Honestly, not very good. I was incredibly disappointed by this restaurant. I thought the vibes of the restaurant were very nice, and the staff were friendly, but the food was severely underwhelming. The price, I'd argue, is a bit unreasonable for 4 dumplings/gyoza, just for them to be mid at best. Of all the times we selected, the biggest let down was the spicy sticky wings/mooshu, and the best was probably the soup dumplings. I REALLY wanted to enjoy this restaurant, but maybe my flavor pallet just didn't match the vibe of this restaurant.

Duck Duck Goat was AMAZING!!!!!! It can be hard to get a reservation but it was 100% worth the effort. We had a group of three and split 5 or 6 things which was more than enough food. My favorite was the mushroom dumplings and the spring rolls. We also got a shrimp stir fry and duck fried rice. Everything we got was really really good, you can't go wrong ordering. I loved that they had vegetarian options & our server did a great job explaining the menu. Can't wait to go back!!!

I had a lovely dinner here on a first date. We had a 4:30 reservation because that was the only time available, yet we really wanted to try this place. Gorgeous decor, and excellent service. Everything was family style, which we enjoyed. We started with the jiaozi and spring rolls, then had the duck fried rice, which we'd read had great reviews. Everything was delicious! Make a reservation early because this place was absolutely packed with people waiting outside by the time we left.

We came here around 4:30pm on a Saturday and were seated right away at a table. Our waiter was really friendly and gave us recommendations. We ordered two dim sum and two entrees like he recommended for two people to share. We started off with the Jiaozi and wow, they were so delicious and definitely my favorite dish that we ordered. Next, my bf wanted to get something with duck/goat in it (I've never tried duck or goat so I was a bit hesitant). He decided to get the duck and goat spring rolls, and I tried a tiny bite with it dipped in the pineapple jam/sauce. The sauce was really good, but I still don't know how I feel about goat or duck lol. For entrees, we got the pork belly (hongshao rou) and they serve it with assorted pickled veggies plus mandarin pancakes. The pork belly was soo tender. We also got the dan dan slap noodles. I love that we were able to watch them through the window making the noodles by hand. Our waiter gave us some cookies for free when he brought us our check! I definitely want to come back for the jiaozi

I loved Girl & the Goat so I had high expectations for this one, but it didn't hit the same. Vibes were nice. Dim lighting with cool Chinese decor, but more casual and louder than I expected for a place that looks this nice. Still a fun energy though. Service was great. Super friendly, consistent water refills, and I liked how they explained each dish when bringing it out. 8.5/10. Food was kinda hit or miss and a little overhyped tbh. The Chai'd and True cocktail was strong but smooth and sweet. 8.5/10. The Xi'an goat slap noodles were really good. Thick, chewy, perfectly al dente, just a little oily. 8/10. The grilled beef & broccoli was my favorite. Broccoli had the perfect texture, beef felt like actual steak, and the sauce was super unique. 8.5/10. Everything else was more mid. Crab Rangoon had a citrus flavor I didn't love. 6.5/10. Spring rolls were crispy and meaty but the filling itself wasn't great. 6.5/10. Chongqing chicken was just okay, basically popcorn chicken with Sichuan flavor. 6/10. The crispy banana dumplings were the best way to end the meal. Tasted like a peach banana cobbler inside a crispy wonton shell. 9/10. Overall, a fun and popular spot, but I expected more flavor-wise.

