I wanted to try a new place and found this based on reviews I had not realized it is in a central kitchen, just take out The owner was there and she was so nice I went with the curried chicken lunch special and added an extra veggie egg roll The food was hot, fresh and of high quality I enjoyed every bite This was a great find read more

I'm a vegetarian and I got the Yu Shin Vegetable (ordered extra spicy) and it was SO GOOD. Super spicy, flavorful sauce and crisp veggies. This will be my go-to when I'm craving a vegetarian Chinese dish. 10/10! read more

11/26/25 - I drove by here w/my wife today to eat lunch based on the reviews only to find that this is a pop up restaurant where you go & pick up your food & go. Dam I was disappointed we went away empty. Based on the reviews I really wanted to try this place but alas it wasn't meant to be. How do you give a rating to a restaurant you didn't eat at? Sorry I can't give you a 5 star rating but it's hard to judge on not eating your food read more

Seriously the best Chinese delivery in Chicago. I've been ordering for years and have never had a bad experience. The fried rice is UNREAL. the egg rolls are perfect. Shrimp lo mein is amazing. The pan fried noodles are sooo yummy. The oneeee thing I haven't always loved is the potstickers cause the dough is super thick but EVERYTHING IS SO GOOD. read more

Have great gluten-free options. I really liked the food always comes like you expected it

Dai Yee's Asian Kitchen is the underground emperor of late-night Chinese food in Chicago, the spot your Uber driver, your bartender, and every chef in the city whispers about when they're truly hungry. Tucked into a no-frills corner on the South Side, Dai Yee's looks modest from the outside, but step in after 10 p.m. and it's pure magic. The room is packed with everybody--sneakerheads, nurses coming off shift, club kids, cops, and couples on first dates who somehow heard the legend. The vibe is chaotic in the best way: woks roaring, orders flying, and that unmistakable perfume of sizzling garlic, ginger, and chili filling the air. The food is straight-up stupid good. The Hong Kong-style salt & pepper smelts are crackly, spicy, and gone in 30 seconds. The beef chow fun has that elusive wok hei (breath of the wok) that most places only dream of, wide rice noodles slick with smoky char and tender flank steak. The black pepper beef tenderloin is velvet-soft, glossy, and aggressively peppery in a way that makes you order extra rice just to survive the happiness. The Singapore noodles are bright curry perfection, and the Mongolian beef is saucy, crispy-edged, and borderline addictive. Portions are straight out of the 90s--massive trays that could feed a family of four for under $15. Cash-only, BYOB, and everything comes out blazing hot in under ten minutes even when the place is slammed. The ladies running the show are legends: fast, funny, and they'll roast you (lovingly) if you can't handle the spice level you asked for. If you leave Chicago without hitting Dai Yee's at least once (preferably at 1 a.m. with a six-pack), you didn't really experience the city. This is real-deal, no-filter, soul-satisfying Chinese food that reminds you why we fall in love with restaurants in the first place. Dai Yee's isn't just a restaurant; it's a Chicago institution in the making. I'd wait in line in a blizzard for those smelts. See you at midnight. read more

Dai Yee's is magnificent. They are a to-go only kitchen offering take out and delivery. We ordered a few lunch specials and some crab rangoons and each dish was fantastic! As an added bonus, I had the pleasure of briefly meeting the owner, Lisa Y., and she could not have been kinder. It will be my pleasure to continue to support her and her business. I hope you will, too. You won't be disappointed. read more

Ours was a delivery order. I was disappointed in our whole order. The sweet and sour soup was inedible. Way too hot ... even for my wife who is from Shanghai. The General Tso's chicken was better than Trader Joe's orange chicken. But that is about as good as it got. Chicken Lo Mein was immediately forgettable because of too much soy sauce masking everything. The crab Rangoon was free and tasted exactly like cream cheese. I was very disappointed because I spent a lot of time looking for good Chinese north of Chinatown. I'll keep looking. read more

Just ordered from Uber Eats. The kung pao chicken was rubbery and inedible. Really disappointed

Great food, the ingredients are fresh and the flavor is great. Will definitely return

