I was out here for a work convention and one of my coworkers suggested to come here and they had reservations available for a big group. This is definitely and upscale dinning experience in Chicago. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They suggested a few things to us to order. We have multiple cuts of meat that were prepped by a cook at a perfect temperature. He cut them perfectly for each one of us to try every single cut. We ordered a rice bowl that was delicious! It does contain pork even though it doesn't clearly say it. Some coworkers ordered tea that came in a unique presentation. The dessert was delicious! Super light, a small portion and just perfect to wrap the meal. I would definitely visit one of these locations again and it is more for special occasions and a more upscale experience.

Perilla has incredible staff that goes above and beyond, beautiful interior design, an excellent vibe, and most importantly stellar food. I recommend this place for any special occasion or celebration. I was absolutely blown away by the Korean fried chicken wings and shishito peppers.

Perilla is my go-to takeout spot for when I need something to eat for dinner. I love the fire chicken Korean meal plate. The chicken is spicy and tender, balanced well with the side salad and kimchi. I usually choose the pork dumplings and they are always crispy. I've ordered the tteokbokki rice cakes and the kimchi jigae in the past but noticed that the portion size of the soup keeps getting smaller. The ambiance of the restaurant is very chic and the hostess is always courtesy and quick with grabbing my order.

One of my all-time favorite meals, an experience and food I won't forget. An elevated Korean bbq experience - the perfect unique twist. The inside has a few small rooms and a patio, more space than it seems but feels more intimate that way. Tried: shishito peppers, kimchi fried rice, chef's tasting plate, banchan Loved: All the food and service was spectacular. The chef's tasting plate was perfect for two of us to split, with the Wagyu being a highlight - the most tender meat I've ever had. Just amazing. The tallow for the grill added flavor to the bbq beyond normal butter and the sauces and banchan were great. The kimchi fried rice with bacon was served in a hot bowl and really kept it warm as we ate it with our bbq. The service was amazing - everyone was constantly checking on us and giving great recommendations. Onyx did an amazing job serving us as well as the rest of the staff!

3.5/5 The food at perilla is excellent- specifically the banchan (eggplant!!!!) and the protein (wagyu). However portion size is relatively small. The banchan is replenished without charge which is lovely. They have a separate GF menu with 5 appetizers, 4 proteins, and sizes.

Impromptu friday night dinner where we managed to snag two lounge seats by calling ahead! We ordered: - gochujang pork ribs (a little pricey but so tender, great kick of spice, 9.5/10) - kimchi fried rice (solid portion size, paired well with the meat, 9/10) - stone bowl bibimbop w chicken (really liked the variety of veggies, 9.5/10) - la galbi (a little bit chewy but great marinade and we loved the mushrooms, 8.5/10) - complimentary kimchi (like 6 different kinds!! 100/10) - ice cream sundae dessert (crispy rice puffs, salty caramel, light cake base, incredible 10/10) Service was fantastic, we were always well taken care of even though they were very busy and we were in a little nook. The lounge area can be a little loud with music and a larger group seating area -- we didn't mind but wanted to note for others. Also happened to run into Thomas who was incredibly kind and welcoming, generously gifted us the yummiest dessert. Need to come back to try the wagyu on the main kbbq menu!

The ambiance of this place is amazing. The food was expensive but delicious. There was a little mix up with our food order but we ended up getting everything.

If you're interested in elevating your Korean bbq experience, this is a spot to try. Please note the portions are much smaller and everything is paid a la cart unlike the normal korean bbq where it comes with large portions, rice, side dishes, vegetables, sauces, and soup. That's why I call it more elevated! As appetizers, we had the scallion pancake and korean fried chicken. Both were very good with the korean rice wine we ordered. Meats and seafood can be chosen a la cart or with a choice of tiered tasting menus. We got the pork belly tasting menu and a premium tier with beef along with some seafood items a la cart. I recommend the premium beef tasting, which I thought the portions were enough only for 1 person, but i think it was supposed to be for 2. We had to pay extra to get the lettuce and sauce. Extra cost for side dishes, which you only get 4 small plates with no refills. The food was pretty decent and service was okay.

Just an absolutely striking dining room. Professional attentive and knowledgeable service. We started with a bulgogi and rice cake dish that had a great combination of flavors and textures. The waitress guided us to a great selection of beef and we added on some scallops and shrimp. The banchan set thoughtfully assembled with more great flavors and textures. Really nice bourbon cocktail.

FLAVOR (4/5): They have some really high quality meats here! The stone pot rich had crispy rice bottoms which is always the best part. The shishito peppers were also a nice touch, very juicy and flavorful. INSTAGRAM WORTHY (4/5): The restaurant on the outside looks long and skinny and the inside does reflect a smaller intimate space! They have a tasting for their meats which makes it feel more elevated compared to your normal KBBQ. SERVICE (4/5): Our server had a lot of good recommendations but service is a bit slow here. We had to flag them down in order to catch our transit out of there on time. One of our cups had a chip in them so check your items to not get cut! TAKEAWAYS: In my opinion good quality but too expensive for the amount of food you get. It really bothered me that in traditional Korean restaurants the side dishes like kimchi and radish come for free with refills but here you need to pay a hefty fee for them.