As an avid Stephanie Izard fan, Duck Duck Goat has been on my Chicago must-try list for a long time! Finally my schedule, bank account, and the weather all lined up to try brunch at this West Loop spot. Like everywhere else at Fulton Market, be prepared for parking to be what parking is going to be here! There are some paid street spots, I also think there is a garage somewhere, and it is noted that Duck Duck Goat does not offer valet. The restaurant is in a super chic corner spot in Fulton Market, with a very picturesque little patio dining space out front. I had a reservation and arrived just a couple minutes early; we were greeted as soon as we walked in and taken to a table without any wait. I absolutely love the inside of this restaurant. Our table was a half booth/half chair two-top in the front window. There is so much rich color and decoration, and it really feels pretty intimate - I think this is a great date spot. The brunch menu has some amazing food options, and the service was very friendly but not overbearing. We started with an order of the crab rangoon to share between both of us, and then the pork fried rice omelette and the bacon and egg moo shu as brunch entrees. This is a dim sum restaurant and the plates are more of a style to be small bites and/or shared plates, and portion size definitely reflects such! Also because of this style, the dishes came out as they were ready, not all together "as entrees". The crab rangoons were incredible - the mascarpone filling is tart and bright to counter the briny crab and the pineapple sweet and sour is incredibly craveable. I will dream about this omelette for the rest of my life. The richness of the pork and the savoryness of the fried rice paired with fluffy egg, piled high with a texture bomb of accoutrements like crispy fried onions, (fresno?) chilis, and picked red onions. This is one of the best bites in the city. The moo shu had perfectly made sunny side up eggs with the richest egg yolks. All the veggies were cooked perfect, I loved the lotus root in the veggie mix. I love that our reservation wasn't rushed, and the service was really nice. We both said before even finishing our brunch that we wanted to come back and try dinner. Also a super cute touch, we were given complimentary little almond cookies after we were done. Thank you so much, Duck Duck Goat, for a wonderful brunch date! We will see you soon for dinner!

December 2022 (9.3/10): The vibe at this place is really cute and honestly would be a great place for a bunch of people. I think overall out of the dishes we got, I was very happy with the quality. The xiao long bao were incredible and the broth inside was delicious. The duck fried rice was also incredible as the duck tasted great, but was salty. Scallion pancakes were fine. Both cocktails were also yummy! We were sad we didn't get the pitcher of the stranger things drink. The dessert we got was also so flavorful and creamy. February 2026 (8.2/10): Finally came back and while I really still do love this place, I'm dropping the score. This time I tried the green beans and the beef dumplings and both of those dishes are lovely, potentially even the best two dishes served. However, they are fully just small appetizers. The mapo tofu is edible, but it's not something I'd order again here. The duck fried rice is still absurdly salty, but this time I've had a lot more duck and know what it tastes like to know it shouldn't be THAT salty.

We came and it was a wait but they were so kind in getting us to our table to giving us complimentary shishito peppers and bubbles. Thank you! Their food was absolutely amazing. Got their glass noodles and it was so much flavors and filled with mushroom and pineapple which was unique. Our waitress was so nice and gave us the recommendation for a lychee martini which was good but really wished they would have added a lychee in it. The shishito peppers were nice and hot and crunchy. The veggie spring rolls was our favorite, it was long and savory. We also had their shrimp dish and tofu which both were so good. Loved how their dishes were filled with so much flavors and very crunchy. The banana dumplings were absolutely so good, would definitely recommend getting it. A Carmel swirl ice cream with a banana filling in the dumplings but it was more like a crab rangroon. The ambiance inside was so nicely decorated and much bigger than you see from outside. There's like three rooms one towards the front. You can also sit at the bar area as well.

This meal was unreal. If I went again I'd have to get the Jiaozi and xiao long bao again. The beef and broccoli had such thick pieces of tender steak with perfectly cooked broccoli topped with crispy onions. We also got the Dan Dan slap noodles and they were unbelievably fresh and delicious.

The food was okay. It's not mindblowing or anything. I feel as though it's just like any other chinese restaurant in Chinatown in terms of flavor profile and creativity.