We enjoyed another wonderful meal from Dai Yee's tonight. We ordered delivery. It came hot, fresh and plentiful! Give them a try, you'll be glad you did! read more

The food was very good and flavorful and a fair amt. of food was provided. It would be healthier if they stop using black plastic to package healthy food read more

This is a fantastic spot I found by chance when looking for dinner and a place to watch the game. The first thing I noticed was how incredibly friendly the staff was and how easy it was to settle into a table. The food surpassed all expectations, and the prices were very reasonable. The fans create a lively but not aggressive atmosphere. A great choice to eat well and enjoy the game. I will definitely be a regular here. read more

With so many dine in and takeout Chinese restaurants choices in Chicago it's easy to get complacent and eat something that's mediocre just because of convenience. Then I stumbled upon Dai Yee's Asian Kitchen. I googled best orange chicken to feed a picky 9 year old and Dai Yee popped up. Not only does it make arguably the best orange chicken around, but the crab Rangoon are incredible! read more

Found out about this gem through DoorDash & couldn't be happier. Chow fun & Chinese food delivery has been quite the challenge for me as of late, but the search is now over. Ordered egg rolls & beef chow fun for lunch this week & was beyond pleasantly surprised. Everything arrived piping hot & delicious. Egg rolls were impressive - I hadn't seen sizable shrimp in this appetizer before. Love! Chow fun was amazing. It seemed like this endless container of noodle goodness. I kept eating & couldn't seem to get halfway through! The quality of beef is definitely not your average & there was lots of it. Tender & tasty, large pieces. Leftovers warmed up well too. This dish was perfectly seasoned & no extra condiments necessary. While pricing was higher than I'm used to, quality & portion size more than made up for it. I will definitely be ordering again! read more

Big portions enough to feed a family. Dai Yee's is one of the best carryout only places around here. It's kind of hard to find but worth looking around until you do find it. Has a lot of Chinese and Thai dishes with varying degrees of authenticity. The prices are pretty high, which is the only bad thing. Finding it can be difficult. It's one of the restaurants in a ghost kitchen. The Rockwell Food Center is home to a few small restaurants which share a kitchen, and everything is picked up at a window. For this particular restaurant, it has mostly Chinese and Thai items. There's some that are really spicy. Also these come in big portions. The last time here I got the Curry Vegetable With Tofu. It's about $16, so it has a hefty price tag, but the portion is big. The vast amount of food helps with the high prices. Can order ahead or order inside. It doesn't really take long. They have a limited but okay menu for vegetarians. read more

Dai Yee's Asian Kitchen - The Curry Vegetable With Tofu - Szechuan Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

Food was like a 2 no flavor sorry‍ will not ever go back until they begin using seasoning

I could have sworn I wrote a review for Dai Yee's Asian Kitchen. Can't imagine how I missed it. This place gets five stars simply because I am not a big fan of Chinese food and yet I have ordered from here multiple times and loved every dish. Ordering is very easy online....they have their own app, which I have on my phone, to give you an idea on how often we order from here. The food is always hot and delish, with very quick delivery times. Usually when I order, they will say it will take 45-60 min, but that has turned out to never happen as it usually shows up as early as 20-25 minutes. Now I will say that the prices are higher than what you would expect for take out food, but well worth it based on the portions alone. A large order of anything can easily feed three people. If you get a large order of anything for yourself, you are looking at dinner and at least three days of lunches. My personnel favorite is the Pork Chow Fun. The pork is pan fried strips mixed with flat wide rice noodle. I made the mistake of assuming that there would not be enough meat in the dish, based on previous places I have ordered from. That was a mistake as it looked like I got another small order of Pork Chow Fun. The Queen ordered a shrimp dish and I have to say that it was not only loaded with shrimp but they were of a nice size. The Doctor got the Beef and Vegetable Fried Rice. This was a fresh tasting dish, loaded with vegetables and beef. This made for a good breakfast the next day with an over easy egg on top. The Bar-B-Q Pork Buns are very good, the bread being fluffy and the pork is nice, tender and sweet. The egg rolls are fried but not greasy, fresh tasting. Pot Stickers come with six to an order. At $10.99, that is on the high side based on other places I have ordered, but for me, well worth the price. The Won Ton Soup has six dumplings in it. The wontons were fresh and contained pork and shrimp filling served in a chicken broth. The soup at Dai Yee is unusual because it contains strips of barbecue pork and green onions. That along makes it worth the $8.99 price. If I had any complaint about this dish it would be that I need more of those yummy wontons in there, six is not enough! If you are in the delivery range of Dai Yee, I would definitely recommend ordering take out from them. Not only will you not be disappointed but you will be eating for the next 2-3 days easily. read more

