Love love Hinoki's sushi! Always fresh and the amount of rice is perfect. Service was good on a weekday. Their beef tataki is delicious

What a treat! Tram-Anh was such a great server and made our experience that much better! The sushi was very tasty, fresh, and came out very fast! Definitely a must try!

Golden Gate

The sushi here is super fresh and you can genuinely tell they use great ingredients, plus I love that the pieces are actually bite-sized instead of being massive. The Golden Gate is my favorite; I always add jalapeños to give it a little extra kick, and a seaweed salad to start is non-negotiable. Service is awesome too. Even when they're super busy, the staff stays totally friendly and on top of everything. Definitely worth checking out!

Hinoki is always a solid choice for sushi. The fish is very fresh and the menu has a great selection of raw and spicy rolls (my favorite combo in sushi). On this most recent visit, the hamachi (yellowtail) nigiri was incredibly smooth and buttery and fell apart in my mouth- probably some of the best I've ever had! If you like raw fish with added heat and crunch, I highly recommend the Cherry Blossom Roll & Playboy Roll, as both will hit the spot. The service is good and quick. I think the staff can recognize when patrons are seasoned AYCE sushi eaters like we were and turn up the hustle (in a good way), and I also overheard our server patiently explaining how AYCE works at the table next to us. The place itself definitely leans more fast-casual/no fuss as far as typical sushi restaurants. It's clean with plain walls/no decor, and all seating is all 4-top tables and bar seating. There is a warmth to the simplicity, it's certainly not a bad thing and I'll continue to enjoy it with every subsequent visit.

The sushi is delicious but they lack the good stuff like uni, torro, and organic loose leaf green tea. Service is descent and sometimes pretty quick when they are less busy. This is my go-to place for sushi in Reno.

This sushi place was really great all around! I came in on a Friday afternoon and was immediately seated. The roll options initially seemed limited to me, but they executed them very well. Every roll we had was delicious and gone within seconds! I was not disappointed! I particularly liked the ample natural light inside. Some sushi places are dimly lit, so that was a nice change up from what I'm used to. I plan to come back again and try more rolls and nigiri!

Have come here a few times now and even gotten to go because I crave this delicious sushi!! Husband and I love this place and is a go to for our family when they visit. The service is amazing and the place is no nonsense. They put all their energy into delicious food and the bang for your buck can't be beat even if you don't do the all you can eat route. Even typing this I am now getting hungry and want to make my way back. If you love sushi at all come here. The sashimi is amazing but also the ceviche roll is seriously a show stopper.

Maitake mushrooms and seared tuna from the nigiri list.

I had a delicious lunch here with my hubby. We ordered the AYCE and the lunch price is so fair and reasonable. Seems like they've added new things to the menu since we were there last. Everything was fantastic. The flavor combinations are so masterfully crafted. Items are very fresh tasting as well. We had the Bonsai roll, Dragon roll, some seaweed salad, miso soup, Yakiton, seared tuna, upside down shrimp and our most favorite the fantastic unagi on the nigiri menu. We also had dessert of strawberry ice cream and the tempura banana with ice cream. Great way to end the meal. We have always considered Hinoki the best place to get AYCE sushi in Reno and it was again today. All of the servers and sushi chefs are so nice. The service is great. We will keep coming back and highly recommend.

Godzilla King Kong and Donald Duck .

I ordered via uber eats . 2 entrees and 1 appetizer and I also ordered Donald Duck . The two rolls are the Godzilla and King Kong and then appetizer was the yakiton . The yakiton is one yakiton cut in half in the cup , very yummy , just thought it would have been a larger portion . The Godzilla was really good . The King Kong was okay , the fish was a little dry . The Donald Duck came in two pieces the first piece was alright , it was missing a little bit of taste . The second piece had something weird on the salmon so I didn't eat that piece of it .

Ceviche Roll yum!