I was in on Monday for Restaurant Week and lowkey for the past eight years that I've been in Chicago, Duck Duck Goat has ALWAYS been on my list. So, was happy to finally make landfall. The inside of the restaurant is quite cool, with very moody lighting, which, if you're familiar with any of my other work here, you know I adore. Decor is chic and very Fulton Market, but not in a cheugy way. Service was constant, this staff is trained all the way up, like we were taken care of! New plating was coming out routinely, water was constantly topped, and always being checked in on. Did not go unnoticed. The restaurant week menu itself offered quite a bit of variety, though we ventured outside of its bounds into the realm of à la carte. The RW deal was $60 and was totally prix-fix, so you don't really get to choose what comes out, which was fine because it was all excellent. What was brought out was pork sichuan jiaozi, (which was a pork potsticker, very meaty but in a good way), shengjian bao (pork baos), duck & goat spring rolls, which were not overly ducky nor goaty but a good combination of the two. Green beans came out next, which were seasoned with black bean garlic sauce, fried shallots, and cashews (my second favorite dish of the evening). The final entree as part of the deal was beef slap noodles, which were made with a very good short rib ragu and super chewy noodles! Dessert was citrus tea baobing, which essentially was shaved ice, ice cream, and condensed milk - I liked it, but would not go out of my way to order it, like it was fine. Not on the RW menu, we ordered the scallion pancakes, duck fried rice (which came with a duck egg!), and the chilly chili noodles (which imo were the best thing I ate that night). The fried rice was memorable, and the scallion pancakes were like buttery - but I don't think I'd order them again. Good but not crazy. At the end of the meal, the sodium and MSG kinda got to me, so drink lots of water, but very good otherwise.

Made a reservation to celebrate an anniversary and asked for a peking duck to be reserved for us. That's what we went in to try. I got there a little early but they were very accommodating and offered us to wait at the bar until our table was ready. It was ready within 5 minutes. We took our drinks and sat. Our server was so lovely and explained everything well. She mentioned they had a restaurant week menu but that we also had a duck reserved. We ordered fried rice, chilly chili noodles and veg egg rolls. Everything was so delicious. The duck skin was nice and crispy but the meat was so tender. The chilly chili noodles were just the right amount of spice and the eggroll filling was amazing. I will definitely be back as it's such a beautiful and delicious restaurant.

I've always enjoyed Chinese food in unassuming hole-in-the-wall restaurants, so I never thought to visit Duck Duck Goat until recently. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and service was terrific as well. I came with a group of seven and we shared the crab rangoon, jiaozi, xiao long bao, duck fried rice, Xi'an goat slap noodles, mapo doufu, grilled beef and broccoli, and Chongqing chicken. Every dish was either okay or too salty for me, and I just did not like the xiao long bao. Maybe it was my fault for ordering it, but I just did not love the gamey taste of the filling. I think if I had to pick favorites, it would be the goat slap noodles and jiaozi. I really enjoyed the chewy texture of the noodles but the sauce was on the saltier side. In short, Duck Duck Goat is pricey Chinese-American food with terrific ambiance suitable only for West Loop real estate, but if you are looking for good Chinese food without the drama and flair, I'd probably look elsewhere.