I'll start by saying there are two locations now, so make sure you make your reservations at the correct one. Fortunately, it wasn't busy so they were able to change our reservations location. Needless to say service was and has been fast and excellent everytime I have visited. The meal comes with the bean Sprout Soup which is actually very flavorful and a nice way to wake up the pallete. (5/5) The blistered shishito peppers have crushed nuts and dried anchovies on them for flavor. It's a very unique dish, but it does get boring to eat as the flavor only seems pleasant for the first few bites. (2/5) Kimchi Croquette Delicious for what it is, but it loses alot of the strong kimchi flavor. If it wasn't in the name I wouldn't have known there was kimchi in it. Still delicious though. (4/5) Bulgogi Marinated beef with rice cakes and veggies. This is arguably my favorite simple korean dish and this execution was noteworthy. It's similar to others I have had but with a nice char flavor on the meat. (5/5) We ordered the middle ranged steak platters and the selection for price seems to be the best value. Meat quality was great but it is a very expensive dinner. If you want to order the sample platters choose this one for the most meat for your dollar. Overall, excellent food and service, but the price definitely means it's not for everyday consumption.

I have wanted to dine in here soooo long!!! I had some A5 wagyu pieces and chobops, I thought a bit too much rice under that meat but u cant go wrong with thinly but cooked perfect wagyu with some caviar on top and some sushi rice with it. Honey butter potato was ok, interesting but dont need to have it again, side dishes were fresh and nice, kimchi arancini was interesting, dont need them again, pork belly was nice, wagyu hanger was nice, and bavette was nice too. I would definitely dine here again. I didnt go for it as I had to drive but they have very nice selection of wine and more. Servers are very nice too.

When our waiter asked if we wanted dessert, we said how the hostess told us we would need to leave by a certain time for the next reservation. However, he said we could order dessert anyway. I thought it was weird the hostess was being so finicky about the time, since usually 15 min late is within reason. We did get the red panda. Finally my schedule, bank account, and the weather all lined up to try brunch at this West Loop spot. Like everywhere else at Fulton Market, be prepared for parking to be what parking is going to be here! There are some paid street spots, I also think there is a garage somewhere, and it is noted that Duck Duck Goat does not offer valet. The restaurant is in a super chic corner spot in Fulton Market, with a very picturesque little patio dining space out front. I had a reservation and arrived just a couple minutes early; we were greeted as soon as we walked in and taken to a table without any wait. I absolutely love the inside of this restaurant. Our table was a half booth/half chair two-top in the front window. There is so much rich color and decoration, and it really feels pretty intimate - I think this is a great date spot. The brunch menu has some amazing food options, and the service was very friendly but not overbearing. We started with an order of the crab rangoon to share between both of us, and then the pork fried rice omelette and the bacon and egg moo shu as brunch entrees. This is a dim sum restaurant and the plates are more of a style to be small bites and/or shared plates, and portion size definitely reflects such! Also because of this style, the dishes came out as they were ready, not all together "as entrees". The crab rangoons were incredible - the mascarpone filling is tart and bright to counter the briny crab and the pineapple sweet and sour is incredibly craveable. I will dream about this omelette for the rest of my life. The richness of the pork and the savoryness of the fried rice paired with fluffy egg, piled high with a texture bomb of accoutrements like crispy fried onions, (fresno?) chilis, and picked red onions. This is one of the best bites in the city. The moo shu had perfectly made sunny side up eggs with the richest egg yolks. All the veggies were cooked perfect, I loved the lotus root in the veggie mix. I love that our reservation wasn't rushed, and the service was really nice. We both said before even finishing our brunch that we wanted to come back and try dinner. Also a super cute touch, we were given complimentary little almond cookies after we were done. Thank you so much, Duck Duck Goat, for a wonderful brunch date! We will see you soon for dinner!

They serve the special burger for brunch as well as limited timing at night, so obviously we had to order that. Honestly, there were at least 4 mains that we were interested in, but ended up getting the avocado three layer dip and the kalbi steak & eggs as well. The avocado dip was so interesting, but I liked a new twist on your average avo toast. I appreciated the toasted bread for being crispy enough without being too hard that it cuts up your mouth. The kalbi was so tender and juicy and a pretty decent portion for the price! I wish the kimchi breakfast potatoes had more kimchi flavor! We made the mistake of eating the burger last. It was still delicious, but I know it would've been 10 times better if we ate it while it was hot. Beware of those jalapeños though! The burger had every flavor: sweet, salty, spicy, tangy, creamy. Basically something for everyone. Service was prompt and friendly despite it being totally packed in there! Reservations are definitely a MUST. Free parking all down the street was also a plus!