Got in here early-ish on Friday to try to beat the rush, but the rush came shortly after. This was a leisurely meal for us so we weren't pressed for time, but the rolls did take some time to get to us. We sat at the sushi bar and could tell the sushi prep was very busy making our rolls. BUT the fish is very fresh hear, of good quality and some of the best rolls in town as far as being inventive. It's a main staple for us in town and we try to get here about once a year and we're never disappointed

Andrew K.

Overall, a really solid experience and great food. The sushi was fresh, flavorful, and well done. Big fan of the Mountain Roll in particular, easily the highlight of the meal. That said, the service was very slow. I understand it was a busy Friday lunch rush, which I can appreciate, but a few items we ordered from the sashimi and roll section never made it to our table. It was confusing because we weren't sure if the food was still coming or had been missed entirely, and there wasn't much communication around it. Food quality was excellent, but the service issues knocked it down a bit. Still a place I'd come back to, just hoping for a smoother experience next time.

Back to Hinoki and yet another 5-star experience! The sushi comes fast and is not overly sauced. Staff are attentive and ensure that you have a great experience. My favorite roll is the Mountain long roll. The fish tastes good and the mussels are not overpowered by a mayo. If you're near the mall and have a craving, this is definitely a solid spot to check out.

Boqun Y.

Really good experience at Hinoki today. I've been there many times, but the nigiri today were much better than previous visits. I really enjoyed them. As always, the staffs are friendly and helpful, and the service was great!

How much is the AYCE? What exactly is included and what isn't?

Does anyone know the current times for AYCE lunch?

11a - 4p Tell ‘em “ebike Kevin” sent you

What exactly is included in AYCE? Or what isn't? Entrees? Appetizers?

AYCE includes appetizers, nigiri, handrolls, longrolls, dessert. Entrees, poke bowls, and sashimi are separate and not AYCE.

Is it unlimited mussels in all you can eat?

Yes, appetizers are unlimited as well.

Is this all you can eat, what are the ayce rules ,and is it good for groups for 6-8 people? Is there outdoor or indoor seating?

Yes all you can eat but call if they can accommodate your group

What time does the all you can eat lunch go to?

11:00am till 3pm I believe

Is the menu the same for lunch and dinner?

I believe that the menu is the same however there are a few items added that are dinner only. I hope this helps.

Is there a sushi boat? Have limited time for lunch unfortunately

There is no Sushi Boat, but very fast service!

Do you get free sushi on your birthday?

Sorry haven't heard of any Bday club.

Have you had the ceviche roll at konpia how does it compare?

I think Kanpai has a better ceviche roll but Hinoki has a better menu, atmosphere and customer service by far not to mention it's a little cheaper than Kanpai as well

Been waiting a long time to try this place. It did not disappoint. Yes these are ~$20 burgers but…read moreyou get what you pay for. Top quality meat and different meat & cheese choices. (Their Classic in my photo is probably their least impressive looking burger.) I ordered medium rare like always at a high-quality joint but I accidentally got someone's medium-well, and after tasting both, I actually preferred the the medium-well as the grind on the rare part of the medium-rare was a little mushier than I'm used to. Probably because most places you order a medium-rare you actually get a medium. Not here. I'd go medium on a return visit. I like they don't overseason the burger with too much salt like a lot of other places. Eaters with palates desensitized to salt due to a lot of fast food/burger eating may find the need to add salt to satisfy their salt craving. The burger sauce is also served on the side and is a bit milder, and more homemade tasting compared to your average burger sauces. This is great because the meat is so good you really don't want to overshadow it with salty seasoning and overpowering sauces. If you're going to dump a bunch of salt and sauce on it, just go to In-n-Out. They also have sandwiches, tenders and chili. If you think about it, a butcher shop deciding to serve cooked food is taking a risk. If the food isn't that great it can affect their meat business. The shop atmosphere is very upscale with high prices to match it like the rest of Rancharra Village. Very limited indoor bar dining and some tables outside. Not sure if the really high prices for the meats and seafoods in the case are worth it, but the saying "you get what you pay for" at least applies to the burgers here. My only suggestion is take a sharpie and scribble the cook temp (medium, medium-rare, etc) on the paper in the burger basket so groups don't get their burgers mixed up. They verbally pointed it out but it's easy to forget by the time you get back to your table with 3, 4, or 6 burgers. Fry basket is a great value, easily enough for 2 people and probably some of the best thick cut fries I've ever tasted with sort of a very light seasoned crispy panko outer texture to them. Updated Reno Burger Rankings primarily on quality/taste but also value is factored in but to a lesser degree: #1 Armandos #2 Royce #3 Beefy's tied with The Parlor #4 Archies Giant #5 Juicy's