Insanely expensive considering the quality of the food. It's comparable to a mall food court, but for $20+ per dish.

I really hate to write this review but just wanting to share my experience. My family has been coming here for over three years, never really had much of any problems until last night. I've left great reviews on google before in regards to the crab rangoon, it's always a favorite and must have of mine. Ordered it last night along with the wings and beef fried rice. I'm the only one in my family that eats the Rangoon, so when I had nausea in the middle of the night, through the morning and all day today, I could think of only that. Had diarrhea as well and I seen on a review on google that another customer had something similar but worse because they ended up in the E.R. I'm not sure if some safe practices are going avoided or corners being cut, but I would hate to stop being a patron because of this. read more

Wonderful service! Okay food. Like the dandan noodles. We'll be back. Looking forward to trying more items on the menu.

I finally found my go to for yummy Chinese food! Over the years I've tried so many and this is the first I've tried that surpasses them all. I placed my order through yelp that went to DoorDash. I got worried when I didn't get a confirmation of the order. When I saw the delivery time expand pst an hour I felt I needed to call. I called and had to leave a message. The owner called me back immediately and confirmed my order was in fact in its way. (She was super nice) The food arrived hot and I even got a small container of "extra" of the main dish. That was so nice! The General Tso's chicken was sweet and spicy and wonderfully flavorful. I received 6 very large and crispy crab Rangoon that are definitely homemade. Can't recommend Dai Yee's more. Can't wait to have the left overs tonight! read more

The General Tso's chicken that was ordered as take out was the worst I've ever had. Hard, crusty, dry, and bad tasting. If I was sitting in that restaurant, I would have told the server to take it back and have a word with the management! read more

Mongolian beef, egg fried rice and egg rolls were all delicious. Mongolian had more kick than the wife could tolerate but I loved it. It's in a kind of food court so it's a little strange the first time you go but they have a good system and it's pretty quick. The menu is somewhat limited. Egg fu young would be nice. Pricey but it seems that all food is nowadays. I would go back read more

Very tasty food, authentic spices, generous portions. Takeout orders are handled pretty quickly.

I ordered the cashew chicken which looks nothing like what was displayed next to the menu picture. The chicken didn't even appear to be seasoned. Very disappointed with the outcome since there's so many different places to choose from in the city. :,( read more

Really great food! I ordered the night before because I was having people over for lunch. The food came on time and everything was delicious! The meal turned out to be a little expensive - but that was mainly because of the tax and tip. The entrees were just a few dollars more than other restaurants, but the portions are very generous. I will definitely order from them again! read more

I ordered Dai Yee's for the first time today around 4pm. I had a craving for Chinese food and heard about this from a friend. It didn't disappoint! Delivery: The site quoted me 45 minutes but it came in more like 30 minutes. Delivery fee was only $6. I was already impressed! The delivery guy was in the middle of walking up to the 4th floor in our building when I met him. He was so friendly and nice! Great customer service :) Food: We ordered Beef Chow Fun and Orange Chicken. I snagged a noodle from the Chow Fun and it was perfectly cooked (still had a bite to it) and bursting with garlic and Asian flavors! My main focus was the Orange Chicken, which was the dish I ordered. The chicken was delicious! LIGHTLY breaded which is hard to find. Also, while it was a little dry, it was all meat and not a ton of gristle and chewy bits like other places. Echoing other reviews, portion sizes are HUGE! Both dishes came SUPER hot so I knew they had just been made. I opened both up immediately to vent so they wouldn't continue cooking. Price: Full transparency it was more expensive than what I'm used to paying for Chinese food. That being said, the service, quality, portion size, speed of delivery, and taste all made it feel very worth it. Overall I really liked Dai Yee's kitchen and will be ordering from here again soon! read more

