Ours was a delivery order. I was disappointed in our whole order. The sweet and sour soup was inedible. Way too hot ... even for my wife who is from Shanghai. The General Tso's chicken was better than Trader Joe's orange chicken. But that is about as good as it got. Chicken Lo Mein was immediately forgettable because of too much soy sauce masking everything. The crab Rangoon was free and tasted exactly like cream cheese. Found out about this gem through DoorDash & couldn't be happier. Chow fun & Chinese food delivery has been quite the challenge for me as of late, but the search is now over. Ordered egg rolls & beef chow fun for lunch this week & was beyond pleasantly surprised. Everything arrived piping hot & delicious. Egg rolls were impressive - I hadn't seen sizable shrimp in this appetizer before. Love! Chow fun was amazing. It seemed like this endless container of noodle goodness. I kept eating & couldn't seem to get halfway through! The quality of beef is definitely not your average & there was lots of it. Tender & tasty, large pieces. Leftovers warmed up well too. This dish was perfectly seasoned & no extra condiments necessary. While pricing was higher than I'm used to, quality & portion size more than made up for it. Big portions enough to feed a family. Dai Yee's is one of the best carryout only places around here. It's kind of hard to find but worth looking around until you do find it. Has a lot of Chinese and Thai dishes with varying degrees of authenticity. The prices are pretty high, which is the only bad thing. Finding it can be difficult. It's one of the restaurants in a ghost kitchen. The Rockwell Food Center is home to a few small restaurants which share a kitchen, and everything is picked up at a window. For this particular restaurant, it has mostly Chinese and Thai items. There's some that are really spicy. Also these come in big portions. The last time here I got the Curry Vegetable With Tofu. It's about $16, so it has a hefty price tag, but the portion is big. The vast amount of food helps with the high prices. Can order ahead or order inside. It doesn't really take long. I could have sworn I wrote a review for Dai Yee's Asian Kitchen. Can't imagine how I missed it. This place gets five stars simply because I am not a big fan of Chinese food and yet I have ordered from here multiple times and loved every dish. Ordering is very easy online....they have their own app, which I have on my phone, to give you an idea on how often we order from here. The food is always hot and delish, with very quick delivery times. Usually when I order, they will say it will take 45-60 min, but that has turned out to never happen as it usually shows up as early as 20-25 minutes. Now I will say that the prices are higher than what you would expect for take out food, but well worth it based on the portions alone. A large order of anything can easily feed three people. If you get a large order of anything for yourself, you are looking at dinner and at least three days of lunches. My personnel favorite is the Pork Chow Fun. The pork is pan fried strips mixed with flat wide rice noodle. I made the mistake of assuming that there would not be enough meat in the dish, based on previous places I have ordered from. That was a mistake as it looked like I got another small order of Pork Chow Fun. The Queen ordered a shrimp dish and I have to say that it was not only loaded with shrimp but they were of a nice size. The Doctor got the Beef and Vegetable Fried Rice. This was a fresh tasting dish, loaded with vegetables and beef. This made for a good breakfast the next day with an over easy egg on top. The Bar-B-Q Pork Buns are very good, the bread being fluffy and the pork is nice, tender and sweet. The egg rolls are fried but not greasy, fresh tasting. Pot Stickers come with six to an order. At $10.99, that is on the high side based on other places I have ordered, but for me, well worth the price. The Won Ton Soup has six dumplings in it. The wontons were fresh and contained pork and shrimp filling served in a chicken broth. The soup at Dai Yee is unusual because it contains strips of barbecue pork and green onions. That along makes it worth the $8.99 price. If I had any complaint about this dish it would be that I need more of those yummy wontons in there, six is not enough! If you are in the delivery range of Dai Yee, I would definitely recommend ordering take out from them. Not only will you not be disappointed but you will be eating for the next 2-3 days easily. read more

