okay but lacked flavor on many items (just tasted like fried batter) and there wasn't many shrimp (maybe four); it was mostly small clam and calamari pieces. The fried fish was pretty good. For us, this restaurant was all about the views and outdoor Keys vibe, but the food while not bad, could've been better. I've seen many people say Lazy Days has really good food, so I'll give them a pass and assume we just didn't get their best when we stopped last week for lunch.

The Spicy Margarita says it's made with jalapeño tequila, but the flavor was like they added muddled jalapeño peppers. Not super spicy just *really* strong jalapeño flavor; it was gross. The Lazy Smash had so much Key lime juice that the whole drink was just bitter. We didn't finish either drink. For entrees, we had the Steak Teriyaki and the special Lobster Lorenzo. Teriyaki sauce had some kind of Indian spice added - curry powder? turmeric? - whatever it was it tasted like a teriyaki/marsala. It was odd. The Lobster Lorenzo is a split lobster tail that is breaded and fried, topped with a giant crab cake and sauce. The crab cake and sauce were amazing, the lobster was tough and chewy. I can't really comment on the server, since we had three different guys between the drink orders, the food order, food delivery, and the check. Scenery is nice and the restaurant itself is well decorated and inviting next to the water. But the food and drinks are definitely not worth the price. There are lots of other great choices in the Keys.

The least expensive room available was a One Bedroom King Room Resort View. I was advised I would be charged one night's room and tax approximately $322 (the price was somewhere around this amount) per night. My husband advised on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday the charge did not hit my account. I booked the deposit using a debit card. That following Tuesday morning I called at approximately 7:35 and got routed around to three different people who told me they could not find my reservation, couldn't/wouldn't make me a new reservation and then sent to in house reservations. After getting passed around by three different people I kept trying to make a reservation to correct the reservation that was clearly not made on Friday and my call was disconnected. I called back immediately and the person who answered the phone seemed to know who I was and not only would not help me make a reservation, told me NO. She would not make the reservation; it had to go through in house reservations. I then asked if I should call back at a later hour assuming no one would be in in-house reservations and she said yes. When I called back at 8:50AM Tuesday, a lovely person was able to help me however, the least expensive room in the wedding block was almost $900 for an oceanfront room. I had to settle for a Golf Course with two queen beds for $100 more than my original reservation. I understand things happen but I am very upset that my now room is far away from the resort for a lesser room at $100 more per night and the appalling treatment I received from three members of the staff on Tuesday morning. I sent this exact letter to guest services on Friday May 7th to explain and try and get back my original room and to be put back in the block. I have no idea how Cheeca Lodge managed to lose my first reservation but I am disappointed. I haven't heard a single thing from the resort since.