The place was quite busy, a little difficult to get attention. But once you get a butcher, polite, and professional, and friendly. Definitely had a good interaction with the butcher or counter professional. I do have to say this place is kind of pricey. From the $150 a pound crab legs to $60 a pound grass fed beef. Even the smoked ham hocks were two dollar pound more than Raley's, which is considered quite expensive to me. However, the personal service here made it worth the extra price as I told the guy I was looking for smaller ham hocks , and he offered to cut them up for me. With the five kids out of the house, we just don't need giant pieces . Since they are already frozen, easy enough to separate the pieces and keep some frozen. I would definitely come back here for a specific items if I'm on this side of town

I made a taco and the ground beef was seasoned perfectly! Meats: The roasted turkey and sausage were exceptional. The prime rib and steaks were overcooked and dry. Salads: I loved the variety of salad dressings available! Fruits were sparse. There was only watermelon available. Soups: Clam chowder & pho were delicious! Desserts: Tasty and the portions were too large. Recommend making the serving sizes smaller to decrease waste. I stumbled upon the horchata and Melon drink dispensers. What a great find. Very tasty and fresh! Service: Our table server was Mauricio. He made the dining experience so pleasant and we felt like a VIP. He was very attentive and served with pride and a genuine smile! This was our first time at this buffet. We were instructed that we earned a one free person meal but after looking at our bill, we did not receive the discount. I have lived in Reno for 13 years and I suspect I have eaten at Toucan Charlie's at least 50 times…read more I have long regarded as the 'to go' place for visitors. Well, not any more. I arrived at 1140. There were maybe six customers in front of me. It took 25 minutes to get seated. There had only one person checking in guests. There were 3-5 hosts waiting to get guests to their tables (I have never seen this before). Okay, let's get to the food. Birria dry and not much taste. Spanish rice was wet. Steamed clams were awful; the liquid was oily and smelled fishy. Ma Po tofu was cold and tasteless. Boiled shrimp were tiny. Orange (?) chicken was a little tough and did not have a lot of flavor. Pho was insipid. (Chinese) beef and mushroom was not tasty The only things up to the prior standard were the Smoked trout Sautéed cod Sesame ball Deserts were as expected. Service by Delphina was excellent as always. Even with 'the Monday locals discount,' the bill came to $82 for two, less tip. Given the drop in food quality, it is overpriced. I have eaten lunch at Golden Corral (in Maryland) where the food was more satisfying and cost 40% less. I won't be bringing my Reno guests here any more. So after many years of 5-star ratings, today, they get a 3-star rating.

Great place to eat seafood in an upscale atmosphere with incredible 8K Ultra High Resolution Videos…read moreon giant screens showing amazing places around the world. Prices are high as expected in this type of setting. But if you have deep pockets and a seafood craving it should fit the bill. Most if my experience is eating the AYCE sushi here. Yes it's about $12 more per person that if you want to AYCE outside the hotel, but the local's 20% discount evens it up. Selection is more limited than most AYCE menu's. Probably the most limited in Reno based on my experience. They don't have things like scallop, unagi, surf clam nigiri. Mussels only available as nigiri sushi not as an appetizer. Etc. Roll menu is decent, you will find something you like if you are into rolls. They are HUGE, so recommend ordering a half long roll when possible. They also have a selection of hand rolls. We got the Salmon Skin Hand Roll which was pretty mediocre as the salmon skin was overcooked, very dry and crunchy like it was a bit burnt. Fish quality it typically on par with the average AYCE place in Reno but overall a half step down from one of the most popular AYCE places just a few blocks North (Tokyo sushi) which is a madhouse during prime hours with long waits so if you can get seated quickly here the convenience of it being in the hotel may be the better choice especially if you want a nicer, special ocassion atmostphere. Service at the bar was not very good this time around. Waited 20 min for them to come get our card to pay. But generally at the bar, because you can order directly from the chef, the server doesn't have to come very often except to get dessert order or drink order. If they had a wider selection on the AYCE sushi menu and some of the texture of the fish (Salmon) was more firm and less mushy, it could be a 5-star experience.

