I didn't know mozzarella sticks could be THIS GOOD until I came to The Catch. Seriously -- the crunch? Unreal. The cheese? Creamy, melty perfection. And the marinara sauce was so good we dipped our sweet potato fries in it too (highly recommend). We also asked for coconut shrimp tacos -- not even sure if they're officially on the menu -- and they made them for us anyway. They were so fresh, crispy, and a flavor explosion of deliciousness. I'm already planning a trip back just to eat them again. Tried the Godfather Mahi too -- super light and comforting over warm spinach. 10/10 would order again when I want something cozy. I loved the local vibe at The Catch and especially the staff and the bartender! They had a great happy hour 3-6 but only 2 food items... hoping they see this review and add the pretzel for 5$, mushrooms for 6$, 2 small fish tacos for 8$ they def need more food items for the normal m-f happy hour food wise (should have 6 to 8 food items ranging from 4-8$ each).... The wed happy hour 6-8:30 has a lot of 5$ food items (and great drinks)! Dinner is also great with tons of specials like pot pie, turkey dinner and nice catch of the day. I liked this place so much I visited 3x during my stay which says a lot as there's tons of restaurants in key largo. read more

Local pub & restaurant secret of Key Largo. This is the kind of place where you feel welcome, comfortable. You'll always find local people here but everyone is welcome and free to join in the conversations. Great atmosphere and friendly attentive staff. So I'm a vegan and it's so difficult to find anyplace in the Keys that will have a vegan option. The Catch has it. A Philly cheese steak ( without the cheese of course) but very delicious. Coming here I felt like the odd man out given everyone seemed to know each other, but service was friendly enough where that feeling went away quickly. The New England Clam Chowder was one of the top renditions I have had of this soup, which can range from outstanding to awful in other places. Stopped for a little dinner on a Sunday. It was very quiet, and we sat at the bar. Our bartender was very friendly and attentive. We ordered some beers and some food. We got the mahi tacos (very good) and the fried fish platter (also good!). The sides were probably the best part though--try the fresh grilled veggies and the yummy potato salad! We didn't make it for happy hour but it is from 3:30-6:30 Monday-Friday. $2 miller lite bottles and some discounted liquor. They also have some apps for $5. read more

GET. THE. RUM. CAKE! Ok seriously, if you do nothing else... get the rum cake and don't touch the ice cream! This was literally the best rum cake I've ever had in my life. We had appetizers to start. The shrimp bruschetta and the tuna nachos. The tuna nachos aren't nachos they are 4 wonton chips with 4 pieces of tuna. The name definitely gives you unrealistic expectations, though it is delicious. They just need to call or something else. The shrimp bruschetta was ok, but I could live without it. I got the key lime Mahi for my entree and it was stupid good. My salad came out way late and the rice pilaf was disappointing, but the fish was amazing! My husband got the Mediterranean hogfish and it was decent. But mine was better. He got the sweet potato fries. And coleslaw. The fries were delicious. Coleslaw underwhelming. The cocktails are strong! So you'll probably get drunk on one! After being bummed from not being able to try a nearby Thai restaurant, we did a quick search for alternatives. The Catch was close by, so we headed over. Only complaint is that there were other options available that we didn't know about because we weren't in the bar area. I would've loved to try the wings! The seafood sampler appetizer was good. The lobster/shrimp/crab cakes were ok. The main meal was pretty good. I went with the stuffed mahi. I was kind of disappointed with the "stuffed" description. It was just a crab cake on top of the fish. Tasty, but I had the same cake as an appetizer. For dessert, the rum cake was AWESOME. From the outside, it looked like a dive. Stopped by for dinner during a trip to the keys and hit the jackpot! The wait staff was friendly and welcoming. It was obvious it was a favorite or locals with many repeat customers as many customers were greeted warmly and with hugs. The bar area was quite full with a local musician playing for the crowd. Our waitress was very helpful as we debated several food options. We had the fish dip which was devoured before we could take a photo. For entrees we had the whole fried snapper and mahi tacos. Both were excellent. The fish was fresh and flavorful. Tacos were also excellent with a spicy crème sauce. Although we were stuffed, the waitress talked us in to a slice of house made key lime pie and chocolate peanut butter pie. Both were flavorful but the peanut butter pie = amazing! Star Wars fans will be delighted to know the owner is the spitting image of Jabba the Hutt. Other than that, avoid. Food is bland and mediocre, way overpriced for the quality. Owner has history of arrests for buying food from unlicensed vendors, risking poisoning to customers. (MCSO 2019) Ambience is a cheap knockoff of Cracker Barrel without the charm, more like crap found in yard sales and put up on walls. Extremely crowded, you are on top of others as they eat. Bathrooms gross, tiny and unsanitary. Service is just meh--mostly tired old women who don't seem to like their jobs. This restaurant is called the Parasite Pub for its shady clientele, its sociopathic owner, and its sketchy-sourced food. I've been sick both times after eating here and won't be back obviously. This place makes their money on one time tourist customers who don't know any better. Even the visitors center won't recommend them. read more

Stopped in here based on reviews. Place was cleanly kept staff was friendly. Took a look at the menu on the wall and decided on fried hog sandwich with fries and a small cucumber salad. After a short wait another server returned with fries hog snapper and my two sides. No sandwich though . Just the fried hog. I asked if it came in a sandwich and she said yes if you ask. I Guess my subtle hint wasn't enough . Food was good not great salad and fries were the best two things . Snapper was dry and lacking flavor. Maybe next time I stop in I'll try something else. My daughter and I found this "locals" dive on Yelp (of course) and decided to give it a go. We were not disappointed. It was a Monday night so plenty of socially distanced seating and it Truely was a locals hang-out. Besides that they were laying in the liquid from the fish so they were all mushy and soft. The cucumber salad was good and I wish they added more veggies to my plate. I ordered two times veggies as u can see on the picture. 23$ for coconut shrimp with a little side of veggies. And then we got a sprite with no flavor and they forgot to bring the new soda with flavor back until we mentioned it when the food came.
