The tables seem to seat around eight people, which worked well for our group. The vibe was calm, and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. The menu is huge and honestly a little overwhelming at first, but nothing our group ordered was bad. Pretty much everything was good, except the General Tso's, which was just kind of mid/too sweet. The prices felt fair for the location, especially because the portion sizes are massive. They also provide to-go containers for soup-style items, which was nice. We did not see any alcohol or sake on the menu, which was a little disappointing. Maybe they had it and we just were not told, but it definitely was not obvious. When you order hand pulled noodles you expect the slight chewiness and texture that they are known for. The wait was longer than we would've liked, but the restaurant isn't that big, so I totally understand how it can back up during busy times. Once we were seated, the restaurant was standard looking and clean. The food made up for it. The egg rolls were super fresh, hot, and perfectly seasoned with a great crunch. The General Tso chicken was the star though, really flavorful with a nice balance of sweet and heat, and there was this bright hit of orange zest that made the whole dish stand out. We ordered the chicken dumplings and combination fried rice. I also got a brown rice, green tea. The combination fried rice came out first it wasn't fresh. It was served to us a bit lukewarm. Decent size dish, it can serve up to two people. The rice was very mid in flavor. It lacked the traditional fried rice taste. We requested chili oil to savor our food. The chili oil added a good heat to it. The chicken dumplings were excellent. You do get quite a bit. Me and my partner shared them and had a few left over to take home. My brown rice tea was excellent nice and light green tea flavor with a nutty rice undertone. The cleanliness of the outside area where we all eat at was pretty up to par. However, the bathrooms were disgusting as soon as you walk back there before even entering the bathroom it smells atrocious. I walked into the women's restroom. It was a pigsty. I saw something floating above the door doorway and it was a roach caught in a spiderweb. It doesn't even feel safe to wash your hands in there it is that dirty. They need to do something about that because that is a representation of how they are treating their kitchen back there because it is right next to the kitchen. I did feel some kind of way after eating and seeing that but Hopefully they get their bathroom together other than that I did enjoy my experience here. I'm a creature of habit and I know there's other places to try in Chinatown but I really come here for about three or four dishes. Today was no exception. I opted for the egg rolls and the Chinese broccoli and beef lo mein with the soft noodle. It was a quiet Friday afternoon due to the severe weather so it was nice not to have to wait. Service was friendly and helpful. It would've been a great day for any of the noodle soup bowls. Both the eggroll and broccoli beef noodle dish were excellent. I ended up taking the leftovers home. The menu is huge, but we were focused - we got an order of pork xiao long bao and shrimp toast. Service is no frills and efficient. The dumplings came out steaming hot and they were full of pork. Came at a busy hour and the lady just handed us a scrap paper with a random number and just told us to come back in 10 minutes. No idea how it worked but it did. Did not have a good experience here- first of all when we came to get seated we went inside and some guy brought us back into the pre-restaurant tiny waiting area and put the number 2 onto a list and gave us a piece of paper with "8" on it indicating our spot in line. We walked around for like 15 minutes and came back, and there was another couple in the waiting area. I asked them if they were number 7, and they said they did not get put on the list but were told it would only be a few minutes wait, and that a party of 4 had just walked in before them and got seated immediately. When a worker came into the waiting area to help, he had no idea who to seat first and was confused about the waitlist the other guy had started. Eventually he talked to the other guy and we got seated, but the whole thing was pretty ridiculously unorganized. Then we sat down and got the menus which are pretty extensive. Many marked vegetarian options, many of which seem to be vegan as well. I ordered the vegetable dumplings and my sister got pork soup dumplings. Her soup dumplings came after around 15 minutes but we waited probably at least 30 for my vegetable dumplings for some reason. The vegetable dumplings were very disappointing. I think they literally forgot to put salt in the filling because they were very bland unless dunked in soy sauce and even then they were not very good. However my sister really really enjoyed her soup dumplings and she tried some of my vegetable dumplings and thought they were pretty good. So maybe this place is just not for me. When I asked the server if we could put the items on separate checks he said no because the total was under $40. Not a win -- this may be some people's favorite, but it isn't for me. This was our second time dining here. I don't recall anything particularly wrong (or particularly exceptional) from our first visit, but after today I think we've had enough. We came in for an early dinner. My husband polished off his bowl in no time. * Korean-style BBQ short ribs -- Definite hit, our oldest loved them. This is THE spot to go to for Xiao long bao (soup dumplings). I have come here 3-4 times already and each time the food is consistent and delicious! I always order the pork and crab Xiao long bao and one of the wontons in szechuan chili oil sauce. I highly recommend at least one of each! Each Xiao long bao is such a great size. It's two bites for me and fits snuggly in the soup spoon so you can slurp up all the good soup in each bite, and hold enough of the sauce. It's flavor is well-balanced! I gave them an extra star for giving me a credit for the shrimp spring rolls in rice paper. You may like them but it was way too much lettuce and one tiny shrimp. The rice paper was thick like paste. If I could give this place a Zero I totally would. Wouldn't recommend to stop by here, Really don't! unless you want to be disappointed. When I first came in with my partner we got seated pretty quickly. Then shortly after two menus got dropped off by a female waitress with glasses, unfortunately she didn't feel the need to present her self or even greet us. (Therefore I didn't get her name) Then moments later a male came over and took our order. he at least did the bare minimum and helped us place our order. After that some of our dishes were dropped off by the same rude female. She would place the dishes almost on the edge of the table and quickly run off. By the time we ate most of our food we were still missing our two canned sodas and some soup dumplings. The horrible service obviously ruined our dinner so once she did decide to finally stop by and drop off the soup dumplings I told her she could take it back. I told her she didn't even say hello to us and didn't even bring us our drinks. She said nothing to me and walked back to someone else who then brought us the bill. They apologized and still tried to charge us our drinks (which we never received) I thought maybe the girl with the glass was just shy or didn't speak English and maybe that's why she didn't speak to us but she was speaking to other customers in the restaurant.