I really hate to write this review but just wanting to share my experience. My family has been coming here for over three years, never really had much of any problems until last night. I've left great reviews on google before in regards to the crab rangoon, it's always a favorite and must have of mine. Ordered it last night along with the wings and beef fried rice. I'm the only one in my family that eats the Rangoon, so when I had nausea in the middle of the night, through the morning and all day today, I could think of only that. Had diarrhea as well and I seen on a review on google that another customer had something similar but worse because they ended up in the E.R. I'm not sure if some safe practices are going avoided or corners being cut, but I would hate to stop being a patron because of this. read more

I finally found my go to for yummy Chinese food! Over the years I've tried so many and this is the first I've tried that surpasses them all. I placed my order through yelp that went to DoorDash. I got worried when I didn't get a confirmation of the order. When I saw the delivery time expand pst an hour I felt I needed to call. I called and had to leave a message. The owner called me back immediately and confirmed my order was in fact in its way. (She was super nice) The food arrived hot and I even got a small container of "extra" of the main dish. That was so nice! The General Tso's chicken was sweet and spicy and wonderfully flavorful. I received 6 very large and crispy crab Rangoon that are definitely homemade. I ordered Dai Yee's for the first time today around 4pm. I had a craving for Chinese food and heard about this from a friend. It didn't disappoint! Delivery: The site quoted me 45 minutes but it came in more like 30 minutes. Delivery fee was only $6. I was already impressed! The delivery guy was in the middle of walking up to the 4th floor in our building when I met him. He was so friendly and nice! Great customer service :) Food: We ordered Beef Chow Fun and Orange Chicken. I snagged a noodle from the Chow Fun and it was perfectly cooked (still had a bite to it) and bursting with garlic and Asian flavors! My main focus was the Orange Chicken, which was the dish I ordered. The chicken was delicious! LIGHTLY breaded which is hard to find. Also, while it was a little dry, it was all meat and not a ton of gristle and chewy bits like other places. Echoing other reviews, portion sizes are HUGE! Both dishes came SUPER hot so I knew they had just been made. I opened both up immediately to vent so they wouldn't continue cooking. Price: Full transparency it was more expensive than what I'm used to paying for Chinese food. The food arrived 10 min earlier than expected which is always a bonus for me since I often wait to order when I'm already hungry. But that wasn't the best part about the delivery! I live in the 3rd floor of a walk up building and even I don't want to walk up these stairs sometimes so I'm always extremely grateful when the person delivering the food makes the effort to do so and Dai Yee's did!!! We ordered a lot of food and there were two bags which were fairly heavy and they still hand delivered to my door. Plus he was so friendly! This is my absolute favorite Chinese delivery. The food is delicious. Every item comes packed to the point there is no air -- and piping hot, which says a lot since I live about 4-5miles away. (5/5) Egg drop soup is savory and full of flavor. Loaded with primarily egg whites it seems and lots of fresh scallion. (5/5) The beef lo mein is worth every penny. It is loaded with tender beef (never any chewy gristle bits) and veggies like mushroom, onion, etc. And it has the most delicious garlic sauce. (4.75/5) Hot & Sour soup is tangy and zesty. One of the better versions I've had in the city. (3.85/5) The yu shin chicken has a zippy sauce (not super spicy to me but I also have very high spice tolerance) and packed full of tender chicken and vegetables. Reviews don't lie! Best Chinese I've had in Chicago. The portions are incredibly generous; just one selection could easily feed two people but... leftovers, am I right? The Lo Mein is a thin noodle, which is actually the proper way to make it. You may be used to the slightly thicker noodle, but this one is good. One bite into the beef sent me to heaven. So good! The General's chicken is among the better ones I've had in the city. Not too much goop, but saucy enough not to be dry. Very authentic, just like General Tso himself used to like it. Broccoli ordered on the side is not plain, but in fact served in a nice sauce. It is nice to add to some of the entrees if they lack vegetables. My fortune cookie was incredibly complex and impossible to comprehend. I think even Confucius himself could spend a lifetime and never be able to solve such a riddle. read more
