The daily and wed night happy hour

I loved the local vibe at The Catch and especially the staff and the bartender! They had a great happy hour 3-6 but only 2 food items... hoping they see this review and add the pretzel for 5$, mushrooms for 6$, 2 small fish tacos for 8$ they def need more food items for the normal m-f happy hour food wise (should have 6 to 8 food items ranging from 4-8$ each).... The wed happy hour 6-8:30 has a lot of 5$ food items (and great drinks)! Dinner is also great with tons of specials like pot pie, turkey dinner and nice catch of the day. I liked this place so much I visited 3x during my stay which says a lot as there's tons of restaurants in key largo.

They offer you a price on the menu and then charge you double it. They are cheaters and they also served us fermented coleslaw.

A great local place with a local comfortable vibe. Coming here I felt like the odd man out given everyone seemed to know each other, but service was friendly enough where that feeling went away quickly. The New England Clam Chowder was one of the top renditions I have had of this soup, which can range from outstanding to awful in other places. The Mile Marker 102 Mahi Sandwich - Blackened Mahi with artichokes, creamed spinach, roasted red peppers on a ciabatta roll was outstanding. That and a couple of cold beers on draft made for a great dinner.

GET. THE. RUM. CAKE! Ok seriously, if you do nothing else... get the rum cake and don't touch the ice cream! This was literally the best rum cake I've ever had in my life. We had appetizers to start. The shrimp bruschetta and the tuna nachos. The tuna nachos aren't nachos they are 4 wonton chips with 4 pieces of tuna. The name definitely gives you unrealistic expectations, though it is delicious. They just need to call or something else. The shrimp bruschetta was ok, but I could live without it. I got the key lime Mahi for my entree and it was stupid good. My salad came out way late and the rice pilaf was disappointing, but the fish was amazing! My husband got the Mediterranean hogfish and it was decent. But mine was better. He got the sweet potato fries. And coleslaw. The fries were delicious. Coleslaw underwhelming. The cocktails are strong! So you'll probably get drunk on one! At least my key lime tea was ridiculously strong. As I said in the beginning, get the rum cake. The end.

The Catch never disappoints!! Just enjoyed Mahi tacos ... simply delicious. The Mahi was fresh and the condiments very tasty! The buffalo chicken wrap was also delicious !! Highly recommend.

Where should I start? Service? Menu selection? Drinks? Dessert? Live music? All of the above are 5 star ratings! Lala, Heidi, Kathy, Bartendar, and Lala's shadow (forgot her name!) are all fabulous! They make everyone feel like VIPs & family! Their menu selection changes often so we can go 3 days in a row and find amazing selections! Every dish we've had has been amazing!!! Drinks are on point! Save room for dessert! The rum cake is epic. The new banana cake was amazing and we hope it stays on the menu! Last night we stumbled across live music at the bar! The perfect addition to a great local diner! They were so good and enjoyed by all! Love The Catch & so happy we ventured out to try them! We are now proud to say we are "regulars!"

This is the appetizers we had no idea about until after we ordered.

After being bummed from not being able to try a nearby Thai restaurant, we did a quick search for alternatives. The Catch was close by, so we headed over. We were quickly seated and had drinks served promptly. The menu had a lot of options. Only complaint is that there were other options available that we didn't know about because we weren't in the bar area. I would've loved to try the wings! The seafood sampler appetizer was good. The lobster/shrimp/crab cakes were ok. The main meal was pretty good. I went with the stuffed mahi. I was kind of disappointed with the "stuffed" description. It was just a crab cake on top of the fish. Tasty, but I had the same cake as an appetizer. For dessert, the rum cake was AWESOME. From the outside, it looked like a dive. But don't let that prevent you from giving it a try. Very good!

The scenery is exactly what you'd expect in the Keys: beautiful waterfront views and a laid-back island atmosphere. Our main focus is always the cocktails, and my absolute favorite is the Key Lime Colada. It's a must-order every single visit! I'm a huge piña colada fan and have never really been much of a Key lime pie person, but somehow the combination of the two is absolutely amazing. The vibe here is super relaxed. We've arrived both by boat and by car, and no matter how we get here, it's always one of our first stops. On our very first visit, we paid for a day pass to use the pool, but the prices have gone up quite a bit over the years, so we usually skip that now. They often have live music, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, and the smell of the stone-fired pizzas hits you the moment you walk inside. The indoor space is surprisingly large, and there's also a small gift shop where you can pick up a T-shirt or souvenir to remember your trip. If you're heading to the Florida Keys, I definitely recommend adding this place to your itinerary. Great drinks, beautiful views, and a fun, relaxing atmosphere make it a stop we look forward to every single year.

We debated sitting inside or outside and ultimately chose to sit inside because of the heat. Within minutes of sitting down, I suddenly felt something crawling up my leg. I screamed, and to my horror it was a cockroach. My husband had to jump up and step on it. What was even more disappointing than the cockroach itself was how the situation was handled. No manager came over to check on me or apologize. No one asked if I was okay after such a shocking experience. I informed both the hostess and our server about what happened and, trying to lighten the moment, jokingly said, "The least you could do is buy me a glass of wine." My server later returned and told me they had declined. I understand that unexpected things can happen anywhere, especially in the Keys. What I don't understand is the complete lack of concern or customer service afterward. A sincere apology, a manager checking in, or even a small gesture of goodwill would have gone a long way. Instead, we were left feeling dismissed and unimportant. Unfortunately, because of how this was handled, I can't recommend dining here. Also the Food was horrible on top of everything we should have left after the roach!

Not sure if it's because we are a large party 10 or more, or what? Our last visit was a Sunday evening in early July . We ate outside. Waiter was good at getting water out to everyone. But when it came to drink orders we must have waited 15-20 minutes for him to take our drink orders. I had to ask him to take my appetizer order. We had to ask several times for our drinks - soft drinks- not alcoholic. They were not good at cleaning our dirty appetizer plates away after delivering dinner leaving the table crowded. I think what I found most annoying was watching our server and another server standing around while we were waiting for drinks, for order taking, for refills, etc. There was just no attention being paid to us. Maybe the guy was new? Not sure. The restaurant wasn't very busy so that wasn't the excuse. I've heard it's difficult to get good help in the Keys. Cost a lot to live here. Most commute from Homestead. Anyway- good for the food - don't expect great service. Ironically I did over tip. I was a server in college so I try to be generous.

One thing you'll notice pretty quickly in the Keys is that many restaurants close fairly early, and this one closes at 10 p.m., so we always make sure to get there in time. I've eaten at both the bar and at a table. This year, since my nephew was with us, we grabbed a table and enjoyed another great meal. My absolute favorite dish here is the fish topped with a generous portion of crab. It is absolutely incredible! Funny enough, years ago I actually ordered the pistachio-crusted fish, but the kitchen accidentally brought me the fish with crab instead. Let's just say I wasn't disappointed by that mistake! On this trip, I finally tried the pistachio-crusted fish, and it was delicious too. My nephew couldn't stop talking about the seafood linguine. It was loaded with seafood, and he absolutely loved it. The atmosphere is one of the best parts of dining here. The waterfront views are beautiful, and you can choose to sit under the tiki hut or kick off your shoes and enjoy the sand beneath your feet. It's such a relaxing place to unwind after a day in the Keys. We've also had the coconut shrimp, which comes with an amazing dipping sauce that I'd definitely recommend. For drinks, I tried their espresso martini for the first time. They add cocoa to it, which I've never seen before. It definitely caught me by surprise, but in a good way. I always enjoy when a bartender puts a creative spin on a classic cocktail instead of making the same version everyone else serves.