MingHin was packed, loud, and a little chaotic. Worth it. Dim sum is an experience as much as a meal and MingHin delivers on both fronts. We ordered more than we could keep track of. Soup dumplings that immediately became the kids' personal obsession. Shu mai that hit every time. BBQ pork buns in every form they offered because obviously. Chinese broccoli to balance out the indulgence. Everything was solid, fresh, and exactly what you want from a dim sum spread. The room was packed and buzzing but the service kept up impressively. Servers were constantly circling, clearing empty plates and dishes without missing a beat. Clean and attentive even at full capacity, which is no small thing. Fair warning if you are bringing little ones: this environment is a lot. The noise, the crowd, the overwhelming parade of food arriving at the table. Our kids loved what they ate but the sensory experience was a bit much for them. This is a place better suited for a group of adventurous adults or older kids who thrive in high energy environments. We ordered egg rolls, 2 large dumpling soups, pot stickers, a whole duck, medium ribs, sweet and sour chicken, and for an appetizer, a medium BBQ pork. When the server brought the pork, first, it was cold. I guess that's also the deal. Sometimes it's hot, sometimes totally cold. But this time, and I'm not exaggerating, more than half of the order was pure white fat. Not fatty pork, white solid fat. we tried chewing git to see if there was any meat, but no. So, I finally got the servers attention and showed her. She looked at it, and then walked away. I assumed she was going to bring us a new order. Instead, the owner walked over. I showed her the 2 plates- 1 plate with half of the solid white fat, and the other plate with chewed up fat pieces. Instead of apologizing and bringing over a new order, she said "sometimes the pigs we get are very fatty". So I replied something like "sure I get that, but you can't serve this to customers" and " can you please bring us a new order of actual pork and not just a plate of fat"??? and she then looks down at both plates and says "you already ate it so we can't do anything. I tell her that, no, I didn't eat anything- you can see a plate with chewed up and spit out fat, but she literally WALKS AWAY. So then of course we wait for her to bring a new order over, but that never happens. And we're loyal customers for many many years, and she knows us. This extreme lack of care for your longtime customers is nauseating. Like I said, we've put up with it for years because we love the food (as well as putting up with the many health code violations over the years), but after this huge fuck you from the owner over a few bucks worth of pork? We're done. And our friends are done. This rude pathetic refusal to admit that you're serving inedible food and take care of your loyal customers with a few dollars in pork will now cost you THOUSANDS of dollars every year, because we have now told 20 of our friends to stop going, and they all agreed with us. Worth every ounce of the hype…read more The staff is incredible, the food is even better some how, and the ambiance is intimate, small, and laid back. This is a spot I love to take myself on a solo date to. There will almost always be an hour long wait, so prepare for that, or opt for takeout which is also amazing and holds well on the way home. This is one I wish I had more regularly in my rotation and when I move back to the West Town area you will probably find me tucked away here quite often.

Pure comfort food. We went on a Sunday around 4pm and were quoted a 45-minute wait, but ended up…read moregetting seated in about 15 minutes. Worth the hype! The vibes were chill with pop music playing in the background. Service was solid. Our server was knowledgeable, explained the menu well, and answered questions without rushing us. The Pork & Chive Dumplings tasted like something my mom would make at home. The broth they sit in adds a lot of flavor and makes the dish even better. My only nitpick is that I personally prefer a thicker, chewier dumpling wrapper. The Dan Dan Noodles were the standout. Creamy, nutty, crunchy from the peanuts, packed with flavor, and not overly spicy. It was my first time trying dan dan noodles and now I totally understand the hype. 8/10. The Xian Bing took about 25 minutes to come out, which makes sense since they're made fresh. The lamb filling was flavorful and the outside was super crispy, almost like a scallion pancake. The bread itself was softer and thicker than I expected and could've used a little more flavor. Overall, this felt like authentic, comforting food that leaves you completely satisfied when you walk out. Next time I'd absolutely order the Dan Dan Noodles again and try the beef noodles, scallion pancakes, and beef dumplings.

Also, the fried green beans are amazing--those dishes have GuoQi, the magical Chinese smoky char I almost never get in the US. That taste really feels like back in China. Potstickers: Nice thin skins, good crunchy pan fry on the bottom, slightly underseasoned filling. Sautéed bok choy: Crispy and light with a hint of garlic, easy and healthy. Biang Biang noodles: Interesting mix of strong flavors, which weren't quite my favorite. I found it to be a touch too salty, and I was surprised by the tomato. Trialing the thin noodles was probably the wrong move; the thick hand pulled ones would've stood up to the savorineas much better. Large portion. Beef noodle soup: The thick hand pulled noodles were homey and delicious, just the right texture with some alternating thin and thick chewiness that reminded me of home. The beef noodle soup was quite light without any real beef flavor, though comforting nonetheless. Some pieces of beef were chewier and not completely cooked through while others were tender and melt in your mouth. I'd return when in the mood for a bowl of thick hand pulled noodles and maybe some healthy sauteed vegetables.