I don't understand the hype for this place. Im only giving it two stars because, the BBQ-Pork Buns were delicious. The rest of the food was a huge let down. Let's start with, the food is way over priced. Yes I understand everything is overpriced nowadays but this is too much. It's ridiculous. We also ordered WonTon Soup and omg it was so sooo salty. We also order entrees. Sweet and sour chicken Mongolian chicken with fried rice and why does the food have to be so greasy. This was a huge let down because a lot of the reviews are raving how good the food was. Maybe we ordered on the a wrong day? Definitely don't recommend this place. read more

Our friends were craving good Asian food and Dai Yee's was perfect! Website: EASY TO USE The website was easy to navigate and I was able to customize spice level as well as add ingredients or request ingredients be omitted. Delivery: PHENOMENAL (thank you Dai Yee!) The food arrived 10 min earlier than expected which is always a bonus for me since I often wait to order when I'm already hungry. But that wasn't the best part about the delivery! I live in the 3rd floor of a walk up building and even I don't want to walk up these stairs sometimes so I'm always extremely grateful when the person delivering the food makes the effort to do so and Dai Yee's did!!! We ordered a lot of food and there were two bags which were fairly heavy and they still hand delivered to my door. Plus he was so friendly! Also, there was a really nice note on the delivery bags thanking us for ordering from a small business. Food: SOOOO TASTY We ordered a bunch of different things to get a good mix for everyone: Pork Dumpling, Crab Rangoon, General Tso's Chicken, Szechuan Pork (no mushrooms), Chicken and Vegetable Fried Rice (no mushroom), Shrimp Lo Fon (no mushroom). The food arrived hot, fresh and was some of the best we've ever had. Our guests commented how it wasn't overly oily and didn't leave them feeling heavy afterwards. It is definitely high quality food and you get so much of it! Another beautiful surprise from Dai Yee was that they gave us a free Pork YuShun with rice for ordering so much food. If that wasn't enough, they specified that it did not have mushrooms in it since they realized I ordered all of my dishes without mushrooms. That level of attention is outstanding and I'm a customer for life. I highly recommend ordering from Dai Yee's. read more

Food was absolutely delicious. Perfect find for Chinese food that hits the spot. We definitely will be ordering again!

This is my absolute favorite Chinese delivery. The food is delicious. Every item comes packed to the point there is no air -- and piping hot, which says a lot since I live about 4-5miles away. (5/5) Egg drop soup is savory and full of flavor. Loaded with primarily egg whites it seems and lots of fresh scallion. (5/5) The beef lo mein is worth every penny. It is loaded with tender beef (never any chewy gristle bits) and veggies like mushroom, onion, etc. And it has the most delicious garlic sauce. (4.75/5) Hot & Sour soup is tangy and zesty. One of the better versions I've had in the city. (3.85/5) The yu shin chicken has a zippy sauce (not super spicy to me but I also have very high spice tolerance) and packed full of tender chicken and vegetables. Sometimes the broccoli is on the mushier side, whereas I like it more crunchy. I also wish it came with more rice - it's never quiet enough. read more

Dai Yee's Asian Kitchen - Delivery -- super hot and steamy -- beef lo mein, yu shin, and egg drop. - Szechuan Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

Reviews don't lie! Best Chinese I've had in Chicago. The portions are incredibly generous; just one selection could easily feed two people but... leftovers, am I right? The Lo Mein is a thin noodle, which is actually the proper way to make it. You may be used to the slightly thicker noodle, but this one is good. One bite into the beef sent me to heaven. So good! The General's chicken is among the better ones I've had in the city. Not too much goop, but saucy enough not to be dry. Very authentic, just like General Tso himself used to like it. Broccoli ordered on the side is not plain, but in fact served in a nice sauce. It is nice to add to some of the entrees if they lack vegetables. My fortune cookie was incredibly complex and impossible to comprehend. I think even Confucius himself could spend a lifetime and never be able to solve such a riddle. read more