Joe is attentive, has an excellent wit, and he knows the food how it is prepared and uses this knowledge to make great recommendations. The restaurant is in a location that is easily overlooked. It is on South side of I-80 just past the tank farm in the Best Western Plus Hotel. I know you what you are thinking a hotel restaurant can't be anything special but I assure you, that you will not be disappointed with the service or the food quality. I think the owners must rent the kitchen from the hotel as it is definitely not just a coffee shop serving a few Italian dishes they have some real flair for flavors. We started out with the Artichoke appetizer served with greens and a charred lemon. It was spectacular and I can see why it was selling out, the flavors were bright with a lovely acid touch and a deep salinity that was just unexpected. Thank you Joe, for suggesting this and being able to describe it perfectly. I suggested they pair this with their side risotto as a main dish as the flavors would complement and while the risotto was perfectly wonderful, creamy, soft and oh so cheesy, it needed a slight punch of salt. Two of us had Chicken Piccata which were pieces of tender flatten chicken with a bright lemony sauce and fortunately for us, they did not spare the capers which gave the sauce a needed punch of salt. My only criticism is that it should have been served with a side of pasta rather than the mashed potatoes. If there would have been some pasta with that unctuous sauce along with the grilled asparagus (love that) and the chicken, this dish would have been a perfect 10. Now I love mashed potatoes, and they were good), they really had no place on a dish with a lemon sauce. My other dining companion had the Bolognese over spaghetti rather than rigatoni, and he pronounced it excellent, with a rich flavor that he felt was perfection. He felt that it could have used a touch of salt. The bread was extra but comes with refills and is a crunchy outside, soft inside demi loaf served with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, delicious and perfect for sopping up every last morsel of the sauces. We finished the evening with gelato, the key lime pie and the cannoli. The gelato (salted caramel/coffee) was beautifully silky, the cannoli crunchy with a silky cinnamon scented cream, and a nice key lime pie that I wish has slightly more tang. But all were perfectly delicious. I intend to come again and introduce more friends to this unassuming location with great food. The ambiance was not the best keeping with a place that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner in a motel, but it was nice enough and very clean, maybe just not as romantic as other Italian restaurants in the area. But the food and Joe's will keep me coming back, he really does try harder, than his "participation star award" would suggest, this was obviously a joke! Thank you Joe, it was a truly fun evening with really good food. I will take pictures next time.

If you want all you can eat sushi you have to sit at the bar. We opted for à la cart sushi for our appetizer. My favorite was the new soft shell crab roll, the Tarantula. A bit on the pricey side ($25.99) but worth it. It has soft shell crab and Dungeness crab in one maki roll. We also got the rainbow roll. It was presented beautifully with fresh fish and tons of Tobiko. My entree was the pan seared sole. Very tasty with a light batter and dill pepperoncini cream sauce. I'd definitely eat this one again next time. My son tried the seafood fettuccini. The garlic cream sauce was a bit heavy on the cream and could've benefited from thinning it with some pasta water. My husband enjoyed the Fisherman's platter with garlic fries. I gave 4/5 stars primarily because the restaurant is located in a walkway to the casino and lacks a nice ambiance. Also, the service toward the end of dinner was very slow and we were left waiting for our check. It felt like our waiter forgot about us.
